[dev] Tools to manage/access local dev siebel adaptive db server?

Tried to use SQL Developer with Sybase jdbc jar, plus correct config on tcpip + port etc. for dbeng9.exe command. Port connected fine with telnet. But login fail with SQL Developer.
I'm hoping to able to access the local DB directly, and drop corrupted tables with constraints error that cannot sync with server DB!

to access local database, you can use the dbisql tool in \bin folder where your Siebel is installed.

As those tables are from SQL Server, as you don't tell how you "imported" them, etc etc, the only advice I can give is:

Simple file server accessible remotely with managed access. Do I need ML Server for this?

I have a Mac Mini that will be dedicated to serving 15 folders of documents to 7 people. It would be great if each person had their own password and I'd like to be able to decide what folders each user will have access to. The people need to be able to access the files from home and on the office network.
Do I NEED to run OS X server for this Or can i accomplish this in OS X?
I have to get this running quickly and I may not have time for the ML Server learning curve (even though it has been simplified).
I tried to get ML server running on my machine a few weeks ago but got stuck. If setting up ML server with JUST the file server is dramatically easier I will try again. Can anyone please suggest a tutorial that takes me through simply setting up a remotely accessible file server with managed access with ML Server?

OS X client can serve files to remote clients, via both SMB/CIFS and AFS; via the Windows and OS X fiel services. That's cheap, uses hardware you already have, and works fine.
Most NAS boxes don't do distributed authentication. Typically, you have credentials for the box at most. Some of the mid- and upper-end boxes do offer distributed authentication, but that means having that authentication around. At the low end, an Apple Time Capsule is a reasonable NAS box, and you can add an external disk. And can be used for backups via Time Machine, too. The mid- and upper-end boxes from Synology have a reputation for capabilities and flexibility. There are (many) other vendors.
I'm not a huge fan of LogMeIn for various reasons that I won't get into here, but that service does work for accessing hosts. I don't know if that allows access to NAS directly, but I'd tend to doubt it. You'd need to check with both LogMeIn and with the specs for whatever NAS box you're using.
Given the choice, I'd use a VPN.
Using a VPN does mean you can control — at the VPN level — who can access your private network, so that can provide a broad-brush form of access control to your NAS device or your OS X client or your OS X Server box, if you go that route.
I don't prefer to openly serve files to the internet, as the underlying protocols have occasionally had security issues and vulnerabilities, and the internet gremlins will find and will poke at any open ports and any accessible file servers. I prefer to configure these services via VPN.
VPNs are also more involved to set up, where LogMeIn can be simple.
As mentioned previously, I'm also not a huge fan of the host-based VPN servers in OS X, though those do work. The gateway boxes I've been using in the last year or so are probably not a good choice for a user that isn't familiar with networking — the boxes provide a user interface that very definitely expect the user to understand IP and routing and related, but is both self-consistent and quite powerful — and they're cheap for what they can do, and they do work nicely. ZyXEL ZyWALL USG series. If you are evaluating any of these firewall boxes, then I'd definitely encourage downloading the manuals and making sure you can understand the available information. The server-grade firewall boxes are almost inherently flexible and thus complex devices.
One of the easiest ways is to work with somebody that does this sort of thing to sort through the options and requirements and trade-offs available here, and potentially to set up your VPN or NAS or server configuration for you. (Disclosure: I offer this.)

E4200v2: Local Management Access via Wireless *ALWAYS* Enabled

I just found a slightly unsettling bug in the E4200v2 (running the latest firmware 2.0.36 build 126507).
Administration > Local Management Access > Access via Wireless ... set to DISABLED.
HOWEVER, when I attempted to access the web interface on a handy iPAD I had absolutely no problem getting through to the web interface (after providing username and passsword).
Limiting access to wired clients seems like a simple a prudent measure ... which is why this option is there for the paranoid among us.
This seems like a black-and-white bug. Comments welcome. Fix in the next firmware revisio even more welcome.

It was mentioned in another thread that disabling wireless management does indeed disable http access over port 80. However, if you're using https access--which uses port 443, that access is not blocked. So for anyone who wants to disable wireless management access, you need to enable management access via http only, and then disable the wireless access. That combination will indeed work.
I have confirmed this on my own router and can now only manage via wired connections over http.
Strange bug/oversight!

Computer Managed Prefs: Local Login Account Fails

I have ann intel Mac running Tiger. It is also bound tom active directory so that network accounts can login to it. The problem is that when I use the managed computer prefs from the tiger server workgroup manager, the local account cannot login, however when I remove the computer from the list it will login the local account.
I have deleted the account and tried a fresh one. I have reset the PRAM. HAs anyone else experienced this problem. Since I am only managing the prefs at the machine level it should not affect users accounts like this.....
Is there a real good source for management tips using the workgroup manager....There are some issues I have with this tool and maybe I can get some more insight into how to deal with some of the holes in the system....

In WGM click the 'Preferences' icon. Click the 'Computer Group' icon (double rectangle). Click the 'Login' icon. Click 'Options'. Check the checkbox labelled, 'Local administrators may refresh or disable management'. Click 'Apply'.
To allow your AD domain admins to administer your workstations, in Directory Utility.app click the 'Services' icon. Click on the 'Active Directory' plugin. Toggle the triangle next to 'Show Advanced Options'. Click the 'Administrative' tab. Check the 'Allow administration by:' checkbox. Add the AD admin groups that you wish to allow admin level access on your client workstations. Click 'OK'. Click 'Apply'.

Tool for managing tickets from client

My Client has implemented SAP in June 2013.And soon after go live they have outsourced 100% work to some agency.
Now problem is that that agency dont have any tool to manage the requests which they are getting from the cleint to process in SAP.
All the Accounts payable ,Gl enteries,PO,GR,MIRO all these kind of transactions that outourced agency is doing.They are getting emails in oulook from the client saying "please process PO" with attached details,likewise for all other processes.
Using outlook is littele wierd because its big team of 50 people.If 50 people will use one oulook then that will hamer the efficiency and effect SLA's.
Can anybody suggest some local tool to be used by this agency so that they perform in a better way.
Solution Manager and HPQC are not perfect fir for this kind of scenario.

ACE30 is running but not allowing management access

We've got pairs of ACE30s in our data centers set up with active/standby FT. Some time yesterday the active ACE in one data center started refusing management traffic - it accepts SSH connections but fails authentication (local password, no RADIUS/TACACS is configured); and ANM reports it as down (no XML connectivity):

We haven't opened a TAC case yet - someone's on his way over to see whether we can get in through the serial port first - but I'm wondering whether there are any other diagnostics we can gather (will resetting the module form the Sup force a coredump?) before we do.

It looks like the ACE control plane has hung and that's why you are not getting any management access. But everything is working since there is no problem with data plane.
Reloading ACE should fix this. It can due to low memory conditions. Please do check logs before the issue happened. You may have had some low memeory condition warnings.

Dunning report difference in dev,testing and prod server in sap

we are facing a problem while executing the tcode f150 in dev,tsting and production server.
while giving the same run on and identification,the different parameters are coming and the status is geting changed.
in ker,the process is getting compelted,in testing the process is getting sceduled,complete but getting the status as"process completed but job deleted".
and in production,the status like testing server is coming but some tabs(from the too bar where delete,etc lies)are not getting to see,its not showing up.
please tell me if we can check it through some tcodes,or eliminate the eorr.

How Can I Get A Flash Movie to Access Local Files

I have a customer that has created a Flash movie to run off a CD. The movie is basically a set of menus with links to access local files in the same directory as the movie. i.e. Main folder (to be root of CD) has the movie, a Documents folder with PDFs, a Movie folder with wmv and mov files, etc.
The problem arrises when you click on a link to a file, a web browser is launched, and the browser tries to display the target file. The movie was designed on a Windows system, and, mostly it works in a Windows environment, however, the links totally crap out on a Mac because the URLs are pc centric.
He is a rookie flash programmer so I am trying to help him set up proper links to the files, so that the files will (hopefully) launch the proper local app and not a web browers. i.e. if the link points to a PDF, the Adobe Reader is launched; if the link is to a mov file, then QuickTime is launched....
Is there a way to do this? All the tutorials I have found all seem to expect the flash movie to be running on a web server, and as such do not work when running the movie off a CD.
Any help or suggestions would be grealy appreciated.
A response ASAP would also be greatly appreciated as the customer needs to deliver 200 CDs of the project for a presentation tomorrow morning - I have to create the CDs...

I have a local flash file published as 'Access Local Files Only', to allow me to read from local filesystem.
What methods or classes can I use to read text and other files from the user's harddisk.
This is the first time I am trying to do something like this, all help is grealy appreciated.

I did some searching and found that the urlloader class is the right one for the job.
'Access Local Files Only' option is provided for this very purpose I believe.

Homegroup won't allow me to make changes. Some of messages I came across is “Can't open access control editor” or “your system administrator has blocked you” I can save file on Local Disk (C) and I can't view anything from Local Disk C, I can't install softwares,
when I try to troubleshoot problems it says Windows can not access C:\Windows\system32\msdt.exe and when I check diagnose it says ”a problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting.
I tried to refresh it to factory settings when I click get started “no action at all” even tried the options that says Remove everything and reinstall windows, still the was not action then I tried Advanced Start-up but still it didn't work. . . What can

I had saw the JWS document.
It indicate we can't access local disk via JWS in that Security.
If I need to access local disk by command, does anyone have better suggestion.
And can I run *.bat via Java Web Start?

Bust these settings not work for me in Firefox 17.
Yes the drag and drop functionality is java script based and i am not using any script blocker addons.

Managing "Access Levels" on a domain level from Lync 2010 client

Our company moved from Office Communicator 2007 R2 clients to Lync 2010 clients.
Previously in Office Communicator 2007 R2 client, it was possible to set default Access Levels for complete domains (instead of individual users only), using the Access Level Management view.
In the Lync 2010 this options seems to be missing. The management options per user are still there (by right-clicking a user), but the access to manage it for a domain is no longer visible.
Is there any way to manage Access Levels for domains, in a similar way we had in Communicator 2007? It appears that Lync 2010 stilluses the Access Levels set previously for domains, but users do no longer have any possibility to make further updates,
and are stuck (from their perspective at least) with the settings made in 2007 before.

Lync 2010 doesn’t have the feature natively.
With Lync Server 2010, by default, the contacts from federated domains are added as External Contacts.
