Detection/Monitoring of major/minor FlashPlayer version updates across all supported platforms

Is there any API we can use to call against or is there
another way of polling to monitor when new updates are released for
any/all platforms that FlashPlayer is published and maintained for?
I run a very large multinational consumer facing website with a ton
of Flash/Flex applications deployed on it and desperately need a
way of automating the process of making sure all of our apps work
between version updates to the player.
I see that in the client configuration settings for the
player, there is a way to configure the client to check for server
updates for itself periodically, the shortest interval being 7
days. Is the API it calls exposed in any public way that I could
use the same mechanism but also poll for updates for all supported
FlashPlayer versions? I tried to detect what it was using as an
endpoint on the Adobe.com with no success. Ideally I'd love to have
a daemon (I write myself obviously) on my end check the version
numbers periodically and send me messages when any of them change
so that way I can initiate the QA and any resulting development
updates to ensure that everything stay working nicely.

Thanks. Being able to do this would solve a ton of problems
for us as we get killed by version updates occasionally and I'd
rather be able to handle this as proactively as possible as opposed
to purely reactively. I was headed down the path of writing a cron
job to run some CURL code to just sniff at
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
until I realized that I was going to introduce two points of future
failure by hand-parsing the generated HTML to extract the version
string as well as having to seed the request header since the page
is dynamically generated based on the client browser. An external
API or at least a supported method of getting the same information
that I could rely on would help a TON.

  • List of Major / Minor Class Versions?

Im working on a Java Assembly type program and was wondering if
anyone knows where Sun lists the major/minor class versions?
I'd like to have some way of associating those numbers with an SDK version.
    Google was of no help.

They updated the respective footnote in the JVMS in the revised chapter on class file format, if that helps:
The Java virtual machine implementation of Suns JDK release 1.0.2 supports class file format versions 45.0 through 45.3 inclusive. Suns JDK releases 1.1.X can support class file formats of versions in the range 45.0 through 45.65535 inclusive. For k >= 2 implementations of version 1.k of the Java 2 platform can support class file formats of versions in the range 45.0 through 44+k.0 inclusive.
PDF files of the latest (1.6) revision of that chapter are available through the JSR 202: JavaTM Class File Specification Update page: [http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=202]

  • TS4083 Is there a way or a setting my folders in Mail to automatically update across all devices? if I transfer an email to a folder for follow-up on my PC, my folder in Mail on my iPhone doesn't update until I actually go into the folder and update manua

Is there a way (or a setting) for my individual folders in Mail to automatically update across all devices? For example, if I transfer an email to a folder for follow-up on my PC - say 10th of the following month - the same folder in Mail on my iPhone doesn't update until I actually go into the folder and update manually.  Interestingly though, if I create a new folder on any of my devices they automatically appear on the other devices so it is just the actual contents that I am referring to here.  Appreciate any help or guidance.

    Justin

You can turn mail off in the settings but then you can't use it for anything, including the "test" that you want to perform.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Account Name>Mail>Off. That totally turns off the mail account.
As long as mail is turned on and you launch the app, it will look for an download new mail.

  • When I change a tag in one chapter, how do I get it to update across all chapters?

    Good day everyone!
I just updated a TableTitle tag. When I clicked Update All, it fixed everything in that chapter. I have 17 chapters and need the TableTitle tag to be updated across all the chapters.
How do I do that? I hope I don't have to copy the code and fix the tag in each chapter...I'm sure that is the long, unnecessary route.
Thanks in advance for your help!

    YES!
    It worked.
Thanks Van and Error. (Thanks for being so dependable, Error)
This is what I was doing wrong: I was going File>Import formats but hadn't selected the files, so I was wondering why nothing was changing. Ha! Small steps.
Follow up question: When I'm in the Import Formats box, why do I selected just the Paragraph Formats and not the Table Formats box when it is a table format that I just fixed? That's another thing I was doing--selecting Table Formats and then updating.

  • Can't get Flashplayer to install across all desktops

When we download the Flashplayer, it only installs and is
viewable under the desktop on our computer that it was downloaded
to. If we switch desktops on our computer and try to view something
that needs Flashplayer, we get the message 'you must download
Flashplayer'. If we then download under a 2nd desktop on our
computer, it says the installation was successful and yet we can't
view the content and we don't see the movie you're supposed to see.
We have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling under different
desktops but it will only work under the first one that it was
downloaded to. How do we get this to work across every desktop on
    our computer????

I am having similar problem. I am Adminuser while
rest of my family are simply users. I've installed Adobe Flash and
am able to view video content on You Tube; However, neither of my
sons can. I get same message: Java script is turned off (It is ON)
or download FLash. Wassup! How can I correct so all users admin or
not can run Adobe Flass Player?

I assumed that it was due to the java-compiler pointing at the wrong JDK so I made the necessary changes to the server.xml. However, this has not made ant difference.
Has anybody else encountered this problem, and if so how did they fix it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Angus

I guess you have windows, and the environment path you can set through dialog of system settings. Right click 'my computer' and choose properties. Find the button for environment settings. Somewhere here you will see Oracle has added som reference to the 1.3 version. Adjust this so it works.
Or, you can run the actual correct verssion of Java you would like from the commandline.
    Instead of running:
c:\>java <Program name>try running by spesifying the correct java.exe path:
    C:\>c:\program files\java\jre 1.6.0_07\bin\java.exe <program name>Hope this will help

I'm seeing exactly the same thing with Tomcat 4.1 ---also new to Java, no idea how to go about fixing this.
However, since you posted this in August and nobody has responded, it's not clear that this forum is going to be much use.
    Sigh

  • Different JDK problems: Unsupported major minor version

We have a very large application, with a client that runs on a PDA and a client (and server) that will run on a normal desktop computer...
These clients use partially the same code, and partially specific code.
For the PDA-client we're bound to Creme (it's something like jdk 1.3) and for the Desktop-client we want to go to JDK 6.
Now I'm getting the error Unsupported major minor version 50 insteadof 47...
What would be the best solution to this problem?
    - Should I try to split all common files (increasing the amount of code and the maintenance to the code)
    - Or should I keep the commonfiles compiled with JDK 1.4.2 (adding another necessary JDK, a lot of checkstyle complaints, and not the ability to use the new Java-functionality like generics etc...
    - Or is there a better way?
Any help would be grately appreciated :)

    by reading the documentation.
You have your system set up wrong. This is common with people who don't read the documentation.
If after reading the documentation you still can't get it to work, try the search option.
The answer to your question has been supplied dozens, nay hundreds, of times already and is easy to find.
If you still can't get it, find something else to do, like labelling mail for advertising campaigns.

    Solved
Just do these things.... If you initially complied your classes in jdk1.5 and if u r trying to run the same in 1.4.2 or other.. The already compiled classes will be expecting jdk 1.5 JRE for their runtime execution. So what u have to do is......
    1.stop ur sever
2.delete the work directory in tomcat
3.Delete the work directory in your projects web-app Folder
4.Now cleann the project... Build... and Run Again ... . It should work...
if still it dont , i prefer use only jdk1.4.2 on system.. set enviorment variebles for it...Reinstall tomcat .. and do above mentioned steps ,,, This should solve the problem...

  • Packaging Wizard - Compile Jsp ! unsupported major.minor.version

    Hi!
I did follow the "Building Offline Mobile Web Applications Using BC4J" Tutorial
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19188_01/doc/B15920/nvbc4jtu.htm#CACHIGCG
    using jdev904.
Everything goes straight until I reach 20.3.5
I can't compile the jsp-Files in the Packaging Wizard.
The conversion from jsp -to java-Files is successfull, but the next step
    (compiling them to class-Files) fails.
    It does'nt matter what the JAVA_HOME-Environment is set ( 1.4.x or 1.5)
    the error is always
    java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: sun/tools/javac/Main (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)

    Thanx for any hint !

After cleaning up all different java-Installations
    and additionally setting USER-Environment-Variable JAVA_HOME
    i was able to compile!

I have tried using sqljdbc4.jar and sqljdbc.jar, when I use 4 the error lists the bad version as 50.0, but it is the same other than that.

    ODI_JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_06
Test connection: JRE version 1.6 is not supported by this driver. Use the sqljdbc4.jar class
    Ok, I changed sqljdbc.jar - sqljdbc4.jar.
    JDBC: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    URL: jdbc:sqlserver://<host>:1433; databaseName=DB
    Test connection:
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The TCP/IP connection to the host <host>, port 1433 has failed. Error: "connect timed out. Verify the connection properties, check that an instance of SQL Server is running on the host and accepting TCP/IP connections at the port, and that no firewall is blocking TCP connections to the port.".
    May be incorrect connection' parameters?
