Develop panels in LH5 won't display

Just installed LH5 and updated to LH5.2  Imported a picture and opened the Develop Module.  No side panels came up and under Panels in the Windows menu, all panel options are greyed.  Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?
Thanks

Use the tab key to hide or show side panels. You can also control the workspace for both sides plus top and bottom strips by pressing the keys F5, F6, F7 and F8.

  • SQL Developer 1.5.1 won't display UI any longer...

    Howdy, y'all; I'm using SQL Developer 1.5.1 on a laptop with Windows XP Pro SP3, fully patched, and 2 GB of memory. I try to run the system efficiently with as few processes and services as necessary, so as to avoid compatibility problems. All other apps, including Office 2K3 are fully patched.
    I'm trying to export data from an Oracle 10.1 instance; it worked for a while, but now SQL Developer doesn't run. In Windows Task Manager, I see "sqldeveloper.exe" as a process using ~95 MB of memory, but no CPU; the UI doesn't appear beyond the startup tips dialog.
    I changed the UI style from "Oracle" to "Windows" in the Preferences dialog, just to see what it would look like. Might this have broken SQL Developer? Don't wanna re-install if it's not necessary.
    Thanks for your assistance.
    Sincerely,
    APJ in The OC, SoCal.

    I had a similar issue, icons and display window was all messed up and mousing over made things worse.
    Solution
    I noticed that errors were being logged on the logging page tab, errors like:
    source : o.jt.ui.themes.ThemeProperties
    Message: Failed to load icon etc.
    Somehow the default Fusion Blue theme has gotten corrupted and I can't get it back. I changed the Theme and now it works fine.  Tools -> Preferences -> Environment -> Theme pulldown box. FYI - I'm using the Oracle look and feel setting.
    Clues
    Logging on as another user on the same machine didn't have problems with the Fusion Blue theme.
    Anyone know where these themes are stored? There should be a error handling routine in the code for this situation.
    _Things that didn't work_
    - Messing with the Java SDK versions
    - Delete and re-install
    - Switching between the versions that did and didn't include the Java SDK
    - Delete c:\documents and settings\user\Application Data\SQL Developer directory didn't work either, but now my DB connections settings are gone. :( At least the software is usable again.

  • Edits Won't Show in Develop Panel

    I just purchased Lightroom 5.2 and am trying to edit without success.  In the Develop panel, I can see and use any of the edit adjustments/sliders on the right.  The edits are visible in the small photo in the filmstrip area at the bottom of the page but no changes occur to the main screen image as they are applied.  Behavior is the same regardless of file type (.jpg or .NEF).
    The photos will accept edits in the Library panel (quick edits) and apply/display them to the main screen image.
    Is this is setting issue, bug, etc?

    ooh please someone respond. I'm having this exact issue now. i have even tried to re-install an older version with no success.

  • Noise reduction won't display properly in LR 3.4.1 Develop Module

    I encountered this issue first time last night - noise reduction will not show in "Fit" view of the Develop module for pictures that have a graduated filter applied as well. Having said this,
    - The pictures display correctly in Library Loupe view (Fit and 100%)
    - The pictures display correctly in Develop module when zooming in to 100%
    - The pictures display correctly in Develop module when clicking in history on Luminance smoothing (first picture). Selecting the next step in the history, Add Graduated Filter, displays the picture without noise reduction (second picture - I tried on a virtual copy the other way round - first have a graduated filter and then apply noise reduction, but doesn't work either. Noise reduction just won't display in Develop module / Fit View once a graduated filter is applied as well.
    Has anyone else seen this behaviour or, even better, found a solution? I already tried purging the raw cache, no success. Working on Windows 7 / 64bit.
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Jeff, I had difficulty understanding this same issue as presented at the link I posted above. With my low-noise Canon DSLR RAW images I simply couldn't see the onscreen rendering issues they were talking about. It even appeared this might be unique to Mac platforms and Windows 32 bit OS, since my Windows 7 64bit system didn't appear to have this issue.
    Following suggestions to shoot a picture at -4 F stops and then increase exposure by +4 F stops in LR helped me get a better understanding:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3857767#3857767
    Granted this is an extreme shooting situation, but it helps demonstrate what happens when using exposure, fill and HSL sliders to increase exposure significantly (+2 to +4 EV) in specific areas of the image. Now you have noise that will be visible in smaller exported scaled images, perhaps even those sized for posting to the web.
    The issue is at lower ISO settings (camera specific), view sizes less than 1:1 have no noise reduction applied (Mac & Windows) or sharpening applied (Mac & Windows 32). There appear to be platform differences in the way sharpening is applied, because on my Windows 7 64bit system sharpening is applied at all ISO and all view sizes including "fit" view, but noise reduction is only applied at higher ISO settings – the same as all others have described. I wanted to point this out since it is one of the reason I had difficulty duplicating what the OP was seeing.
    We know sharpness and noise reduction settings interact with each other, so it is important to have both applied in the onscreen image to determine their affect. Using images with additive Exposure, Fill and HSL slider settings approaching +2 to +4 EV, there is simply no way to see accurate rendering without both noise reduction and sharpness applied at all view sizes, including “fit” view. This can occur with low ISO images, not just at some predetermined camera specific high ISO where noise becomes predominant.

  • TOC Won't Display in WinHelp

    I am updating a WinHelp project that was previously developed
    in X3 but which I am now trying to update and compile in RoboHelp 7
    for Word. The TOC won't display (i.e., the TOC navigation panel at
    the left doesn't display) when the help is launched. When viewing
    the TOC in the single panel window by clicking the Help Topics
    button, the links do work. There is a CNT file. I tried deleting
    the GID file (as suggested by Adobe), and using the old CNT file
    that worked in the previous version of the project. Anyone else
    experience this with RoboHelp 7?

    We're getting the same issue here. We compile - looks great. We copy the hlp and cnt files to another computer and the TOC disappears. We're using RoboHelp for Word and have been since v5. Can anyone help on this? All topics are there; links work, graphics great, but the Table of Contents has vanished.
    If I run the AutoGenerate TOC function, the TOC disappears completely from the system. Bear in mind, this is the same file we've been working from for the last 3 years and up until now has been working. We recently updated to v7 and upgraded again to v8 today.
    I really appreciate any guidance anyone can give.

  • Why does Auto Tone button in Quick Develop panel fail with Win 7 platform?

    I have been a user of Photoshop since the inception of Photoshop CS.  I recently purchased a subscription to Photoshop CC, which comes with Photoshop Lightroom 5.
    I have never used Lightroom, so I purchased the Kindle version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, CLASSROOM IN A BOOK.  I have this eBook installed on the same Windows 7 PC that I have Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5 installed on.
    I ran into a problem in a section of the first chapter titled “Using Quick Develop in the Library module.”  This section, in part, instructs how to quickly improve the color tonal balance of an image.
    After selecting the required image from the sample images for this lesson, I found the histogram in my Lightroom 5 Loupe view to be the same as the lesson’s photo illustration for this original image.  As described in the lesson, the photo did not have a balanced tonal distribution.
    I followed the lesson’s instruction:  “4. In the Quick Develop panel, watch the tone distribution curve shift in the Histogram panel as you click the Auto Tone button.  Although the automatic adjustment hasn’t done a perfect job with this particular photo, there is substantial improvement; a lot of image detail has been recovered from the overexposed hair and face and there is more depth in the mid-tones. The contrast, however, remains unimpressive, and the darker areas still look flat.”  (See Adobe Creative Team [2013-08-06]. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5: Classroom in a Book [Kindle Locations 1024-1026]. Pearson Education. Kindle Edition.)
    This is where I ran into a problem.  After clicking on the Auto Tone Button in the Quick Develop panel, my results were completely different than what was described and shown in the Histogram displayed in the lesson.  Instead, in my Lightroom 5, clicking the Lightroom Auto Tone button has increased the exposure, making it even more over exposed than the original image!  Therefore continuing to follow the instructions in the lesson was a waste of time, since my Auto Tone results were so totally out of sync from that of the lesson.
    This disturbed me, so I decided to open the same sample image in Photoshop CC, Camera RAW 8.2.  Camera RAW provides an Auto Button which improves exposure and color tonal balance to an image.  The results were exactly the same as the Auto Tone functionality in the Quick Develop panel in Lightroom 5.  I couldn't understand why the lesson instructor's results were so positive and mine were so disastrous.  Then it hit me!  I discovered that the lesson writer of this Adobe Classroom in a Book was using Lightroom 5 on a MAC computer.  I could tell by looking at his lesson images.  Just to be sure, I tried this lesson scenario on a different PC with Win 7, Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5.  I got the same failed results.
    I’ve heard from other professionals that Photoshop and Lightroom software only work properly on Apple computers.  I’ve always thought that this was a myth, but have infrequently experienced a good result using the Auto button feature in Photoshop Camera Raw on a Windows PC platform, so I don’t use it often.
    What really has me frustrated is the fact that Adobe no longer has a direct way to report software defects to their tech support or process improvement  teams.  Their online bug reporting process is woefully inadequate.  I've tried twice to create a support ticket on the Adobe site, only to have my case withdrawn mysteriously.  I've tried their online chat, telephone support, and sent emails with image attachments to the address provided by their agent on the telephone.  My email goes unanswered and my open cases somehow get closed.
    Any ideas on how to get this issue addressed by Adobe are sincerely appreciated.

    Adobe tries to improve the Auto Tone function from time-to-time.  I used to completely underexpose an image that had a few bright spots such as car headlights turned on in an otherwise properly exposed image.  This is probably what you’re seeing, LR now guessing brighter more of the time, and it might change, again, in a future version so don’t be too concerned.
    As others have said, Auto Tone works on some images and not on others, and Adobe can only try to make it work better on more images by changing how it works on all images.  For the lesson example, the author purposely used an image that was improved with auto-tone that LR did at the time of authorship.   You will never have a picture exactly like the lesson’s example, either, so it’s not that important if the lesson is 100% accurate for future versions of LR, just that the general idea that some pictures are improved in certain ways by Auto Tone will still be applicable, and you’ll need to learn, by trial and error, what to do when Auto Tone doesn’t work well or the image needs further adjustment.  That is the important lesson, what to do with your own pictures.
    You can reset a particular slider after a bad Auto Tone by double clicking on that slider.  The Exposure slider is the one I reset most often.
    You can also LR set the Auto Tone value for just one slider by holding down the Shift key and double clicking on that one slider.  I do this a lot for the Blacks slider to set the black point, without messing up everything else.

  • Database field won't display

    I'm new to Crystal Reports in .NET but I do have my 1st report working except for one field that I'm trying to use in a sub report.  It's in my database fields just like the other field for the sub report.  I can see data for both fields in the Browse Data.  One field and it's heading display just fine but I can't see the other one anywhere.  The field heading that's created when I drag it into the Detail area won't display in the report either.  I've tried deleting the field and readding it but nothing helps.  As far as I know I've done nothing to suppress this field from printing.  I REALLY need to get this working.  Thanks for your help.

    Hello Paul,
    I recommend to post this query to the [.NET Development - Crystal Reports|SAP Crystal Reports, version for Visual Studio; forum.
    That forum is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
    Also, all Crystal Reports .NET Development queries remain in one place and thus can
    be easily searched in one place.
    Thanks a lot,

  • Java 3D won't display anything

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get Java3D demos to run so I can begin developing a game. The problem is I get nothing but a blank white square the size of the intended 3D display. Everything I've tried (the list is long) has had no effect. When attempted through a DOS window I get an endless repeating list of : "wglCreateContext Failed: the pixel format is invalid".
    The updated drivers for the ATI radeon 9000 pro (all in wonder) shows openGL (classic) is active but nothing 3D is displayed, everything else in Java (2d, swing components, etc.) all displays normally. I've updated DirextX and tried reinstalling Java3D for that format but no change. I'm not familiar with any 3D graphics programming (yet) and it's difficult to understand what won't display. I have posted a bug report with Sun after searching for similar bugs, but all related bugs just show "closed: fixed". Has anyone had this problem or have any clue what I might try (other than waiting) to resolve this issue? Thanks,
    Jerromy

    There are known issues with ATI drivers and java 3D that cause behavior like this. I don`t use direct-X so I can`t sugget anything, except to search the forums at http://forums.java.net/jive/forum.jspa?forumID=70
    to see if your ATI card has a workaround

  • Flash builder 4.7 as plugin won't display asdoc

    Hi,
    on windows 7 x64, I just installed Flash Builder 4.7 x64 on my existing eclipse 4.2 x64 (using "the Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Plug-in Utility") and the asdoc popup won't display anything but the current element. If I start the standalone Flash Builder, using the same workspace and same project, it works fine. Do I need to configure something else so it works as a plugin?

    My mistake...
    There was a typo into the XML application descriptor, that prevented the app to install properly on the device.
    Precisely, it wasn't a typo but raher a malformed <intent-filter> node. I launched adb tool from the console with adb install MyApp.apk command, and I saw this : Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_MANIFEST_MALFORMED] in the terminal. From here it was easy to find the culprit.
    What would be cool is to have this feature inside the Flash Builder's Console panel.

  • JButton subclass won't display

    I have defined XYButton as a subclass of JButton that contains some coordinate (x,y) information. For some reason, when adding my XYButtons to my frame, I only ever get one button. Whereas when I add regular JButtons, they get added as expected. Why? What's wrong with my code?
    public class XYButton extends JButton {
        private int x;
        private int y;
        public XYButton(int x, int y) {
            this.x = x; this.y = y;
        public int getX() {
            return x;
        public int getY() {
            return y;
    }The code that uses XYButton is as follows:
       myFrame = new JFrame("Weird button behavior!");
             Container container = myFrame.getContentPane();
             container.setLayout(new FlowLayout());
             container.add(new XYButton(0,0)); //will display
             container.add(new JButton("3"));
             container.add(new XYButton(0,1)); //won't display!!!!!! why?
             container.add(new Button("4"));
             container.add(new Button("5"));
             container.add(new Button("6"));
             myFrame.pack();
             myFrame.setVisible(true);Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,
    This is because that the values which you are passing is considered as the X-co-ordinate and Y-Coordinate because of which when you provide
    (0,0) you are able to see the Button
    but when(0,1) is given button is created on the panel,instead you cant see it since it is exactly at the back of the (0,0) button.Kind of overlapping is taking place.
    If there is any wrong from my suggestion/help,request all to correct me.
    Thanks
    regards,

  • Firefox won't display ANY videos, but Chrome/IE will.

    It's all in the title really. FF won't display any videos. In Youtube, the screen is black, apart from the red "play" button in the middle. When I click play it says "an error has occurred". In any other video sites the video section is blank, white. I have uninstalled/reinstalled both Firefox and Adobe Flash Player. Firefox is also fully updated.

    hello, yes, you'd have to uninstall flash from the windows control panel in windows7 (just diabling it in firefox won't work in this case). alternatively you could run the uninstaller-tool that adobe provides on its website: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

    I have the latest Java software and can load the above feed in IE but not Mozilla. I can also load a similar Java feed from

    (Glad to see you're still lurking around here, Wyrenut.  Your posts have helped me tremendously.  And this comes form somebody who has run and internal developer's support group for quite a few years.)
    I also started having this problem after getting my TX hooked up through my home network.  I had to set up a wireless access point with only WPA security to get around having to change the WPA2 security on all my other equipment.  I applied the ESU upgrade, but that didn't seem to help with WPA2 Personal.  Previously, I could get at least half of the pages to come up through the open hotspot in the lobby of our building at work, but I haven't tried that since I applied the ESU upgrade this morning.
     I can get to the internet through the access point using a laptop, and I can see the IP address of the Palm coming through the access point on the router's admin page, and the DNS addresses of the PC and the Palm are the same.  So I think I'm through, but every page I try gets the 'Page not available' message, even if I enter the IP address of the page rather than the URL.
    Is there any other method of debugging available to see if the page is really coming back and locking up Blazer, or whether it's really not coming back at all?  Or any other suggestions?
    Personally, I sort of liked the old Internet Explorer that counted off how many K were coming through as the page was being loaded.  At least you could tell something was happening.
    Thanks,

  • Developer Panel is Blank. How To Restore?

    In  Lightroom 3, the Developer panel is now blank. It used to display an array of tools. How can I restore these tools?

    Good grief. How could I have missed that little arrow that shows or hides the tools? Probably because I seldom hide tools. Oh well. This is exactly the kind of solution one hopes for from a forum like this. Thanks.

  • [SOLVED] ePDFView won't display all pictures

    I'm having some issues with my ePDFView PDF reader. There are alot of pictures it simply won't display. About 25% of the pictures (in average) in my PDF documents shows up as grey blocks with the same shape and size as the original picture. This is the case for external documents (made by others), and my own home cooked ones.

    Hmm, indeed. I hadn't noticed that. It seems that even the upstream website is down. I mainly use zathura, but epdfview has been working fine whenever I do use it.

  • CameraRaw.dll (v4.0.0.1) how much is it involved in develop panel?

    When I get to the detail section of the develop panel for capture sharpening and noise adjustment is when I can expect the flashing screen and intermittent ' Lightroom is not responding'.
    If I'm going to do any local brush adjustments or graduated filter I have found it better be done before the noise removal otherwise working in those two areas contribute to white outs on the whole develop window
    Although I have only had two crashes through this month of accumulating 380 new test images both involved the cameraraw.dll (exception code: 0xc0000005) and the occurence was after applying the  noise removal then going up to the local adjustments. The lens profile is left to the last
    Editing the capture sharpening and the noise removal amounts will create the same flashing and not responding.
    The available memory is not used up although the task manager does display a very low number in the free section.
    Windows 7 4 core 8G ram -Ati video 5800 and latest drivers.
    I just wondered if there was a connection or if this info would be of use to the persons revising the software code.
