Developer 1.3.2 and DG/UX
We are trying to install Developer 1.3.2 in an Aviion box from Data General with DG/UX Release R4.20MU06.
We have a problem because the instaler can't view, so can't open, the *.prd files from CD-ROM.
Any help will be appreciated.
TIA
G. Frangois
The ROW ID issues is something that affected forms 3. We do not certify de-supported products against the new releases so while
i MAY work it is not a certified combination.

I bought a brand new Mac 27" desktop that came loaded with Adobe CS6. Everything worked like a charm until the hard drive, 1Tb, developed a bad sector and the Apple Store reinstalled a new one as I had extended warranty with them. They recycled the drive immediately (like a fool I didn't ask for it back to get the data off it.) But luckily I have all my data on CrashPlan. I downloaded it and it worked great except I downloaded it to the desktop and not the original location so it got squirrely. I also have an external 1.5Tb drive that I wanted to make bootable so I installed Mavericks 10.9.3 . I then went ahead and installed it on the newly installed drive too.
I think that because I have a new drive Adobe thinks I have a news computer. I bought the 27" Mac brand new from Ebay and it came loaded with software, including CS6. I have a serial number for CS6 but Adobe said it wasn't valid. (I have owned CS2, CS4 and now CS6 which came preloaded onto the Mac by the seller who told me that the software was registered to the Mac???
I am going to re-download the backup but this time to the original location (I still don't think it will work with Adobe. What can I do about this?

SQL Developer 1.5.3 and Subversion: Unable to commit
Hi all.
I use SQL Developer v1.5.3 along with Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 on Windows XP. For maintaining a local codebase, I have started using subversion. Problem is I'm unable to commit changes, I get an error message:

Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 EA1 and 1.5.5 not working on MacOS X Snow Leopard
Currently, the Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 EA1 and 1.5.5 are not working on MacOS X Snow Leopard. Is there a plan to support the actual version of OS X?
When I try to start the MacOS X-Download I always get the following errors using MacOS X 10.6.1:

I don't have any problems with my OS instead of you.
I have already told you what to do, if you have no idea how to do that just go and buy yourself another support subscription from your mac support.
The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system. check that.
what version of JAVA do you have in your fancy OS? most of the time upgrade java to the latest version will fix the issues.
Update java from sun website not from another mac tore. -

Rosealani SolisWhen you post in the iMac forum be sure to give your iMac model identifies no. i.e., iMac X,X, which can be found by going to your Applications/Utilities folder and launching System Information.app. In the Hardware Overview section you'll see the Model Identifier.
Give them the system you're running and details of what you're experiencing and when.

SQL Developer 3.0.04 and 10g
Downloaded SQL Developer 3.0.04 to interface to a 10g server. I encountered the now infamous no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path problem which is described in other forum posts. Upon reading, my understanding is that more recent versions of Developer require an 11 client. Workarounds include 1) backing up to previous versions of Developer or 2) downloading and using instantclient. I chose the 2 ^nd^ option.
Instantclient got rid of the ocijdbc11 error, but now I'm seeing Internal Error: Fetch error message failed!
There doesn't seem to be much help available on the Oracle site or forums, and I'm hoping that someone else has seen and solved this problem.
Any guidance for this Oracle newbi is appreciated. Thanks! There is another workaround - set the Use OCI/Thick drive option off.
Tools|Preferences|Database|Advanced.
This won't work if you need OCI for specific functions not supported by the thin driver. -
SQL Developer 3.2.09 and excess memory usage
This is really something that will ultimately end up as a bug-fix request, I'm thinking, but I was wondering if anyone else is seeing the same thing, before I report it.
We're using SQL Developer 3.2.09 in a Citrix environment, and we're finding that it's using up an inordinate amount of memory, causing performance problems for anyone else with applications open on the server. We haven't seen any patterns so far ... like if it's a side-effect of having the tool open for long periods of time (memory leak), or if certain activities within the tool are prone to using up too much memory.
Has anyone else experienced the same thing when running SQL Developer on their desktop, or in Citrix? And have you been able to tune it at all?
Thanks,
--=ChuckSQL Developer is java based and relies on the jvm's memory management.
I'm not aware of any memory leaks as such, but memory tends not to be returned to the system.
Queries which return large return sets tend to use a lot of memory (SQL Developer has to build a java table containing all the results for display).
You can restrict the maximum memory allocated by modifying settings in in <sqldeveloper>\ide\bin\ide.conf

Partial solution for sql developer 2.1 EA2 and 9i db
While this bug resolved, I have found a solution to use sql developer 2.1 EA2 and db 9i.
The solution has been to mix two post:
1.- Re: 2.1: Packages and compilation icons
2.- Issue with viewing packages in SQL Developer EA2
The problem seems to be acces to the tables ALL_PLSQL_OBJECT_SETTINGS and DBA_PLSQL_OBJECT_SETTINGS , deleting the reference in the xml file that it's at the post 1, I can see the Packages, Procedures and Functions of db 9i.In SQL Developer 2.1, the CVS and Perforce extensions will be available through the Check for Updates facility. We will update the Check for Updates this week, so that you can use them with SQL Developer EA2.

what is prereq for reading above, and for start develop/reading with flex and cf(level?) ?The Flex Quickstarts will be a place for starters, if you want to know
about Flex/CF integration the first to know would be some basics of CF.

How to delete developer's SAP UserID and his SSCR key on SMP?
How to delete developer's SAP UserID and his SSCR key on SMP?
Dear Experts,
Background:
I want to delete developer's SAP UserID and SSCR key in QAS and SMP.
Because as I known, developer's SAP UserID(registered SSCR key) is belonging to the SAP License measurement.
I want to rid of the useless developer's SAP userID and the SSCR key registered on SMP.
====================Here below is the message I created===================
Dear Expert,
One of our developers whom registered SSCR key left, I want to delete
his SAP UserID and his SSCR key.Can you pls tell me how to implement?
What might have happened(expecially the downside) in the corresponding
SAP Client if I delete the developer's SAP UserID and SSCR key? Will
it cause our system screw up?
I've searched the answer on SDN. Someone told me I should carry out the
follow steps below:
(1)Delete the Developer's SSCR key on Service Market Place(SMP).
(2)Cancel all the Jobs defined by the Developer in DEV.
(3)SU01, Replace the value 'Developer' with Blank at the 'LicenceData'
lable.
(4)Delte corresponding item of the Developer in 'DEVACCESS' table.
(5)Lock/Delete the Developer.
Is that right?
Thanks!
Jason
====================Here below is the reply from SAP===================
Dear Customer,
When the SSCR Developer/Object keys are transfered to the system, the
keys are stored in the following tables:
o DEVACCESS : Developer keys
o ADIRACCESS: Object keys
But we do not have any report programs to delete the entries from these
tables. If the customer wants to delete the entries, he has to write a
local program to delete the table entries.
SAP does not recommend ever cleaning out these developer keys, as long
as the user ID is Locked / Deleted, that is the main thing.
please Cancel all the Jobs defined by the Developer in DEV.
So my recommendation to you is to first lock the user id of the user.
Then Assign him a new userid which is not identical to the first one andthen subsequently delete the old userid.
If you have an absolute need to delete a developer key without deleting
a user then the easiest way to do this is probably to
write a report with the instruction :
delete from DEVACCESS where UNAME = ....
Please note :
There is no recording, who did what in the table, that is why SAP strong-ly does not recommend this, and customers will have to take responsibil-ity for this action.
Thanks
====================My question is:===================
Do you have any better suggestions?Hi,Rahul,Raghunandan
Thank you very much!
Her below were the SAP Support's main suggestions:
1. Lock the user id of the user, then Assign him a new userid which is not identical to the first one and then subsequently delete the old userid.
2. If you have an absolute need to delete a developer key without deleting a user then the easiest way to do this is probably to write a report.
I want to know if I can delete the SSCR key directly via a particular TX? If I can, what is it? (I just want to know. For safety, I think I won't delete the SSCR key directly remained in 'DEVACCESS'.)
Thanks!

How to download LabVIEW Full Development System 7.1 and tool kit
I want to get the "LabVIEW Full Development System 7.1 and tool kit", Where Can I download it from?
TIALabVIEW 7.1 is ancient, LabVIEW 2011 is current. There is more than one "toolkit". What did you have in mind, exactly?
You can donwload an evaluation version of LabVIEW 2011 from here. Is there any specific reason you want to use 7.1?
If you have a valid license for LabVIEW 2011 you should be able to use it also for older versions. Contact your local NI representative. Are you on SSP?

Developer 2000 1.0 and Windows 2000
Hi everybody
We got a little problem here. Our database is 8i (8.1.7) running in Linux, but in our workstations, where developers work, are NT 4.0 with Developer 2000 1.0 (You know, Forms Designer 4.5 and stuff). Our application was built with Developer 2000 1.0 and this is the product that is installed in our clients (the runtime only for normal users) We're still in a client/server world here. We would like to go from NT to 2000 Professional in all our workstations. Will still Developer 2000 1.0 run in this new platform? Which is the latest OS that is supported by Developer 2000 1.0 and/or Developer 2000 1.0 runtime?
ThanksThis is a question that I think you would be better asking in the Forms.
However, I will just make this point: what do you mean by "supported"? Forms 4.5 is not a supported version of the tool. You may still be able to find an old certification matrix kicking around on the web but Oracle probably won't show it on an official one any more.
Of the top of my head I don't see why moving from NT to Win2K should causes any major problems - they're basically the same o/s. However, given that Win2K has only a limited lifespan (remember M$ was going to pull the plug this December) why are you going through the grief of porting your apps to it now?
Cheers, APC -
Developing solutions for small and medium enterprises (FREE)?
I heard that Oracle Express DATABASE is free. Is it absolutely true?
Also I heard that if you use developer (forms, reports builder) and you leave the FMX / REP files in your customer it is also for free (no license cost).
How true is it?
Oh, the real question is...
what would you suggest?
Developing small solutions in web (with VISUAL STUDIO <dot net>) connecting with ORACLE EXPRESS?
or Still use developer 6.1 (remember for small and medium enterprises).
I suggest your comments.
graciasThat is only half true, and the part about Oracle Express only applies as long as the database remains less than 1 GB in size.
I have not heard any indication that Developer 6i/9i/10g content can be developed and used without a license. Oracle Applications Express (HTMLDB replacement) is a cool Free tool that interacts well with Oracle Express.

Developer key, Access key and OSS key
Hi Experts
When i am trying to create a z programs it is asking Access key.
Can anybody please tell what is Developer key, Access key and OSS key and difference among them.
Thanks in advance
SekarHi,
There is no need to pay for developer key or object access key. You can get them from service market place under Keys & Request tab and SSCR. You need to have a valid S-User with proper authorization to generate the keys. Below is the link for the same where select the Keys & Request and under that SSCR Keys. Then from there you can generate Developer and object access keys.

New development in Flash Captivate and Content Management
My compay currently uses Serena Collage for Content
Management along with Macromedia Studio MX 2004 for web site
development. We have an upcoming e-learning project that we are
considering developing in Captivate and Flash. We are mandated that
all development be Section 508 compliant and e-learning must be
SCORM compliant as well.
Can I continue to use Collage to manage content developed
from Captivate and Flash or will I have to use a different product?
According to documentation Captivate SCORM and 508 compliant and is
Flash 508 compliant is this correct?
Please advise.I am not familiar with Collage or its requirements, but Flash
MX 2004 is 508 compliant, I have had to make partial and full
compliant courses with it. That being said, it took us a decent
amount of time and effort.
