Anyone know how to determine which security patch or Critical patch update has been applied to the database? For Unix and also Win 2000k database server..

Use the lsinventory command of opatch (Oracle's patch
installation tool) to list the patches installed.
If you have Perl and opatch installed, this is simply
a matter of typing:
opatch lsinventory
from the command line.

You will need to post the exact message, although I would guess that the download was corrupted during download. Did you do it over a wireless network? It may be better to connect straight to the ethernet port and download from there or try going to
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1643
and download directly from there.

Ways that I can check.
Installed Software tab in software update
Acutally run a software update to see if you can acutally download and install it.
ThanksOpen Terminal and type "softwareupdate -l" without the quotes.
To get a list of available updates, type "sudo softwareupdate -iva" (no quotes; admin password required).
To install recommended updates only, type "sudo softwareupdate -irv" (ditto).

Please note it can take a while for your system to actually display all the updates you've already installed after typing the first command. -

Once 'dynamichost' is entered, the current dynamic host in use will be displayed in the prompt [ ]>, as seen above.
You will need to verify that the appliance - escpecially if a virtual (VESA) - is using the correct host.

Question
How do I tell what version (update / release level) of version 6 has been applied to my system? I have applied several different release levels to version 6 of FF but all the about feature tells me is Version 6.0. no version! This seems to be a change in the way updates are handled. Is that a bending because of the speed of which you're pushing out updates and new releases?

Nope, I never used Chrome, but I did try Chromium on my Windows desktop PC for a few months last year. I got tired of the Google updater. exe running all the time and Google's method of doing updates, so it's gone. I do have Chromium on my Linux EeePC since last summer, but Ubuntu handles all updates and gives the user the capability to accept or deny, any or all updates - much more to my liking, similar to the way Mozilla does it. I don't like software developers forcing to update until I am ready to proceed.
There's a lot more about this new Fast Release system, than just the lack of visible version numbers, that I don't like. The Nightly, Aurora, Beta, & Release sequence is dumb with the way it changes the version numbers. I prefer installing (for instance) what will become version 7 and have that installation progress thru the 4 stages, instead. Now it's like Nightly going from 7 to 8, Aurora going from 6 to 7, and Beta doing - hell, I won't know if it becomes a Release or if it just dies and I will have to install the Release version myself. I also dislike the UI changes in 4/5/6/7 enough that I am still using Firefox 3.6 for almost everything and Firefox 2.0.0.20 for the rest. My Windows 8.1 update has been showing "Preparing to install..." for 3 days now. When I click "Stop installation" it says I need to provide administrator permission and doesn't have any way for me to provide this. My account is the administrator
account for my laptop.
I have already seen a similar thread that said to open a command prompt with admin privileges and type "slmgr -skms", but the solution did NOT work. Basically, it said the usage was incorrect and popped up 5 windows of information that I didn't
know how to interpret (yes, I tried to provide the options it wanted, but they were incorrect).

In case anyone else has this problem, on Windows 8.1 I had to open up the Control Panel, then type "troubleshooter" in the search box. I clicked "Troubleshooting" and then found "Fix problems with Windows Update" under the System and Security section. -

Need to find all clips to which a certain filter has been applied
Other than going through the entire timeline and opening each of my clips in the viewer, is there a way to determine all the clips on the timeline to which a certain filter has been applied?

John LinkNot really John, at least not that I can think of off the top of my head ... but you can make the task easier by changing your Playhead Sync mode to Open (View menu > Playhead Sync > Open) that way you can zip through the timeline and as the playhead moves from clip to clip it will automatically open the clip under the playhead into the Viewer window. If you set the Viewer window so that it is showing the Filters tab then you can pretty easily see at a glance whether a specific filter is applied on a specific clip.
Or, if there are no other filters applied, then you can turn on the timeline's Clip Keyframe overlays (toggle on/off with Option T) ... wherever you see a green line displayed then you know that a filter is applied. -

I tried saving his time sheet data on the ESS . I noticed that when I went back to check on the draft, Draft has no longer exists or had any information. When I tried to find the draft, I got the message "critical error, data has been lost"

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 on your iPad then you can only update via your computer's iTunes, as described half-way down the page that you posted from.
To update via a computer, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes and selecting 'Backup' (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC)
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

It will not download if you already have it.
Just to be 100% clear …
Look in /Applications for "Install OS X Mavericks"
Use the Finders Go menu > Applications. To open it.
You may have an Applications folder in your Home directory too, it shouldn't be in there but it is possible.
Also try Spotlight to see if it can find that filename.
Can you also tell us what system you have?
Apple menu > About this Mac > more info button… What is the Model (under the Overview tab).
10.9 doesn't install on all systems, so it could explain why you can't get it, however it usually displays a dialog stating that fact. -
