Determine Storage Location of material automatically while doing UD .

Hi ASAP,
Hope you must be doing great.
I wanted to determine storage location of material automatically while doing UD .
Storage location is Determining automatically for movt. type 101/321.
But for Movt. type 103/105, System is not able to determine Storage Location of material automatically while doing UD.
Dear Expert I have done the required config. for plant & Movement type respectively to determine Storage location automatically.
If I require any hard coding to determine Storage Location automatically while doing UD,plz let me know.

I believe that Stock determination strategy will be use only for stock removal, plz correct me if I am wrong
Now coming to our cases.
As per config. done for Plant & Movt. type 103/105, System is able to determine SL at PO automatically.
When I am using 101 to Post GR, In MIGO System is populating SL field automatically and same Storage location is being carrying on to UD Storage location.
But for 103 case is different, though 103 is conditional movt. type ie by default you have assume that mat. is faulty.
In this case , while doing UD SL has to determine automatically,
Now plz suggest me what to do,
I have cross verified from our other client, there manually, SL has to be populated, but over here client want that SL has to determine automatically.
plz help me.

Automatically creation of storage location for material, in MF60

Hi all,
my collegue of PP module uses MF60 transaction.
When he puts XXXX as Replenishment storage location, the system tells him this error: To stge loc. XXXX does not exist for material M1010000182 in plant 0001.
In MM i have activate the automatic creation of storage location for plant 0001 and for all movement types.
Why MF60 does not respect this requirement?
If I try to do movement type 311 with MIGO, manually, there's no problem to transfer the material from a storage location to , XXXX s.loc.
Is there something more that I have to do?

Hi Yan,
If no previous goods movements have been posted yet for the combination of the relevant material, plant, storage location and valuation type the physical inventory cannot be done.
The table MCHB is used for both batch managed materials and materials with split valuation. You can only create a physical inventory document for a material with   split valuation when both, a MARD and a MCHB segment are available.
When you create a valuation type in the material master, only the table MBEW is updated - an entry is not created in the table MCHB. This is needed however to perform a physical inventory for this material.
This MCHB segment is created when you perform a goods receipt for the material, but (like with batches) a physical inventory posting cannot   create this entry in the table.
You will need to create a material posting for these materials if you wish to create a physical inventory for them. On the other hand, please,    consider that it is not necessary to create a physical inventory for those materials which have not suffered any goods movement at all.
If you want to make a physical inventory for a material valuated separately, you have to proceed as follows:
- make a goods receipt (561)==> then the stock segment will be created
- make the reversal of the goods receipt
- make the inventory.

Data for Storage Location of Material Doc. stored in table QAMB

Hi,
I am developing a report in which i have to fetch data on the basis of inspection lot and i want to have the STORAGE LOCATION data for inspection present in the QAMB table(QM: Link Between Inspection Lot and Material Document).
I am not able acess the data which stores info. about the storage location about it.I had tried to reterive the data for it through MSEG table but it is having large amount of data in it as i will not retirive through it and i am able to acess the desierd data through QAMB.
Is there any way to reterive the data for the storage location..

I had checked the table T001L you had mentioned but it does not have any link with the table QAMBor material present in the material document... The storage location present in QALS is when the material is for the Mvt Type 101 but when it is move to *unrestricted(321 Mvt.Type) *it goes to some other specified location.. that storage location i am looking for ...
I hope you will guide me out for it...

How storage location should assign automatically in confirmation-goods

Dear Gurus,
When I confirming first operation then click Goods movement screen there is one column to be filled storage location.My points is that how that storage location should automatically assign to that screen as per material master settings.

Hi Alok Kumar,
As MARIO said there are number of ways are as he said. If it is a production storage location
1) In MRP4 view you can maintain then it will be carried out through out the process till the goods receipt.
2) If you haven't maintained in the MRP4 view then go to Production Order go to Components you can assign there these two are the most important fields for production it will be carried to Conformation Order go to Goods Movement----there you can find the Storage location OK.

Storage location for material to be made mendatory and default

We are generating PR of material through CJ2N. I want to make storage location filed in generatl data tab of material, mandatory as well defalut value depending upon the project. If defalult value can not come depending upon project defination then i want to make default value as blank but mandatory
How can i do this?

Dear Kalpesh,
In standard SAP the storage location will be an input field and no default values will get populated when you attach a material component in the activities as the material master will be extended to multiple storage locations.But in your case if is coming as default either some screen variant must exist or some parameter Id would have been maintained.Check Which & How the storage location is getting defaulted from your MM consultant.

BLock Storage Location for Material

Hi experts,
Some Unwanted storage location exists for some materials . I want to to block them for transfer posting . I tried to do it thru MM06. It is only giving warning msg but not an error msg.

Dear,
Please Set storage location level deletion flag in material master.
Than GO,
SPRO -> Materials Management -> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory -> Define Attributes of System Messages.
Click on Settings for System Messages.
Change Status W to E for Message Number M7 127 - Material & & & flagged for deletion.
Than try to make material document.
You can't do it.

Block Storage Location for Material Movement

Dear MM Gurus,
pl let us know how to block storage location for a material in Plant.
Requirement is transfer posting (MIGO) should not allow by using 311 mov type in sloc, error message to receive.
example ;
material ; 5000
sloc ; 0001
sloc ; 0002
migo-transfer posting should not happen by using 311
5000
0001 - to 0002
we want to block sloc-0002, how to block sloc, pl help if any solution available.

Hi,
You can block the material completely for any movement type by checking X Plant matl status in Basic data view of material master.Or if you want to block specific movement type it will have to done thro authorisation but will apply to all materials .Here the authorisation object M_MSEG_LGO can be worked to remove the movement type or storage loaction .

Hi,
If u want to delete the storage loc for a single material then do the same thro' mm06, enter the material # and storage loc, put a del ind tick & save it.
If u want to delete the storage location itself from plant then u can do the same as told above, thro OX09 by making the stock nil

I need to find out the current stock of a material provided and detaisl i need are quantity, wareshouse number, plant, storage type, storage type name,
i m getting most of data from MARD, wat I am lacking is storage type and storage type name, can any one please help?

Hi
Excise will be levied only if the material moves from a plant to another plant or a depot.
If u try to move a material from a storage location to another within a plant then there will not be any excise involvement.
Check with ur finance guys .
Also if u r trying to move ur material to a storage location outside ur plant, then the same has to created as a plant or a depot and then STO has to be done.
Basically for India excise comes to paly a role when the material leaves the premises only.
Check and revert .
