Develop option states file access denied

When trying to edit an image in Lightroom, moving from library to develop it tells me "file access denied." I need help please

Then I wonder if this could be a permissions problem either with your folder where the catalog is located or where the images are stored.
Is this something that just started? Have you been using Lightroom, and has it been performing normally?

  • File Access Denied Error trying to load Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7

I am trying to load Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7 64bit & I keep getting File Access Denied. I am unable to read to the disk or to load the program. I do not have the option to open as administrator.

So when you put the disk in it won't run correctly? When the disk is inserted you should have a window pop up with 2 options. 1 to install and the other to see what is on the disk. Choose to explore or open the disk. Go to the CS4 folder where the photoshop .exe file is (that will run the setup), right click on the .exe file and choose run as Admin and it should start. See if it will install. If not then read below.
I am not sure how far you got in the install before so chances are you will have to run the CS4 cleanup utility. 2 levels to run at but don't use 1 or 2 just type in the number 3.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html
You may need to run the windows installer cleanup utility too
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Before you try to reinstall the software ensure that adobe reader is not installed. If it is remove it. It has caused issues in the past with vista and CS4 installs.
Also turn off windows Defender and any anti-virus software. You can keep UAC on in Windows 7.
During the CS4 install at 90 percent it will almost stop and may take 5 to 10 mins to finish. This is normal. What a pain huh......
    After install is finished, reboot
After reboot, go to the CS4 64 bit or 32 bit icon (depends on 32 or 64 bit Windows 7) in start area, right click on CS4 64 bit (if you have windows 7 64 bit) and choose properties, compatibility tab and then check run as Admin at the bottom area. Hit apply, ok to close out.
Now start CS4 and run the updater.

Every other major application running on your system uses
the etc directory for it's Preferences... why can't
Java... The problem isn't that Java shouldn't add requirements for the VM, the problem appears to be that Sun did add requirements, and never told anyone.
I'm looking at the self-extracting installation instructions for Linux, http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/install-linux.html#self-extracting, and nowhere does it state that you must be root in order for the VM to install properly. There is a note about installing to /usr, which you need root access for, but there is no specific requirement that you must be root in order for certain directories to be created properly.
What about applications that distribute a JVM? Did anyone tell these application developers that their users will have to install their software as root?
Maybe I'm missing something. If I am, could someone please point me to it?

  • Sql agent job getting file access denied error

I'm not sure if this question belongs in this forum. Please move it if you want to.
Here is my question. I have an ssis package that is running into an error at the file system task trying to move a file. The package is deployed to the catalog and I am running the package using the stored procedure
    [SSISDB].[catalog].[start_execution] @execution_id
When I execute this stored proc in Management Studio while logged in under a sysadmin, everything works fine. But when I call the same TQL in SQL Agent job, I get a file access denied error. This has something to do with the id that is getting used
to run the package and I am not sure how to track that down. Any help would be appreciated.
I've check the windows permission on both the id that is running the SQL Agent and SQL SSIS Service. Both seem to have the right windows permission.

  • File access denied

I'm not really a computer savy so can someone help me please! I tried to install a dvd photoshop cs4 extended and all I got was a pop up auto play window that said " file access denied". I have  windows 7 and reading some posts I tried to right click on the .exe to run it as an administrative mode but nothing happens when I right click it. Can someone help ?

You say "nothing happens" when you click on the .exe file, do you not get a context menu popping up?
You could try copying the installation package from the DVD to the desktop and trying from there.
[Without wishing to be alarmist, there have been lots of cases of brand new, shrink wrapped copies of Photoshop sold on eBay which turned out to be fakes. See http://forums.adobe.com/message/1636890#1636890]

  • Help! FCP 6.0.6 Export Failed "File Access Denied"

I use HDV video captured via Firewire with a Sony external HDV deck.
In FCP, I use "Easy Setup", Format: HD / Use: HDV-1080i60.
Export using Quicktime (not quicktime conversion) and set export using HDV 1080i60.
No matter the legnth of the sequence, I will get the error message, "File Access Denied", but not until the end of the export! So it will go until the export should be "done", then give me the error message.
All files are on the computer's hard drive, no external hard drives are used to or from when exporting.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Did you COMPLETELY UNINSTALL FCP before you reinstalled it?
Trashing the icon is not enough - there may be corrupt files remaining which will ruin the new installation.
This article tells you how, together with other troubleshooting techniques:-

Alternatively you can use FCP Remover but it will clear everything from the FCS set of apps:-

  • Java error when trying to edit file - access denied

We have been running Vibe 3.0 for a couple years with no issues but suddenly users have begun to get java errors when trying to edit a file from Vibe. When a file entry is opened and the "Edit this file" link is clicked, a dialog pops up that says :
    Error from command:
    java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission <<ALL FILES>> execute)
Has anyone else seen this? Could it be related to some windows security update perhaps? Any ideas how to resolve would be appreciated. This happens with regular users as well as admin.
Vibe is running on SLES 10 with mysql. We are using IIS Windows Authentication.

  • HAL - Unabled to write or access Vignette's HAL log file (access denied)

    Hi everybody,
In Vignette in the EXE, in "LOGGING" tab,
I choose "Enabled logging" "Log Messages to"
    "File" \mfqhaldv01\RAPFIN\DEVL\TRAITEMENT\RAPFIN02_BALVER.log
if I have a access denied on this file, how can I do to know if I have a problem I can't get any information because I don't have access to.
What can I do to see the error message ?
    Thanks & Regards.
    Eric.

One, I would see about getting access to that share. If you can not, I would save off the copy of hte .prp and run it or create a new .exe with a logging path you can access. This has to be done in the HAL studio.....hopefully can just reconfigure and get the file that way.

  • Folders and Files access denied from Server 2008 on Windows 7

I upgraded my server from 2003 to 2008. Now my Windows 7 machines can't open files in the Shared Documents on the server.  Error comes back with access denied.  Can use remote desktop with a Windows 7 machine and have access to the Shared Documents

    Hi,
Plesase check ntfs permisions and share permssions of the shared folder. You could try to set share permissions to Full Control for the Everyone group to see if the issue still exists.

  • Writing Files Access Denied JSP+IAS+W2K

    Hi.
I'm trying to write a file from a JSP to a mapped share unit between a W2K Server (i: as mapped unit) with IAS and a W2K Server with Oracle (c:\loadDir as deposit unit which is mapped by the IAS server) . I already bring all security grants but when the JSP tries to write to the I: unit it answer "access denied".
both machines are in the same workgroup but not inside a domain.
    tks for the help.

I finally find the solutions in a TAR published in metalink. The problem is that the service of IAS runs as a user SYSTEM, this user don't have permissions on the other machine to write.
The solution is to make the service to start as another user that as the enough permissions to write.
hope this help some one else.

  • Download Scheduler files - Access Denied

    Hi,
I am using the download scheduler to download the files in to a windows server. The files are downloading, but all of them are 1 KB files. When i try to open them I see a message .....
    Forbidden
    Access Denied because:
Access denied by access control list.
How should i deal with it? Thanks for the help.
    - Ajay

    Deepu,
The reporting agent template consistency check is successful with consistent results. And, I corrected the errors in the documents in RSRV. The files are downloading in to my desktop, but when i try to download them to the windows server i get the 1 KB files. When i open them this is what shows up....
    <b>Forbidden
    Access is denied because:
Access denied by the access control list.</b>
Does the server need to have the FTP and IIS installed in it to download? Because when i tried to download the same into my desktop and another PC over the LAN(both has FTP & IIS installed), its working fine.
I presume that this is more of a security issue outside SAP than an internal one.
Thanks for the quick replies, really apprecite it.

  • MaxDB KNLDIAG file access denied

    Hi,
I'm a DBA recently assigned to support MaxDB database (ver 7.6) used by
SAP Content Server in our windows 2003/32 bit environments.
Initially, our windows support group granted the DBA group access to
the files on E:\sapdb\data\wrk\CD1 where the KNLDIAG and other files
are allocated. We were able to view the KNLDIAG file when errors
    occurred.
However, when the database instance is placed offine and back online,
we loose access to the KNLDIAG file, but not the other files on the
    same directory/subdirectory.
Can you explain what is happening?
Is MaxDB doing something behind the scenes?
What can be done so that we don't loose access to this file?
I would appreciate any help you can provide.
    Regards,
    Bill

    >
    > Can you explain what is happening?
    Yes, no problem!
    > Is MaxDB doing something behind the scenes?
Of course not - it's well documented
Unlike Oracle MaxDB does not use the same file all the time to write out the error messages.
Instead, with every restart the last file 'KLNDIAG' (and/or 'KNLMSG'  in more recent versions) is renamed to 'KNLDIAG.OLD'. If there is already an 'KNLDIAG.OLD' this file is gone afterwards.
Then a new file is 'KNLDIAG' is created by the MaxDB Kernel with the default permission of the folder.
Usually these are dictated by the Windows account that runs the MaxDB-Service.
If you did not change this, this would be the "local systemaccount".
On my test system this results in default permissions that allow members of "Adminstrators", "Backup Operators", "System" and of course the "Owner/Creator" to access the file.
    > What can be done so that we don't loose access to this file?
Simple: if you want to access it via OS tools, make sure that the user is a member of the "Administrators" or the "Backup Operators" group.
If you don't want to do that, just use the file access via the DBMGUI or DB Studio (or DBMCLI) to get access to the file.
    regards,
    Lars
    p.s.
Maybe you didn't notice that by now - the KNLDIAG file is not simply written at the end of the file, but consists of a startup header part and a body which is cyclically overwritten.
For any newbies I cannot overstate the importance of reading the documentation [http://maxdb.sap.com] and/or get a training for it (SAP course ADM 515 really pays of here...)

  • Windows 2008 R2 - Group Policy Preference - folder option "Open with" Access denied

    Similar to this post:
    social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d42a81bc-96de-4af3-bc41-079e88e6ea4a
We have Citrix terminal servers running Windows 2008 R2 and attempting to force PDF files to open with Acrobat versus PDF editing software we have installed for a small subset of users.  So I created a Group Policy Preference and added a OpenWith item
to the Folder Options to use Acrobat as the default and linked it to a Users OU.  However, if I run gpresult the OpenWith setting fails with error code 0x80070005.  You can change it to not run in the user's security context which eliminates the
error but then it won't actually do anything.
The problem seems to be that when a user sets another program as their default via Windows Explorer the permissions on HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.pdf\UserChoice get changed so that the user is specifically
denied the ability to set that key.  Remove the special permissions added and the group policy succeeds and changes it back to the default ... until the user changes it back (intentionally or otherwise) and the permissions are changed again.
    Any ideas here?

    > Any ideas here?
We use GPP Registry to achieve this goal, so we do not run into that
issue (we unchecked "run in users context", so privs are not an issue)
But I agree, this really should work as intended...
