Determing date an asset was capitalized

Can anyone shed some light on how to determine the date/period in which a given CIP asset was capitalized. Trying to do some point in time CIP reporting and can't rely on the asset_type indicator to proviide this. I essentially need to determine the asset type at any given point in time (CIP or Capitalized).

Knowing the period an asset is capitalized would be fine. Can anyone shed some light on how to accomplish this via SQL or PL/SQL?
The need for this is to be able to run reports for an asset that historically show its status - i.e. it may currently be a CAPITALIZED asset (as of today) but 3 months ago, it was a CIP asset so it is necessary to run a report of all CIP assets that were CIP as of 3 months ago.

  • How do i increase or decrease vaule of asset that was capitalized in prior

How do I increase or decrease the value of an asset that was capitalized in prior year (2011)? The prior year and current year depreciation also needs to be adjusted to reflect the change in asset value.
1)Assets were created in FY11 with an 11/15/2010 date
2)The assets were given incorrect costs.
3)I need to adjust the cost of several assets .The net amount of all cost adjustments will be 0$.
4)Some of the assets will be adjusted down to 0$. These need to be disposed of.
5)I tested few few assets in testing client using ABZON.
ABZON will not allow me to input the original acquisition date because it is in prior fiscal year. To test, I used a period 1 date (4/15/11).  Using 4/15/11 will not adjust the prior year depreciation.
ABZON also does not deactivate the asset so after I processed the asset decrease using ABZON, I used ABAVN to dispose of the asset.  This created an entry to the gain/loss account for the depreciation that was taken in FY11 (prior year).
For example: one asset with acquisition value: 2272.05 and depreciation posted in prior year (2011)is 53.97
Acquisition value 2272.05 has to be zero with other asset adjustment.
How can prior year depreciation (53.97) can be adjusted in the current fiscal year
    Need your help on this.

    HI,
My transaction type is not 7* series but it is 336.Please help me to get this done.
I mean it is settled from project and WBS element to Assets(144 assets) using CJ88,so i tried reversing it in CJ88 but it thrown me error message as Fiscal year is closed, I opened fiscal year for asset accouting for previous year.
i already did ABZON with value date 4/15/2011 for one asset among 144 assets and did asset retireemnt,so when try to reverse in CJ88 (value date :11/15/2010)its throwing me below message
retirement was already posted on the asset 00000xxxxxx 0000 on 20110415. Based on the value date 20101115 of the transaction, this transaction should have been included in the calculation of values for the retirement.

  • Creation of Assets for Capital Investment Measure

    Hi,
Can some please tell me how to create an Asset for Capital Investment Measure.

    Hi,
First you have to create master data using asset class AuC.
You have define asset class for Capital Investment Measure (AuC class) in t-code : OAOA. And still in the same t-code (OAOA), you choose "investment Measure" in box "Status of Auc".
If you choose "Investment Measure", the assets under construction in this asset class can be created solely in relation to capital investment measures (internal orders or WBS elements).  So you cannot create and post in Asset Accounting directly (Example post using t-code : F-90).
If you use WBS Elements then you can post to the asset for Cap Invest Measure using t-code : CJ8G or CJ88.
    Hope it can help.

  • Asset wrongly capitalized

    Hi
I wrongly capitalized one asset of Rs.12000 (Doc date, posting date and asset value date: 15th July 2010). Depreciation is also posted till December 2010
Now as per auditors, the same should be expensed out in repairs account. WDV as on today is Rs.7350.
Now i need to reverse the entire transaction (including depreciation, accumlated depreciation). Vendor is paid in july itself.
FY is from April 2010 to March 2011. I tried with ABNAN. But its telling that the date is not in closed period.
Please help how can i rectify.

    Hi,
    Steps you should follow.
    1) First change the depreciation key in the asset master to "000" (zero depreciation)
    2) Do repeat run of depreciation, so that the depreciation recalculates and the net depreciation posted will be come zero.
    3) Scrap the asset. Here the entry will be
             Loss on sale of asset
                To Asset
    4) Mannualy post an entry
               Expense (corresponding GL)
To Loss on sale of asset.
Note: First try this scenario in you Dev or Quality Server.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards

  • No asset was archived for AM_ASSET OBJECT

    Hi Experts,
I am new to SAP and Data Archiving.
    Please help me.
What should be the residence time for AM_ASSET object.
and If I try to archive AM_ASSET with residence time as 0 or blank. In job log i am getting d message "no asset was archived". what should be d reason?
    Regards,
    Mudiyappa

If you are new to SAP and archiving then you should start with the docu which can be found help.sap.com
the easiest way to get to the documentation is to use the archiving object name
    e.g. in Google just enter
    AM_ASSET site:help.sap.com
Once you open such a link like Archiving FI Asset Data (FI-AA) - Financial Accounting (FI) - SAP Library
then you can find the general introduction for data archiving as the first entry in the navigation menu on the left.
This keeps you already busy for some hours (or days, if you take the chance to test what you read)
This object specific  documentation has as well sections which talk about prerequisites and residence times.
In any case, before you carry out an archiving job, you should make sure that you have the most recent OSS notes with bug fixes in your system. Archiving is something final, there is not much you can do if the data is gone. So go to the service.sap.com/notes site and search again with the archiving object and read those notes and decide which one needs to be in your system. Among them you will find plenty of information to get a deep understanding about archiving in general and for this specific object. Some are in dedicated consulting notes, other are just as explanation next to bug fixes.
And if you execute an archiving job as a beginner, then always use the detailed log to get full information. Remember a job log is related to the technical execution of the job, the log with the error messages from archiving is found in the spool file to the job.

  • When I open up "originals" in my iPhoto library, the dates are not there or are incorrect.  I see date created and date modified, not the original date the picture was taken.  How can I find the accurate original dates?

I have had a lot of issues with my iPhoto program. After many trips to the Genius Bar and numerous hours with phone techs, I am now rebuilding my library, starting with a backup of it from before the corruption. When I "get info" of a picture, I notice the original date the picture was taken (most important for me), is not there or is wrong.  When I check package contents of my iPhoto library, the originals show up, but most (not all) of the dates are wrong.  Can anyone tell me how or where I might find the original dates?

I did post to the iPhoto forum and am hoping for an answer soon. I don't want to continue rebuilding my iphoto library if I can do it using originals. My library has 45,000 pictures...a huge job!

  • Document date is earlier than acquisition date for asset

Client has an asset which they want to post an acquistion for as of 1/1/2011. They are in December of 2011. They first put an acquisition in with 12/31/2011 and then cancelled it, realizing they needed a docdate of 1/1/2011. When they try to redo the acquisition with a docdate of 1/1/2011 they get the error "Document date is earlier than acquisition date for asset xxxxx"
The capitalization date on the asset is 1/1/2011. I looked at the acquisition date (thorugh SQL) and it is "1899-12-30 00:00:00.000"
Does anyone know why it is preventing from posting?
(Posting dates allowed are 1/1/11-12/31/11 for period 12 of 2011 and the period is unlocked)
    Alan

    Hi
I do believe that the problem is in the capitalization date 12/31/2011
Even if you have cancellled the first acqusition , and the acquisition date has taken the dummy date that assets have when there are no acqusitions 1899-12-30 00:00:00.000
Still the capitalization date remains 12/31/2011
and this will deter any transactions earlier than 12/31/2011
    My question is,
can you still edit the field capitalization date?

Try resetting Photoshop Preferences.   Use your Photoshop start icon to launch Photoshop and immediately press and hole Shift+Ctrl|CMD+Alt|Option keys   Photoshop should Prompt you with Do you want your Preferences deleted. Reply yes.   Photoshop should then delete your user ID preferences and then create a default set of preferences for your ID and start successfully.

  • My iphone 3gs has started showing the wrong time  and date. All was fine until this afternoon when it changed.  My apps have the right time and date. However the world clock is wrong. I have to turn off the automatic time setting to get the right time.

My iphone is showing the wrong time and date. All was well until sometime this afternoon when it changed...  to Nov 5 (2 days prior to today), and about 9 hours and some minutes before the actual time.  The world clock for my time zone shows the same wrong date and time. My calender shows the same wrong date and time.  The phone can not find my time zone any more.   The only fix I found was to turn off the automatic setting for time.  What is  happening? Ideas?

    just sorted mine went to
    settings-mail,contacts,calender-timezone support
then turned it off then on tapped time zone and typed london
    this did sort mine

  • I need help proving the date tag on a photo stored in my iPhoto is from the date it was sent to my iphone/date it was imported into iphoto - and that it is NOT the date the photo was actually taken.  Please help!

I need help proving the date tag on a photo stored in my iPhoto is from the date it was sent to my iphone/date it was imported into iphoto - and that it is NOT the date the photo was actually taken.   I recieved a photo via text on my iphone and then I synced my iphone to my macbook and now it is in iphoto.  I already know that the date on the photo per the tag that shows up on it in iphoto is NOT the date the photo was actually taken.  I need article or literature or something confirming the tag is from when it was sent to the iphone and/or when it was imported.  I greatly appreciate some assistance!

All I am trying to do is find something on a forum board or article etc stating that the the date showing in iphoto could be the date it was imported or synced or sent to me and not the actual date taken.
The date on the photo could be anything because you can edit the date with iPhoto or any of 100 apps, free and paid for. So, the date on the photo will prove nothing, I'm afraid.

  • Copying photos from iPhotos to an external hard drive, changes the dates the photo was created

I have the odd query where when I copy photos from iPhoto in to any other folder, whether it's on the mac deskstop or an external hard drive, that the 'date created' on the some of the photos is changed from the date the photo was actually taken to some random date. This is sometimes the date that I move the photos and sometime a date seemingly randomly selected between the date when the photo was taken and then date I copied the photos.
It doesn't make a different if I copy or cut and paste each file, and if I select all photos from a single event and copy then all in one go, some photos keep the correct data and others don't.
Most of these photo of of my baby, so the exact date take is very important ofr reference. Current I have a 100 odd photos taken over a few weeks all with the same 'created date'. I have no idea if she was 10 week or 20 weeks old at the time.
Any ideas? It's really frustrating me.

    No
iPhoto never does anything with a photo that is not in its library
Although it does not affect this do you have a default managed library or a (strongly not recommedned) referenced library - (The iPhoto advanced preference to "copy imported items to the iPhoto library" has been unchecked) which is strongly NOT recommended.

  • Retrieve the date a file was created in the background

    EDITED CONTENT----
Apologies all...I just realized there is a specific forum for this type of question.  I will post it there.
Thanks Marilyn for point this out>>>>should have read it first as suggested.
    /message/2572763#2572763 [original link is broken]
    Hi guru's,
I have a custom application that does some windows directory cleaning based an older than 'X' days setting.  I have to do some calculation to determine if the file being processed is older than that number of day and delete it if it is.  To determine the file created date I use the method DIRECTORY_LIST_FILES from CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.  This works great in the foreground but dumps in the background because the handle object reference is not created in the class constructor and subsequently does a call to a "NULL" object.
    My question:
Does anyone know of a way to get the date a file was created while running in the background?  If not, please read on --- I have another question regarding an alternate approach I am trying.
I have tried the following approach FM EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING to return an internal table with all files in a directory.  Works fine in the background, but the created date is not in the return values.  Soooooo I looped at the internal table and called this system function:
            CALL 'C_FILE_ATTRIBUTES'
                ID 'NAME'     FIELD tempfile
                ID 'TYPE'     FIELD singleFile-
                ID 'LEN'      FIELD file-len
                ID 'OWNER'    FIELD file-owner
                ID 'MTIME'    FIELD file-mtime
                ID 'MODE'     FIELD file-mode
                ID 'ERRNO'    FIELD file-errno
                ID 'ERRMSG'   FIELD file-errmsg.
This returns the MTime, which is the Modified time (in Epoch time format: number of seconds since Midnight 1 January 1970), but no created time.  Does anyone know the ID for the created time?  I tried CTIME but no value is returned.
Along with this question: any idea if a FM or Method exists to convert Epoch time to a standard time.  I could do the calculation myself....but it seems someone would have already done this.  No point in re-creating the wheel.
    Thanks so much,
    Quack
