  • Unable to donwload Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 Patch 1 - getting a 404

    Hi,
I'm trying to download Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 Patch 1, but I'm getting a 404.
Here is the page I'm downloading from:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html
Here is the link to the zip file:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper-2.1.1.64.45-no-jre.zip
Could anyone point me to a working link?

I have just been to the site and downloaded the software. This is is always available and certainly not been down for 40 days, we track the daily downloads. You maybe restricted by a firewall setting on your side which does not permit you to download the software. There are occasions when there are issues, but generally if you try again in an hour they're resolved. We will not put the software on a rapid share site and for anyone else to do so would be violating licensing restrictions and is as such not legal.

    Hi,
Can you run SQL Developer like this:
    sqldeveloper -J-Dide.extension.log.to.console=true
and see if you get any additional output on the console?
There is a bug in the base IDE platform that can lead to this message when you have a broken extension in ide/extensions or sqldeveloper/extensions. The extra logging provided by the above switch should turn on diagnostics that will help identify which extension is causing the problem.
FWIW, the base IDE problem has been fixed already, and the fix should be consumed by a future release of SQL Developer. The fix ensures that a single broken extension will not take down the whole product.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Developer 6i upgrade patch 19 JRE doubt

As part of the Developer 6i patch 19 You have to follow the Doc 290807.1 to upgrade Sun JRE
I was reading the following section
Step 2. Rename the JRE Plug-in and Place it on Webserver
Rename the downloaded JRE Native plug-in file from jre-6_uX-windows-i586-p.exe to j2se160X.exe
(Where X = the version number. (For single digit version numbers, please prefix the version number with a zero). Using jre-6u7 as an example X would be 07, so the file would be renamed j2se16007.exe).
Step 2.1.1. Place the JRE 6 Plug-in on the Web Application Tier
Move the j2se160X.exe file to the web application tier and place it in $[COMMON_TOP]/util/jinitiator.
    I have a few doubts.....
My webserver is a linux server .....The file I downloaded is a windows file .....Is the step okay ...am I missing something ?

    Hi,
My webserver is a linux server .....The file I downloaded is a windows file .....Is the step okay ...am I missing something ?You are not missing anything as this file will be downloaded by the client machines which is running on Windows OK and will be installed there.

    Fixed the download link

    Sue,
I get the following error when unzipping the archive:
    Extracting oracle.javacore.jar
bad CRC bb93c0d4 (should be 1f5b6bb6)
Warning: the size of the extracted file (7484702) does not match the uncompressed size (7484661) recorded in the zip file
It's the Windows version including the JRE.
Although probably my download went wrong I'd suggest to double check the ZIP-file on your server.

  • Upgrade base installation of Oracle Developer 6i to patch 18

    Hi all,
I was wondering what are the steps needed to get a base install of Oracle Developer 6i Reports to patch 18. What I mean by that is, or are all the previous patches included in this patch, or do I need to do a step by step patch update to the base install to get it to patch 18. Could someone please help me regarding this. Your help is most appreciated.
    Cheers
    Rodney

so, canot use dev 6i?I'm afraid you can't. Not certified doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but if you have problems, you're on your own...
Of course you have two solutions : use 10g DB, or upgrade your forms to 10g. What's the problem for the latter ?

  • SQL Developer 1.1 Patch 3 still does not work on 64-bit Windows

There has been a long-standing problem with SQL Developer 1.1 not working on 64-bit versions of Windows. When sqldeveloper.exe is executed, a very unhelpful error dialog stating "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000018). Click on OK to terminate the application" is displayed.
While there is a workaround that involves running the sqldeveloper.bat file in the \sqldeveloper\bin subdirectory, it is a bit inconvenient and requires the user to discover this workaround. Furthermore, SQL Developer 1.0 did not have this problem, so it is a bit puzzling as to why the problem was introduced with SQL Developer 1.1 and why it is still not fixed with the latest patch.

I can confirm that we have a fix for this problem. I'm not sure when this fix will be available in SQL Developer.
The bug was introduced in 1.1 due to optimizations in the way that the native Windows launcher works to better support products like SQL Developer.

  • SAP Developer Workplace SP19 patching - runs 4 ever

    Hi folks,
I have been busy patching a SAP Developer workplace 2004 SP16 ( using MaxDB ) towards SP19 but I am facing some possible issues ...
The SAPINST always runs till step 10 "J2EE Engine Server Core" and that's it ... the status says "processing" and nothing happens anymore ...
The log files in the 'ADA' directory don't get changed anymore as of the timestamp it starts with that step ...
There are no errors or warnings being mentionned ...
How long is this supposed to be running ?  I left it already run one day and night ( I think - I logged off from the SAPINST after 6 hours running in the day ) ...
I have a fairly normal average desktop pc  ...
Is there any way I can find out whether somethin is actually happening ?

the question doesn't really belongs to JDI area

    please help me

so, canot use dev 6i?I'm afraid you can't. Not certified doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but if you have problems, you're on your own...
Of course you have two solutions : use 10g DB, or upgrade your forms to 10g. What's the problem for the latter ?
