Dev 6.0 team: Y2K issues

Forms 4.5 and 5.0 have the following built-ins as DATE2 only:
- form parameters
- LOV dates
Is anyone able to say whether these built-ins have been changed
in Forms 6.0 to DATE4 format?
null

Mark,
You are wrong. If you are using NT/95 set registry variable
NLS_DATE_FORMAT. This will help you with LOVs and so on.
Sincerely yours, Ilya.

  • Solaris 10 Dev. Edition - Network config issue (NIC,DHCP,Can't ping router)

I am a developer getting started with Solaris 10 configuration. I recently installed Solaris 10 and have run into an issue with network connectivity.
I have done much research on this and I was able to get communiction to the internet established once, but the settings were lost on reboot.
Overview - The Solaris box is connected to a router which is acting as a DHCP server.
    AMD 64 dual 2.6
    nForce4+ integrated NIC
    1) I am not able to obtain an address from the router. Nor do I get a respons back when I ping it. I get an IP etc if I boot into Windows so phyicial connectivity is fine.
    2) Upon reboot the device nfo0 as shown using ifconfig -a has an IP of 0.0.0.0.
    3) If I run ifconfig [hostname] my machine gets the ip from the hosts file, but I would like to obtain this from the router.
    4) NOTE - the machine shows as active on my router, but the Solaris box cannot be reached from other computers on the networ, nor do I get a reply back when pinging the router from the Solaris box.
GOAL - reach and obtain a DHCP from the router and have the changes stick upon reboot.
    /etc/hosts contents
    127.0.0.1 localhost loghost
192.168.1.55 solarisX /*<-- this is what I get when I do ifconfig nfo0 solarisX */
    /etc/hosname.nfo0
    netmask + 255.255.255.0
    solarisX
    /etc/defaultrouter
    192.168.1.254
    /et c/netmasks
    192.168.0.0 255.255.2550
    Specific Steps taken:
Using the driver nfo-2.4.5 locate at http://homepage2.nifty.com/mrym3/taiyodo/eng/ I did the following.
    % cd /.../nfo-x.x.x
    % rm obj Makefile
    % ln -s Makefile.${KARCH}_${COMPILER} Makefile
    % ln -s ${KARCH} obj
where ${KARCH} is the result of `isainfo -n`, and ${COMPILER} is
"gcc" or "suncc" which you want to use to make the driver.
    4. Testing
Testing before installation is strongly recommended.
    # cd /.../nfo-x.x.x
    # /usr/ccs/bin/make install
    # ./adddrv.sh
    # /usr/ccs/bin/make uninstall (for solaris7, don't remove the file )
    # modload obj/nfo
    # devfsadm -i nfo (for solaris7, use drvconfig and reboot with -r )
    # ifconfig nfoN plumb ( where N is an instance number, typcally 0 for first card)
    # ifconfig -a ( you will see an entry for nfoN)
    # ifconfig nfoN YOUR-HOST-NAME
    # ifconfig nfoN ( ensure IP address is correct)
    # ifconfig nfoN up ( and then you can test with ping, telnet, ftp ...)
    5. Installation
After you ensure that the nfo driver is fully functional, install it.
    (1) copy the nfo driver into the kernel directory
    # cd /.../nfo-x.x.x
    # /usr/ccs/bin/make install
If you do not test the nfo driver yet, execute the following commands:
    # ./adddrv.sh
    # devfsadm -i nfo (for solaris7, use drvconfig and reboot with -r)
    (2) Configure the network interface. Create and/or modify the following file:
    /etc/hostname.nfoN
    (3) Reboot the system.
    # init 6

Thanks Alan. I worked on trying to get the NIC working again last night. I had it working once, although the settings did not perist. I can still get the device to load, but I can't communciate with the router (it's not physical because another OS can reach it.
I took your advice and tried the sys-unconfig. But I did not have much success.
I am wondering if plopping in a new PCI NIC would be the most efficient route to get the server up.
What kind of NIC do you utilize and have had success with?
I am looking at possibly a DLINK DFE-530 or NetGear FA-311. I don't need wireless at this point just a rock solid DEV box.
Thanks again for the previous info.

  • Windows Dev to LINUX UAT deployment issue - can't log on.

    Hi All,
I've recently deployed my dev dashboard/webcat to our UAT server ( for the first time ) along with changing the instanceconfig.xml to point to the new webcat directory. when I log in ( as Administrator ), I get the following error on the web page:
    Unable to Log In
    Invalid Handle Of 'PN3saw13security_impl5GroupE' Exception
    Error Details
    Error Codes: Q4NU7XSN
The sawlog0.log file contains the following:

    Time: Wed Mar 17 14:04:41 2010
    File: project/webbedrock/handle.cpp Line: 21

    saw.subsystem.security.checkAuthenticationImpl
    saw.threadPool
    saw.threads
    Invalid Handle Of 'PN3saw13security_impl5GroupE' Exception
Can anyone advise on what the problem is? I wondered whether it was a LINUX permissions issue, so tried a chmod -R 777 on the webcat directory.
    Thanks in advance

For anyone interested, the problem, now resolved, was in the transfer of the webcat directory.
In the end I ZIPped the webcat directory, transferred the ZIP, then unzipped on the destination server, not copying the web/catalog directory as a series of sub files/folders.

  • Resolution of CC for Teams - Education issue regarding second install for student interns.

    Hi,
I posted a question last week regarding using our second available install for our student interns. I did receive an initial reply but did not receive one for the follow up clarification I posted. Since I need a definitive answer, I am submitting on a new thread. Is there another avenue for me to get an answer? Below please find the link to the original post and the thread excerpted. My response to Kartikay's answer is below. Thanks in advance for your help!
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5767531#5767531
    Hi,
I am in charge of administering our recently purchased 10 seat CC for Teams-Education License. Can we use our second install per license on another work station shared by our student interns? I read through the general and CC EULAs as well as going through the forums and did not find a definitive answer that I can show my supervisor. Thanks in advance for the answer!
    Hi KimonRethis,
Thank you for reahcing out to us for this query .
As per the Eula, one seat is assigned to one user only but that one user can have the products installed on upto two of Machines that belongs to him . So in our case , since you are installing the product on a machine that does not belong to the original user , you will be violating the terms of EULA .
Please do let us know if you have any further query or not .
    Cheers,
    Kartikay Sharma
    Hi Kartikay!
Thanks for your timely reply. In our case however the machines belong to the department, not the individual user, so would not fair use include install on the department's machines? I am certainly not trying to over parse your response or find a way around the EULA-since money is a large issue for a state institution (California State University, Northridge-I'm in the Marketing Department), I have to do my due diligence to make sure we are being as fiscally responsible as possible and it does seem to me that looked at from the perspective of departmental ownership, the install on a second workstation should be allowed. Thanks in advance for your response.

    Hi,
    Reset the hosts file:
    Windows
Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
    Save and close the file.
    Mac OS
Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
    Type /etc.
Select the hosts file and open it.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
    Save and close the file.

  • DEV 6.0 team : Help req while running forms on the WEB

I am using Windows NT 4.0 with Service pack 3 running Oracle8

    there are a few problems
1 ) The Tigger " When Mouse Click" does not fires on the web for
    a display item.
    2) when i set the CLASSPATH=E:\orant\forms60\java for forms the
tree in OAS 4.0.7 stops showing and if i remove it from there
then i am not able to run the forms for web through the forms

I can only speculate on some of your issues, but maybe they
might give you some insight on possible alternatives.
    Mouse-Click on Display Item
The display item does not, by definition allow modification.
Have you tried changing the item to text and then disabling the
INSERT and UPDATE properties to NO? I have tried using display
items in the past, resulting in a grayed-out box on the web. To
get around this, I made the above changes and created a mouse
trigger to jump to another field when someone tried to mouse-
    click on it.
    Changing CLASSPATH on OAS 4.0.7
I had the same results. The OAS installation sets the CLASSPATH
to what it needs and changing it has the results you describe.
I am curious, however, are you able to view the form from the
Developer Forms Designer using the other CLASSPATH. I have not
been able to use this feature at all. I read somewhere that
this functionality is not available in the beta version. I
would appreciate any information that you can share.
    Jinitiator Performance
Assuming that you have already tried cache settings and short of
the users having faster machines with more memory, faster web
access, etc. I don't think there is much we can do but wait for
Oracle and Sun to make enhancements.
I have had some success with using IE 5.0 (beta) directly
without the Jinitiator. My web applications load and run a
whole lot faster using the same configuration that you describe.
It might be worth another look!
    Hope this helps.

  • Team Viewer Issue

How do I set up the Team Viewer in MSS?
I have set up the ODAP, but not sure how to link it to the Team Viewer iView in MSS with the relevant view (MSS_TMV_EE_DIR)?
    Thanks

Using MSS ERP 2005 on EP 7.0
I have a requirement to design a page with the Team Viewer iView on the General  Information Page. What I am trying to achieve is that if a manager selects an employee in the Team Viewer the employee profile iViews (General Data and Personal data which are dependent on the pernr that is passed from Team viewer) their information should appear in the same General Information Page.

  • Clearbox 2.0 Issues

I would like to know if there is a way to insert a clearbox 2.0 gallery into a <div> so that the white space behind the photo gallery is filled with the desired background (either image or color).  I have played around with this for many hours and it is just beginning to become more time consuming than it is worth.  I see no code in the accompanying CSS that seems to address this issue and the gallery seems to defy all <div> tags.  I am relatively new to this programming world and would sure love someone with some experience and wisdom to either answer my question explicitly or show me where I can find a step-by-step example of how to acheive this,
You can see the site home page at: http://tinamarie.sk-america.com/index.html and you can see the gallery at http://tinamarie.sk-america.com/gallery.html
If you look at the home page, I would like to essentially construct the gallery page to fit within a <div> that is under the navigation and above the footer divs and bounded on either side by the wrapper div.  I thought I set it so that Clearbox was within the container div but to no avail. Instead the first thumbnail image is positioned immediately to the right of last navigation choice. Furthermore it does not appear like I can even get my navigation div to maintain a width of 960px.
It is completely frustrating and I am really hoping one you takes pity on me and appreciates my effort enough to give me a little (a great deal of) help on solving this issue.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Create Separate Master Rep for DEV, QA & PROD or just use Contexts

In line with a previous question I posed on the usage of Contexts for the "ODI touted" one set of code for various environments, I'm wondering in implementation, how many architects have actually used Contexts in the place of different environments (and hence code sets) for DEV, QA and PROD.
Example, I could have an ODI Master/Work for a DEV environment and then when I move to QA/TEST, I'll have another ODI Master/Work and another ODI Master/Work for PROD. This way, I have true change management and ODI Object Code will be locked from after it leaves the DEV environment. Export from the DEV Master/Work and Import into the QA Master/Work; as well import from QA to PROD Master/Work.
I've been in an ODI application environment where we did just as above in order to ensure the integrity of the code set (i.e. locked after DEV).
The other approach is to have just one Master/Work (or multiple Works for Execution or such) and then use the Contexts in the Topology to point to different physical servers. Although this allows for 1 set of code (in the previous approach when Export/Import from DEV to QA you still have to change the physical data server in QA), there's less integrity in the code set.
So long story short, I'm just wondering what you all have done from an architecture standpoint; pros/cons and etc. Thanks for the input.

    1. One master for DEV & QA ( Multiple Work repository), One Master for prod (Execution work repository)
    Merits:
    -Easier to maintain.
-If you need the complete project in QA without export/import of each object, solution will be the best approach to implement it. Just restore the solution in QA environment.
-No need to take special care about the logical schema as you are using the same master repository that was in QA.
-It will take less time to test each objects.
-Once the testing is done promote scenarios to production.
-The very common issue regarding id conflict will not occur frequently.
    Demerits:
-Sharing the same topology between dev & qa will create unnecessary issues like a developer can have the privilege to change the physical dataserver details. Even if you restrict from editing/deleting, the number of logical schema will goes on increasing day by day. So here you have to have a dedicated admin who will take care of this topology part. But if I would have been there I must have given full privileges to the developers in dev env.
-If QA env will be a work repository then you have to restrict all testers from modifying the objects or else you can only promote scenarios to QA.
-If you have different physical connection for QA env, then security concerns may arise as the connection details going to shared between one master repository.
    2. Multiple master and work for each environment.
    Merits:
-All teams are independent as you have different env.
-There is nothing to be concerned about security related issues as you have different topology for different env.
-Once the DEV team is done with the project, promote only scenarios/loadplans to PROD through QA.
-Easier to maintain the versions as you have separate env.
    Demerits:
-Chances of getting id conflict issues.
    -Difficult to maintain.
-Special care must be taken to keep the logical schema name same across all env.
Other experts also can share their experience. But the common thing for each of us is to keep production completely different in terms of work and master repository.

  • License Issue from MCS 6.1.3 to UCS 9.0

    Hello all,
We are upgarding CUCM from 6.1.3 MCS to 9.1 UCS. Our plan is to jump from 6.1.3 to 6.1.5 to 9.1.
We took backup of 6.1.3 MCS via Disaster Backup Recovery & restore it at UCS after new installation of 6.1.3.
We contacted cisco licensing team to issue us temporaray license for 6.1.3 for UCS so that we can proceed to upgrade process. Cisco issued us license but we are not able to install it successfully. Its giving attached mac-address mismatch error.
We contacted back to license team again & they confirmed there is no issue in license file, its some thing with the system.
Can any one advise what could be wrong with system. I am sending the output from system, screen shot of error & license file.
    Please advise.

  • OBIA Financial Analytics - ETL Incremental Load issue

    Hi guys
I have an issue while doing ETL Incremental load in DEV. Source, Target ORACLE.
issue with these two tasks: SDE_ORA_GL_JOURNALS and SDE_ORA_ImportReferenceExtract
incremental load is holding at SDE_ORA_GL_JOURNALS.....on Database sessions the query is completed and also the session is done but no update in the session log for that session in informatica. It says hust ' SQL Query issued to database' . no progress from there. and the task in both informatica session monitor and DAC says running and keeps running for ever. No errors seen in any of the log files.
Any idea on whats happening? I checked session logs, DAC servr logs, Database alert logs, Exception logs on source and found nothing.
I tried to run these Informatica generated queries in SQL developer and they ran well and I did see the results. More over, weird thing is from past three days and about 10 runs....the statis tics are
both thses tasks run in parallel and most of the times Import references extract is completed first and then GL_Journals is running for ever
In one run, GL_Journals is done but then Import reference extract is running for ever. I dont exactly understand whats happening. I see both the queries running in parallel on source database.
Please give me some idea on this. And this same stuff is running good on QA. I dont know how this is working.....any idea on this is appreciated. Thank you. let me know of ay questions. Thank you in advance.

  • IPhone 6 BlueTooth issues with iOS8

    Ok here is my findings:
Tried 2 iPhone 5 units before iOS8 and no issues with Bluetooth (1 I had for 2 years and no issues in my car). Once updating to iOS8 the bluetooth didn't work well at all for phone calls but music connects fine. Strange issues with the unit automatically start dialling but not able to cancel call until you disconnected bluetooth.
Also incoming calls ring but unable to answer and seem to lock up so you have to disconnect bluetooth to hang up.
I tried everything listed in the forums here and what the Apple reps told me. It works for a short while until the phone gets turned off or synced with iTunes. Now I have a new iPhone 6 with iOS 8 and it worked initially before I started setting things up.
I did not restore from a back up, I started as a new phone. Once I installed all my apps (Not in iTunes, rather manually over the air) and changed settings on the phone (not sure if it because of changing settings or turning the phone off) it would not connect to bluetooth in my car anymore, well it does just for music. I have tried my wife's iPhone 5c and it seems to work fine with my bluetooth so it definitely has nothing to do with my vehicle.
Apple there is a definite issue here. Stop telling me and other people to contact my car manufacturer to fix the issue. It all worked fine before iOS 8. Something needs to be done ASAP or I will be returning my phone and jumping ship to an Android or Windows phone as much as that may pain me. I have been a loyal Apple customer for the last 7 years. If this is how you are going to treat me and other loyal customers, you will not keep us for long.
I am hoping someone from Apple is reading this. If so I am expecting to be contacted. We expect a resolution fast!

I had same Bluetooth issues with iOS 8 on my iPhone 6; no phone/no music streaming although showing as "connected" with my 2 vehicles (VW and Audi).
Apple telephone technical support team solved issue with both cars as follows:
    1. Delete the phone from handsfree memory in the Bluetooth car settings.
    2. "Forget" the handsfree device (car) in the iPhone Bluetooth settings.
    3. Reset ALL settings in iPhone (not just network settings)!!
(note: I had to reset ALL settings twice in a row for this to work.)
It worked in both cars! (Hope it stays working.....?)
You will have to reset wallpaper, and most other settings, as well.  Certainly worth the trouble to get car Bluetooth up and running properly.
    Good luck.

  • OIM 11g Import Issue

    Hi All,
We are facing a problem to migrate USER Metadata xml object from Dev to Test environment. A new custom UDF was created in Dev environment to fix some issues and it is working fine in Dev but when we have migrated/imported this new UDF in test environment the same is not getting reflected in UI pages (like in user attributes, auth policies etc.) though it is available in database.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Amitesh

    Hi,
This is a bug in 11.1.1.3.
    I faced the same issue.
1)I was using base product release 11.1.1.3.0
2)User metadata from DEV in file User-DEV.xml. User metadata from PROD in file User-PROD.xml
3)Error message in ‘oim_server1-diagnostic.log’ displayed when attempting to import User-DEV.xml into clean PROD environment for the first time
4)Output of ‘desc USR’ on the USR table on PROD after import failed present in desc_usr.sql. Shows that fields were created in DB.
5)When we tried re-import, DM complained that UDF columns were already present. So, I altered the USR table manually (dropped the UDF columns – yes, I know it is a bad idea, I don’t usually do this…) and tried re-import. Different error this time around, present in error_after_field_deletion.log
So i would say create the UDF manually into the Test Environment.
I am not sure if it is resolved in any of the BP released as of now.

    Akshat

  • Issues with creating transport request for cross client changes???

So all workbench requests getting created in client 120.
I would like to have all customizing/work bench requests created and released from  client 100.Is is possible to re-assign all work bench requests created in cleint 120 to client 100?
    Thanks

    Hi Rama,
If u r making any workbench changes that means they are repository
objects it will reflect entire system. I dont think we need to import them
into the same system once again. Hw ever we can do that by scc1.

  • Business System creating issue

there are two Production SAP R/3 on our landscape.
so we can see PRD on AHOST and PRD on BHOST on technical system on SLD. they are using same 100 client.
whenn i create BS, I got error message
"The selected client has an associated logical system name that is already used for another business system. select a different client"
Due to using same PRD, even though they are different host name, it show us when creating BS,
i think that it does not make sense because many r/3 sid are used by PRD or DEV.
    does anyone has such issue?
    thank you
    YD

If both are brand new, or at least one is new (it means they're not being exchanging IDocs, BDocs, or are somehow connected to other SAP boxes like APO, BW, etc) you should consider to change one of the two logical systems in SCC4.
Otherwise... suppose you want to route an IDoc (coming from R/3) based on which PRD instance issued it: you won't be able using the LOGSYS, but you can prob use some other fields of the control record, properly set.
If you just don't mind, let your SLD think that you have just one system. For IDocs going to SAP, you'll just be able to decide whether they should go changing the pointing of your IDOC receiver channel.
But this is a very strange situation anyway. What I wrote are just suggestion based on exerience and common sense. Hope that helps somehow.
