Determine used desktop intelligence report server

We are using a clustered environment with 2 desktop intelligence report servers (bo xi release 2).
Is it possible to know what report server is used for viewing or refreshing a deski report with the enterprise or reportengine sdk?

Setting a value too low can cause a user's request to be closed prematurely. Setting a value too high can cause system resources to be consumed for longer than necessary.
so its fine its not necessary that both should be the same time. But by default both of them are 20 min.

A scheduled Desktop Intelligence report runs indefinitely on the server...

If we delete the report through InfoView or Instance Manager, the report still appears in the Desktop Intelligence Job Server metrics. We tried pausing it first before deleting it but it does not pause the report in "running" state. The only way we are able to remove it from the Desktop Intelligence Job Server is to restart the Desktop Intelligence Job Server and CMS.
Is there a different way for this? Perhaps have the report time out or something?
FYI, I've noticed that the connection server pooling timeout setting is set to no timeout. Would setting this to a certain number solve our problem?

Hi Gina,
I would assume you are after the Desktop Intelligence Processing Server - new term in XI 3.1 - formerly known as DeskI report server in R2. Feel free to let me know if this is not correct.
Steps on adding a new server in CMC are all contained in XI 3.1 Administrator's guide page 170.
The document can be found in our SMP product guide area.
In addition, it has the steps on cloning a server and deleting a server for your reference.

Web Intelligence Report Server - Error: Failed to run rexec. Error number

Please try to avoid posting duplicate forum posts.
This command :
bouser@v-bo-1 bobje$ ./ccm.sh -restart ras
Restarts RAS server and has nothing to so with WebIntelligence.
To be able to Start/Stop servers from CMC, you have to have rexec running on your Unix box.
Google rexec for more information on what it does and ask your Unix admin to enable it.

Accessing BO XI Desktop intelligence reports through ASP 3.0

I am trying to view BO XI Desktop intelligence reports through a customized application in ASP 3.0. The examples that I have come accross are all related to Crystal reports and none is related to BO XI ".rep" files. Please let me know if anyone can help me with the solution. Regards

What happens to Desktop Intelligence reports when a universe changes name?

We are experiencing intermittent issues with our DeskI reports that are pointing to a universe that subsequently changes its name.
We seem to have some reports that cope with the name change perfectly well, and other reports that "cannot find universe" because it is looking for the new name.
The issue with the latter, is that if DeskI cannot find the universe, it will then not allow you to repoint the universe in the View Data pane. When such reports are found, our workaround has had to be:
1) copy universe and rename with old universe name
2) open report and repoint to newly named universe name
3) delete old universe name
Should all reports automatically update when the universe simply changes their name? Why do some reports not do this? Is there something we can do to alleviate the situation?

Web intelligence Job Server
Dont this services exist anymore?

I believe they are called adaptive processing/job servers now, from the CMC services there should be a sub category for webi, the new names are listed under there.

Using equalizer with reports server cluster

Just wonder if anybody using equalizer with Reports servers cluster, if yes what type?
what is the cluster architecture?
such as Machine A, B, C.... machine A has infra and mid , machine B has only infra, machine C has only mid...
The problem we are having when the second member of a cluster is down the report server component complaints with somw internal error...

Unstable Web Intelligence Report Server on SP3

Our webi report server is becoming very unstable with increase usage. I am finding that the CPU utilizaton increases but never decreases until I manually restart the server. Our CPUs were being pegged at 75%. We are running 2 x dual core AMD opteron CPU's with 4gb of RAM. The page file usage remains consistent.
Once the CPU usage or the server gets hung a 'WebI job server error message is thrown'
Any ideas? I have created a BO tech ticket.

I understand that object named IServer and IServerBase can't give me any information about what server is doing at the moment. I can only check/set server configuration?

Is it possible to obtain SQL that is send by webi report (connection server) to data base i would like to obtain SQL with value of prompts from a existing webi report.
I find that QT.dll generates the SQL from the Universe on which the document is based is any method in SDK/Rebean etc that help me to get that SQL?

Using the default report server

This is the code that i have been using to call my reports from forms......
Till few days my reports where running fine with server that i had created but now i m getting errors as job ID 0 does not exist.....
So for the quick fix i want to run this reports using the default server.
So how can i find the name of the default server ...
because using the default server i can run the report in the url

Convert Desktop Intelligence reports to Web Intelligence XI R2

There is reference to an automated tool for converted DI BO reports to WebI (for XI R2) - but I can't seem to track it down! Anyone know where it resides?

Sure this is called the "Report Conversion Tool" which is installed via a BOE or a client install (3.0 on).

Is it possible to use the JAVA Report Engine SDK to modify DESKI reports?

Hi, is it possible to add a complex filter to a DESKI report using the JAVA report engine sdk?
In the developer tutorials for this API, I've only found references to WEBI in terms of modifying reports, though it seems to be possible to view DESKI reports with this sdk.
I am a bit confused in terms of the scope of this API and how I would use it in regard to DESKI.

Current (XI R2) version of ReportEngine API only supports refreshing/viewing functionality for Desktop Intelligence documents. Document modification/creation is only supported with Web Intelligence documents. Queries aren't modifiable for Deski using ReportEngine API - you can only do so using Desktop Intelligence Reporter SDK, which is COM based.Sincerely,Ted Ueda

Using srw.run_report in report server

Dear all,
I'm running a report (report A) on the report server and after it is running (printing output on screen), I need to run report B at the background and save the output of report B to the file system. In the report A's After Report Trigger, I have a srw.run_report function, the syntax is: srw.run_report('server='||v_serverName||' report='||v_reportName||' batch=yes destype=file desname=/tmp/output.pdf desformat=pdf p_startdate=''12-JUN-2003'' p_enddate=''14-JUN-2003'''). When I run the above syntax (without the server name part) in report builder, it works fine. But I couldn't get it working on the report server. Each time report A runs, report B couldn't be run at all (no job id was given or scheduled). Could anyone give me an idea on whether srw.run_report could be used in the report server?

Using Web Services on the Crystal Report Server XI to return reports

Hi,I'm trying to setup for the first time a Crystal Reports Server XI R2 and put a couple of reports onto the server. This is so I can access the reports on the crystal reports server using using the crystal web services and finally display the reports in an ASP.NET web application.So far I have installed the server, created a couple of reports, put them on the server, and tested to see that I can access the reports using the Central Management Console. This all works fine and the reports are returned. Ok, now for the bit that's not working. I looks like your mixing technologies here. You are using Crystal Report Server and the Crystal Report Web Services that come with Visual Studio.I know that this might seem like they are the same product, and the naming does seem confusing but I'll try and make it easy for you to understand.Crystal Reports Server - This is a managed reporting solution which allows you to distribute your reports via the web. It has features like scheduling and built in security.It appears that you have a handle on what Crytal Report Server is from what you have been able to accomplish those far. You have created your report and published it to Crystal Report Server and viewed it via the Central Management Console. Crystal Reports Server has two methods for accessing the reports programatically.1. The Enterprise SDK2. The Web Services SDK<a href="/node/353">Check out this white paper that compares these two SDKs </a><a href="/node/256">This paper describes the Web Services SDK.</a>In the above paper there is a getting started section which points you to the Developer Library which shows you how to install the web services on your Crytal Reports Server machine.Crystal Reports Server does not have the Business Object web services installed by default so I would suggest following the directions in the <a href="http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2/en/devsuite.htm">Developer Library.</a>The directions wont talk about Crystal Reports Server but these are the directions to get the Web Services installed.
