Developed in Jdev 11.1.1.2 and deployed into stand alone WLS 10.3.1

Hi Gurus,
Currently we are using JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 and deployed a sample web application into integrated WLS and its working fine with skins and page-templates.
We are using stand alone Weblogic 10.3.1 version.
When i deployed the same application(developed in jdev 11.1.1.2.0) into stand alone WLS 10.3.1, the skins and page-templates are not working.
Am i missing any thing at the time of deployment?
Please share your valuable suggestions and ideas on this.
Thanks
Mahi.

We don't certify this combination - you should be using the same subversion of WLS and JDeveloper.
You need to make sure the JRF/ADF libraries on the server match the version in JDeveloper.

Jay,
you can't run jdev 11.1.2 apps on a wls 10.3.4 server. The adf runtime libraries are different and you get exactly the error you see. Spare your time trying to get it running...
The sherman patch (patch 12611176) is only available via http://support.oracle.com/ (you need avalid support contract). If you have one read my blog about installing the patch http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/06/25/upgrading-wls-10-3-5-with-adf-runtime-11-1-2-0-0-sherman-patch/ andhttp://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/06/29/follow-up-upgrading-wls-10-3-5-with-adf-runtime-11-1-2-0-0-sherman-patch/.
If you really want to use 11.1.2 apps you have to update your wls server to 10.3.5 first, then apply the patches...
If you can't update you have to user jdve 11.1.1.4.0 together with wls10.3.4

• BlackBerry Link and syncing Contacts, Calendar and Tasks with stand-alone desktop installation of Outlook 2010?

I have used Blackberries in business since the beginning. Fantastic products!
Sadly after spending the better part of Feb 6th transitioning from Torch to Z10 I have had to abandon the effort and request an RMA number to return the Z10.
Here is why:
"Link" appears to be focussed on syncing documents and media like content such as music and movies but does not, from what I can tell, sync Outlook Contacts, Calendar entries or Tasks. I have never bothered putting music or movies on a BB... never had the time to fuss with such... however, I use, edit and sync my Contacts, Calendar and Tasks between my Torch and my desktop PC every day... as in EVERY day!
From a review of postings on various forums there does not appear to be a solution in the works to this problem and the trend appears to be to use a Cloud based email or service to host such "PIM" information and then sync the handheld to the Cloud repository. This method MAY be suitable for some forms of info but it is not suitable to post such personal info on the cloud... it needs to stay on the desktop and in the handheld device, both of which are password protected and looked after carefully.
This is an odd situation, BB (RIM) cut their teeth on pages, emails, BBM and great cell calls, mainly in a business environment. Many small business users live and die on their BB. They do not run Exchange Server... they run Outlook stand alone on a desktop. To remove this functionality from the Z10 (BB10 overall perhaps) seems at best to be a serious oversight.
I wish BB the best with the Z10 and hope to see it do well. For me, I had to make a choice between the efficiency and effectiveness of syncing Outlook Contacts, Calendar and Tasks with the Torch, or hand feeding and maintaining thousands of constantly changing entries into what is undoubtedly a more powerful and wonderful looking Z10. Efficiency and effectiveness won over brawn and beauty. The Torch is back on line... It's a tool... a really great tool! Tomorrow it will process a hundred emails, numerous SMS messages, a few BBM's, keep me on time and feed me a bunch of useful phone numbers and addresses as it has for a couple of years now. It will also spend an hour or so teathered to my laptop at a remote location where there is cell coverage but no internet. It will NOT display any movies, tweats, twits, or facebook stuff that I won't have time to look at anyway. The fast, powerful, shiny Z10 is heading in an RMA bag back to Telus.
I have a sort of sick feeling in my gut and hope to be able to sync again in the future!

my feelings and my situation excatly

• Can I move web developer tools out of the sub-menu and back into 'tools'?

I'm sure there are many who like this new sub menu for web developer, but for me it's a waste of time. Is there an option to allow me to move the contents of "Tools->Web developer" back into tools? It would save me time and, I might actually start liking a firefox vision other than 3.6.. Thanks

Hi Crewman06, you wrote:
''the extension suggested does not allow for the kind of change to the menu structure that I'm looking for.''
The extension's UI doesn't let you dive into submenus, but you can "hack" the extension's RDF data file. For example, to move the Web Console to the bottom of the Tools menu, you can insert a new <NC> item for it, e.g., as the first <NC> item in the file menuedit.rdf:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<RDF:RDF xmlns:NC="http://home.netscape.com/NC-rdf#"
xmlns:RDF="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#">
<NC:Menuitem RDF:about="http://home.netscape.com/NC-rdf#webConsole"
NC:Visibility="visible"
NC:Name="Web Console" />
Then you can edit the listing in the file for the Tools menu by adding it to the bottom:
<RDF:Seq RDF:about="NC:menu_ToolsPopup">
''{lines omitted}''
<RDF:li RDF:resource="http://home.netscape.com/NC-rdf#webConsole"/>
</RDF:Seq>
That's a pain, but at least it's an option if you want to use it.
For reference, here are some of the others -- the id and name you will need to create the NC entries:
#menu_devToolbar = Developer Toolbar
#menu_pageinspect = Inspect
#menu_responsiveUI = Responsive Design View
#menu_debugger = Debugger
#menu_remoteDebugger = Remote Debugger
#menu_ChromeDebugger = Browser Debugger
#menu_scratchpad = Scratchpad
#menu_styleeditor = Style Editor
#menu_pageSource = Page Source

• Configuring 9iAS and 9iDS on stand-alone WIN XP Pro

I've been trying to finish up assignments for class using Forms Builder from 9iDS, and now when I try to run a form after it has been compiled I get this message:
FRM-10142: The HTTP listener is not running on <computer name> at port 8889. Please start the listener or check your runtime preferences.
I've read through various websites, along with Oracle, that talk about configuring the HTTP listener. And all of them mention an Oracle Application Server Manager 4.0. I cannot find such a component in my installation of 9iAS.
The TNS Listener seems to be running fine. I'm able to connect to the database, and run various services. Can you tell me how I can get an HTTP Listener configured?
A Question that was asked was if I was running the form as a web-form or as client-server? The HTTP listener is only involved when attempting to run the form as a "web-form".
Also, for some reason, the DEMO schema did not get installed. Where would I find this?

No one that i've heard about if installing from slipstreamed sp2 cd.
The only ones with problems i've noticed is peps that have all kind of software and drivers installed pre sp2 upgrade .
And the upgrade goes bad caused by unidentified installed software and/or drivers that crash with the A64 combined with sp2 DEP technology.

• Create a Generic Data Source and deploy a webservice on a domain using WLST

Hello for everyone,
I usually create generic data sources and deploy webservices on a wls domain by using the Administrator Console. I wonder if you can pass me a script sample to do this task by using WSLT. On the other hand, if you can pass me a "quick start" guide about WLST, this would be very helpful.
Additionally, may I be able to create groups, application roles and users to a domain by using WLST?
Thanks for your help.

You can use standard infoobjects as well..
You can create a view on those R/3 tables and use this view for creating a generic datsource in RSO2 transaction..
Check the below pdf for delta in generic datasources

• Develop in JDev 10.1.3.5, test and deploy to Oracle Weblogic 11g

Hi,
I have run into some important issues when trying to migrate my Jdev 10.1.3.5 applications to JDev 11g for deployment to the latest Oracle Weblogic Application server version, see threads:
Thread: migration problems ADF/ Struts 10.1.3 -> 11.1.1.3
migration problems ADF/ Struts 10.1.3 -> 11.1.1.3
Thread: ADF/Swing/JClient application migration problem from 10.1.3.5 to 11.1.1.3
Re: ADF/Swing/JClient application migration problem from 10.1.3.5 to 11.1.1.3
- so using JDev 10.1.3.5 with deployment to Oracle Weblogic 11g is a must for us.
Questions:
1) Is there a way to use Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 for debugging inside JDev 10.1.3.5?
2) Can I develop with JDev 10.1.3.5 + JDK 1.5 and create an ear to deploy to Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 Application server with JDK 1.6 64bits?
3) Which version of ADF should I install on Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 to run my 10.1.3.5 application?
Your help will be appreciated
Fred

Is there a way to use Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 for debugging inside JDev 10.1.3.5?While you can't replace the embedded OC4J - you can use an external WLS server and do remote debugging on it. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/remotedebugwls-086628.html
From inside JDeveloper you can also deploy directly to the WLS server.
Can I develop with JDev 10.1.3.5 + JDK 1.5 and create an ear to deploy to Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 Application server with JDK 1.6 64bits?Yes you can. Note that so far we haven't officially certified ADF 10.1.3 on WLS 10.3 - but from various customers and testings we think it works ok. We might certify this combination in the future.
Follow these steps to get the deployment working:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/deployingwls-091640.html
Which version of ADF should I install on Oracle WEBLOGIC 10.3 to run my 10.1.3.5 application? You always install the version of ADF that matches the one your application was developed and compiled with.

• Developing with JDev 10.1.3.0.1 for BPEL 10.1.2.0.2

Hi,
Does anyone knows if it is possible or adviseble to develop with JDev 10.1.3.0.1 to deploy the processes in OC4J BPEL 10.1.2.0.2?
If it is, is there any issues involved?
Tks

in general you could develop bpel 10.1.2.02 compliant processes, but it would create a bunch of possible hazards you could run into - deployment structure, new services, workflow and so on .. add'ly you cannot deploy from jdev 10.1.3.1 to bpel 10.1.2.0.2 server -- all in all not really recommendable, and not really supported too :D

• Unable to create/use Java 1.3.1 library in JDev 10.1.2.1 and 10.1.3 EA

Hi !
I'm working on a project that uses jdk1.3.1_03.
I use Jdev 10.1.2 and want to migrate to either JDev 10.1.2.1 (latest production version) or 10.1.3 EA (Early Access).
With JDev 10.1.2, I have no issue.
However, with JDev 10.1.2.1 or 10.1.3 EA, i have an error message as soon as I try to create/use a J2SE 1.3.1_03 definition :
Title : Java Virtual Machine Launcher
Error message : Could not find main class. Program will exit!
Is there a workaround ?
Is J2SE 1.3.1 no longer supported ?
If it is no longer supported, why did this happen between 2 minor versions of JDev (10.1.2 and 10.1.2.1)
Thank you in advance for your answers !
Thomas

I don't use JDK 1.3.1 to start JDev.
I know/use two ways to create the 1.3.1 library :
- Project Properties
then in the tree view : Profiles/Development/Libraries and then 'new' button
- Menu 'Tools/Manage Libraries'
then 'J2SE Definition' Tab and 'new' button
Both methods end with the error mentioned before when I select the 1.3.1 java executable after a click on 'browse' in JDev 10.1.2.1 and 10.1.3 EA.
As i wrote, the same actions in JDev 10.1.2 work perfectly.

Hi,
libraries can be added on the project level. Open the project properties (context menu) and choose the library node. I am afraid, but I don' think there is a tutorial that explains end-to-end what is your development assignment

We have developed a desktop application using Flash software and published the same for MAC environment. When we double click on the index.app file, the application is working perfectly in Mac 10.6.7 at our office. But if the same index.app file is double clicked in Mac 10.6.7 at out clients location, its not opening. For your information the client is able to open this same application by double clicking on index.swf file. The main problem is that client is not able to open the application using index.app file at their office whereas we are able to do so at our office. Can anyone give some suggestions to sort this problem?

The most common reason is different versions of Flash, or different versions of web browsers used. Some users may elect to not have Flash installed at all because of the processor overhead of Flash. If you are going to make an application for a client, check what operating system and browser versions they are using first. Then determine if a stand alone application is required, or if they have the necessary plugins to run specific browser enhanced code.
P.S. MAC is an acronym for Media Access Control. Mac is the shorthand for Macintosh, the operating system and computers made by Apple Inc.

• How can I handle deploying multiple test systems on the same PC that have been developed using different versions of LabVIEW, TestStand, and/or Switch Executive?

The major issue here is that the test systems must be documented and validated before being released to the production floor. Given this if a test station has multiple test systems deployed on it that have been developed on various versions of LV, TS, and Switch exec how can I force the test system selected to use the correct versions of TS, LV, and Switch exec.? I understand that the solution would be to recomplie everything and bring them up to the latest version but that would then require re-validation according to the QA department. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
It would be nice if theTS deployment was more like an LV executable... meaning when a LV executable is launched it always knows what LV runtime engine to use when there are multiple engines installed on a PC.

Hi,
Multiply versions of teststand can reside on the same system, but only one version can run at a time. They is a utility that has to be run to set the active version.
The SequenceFiles have a version number, and you will find an error will be generate if you try to Load the sequencefile in the wrong version of TestStand.
The labview VIs will only work providing the correct version of the RTE is also installed on your system, even a labview executabe requires the correct RTE to be installed, either as part of the executable installation or as a seperate installation, before the labview exe will work correctly.
I'm not fimilar with the Switch exec but I would expect that it will also require the correct lower level device drivers to be available for the version you are using.
Therefore, as you are indicating that some of your system are at a older version, its difficult to image how you could achive this, considering if you say you have different versions of the software(s). For a start, you may have the problem that newer code/ sequencefiles using additional functionatily not available in the older versions.
I would think your only solution would be to have different deployments covering the different versions you have, or at least bring all your test systems up to the same version of teststand.
