Determining Where Podcasts Are Being Written

I recently moved my iTunes Music folder to an external HD to take the load off my iBook. This freed up the desired space. The thing that I had overlooked was that now I would have to have the external HD on (I don't keep it on all the time) whenever my Podcasts were being refreshed, which I have set to every hour.
Then today before I turned on the external HD, I noticed that three Podcasts were in various stages of completion. If the external drive were off, just where was it writing them to? I was afraid that there would be some kind or error condition or iTunes freeze at the end of this process, so I turned on the external HD and everything seemed to progress smoothly.
Later I did some further investigation and found that when the external hard drive was not available, it wrote those Podcasts to my iTunes Music folder on my iBook internal drive. This is great because now I don't have to leave the external hard drive on all night when some of these Podcasts and TV shows to which I am subscribed download.
Is this the way it is supposed to work? Does it attempt to write the external hard drive as set up and then when it can't it writes to the internal? This is indeed the best case scenario from my perspective, but I just want to know if my understanding is correct.

Is this the way it is supposed to work?
Yes. When you run iTunes, it looks for the 'iTunes Music folder location' as set in Preferences>Advanced>General.
If iTunes doesn't find that folder (in your case, because the EHD was off), it resets the location, which is the default one at /Users/Username/Music.
However, iTunes doesn't set the location to the external again when it is turned on the next launch. You will have to set it manually to the external again.
To transfer the podcasts (and other imported and added content, while the EHD was off) from the internal disk to the external:
Set the location to the external drive.
Choose 'Consolidate Library...' from the Advanced menu.
This will copy the files from the internal to the external drive.
Delete the contents of the 'iTunes Music' folder on the internal drive.

How to determine if reports are being run/used

I have two Crystal report environments. One being version 7.5 and the other is version 10. Between them, there is a very large number of reports (1000's) that accumulated over the years. I am looking for a way to be able to tell which reports are being run and actually used. By used I mean actually being pulled from the repository. I do not know all the specific details of the environments and not a CR expert so it is hard for me to provide too much more details. Any help or suggestions on how to try to determine which reports are being used is greatly appreciated.

Question is; what is the Crystal report environment in your definition? E.g.; what is the actual product? It could be what used to be called Crystal Info (v 7), Crystal Enterprise (v. 10). Or it could be an app written by someone in your organization. Or it could be an app written by a 3rd party.
In any case, getting answers for these products will be difficult as you're looking at products that are close to 10 years out of support (v. 10) and well over 10 years out of support (v. 7).

File corruption on SDCard when multiple files are being written from WinCE 6.0R3

We currently have file corruption problems which we have been able to reproduce on our system which uses WinCE 6.0R3. We have an SDCard in our system which is mounted as the root FS. When multiple files are being written to the file system we occasionally
see file corruption with data destined from one file, ending up in another file, or in another location in the same file. We have already written test SW that we have been able to use to reproduce the problem, and have worked with the SDCard vendor to
check that the memory controller on the card is not the source of the problems.
We know that the data we send to WriteFile() is correct, and that the data which eventually gets sent through the SDCard driver to the SD card is already corrupted.
We believe that the problem is somewhere in the microsoft private sources between the high level filesystem API calls and the low level device calls that get the data onto the HW.
We have confirmed that the cards that get corrupted are all good and this is not a case ofpoor quality flash memory in the cards. The same cards that fail under WinCE 6.0R3 never fail under the same types of testing on Windows, Mac OX, or linux. We
can hammer the cards with single files writes over and over, but as soon as multiple threads are writing multiple files it is only a matter of time before a corruption occurs.
One of the big problems is that we are using the sqlcompact DB for storing some data and this DB uses a cache which get's flushed on it's own schedule. Often the DB gets corrupted because other files are being written when the DB decides to flush.
So we can reproduce the error (with enough time), and we know that data into the windows CE stack of code is good, but it comes out to the SDcard driver corrupted. We have tried to minimize writes to the file system, but so far we have not found a
way to make sure only one file can be written at once. Is there a setting or an API call that we can make to force the OS into only allowing one file write at a time, or a way of seeing how the multiple files are managed in the private sources?

All QFE's have been applied we are building the image so we have some control.
I have build an image which used the debug DLL's of the FATFS and I have enabled all of the DebugZones. The problem is still happening. From the timings in the debug logs and the timestamps in the data which corrupts the test file I have been able
to see that the file is corrupted AFTER the write is complete. Or at least that's how it seems.
We finished writing the file and closed the handle. Then more data is written to other files. When we get around to verifying the file it now contains data from the files that were subsequently written.
What I think I need to do is figure out in detail how the two files were "laid down" onto the SDCard. If the system used the same cluster to write the 2 files then that would explain the issue.

SharePoint Databases - How to determine which ones are being used and which ones aren't

I am not sure where to exactly post this question. On the SQL Server side or on a SharePoint side.
I am a SQL Server Database Administrator who is monitoring some SharePoint databases. On a daily basis it seems that they are creating new databases but don't delete the databases that they are no longer using. For example, they might be testing
on a development server and if things aren't working properly instead of asking that the databases be deleted they just go ahead and create new databases to do what ever they need to do. Is there a way on the SQL Server side to determine which SharePoint
databases are being used and which ones aren't being used? Or does one determine this information through the SharePoint Central Administration console?

With ios6 where do my pictures go when I click "Save Photo" from Facebook? I can't find where they are being saved.

I was having the same issue and just figured it out. There's a setting you have to turn on to allow Facebook to access your photos. One it's turned on it starts working. Here is the location:
Settings > Privacy > Photos > turn facebook to ON

You can check the purchase history on your account via the Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) drop-down menu option on your computer's iTunes - though I'm not sure if that shows in-app purchases and/or auto-renewing subscriptions. How can I determine what sites are being referenced within Central Admin Upgrade and Migration Manage Databases Upgrade Status?

When I go to Central Admin > Upgrade and Migration > Manage Databases Upgrade Status, I have 2 content databases which have the status:

Manage Databases Upgrade Status will provide you all active and offline DB details, you can get same result
using below PowerShell cmdlet.
Get-SPDatabase and Get-SPContentDatabase will provide all active database/Content DB in Farm which include Service application db, central admin DB.
Get-SPDatabase | Format-Table Name, ID
Coming back to your question, if you find that there are some site are not completely upgraded then run below command and understand the cause if issue on specific DB.
Test-SPContentDatabase WSS_ContentDB_Name
If you find any missing file issue in DB then resolve these issue to upgrade content database.
(verify all customizations referenced within the content database are also installed in the web application. This cmdlet can be issued
against a content database currently attached to the farm, or a content database that is not connected to the farm )
Use the Upgrade-SPContentDatabase cmdlet
to resume a failed database upgrade or begin a build-to-build database upgrade against a SharePoint content database

Here is a safe way to look at an email which you think is suspicious:
* right click on the message and select 'Save As'
* the file name will be the email subject followed by an extension of .eml
* store it in a folder you can find easily, such as your Documents
* using your file explorer, right click on the file name and open it with Notepad or a similar text editor (NOT Thunderbird!)
* even though the format is not easy to read, you should be able to see who sent it to you, and also read the message text.
Since you are looking at the message in a text editor, there is no chance a link can activate something bad. I have used this method many times, and have found several spoofs of email names of my friends.

Code to determine which jobs are being run in the database

Audit Events (Audit Events) are being written to ADS_EVENTS table are 12 hours off

All of my events being logged are 12 hours into the future. Is there a local setting that BO 4 uses to determine the local time zone? Or some other setting, which it uses to determine local time?

By default, the events are generated in GMT-0 timezone to allow distributed environment with machines in different timezones to record a coherent time.
You can add a formula in your reports to adjust to your timezone.

Podcasts are being deleted by the app

I downloaded some podcasts yesterday and whilst playing one the app stopped and then deleted all the podcasts for no apparent reason. I tried this again and it happened again. Having removed the app, rebooted iphone and reinstalled it is still deleting the podcasts. Does anyone else have this problem?
Also, it doesn't automatically download the latest podcast when I subscribe or even show the newest podcasts when you refresh.
Have not managed to find Podcast support and all the Apple website points to is this forum. Not terribly impressed with this app.

Those files are "owned" by Server.app, and Server.app and user modifications tend to conflict.
You can either use the .htaccess file here and avoid the Server.app files altogether, or maybe use the "other" path. I don't have any 10.8 server handy to check this detail, but here's the "other" path include directive for OS X Server 10.9 that's latent in /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/httpd_server_app.conf:
Include /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/other/*.conf
Place your changes in that directory, creating it if necessary. Make sure the added directory and file(s) are readable by the web server, too.

Determine databases that are being used sharepoint 2007

I have a Sharepoint farm where I am moving all databases over to a new server and configuring sql mirroring. Is there a way to tell which database's Sharepoint is currently using I need a way to tell system and content databases. So with that said does
anyone know of a way to check this? I've gone into Sharepoint and selected the backup option in order to see a list of database names however I would like another way to verify which dbs are used.

You've got "stsadm -o enumcontentdbs" which should give you all the content DBs but i don't know of one that will list all the other Shared Service Provider databases.

How do I determine where harddrive is being used?

I recently bought an iBook and have been installing music/pics on it. As far as I can tell, I've imported about 18 GB of material. But when I Get Info for the Macintosh HD, it shows 32 GB of the hard drive have been used. Even assuming that I've put some other limited files, this seems very high. Is there an easy function that will let me see where my memory is being used? I know that I can search folder by folder, but I've tried and must be missing where the additional 14 GB is being used. Tiger install will take up 12gb if you don't go through and do a custom install and remove stuff that you don't need.

Query to see which system events are being traced?

I had an Oracle consultant working on our database recently. He left with some system level tracing running at level 16 (support) and the trace files are filling the disk. Is there a query I can do to determine which events are being traced so that I can disable them. I think the syntax to disable them would be:

From reading the posts I see that I can do:
set serveroutput on;

and if I get a level of '0', that means that tracing is turned off for that event. This is helpful, and I suppose I could write a script to check all event numbers using dbms_system.read_env(<event_number>,<level>). However, I was hoping that there was a view I could query but I guess there's not.
