Developer 6.0 Installation

Running Win NT 4.0 + serv.pack 5, Oracleee
8.0.5.0.0 (with Installer 3.3.1.0.0C).
Tried to install Developer 6.0. - comes with installer 3.2.2.1.1. Decided to opt for later
Installer 3.3.1.0.0C. After a few minutes of installing process stops and installation screens is gone. Nothing installed.
I am installing from the CD that came with
"Oracle Developer Starter Kit " - Oracle Press.
I installed against personal Oracle 8 on Win 95 without any problems.
Any suggestions ?

Hi both,
You're possible victims of a Y2K bug in oracle installer <= 33110.
Possible solutions...
I....(In case of a clean machine) you can set the clock back to 1999
II...
The description below is applicable for dev6.0 + personal oracle 815 on W98.
Step 1 Install the new installer. It will go into a new oracle home that it will create. (give it a name EG: Home: Oradev, Directory C:\Orawin95. Reboot
Step 2 Start new istaller. Install Developer 2000, 6.0 to directory, C:\Orawin95
How ? Start new installer. You will see Button From. Browse to CDROM . Go to \installr\install\us\win95prd. Select this file. Open. Select all the items (Except old Oracle Installer). You might have to do this in 2 runs. First all the items above Oracle Installer, Second time, all the items below (So, install everything except the Oracle Installer old version ).
Step 3 At the end of the installation you have to reboot. The autoexec.bat file will be updated with the path to Orawin95.
In case of NT you've to choose the nt.prd file. Moreover Dev6 and Oracle 805 do have the same home.
Can't advice you any further...Network settings differ from computer to computer...

  • The version of iOS on does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK

Getting this error message as of this morning: The version of iOS on “iPad” does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK. I've downloaded the latest SDK and gone through the usual turn off and turn on again for iPad and computer, removed and reinstalled the iPad from Organizer and have no idea how to make apps build now. I was prompted to update the iphone too but there's no way I'm updating it if this issue can't be resolved.

Okay these are the steps I took to solve the problem - they may not be the right ones for you but they've solved the problem and saved time hunting for some other solution. Firstly I changed my MAC system to Lion with the £20 download, then I deleted the old Xcode and installed the new version that is app based and doesn't support Snow Leopard, then all was well. I can now update my xcode via the app which is quicker and more logical and can update my iPhone rather than chug along avoiding updates as I need to update my existing apps on the app store and upload a new one.

  • Developer Suit 10g Installation

I am trying to install Developer Suit 10g. My configuration is 1024 MB RAM, 80 GB HDD and AMD Athlon 3400+ processor. The OS is XP Home. Database 10g is already installed and running on the same machine.
In the very begining Universal Installer is giving me this error message, "Invalid staging area. There is no top level components for Windos NT, Windos 2000 available for installation in this staging area."
My question is can I install Developer on XP Home?

select deferent folder and defferent home for developer. by default installer select the home where you have install database. you should change it.

  • Oracle Developer 6.0 installation problem..

While in the process of installing Oracle Developer 6.0, using Oracle Installer 3.3.1.0c, the installer indicates that the intsallation can not go on since there are Oracle services running and that I have to stop all Oracle services or applications to proceed. The installer suggests that I use NT service manager to stop all Oracle services. That is exactly what I did and still the installer insists that there are still Orcale servcies related to "Required support files" running. What do you think the problem is? I have successfully installed Oracle 8, Enterprise Edition on this same machine on which I am trying to install Developer.

There are other services that may cause you trouble.
I have had to turn off SMTP and DHCP services in the past.

  • Developer 6.0 installation failure

    Hi,
I have Orace 8i 8.1.6 up and running on a NT machine and am trying to install Developer Forms 6.0 Server. I tried to install it on a separate directory C:\Oradev6, and still got messages saying that Forms cannot be installed in multiple location, it needs to be installed in \Ora8i directory. I have not installed forms before, so I am not sure where it sees a copy of the developer, that causes the message to show. I tried installing in Ora8i directory which is home for Oracle 8i server and tnen it tells me to install in another directory. Seems to be like a catch 22. Any suggestions on how to get past this problem ?

I agree with both Rajeev and Thuri. Both worked on my PC that is running on Windows 2000. I had to remove all previous installations of Oracle and Developer from my machine. After succesfull installation of Developer 6 and Oracle 8i (in that order), I copied the first block of codes in tnsnames.ora from the server side and copied it over to the tnsnames.ora in the client side. I did not have to start the database, and I did not have to start the listener in order to connect to the database from either side.

  • Developer Workplace u0096 installation errors (Configure CAF)

    Hi,
I am installing SAP NW 2004s Developer Workplace (SP09) in my laptop and the process always stops when we get to the "Configure CAF" step.
The only error I could find so far is in the sap management console, about JMX adapter, regarding ObjectNameCache.ReplaceEntries.
Did anyone have this issue during installation? Can you suggest any other validation that I should do?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello everyone,
I have good news... I finally find the solution to my problem!
The IBM JDK 1.4.2 for AIX was buggy and required us to patch it to the very latest version.
The version we previously had, was :
java full version "J2RE 1.4.2 IBM AIX 5L for PowerPC (64 bit JVM) build caix64142-20070317 (SR8)"
The version we are now running, is :
java full version "J2RE 1.4.2 IBM AIX 5L for PowerPC (64 bit JVM) build caix64142ifx-20070509 {SR8 SAP ifix: 119818}"
    Hope this will help you!

  • Developer 6.0 installation can't proceed due to phantom services?

I'm installing 6.0 Server on an NT server that is also running Oracle8 8.0.5 (NOT 8i). After going through the dependencies, it stops, saying that Net8 is being used and to stop all services and applications that use Net8. I have already stopped all the services starting with "Oracle" such as Start, TNSListener, and Service, and there are no applications running according to Task Manager. Is there any other service that must be stopped? I tried stopping just about everything to no avail.

When I try to proceed it says there is
nothing to install. I tried verifying/repairing
Disk Permissions with Disk Utility and nothiung
showed up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
I believe I have the answer -- at least it worked for me. With a huge assist from Apple Tech Support, I finally came up with with the following...
Go to Finder > Hard Drive > Library > Receipts. There you will find four files starting with iTunes. Remove all four to the Trash. Empty it. Restart your computer. And then the Install program on the virtual drive will work and you'll get iTunes 6.0.4.
    Hope that helps.

I am not quite sure what either of you are after, but if you hit the "Documentation" link on OTN you will find the documentation, such as the above list, for almost all of Oracle products. Most are available online in HTML format or PDF and some have a part number so that they can be ordered.
The 10g Developer Suite Documentation is here: http://otn.oracle.com/documentation/dev10g.html

  • Unable to open Database Home Page after installation

    Hello!
I have made my very first installation of Oracle 10g XE and I have immediately tried to open the Database Home Page, as suggested by the installer.
However, I have got a browser error and I noticed that no process was listening on port 8080.
No Oracle service was running, except OracleXETNSListener. Nonetheless I have started OracleServiceXE as well and it started without visible errors.
However, port 8080 is still not open.
I am really disappointed with my first experience with Oracle products. No errors whatsoever, but an inaccessible home page. In addition, I have noticed other questions about the same problem. No working answers for me. I feel quite frustrated.
Just FYI: I am running Windows XP SP3.
Is there any way to solve this issue at the end of the day?
Thank you and sorry if being offending. I think that a company like Oracle should not tolerate such an unfriendly product installation, especially if counting on winning new customers with its free XE database.
    Best wishes,
    Georgi
P.S. Yes, I have errors in C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\log files, but they are quite a lot and I can't realize what went wrong exactly. There are probably errors elsewhere as well, but they are not visible to the ordinary user/developer during the installation. Sad.

Sad.

  • OnCard installer

    Hi,
I am student from argentina, and for this year i've been asigned a java card project: developing an ONCARD installer. as part of a Javacard System.
The time for delivery finishes in July, so i think i have enough time. :) But i dont want to lose much time. The more i read, the more i want to know.
i think my tools will be a few system C - functions (fmemory management), GP API and Java card API. As far as i know GP API and JC API are implemented. One requirement, not implement offcard code. Just communicate with the card through APDUs. I am free to decide the security to be applied. Anyway i hope to have the requirements and the provided tools soon.
All is new for me so i think i'm a little bit confused. At this moment i am reading Global Platform Specification and i see there are agents and entities with diferent purposes. The questions raise when i think about the way to implement them, the way i can delegate...
Questions like...: Where does the installer fit in GlobalPlatform 221? I think that i can supose that the installer is the issuer security domain. How to implement a GPRegistry...
Next steps: reading the JCVM 221, developing some JC sample services.
Anyway, i dont want people to tell me how to do the work.If i have some concrete questions i'll ask for it. :)
just wondering if you think i must take a look at some biblio or something. any suggestion will be welcome. Chen's book is on my desk at this moment :)
If some of you have similir proyect we can keep in touch.
Sorry for my english, i know i have to improve it.
Best Regards and thx in advance.

hi, i've got to say i'm from chile, and also trying to develop some applications related to javacard and so on. And cause we talk the same lang: [hola yo tambien estoy aprendiendo javacard y si te interesa compartir experiencias conmigo dejo mi mail para que te contactes (jamiranda (arroba) gmail punto com), a ver si podemos ayudarnos mutuamente teniendo la ventaja del mismo idioma]
    greetings.

  • How to get started on JavaCard 3.0 development?

    Hi,
I wasn't able to attend JavaOne, but from what I understand, some lucky developers were able to write JavaCard 3.0 apps to compete in the contest that was held at JavaOne. So, how can I get started in JavaCard 3.0 app development? I can't find anywhere where I can download an SDK or buy compatible cards.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

  • I've developed a way to AUR search+install with pacman via proxy

at the moment it's not complete, and the database is up-to-date only as of Oct-16-2007;; but i believe it's in a stable position to be tested ..
i look forward to your feedback
so anyway .. i call it alaura, and it is a system developed in python to create a pacman database in order to allow
users to search as they normally would, and simply issue a command .. pacman -S pkg-in-aur and have that
pkg installed as they would any other pkg ...
    add
    [alaura]
    Server = http://arch.u54.eu/repo
    to your pacman.conf
the client side of the system is basically, download pkg from alaura repo, that pkg has an install script,
the install script removes the (alaura)proxy pkg and then uses yaourt(i hope to develop a simpler installer that does one job) to install the pkg from aur
. ad oh, the repo is generated using gradgrind's gen_repo script
    so far i've only indexed 100 pkgs :: `pacman -Sl alaura`
more details will be published soon, i have to go study now ...

no one seemed interested, so when i switched to using a laptop i didn't take the code with me, i have a slightly older version somewhere though,
i have exams this week but i will prolly squeeze a tester out, i still have my design of the system somewhere as well so it shouldn't be too difficult to pickup where i left off
    thanks for taking an interest.
