Detection of modem usb

Hello, i have an usb modem for 3g internet, with the company Movistar in Argentina, the notebook has a ranure to insert a chip, but i insert it, and nothing happend, in the program of the connections, it says "banda ancha movil", but i cannot select it, i dont know what to do to solucionate it, please i beg you to help me.

unless you bought the laptop with the wwan card, the sim slot under the battery slot won't work.

Network Manager Can't detect 3G Modem since upgrade today

Since i upgrade my Archlinux, Network Manager can't detect my 3G Modem.
before upgrade, my modem work fine.
when i try wvdial, my modem work properly.

Sakis3g stopped detecting the modem after a fresh install

hello
i used sakis3g on the net install iso, it worked flawlessly, auto detected everything
now after installing the core system, installing 'usbutils' and 'dialog' to get the interface, it just doesn't detect my usb modem from huawei. sakis3g doesn't detect anything (and in the usb modem submenu it shows many entries with file/ missing)
from messages.log it seems that there is no problem detyecting the modem

seems it's fine, however, sakis still fails to detect it automatically, but it does its job fine when i specify that the tty the modem is linked to is [ttyUSB0]
so, what precisely is the difference between a [minimal] live arch environment and a fresh [minimal] install? what could possibly explain this difference?

6070 Not being Detected as Modem

Modem is not detected message is coming when 6070 is conncted to PC with DKU-5 cable and Nokia PC Suite. Whereas
other applications are working.

I fixed this ... I found out that you must plug in a usb keyboard.. first in windows 7 64 bit.. .. and while the keyboard is plugged in you must plug in the card reader or barcode scanner or any other usb HID device if the USB device is a "keyboard entry" HID style device.. like a Usb barcode scanner.. or Usb card swipe..... If you do not plug in a usb keyboard then the Scanner will be recognized as a Unknown device....
everything is working perfectly now that i plugged in a keyboard and then plugged in the scanner..

LaserJet Pro MFP M276nw software installer not detecting printer via USB or wi-fi - Windows 7

I am trying to install a LaserJet Pro MFP M276nw on Windows 7 Home Premium x64, and I know the printer functions fine, as I have installed it on both Windows Vista Basic x32 and Windows 7 Professional x64 all on the same desktop. The operating system has been changed a couple of times, hence the multiple installs.
I downloaded the full featured software from HP.com and went through the routine of installation as per usual, except that now the software doesn't detect the printer when it requests that I connect it via USB. Trying to install via wi-fi doesn't work because the printer still needs to be attached via USB in order to create the proper wireless handshake. Windows 7 detects the printer, and in-fact installed the drivers for it automatically. However, the printer installation software suite does not respond to the printer being connected, and just hangs there, waiting for it to appear.
I have tried multiple USB ports and it's the same issue. I've installed the basic driver also available for download on HP.com, but that software does not appear to include an option for scanning files to the computer. The printer itself will scan to email or to to a USB thumb drive, and even to a network folder, but not directly onto the computer. If it wasn't a necessary function of an all-in-one printer, I wouldn't bother with the scanning feature and simply make do with the basic printer driver.
Anyone have some sort of idea regarding this issue?

I see that you are having issues with setting up the printer on the one computer. I would like to help you out today.
I would uninstall the software, turn off the Startup programs, Antivirus software and update the driver during the install by the post I have provided.
Disconnect the USB cable.
Uninstall the software.
Here are the steps to run the uninstall from the computer or the CD.
To uninstall from program files:
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window.
Select the C drive.
Select program files or program files x86.
Open the HP and printer name folder.
Select uninstall.
Uninstall the software from the CD:
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window. Right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
I would disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software to see if there is a program interfering in the back ground. How to use MSCONFIG . Click on the start up tab and click disable all.
Download, save and then run the latest drivers. Don't Connect the USB cable until prompted during the install.
HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver.
Right after connecting the USB cable, follow this document immediately. A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation. Disregard the title. If the printer stays listed properly, don't worry about updating the driver.
Test the printer.
Then you will have to go back and enable the Startup programs and turn the Antivirus Software back on again.

Desktop won't detect Turtle Beach USB Headset

It's been around 2-3 hours since I started, and all I have managed to do was make my driver unusable and sound to not work.
No idea why the USB won't detect, but it seems to be on the computer end and not the headset.

Broken Modem USB Modem

I'm thinking the modem is going out on my older PowerBook G4. I purchased an Apple USB modem as a replacement. In the list of modems available in System Prefs/Network/Modem, the external USB modem doesn't show up (at least that's what my mom says over the phone). Which modem description should I choose to bypass the internal modem in favor of the new Apple USB modem?
Also, under System Prefs/Network/Network Port Configurations it only has the option of 'Internal modem,' the USB one doesn't show up in that list, is that an issue?

The USB 6008 requires DAQmx which requires LabVIEW 7.0 or greater. The upgrade to 7.x (or the just released 8.0) is not free. The only other solution I've heard of is to use the Call Library Function Node to make your own calls to the DAQmx dll. This would not be for the faint of heart or anyone wishing to come up with a quick solution.

TS1521 Garageband not detecting my microphone/usb audio interface

Hello all.
     This is what i have here: an old but barely used Tascam US-122L USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI Interface with a Tascam LD-74 phantom mic, which both of them work. The problem is garageband is not detecting them. My interface is plugged into the usb port is telling me my mic is picking up sound.
     But when i go to system preferences, then sound, input, it only has Internal microphone and Line in with the type being microphone port and audio line-in port respectively. The input volume for the Line in is in the middle but is showing no signs of sound being picked up.
     When i go to garageband, preferences, Audio/MIDI, it only gives me for microphone built-in mic and built-in input. Of course on the track info pane where you select mono 1 built-in input, mono 2 built-in input, Stereo 1/2 built-in input, there is no sign of my mic or interface. I've searched this question over and over and still can't find the answer. Help please.

I tried that once and the mac told me that they weren't recognized, couldn't be unzipped or whatever. But I just downloaded the most recent driver and it worked.

my external USB drive (TrekStor, 160 GB, DataStation Maxi x.u, equipped with a separate power supply) has not been completely detected by my Powerbook.
After a series of tests, I got the following text in the System Profiler under "USB High-Speed Bus":

This info only appears if the system is up, the HD has been powered on before, and finally the USB caple is plugged in into the powerbook. All other variations (powering up HD during boot of Mac OS X) even do not result in this short info message of the System Profiler.
Up to now, the disk utility has never shown the external device in its list. Does anybody have an idea what's going wrong there? According to the vendor, Mac OS X should support the HD without any problems ...

after having attached the hard disk to other operating systems, it seems that this disk is no where mounted correctly ... looks like a hardware problem either of the USB / IDE controller or the disk itself.

What happens if you open a cmd windows and type the following?
echo %APPDATA%
It should find something like:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming
In this case username should be your login name.
Do you have any problems installing other software?
Some possibilities - perhaps you have a corrupt user profile.
