Developer 6 on Win 2000

Does anybody know a walk around to install Developer 6 on Win 2000? The installer always quits (without error messages) after it copies a few files.

I was able to install developer on Windows 2000 without any problem. The only error was it said I will not be able to web enable my forms as the opearting system is not a NT technology.

  • Installing Oracle9i  Developer in win 2000 profes..win system file  error

    Hello all,
I am trying to install oracle9i developer. I am getting error "90201iDS_win32.exe is not a valid win32 application". Oracle installation guide mension to run wsf.exe file.. Could you please tell me the procedure. I could not find the wsf.exe file......Please help me..My hair is getting dry...
    Thanks

    Hi,
the 90201iDS_win32.exe file is a self extractor file. It will unzip alone and create 2 folders disk1 and disk2 that are the installation disks.
But, if this file make an error, maybe you have to delete it and start again the batch file (file10).
The .brk files are not zipped. It's only file divion. The batch file concatenate the 9 .brk file to obtain the .exe file wchich is devided on 9 files.
One question, do you have enough disk space? and which file system areyou using (NTFS ou FAT32)?
I hope that can help you.
    Hedi.

  • Get Windows Folder Paths on Win 2000

I downloaded the windows_folder_path.vi from NI site, where I can see that "This VI is supported on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista."
If I use it in an executable that searches for Application Data folder, it works under XP, but it doesn't under a fresh Win 2000 SP4 installation.
    A pop-up with the message:
    Entry poin Not found
The procedure entry point SaferGetPolicyInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll
    is shown.
When I press the OK button, another popup
    LabVIEW: Resource not found.
An error occurred loading VI 'windows_folder_path.vi'.
LabVIEW load error code 3: Could not load front panel.
I'm confused because here (MSDN, Microsoft Developer Network) I can see that  the SaferGetPolicyInformationfunction requires WinXP or Vista
Isn't this vi expected working properly under Win 2000?
In the next days I'll do the same test on a Vista machine, and I hope....
How can I get the Application Data path on WinXP, 2000 and Vista? With different languages OS this folder has a different name (Application Data, Dati Applicazioni, ...) so I can't build the path by myself.
I don't know if this helps, but I'm developing with LabVIEW 8.2.1and WinXP Pro

  • Oracle 9.2.0.3 or 9.2.0.4 on Win 2000

In the OTN downloads page, I see that I can download the database for version 9.2.0.1 (Standard Edition), for Win 2000.
I have been informed that the Developer Suite for 9i, with the 9.2.0.6.0 patch, is certified to run with database 9.2.0.3 or 9.2.0.4.
My question: Is database 9.2.0.3 (or 9.2.0.4) also available as an OTN download? If so, how can I access it?
Alternately: Does anyone have reliable information as to whether Developer Suite 9i (with patch 9.2.0.6.0) can also run against database 9.2.0.1? (All on Win 2000).
I am stressing the patch 9.2.0.6.0 issue, as I am told that prior to this patch, there were problems with setting up the Repository (needed for working with Designer).
Thanks in advance for any information on this.
    Eliram Braudo

Nope. There is no Database 9.2.0.3 for Win 32-bit (cd-pack/full release).
There is Database 9.2.0.1 (full release) and Patch Sets that brings it up to 9.2.0.3 (or .4 or .2). Patch Sets are, as I know, only available from Metalink with a valid support contract.
Note that AS and DS are 9.*0*.2. (confusing, yeah!)
Here on OTN we can find:
    Oracle9i Designer Release 9.0.2.6.0 - a full, patch release for Oracle9i Designer
(You must install this over your Oracle9i DS installation)
Note the difference - patchset is for Designer/Repository 9i as part of DS, not the whole DS product stack (latest patchset for Forms & Reports is 9.0.2.3 I think). Patching Oracle (except for DB) is messy as always I guess ;)
I would guess that Oracle Support recommends to have DS patchset 9.0.2.2 installed also...
And cert info includes a requirement for at least 9.2.0.3 (DB) so I guess you have smoe patching to look forward to ;-D

  • SQLSERVER7 connection problem on WIN 2000

    Hello-
Any help at all on this problem would be greatly appreciated. I'm running MSSqlServer 7.0 Desktop Version (with service pack 3) on Win 2000 and I get the follwing error when trying to connect to the db:
[DataDirect][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket. Connection refused: connect
The DataDirect driver is loading fine. My code is fine (in fact DataDirect has their own code I can use to test their driver and I get this same exception).
Any ideas? Is there a JDBC issue with the desktop version of SqlServer7 or is this a Win 2000 issue?
    Thanks ahead of time!
    John

SQL Server can be configured to use named pipes, TCP/IP and a number of other protocols. Probably your server does not enable TCP/IP (all type 4 JDBC drivers for SQL Server use TCP/IP, I know this since I'm developing one -- jTDS, http://jtds.sourceforge.net).
You can configure SQL Server to use TCP/IP using the SQL Server Network Utility. It's quite intuitive, you'll see.
And, by the way, you can give jTDS a try. :o)

  • Can't run projector on Win 2000

    Hi,
Does anyone know why I get a message about my projector not
    being a valid
Win32 application when I try to run in Windows 2000? I'm
    using Director MX
    2004.
I think I heard about some fix, but can't remember it.
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi.
Strange. The fact that you can't run as an Windows service tells me something may be
wrong with your os. Is it possible to try a different windows machine? This is not a
known issue - noone else is reporting this.

  • Forms 6i webforms under Win 2000

I was trying to use Forms 6i under win 2000 and I get a message on the install indicating webforms only runs on NT. I understand the problem, but how long will it be before you have a version for win 2000?
Or is their additional docs that would help with this install?
    Thanks
    Mark

    Frank:
On the install I have a box come up that says
"You have selected Developer 2000 Webforms which is installble only on Windows NT 4.0 only. Press OK to continue to install other modules or press cancel to terminate".
Other modules install. Just the webforms does not.
This was our first install on Win 2000. We had planned 2000 as the operating system for 9iAS also. Are we better off just going back to NT 4.0 for now? Is 9iAS win 2000 ready?
    Thanks

  • D2k compatibility with Microsoft Win 2000

    Hi,
D2k works well with windows 95 and 98.Is there some compatibility problem of Developer 2000 with higher versions of windows ie WIN 2000 Terminal Server. Also another problem which i am currently facing is that while running the forms/reports runtime engine, there is lots of resource consumption ie memory. This is happening in a multiuser enviroment. Is it because i am not using a server version of Developer 2000.
    Thanks

  • 9i installation problem on a Win 2000 P4 PC

    Hi,
Although I am new to Oracle, with the help of documentation I successfully managed to install it on a Window 2000 PC without any major problems except for the one described below.
    The problem is this:
When the PC was part of a campus domain (e.g., claflin.edu) I got "end-of-file on communication channel" and "internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist" errors repeatedly many times during installation but I didn't get any when the PC was taken off the network and added to a workgroup.
Is there something I need to do to make it work on a network? Has anyone seen this same behavior on Win 2000 or is it something unique in my case?
By the way, I am also running the personal web server (PWS) in the same PC.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kuha M.

    Hi Eric,
Ther should not be any problem in stalling NWDS SP9. Your case the problem may be
    1)Insufficient Disk Space
    2)Outdated vesrion of JDK
    3) you might not have been downloded full fledged NWDS SP9 installer.
4)May be while installing NWDS it is not able to locate JDK in Directory.
if you check all these, i hope it will work!!!.

  • Related to creating pdf file through form6i in Win 2000

I have created a form which will generate pdf file by calling a report. I am able to generate pdf files in platforms like Win 2000,Win NT,Win 98. But expect in Win 2000, I am able to read the pdf file in acrobat.
The error displayed while opening pdf in acrobat is: There was a error processing this page,There was a problem to read this page (122).
Form6i and Reports6i is installed in Win 2000 and acrobat reader version is 5.0
    Please answer my question immediately

Sorry Im totally new to acrobat so this may seem like a daft question> I have scanned a document through a document feed scanner into a pdf format but some of the pages are orientated the wrong way within the pdf, is there a way to change the direction of pages and then save the whole pdf again so that everything is the right way round. I know that you can change the orintation while reading the pdf but as this is being put into web ct for students I would prefer for them not to have to do this.

  • Ipod nano possible with win 2000???

my wife just got an ipod nano \(3rr gen) for her bday, and we have a computer with win 2000. now the only itunes we can find for win 2000 is ver. 7.3. when i downloaded this it tells me that i need ver. 7.4 or better. anyone got any info or tips for me... PLEASE

NO. That is NOT what the website says. When you go to the 732 for Windows 2000 d/l page, it clearly states you can use Win2k. The website says "iTunes is the best way to enjoy your digital music and video with your PC, iPod and Apple TV. iTunes 7.3.2 for Windows 2000 is designed to work with Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or later. To use iTunes with Windows XP or Windows Vista, visit http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ to download the latest version. Use iTunes to import CDs or download songs and videos from the iTunes Store. Make playlists perfect for any occasion. Burn playlists to CDs and play them on your home stereo. Sync your media with iPod to enjoy it on the go, or play your collection on your TV with Apple TV."
Why have so many missed this??? Apple is clearly stating they support Win2k - including sync to ipod. I so got one. I d/l the iTunes 732 for Win2k and it works fine - to play music (using it right now). But once I connect my new nano, I get the error message "The iPod 'IPOD' cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 7.4 or later. Go to www.blah blah to d/l v7.4..." So.... what now??? I'm stumped. And never-mind the "win2k is old and nobody supports it..." stuff... Microsoft still offers SP4 for d/l.
Why would Apple put a utility in a backward compat. program that is not backward compatible?????
In addition (and this may be over my head), but why does the website show the file @ 47.7MB, put once on my hd it shows 37.9MB?? I've d/l the file twice to be sure but have the same result.
Please forgive me - I am not shooting the messenger, I'm terribly confused. I am clearly missing something. Would someone PLEASE set me straight??? I'm a big boy - I can take it.

  • Enterprise Manager Console does not start on Win 2000 Pro

I have installed Oracle 9i Release 2 Enterprise Manager on Win 2000 Professional. But the Enterprise Manager console does not start. Also the EM Configuration Assistant does not start.
I have installed many times, but it is never successfull.
I was installing Enterprise Edition -> General Purpose database.
Tried the following from command prompt:
    oemapp.bat I get this message : "Usage: oemapp <application_name>"
oemapp consoleI get : "bad command or file name"
oemapp console oem.loginmode=standaloneI get : "bad command or file name"
Is there any post installation configurations that need to be done?
When I read thru the oemapp.bat, "Usage: oemapp <application_name>" was under the jreSetup module.
    Under C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre I have the folders with following Names(versions) 1.1.8 and 1.3.1.
    In the environment variable also I have C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.8\bin and C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.3.1\bin
Could some one help me with this.
    Thanks,
    Aruna

    Marcus,
Is your machine connected to a Novell network? If so, edit the oemapp.bat file and change every reference of Windows_NT to WINNT. The issue is Novell does not set the Windows_NT variable, and uses the WINNT variable instead.

  • IWS Install Failed on Win 2000

Hello - we are still trying to recover our install of iWS on Win 2000. The

We are installing from the Forte for Java partnership CD. This is iWS 6.0

    Hi,
Please ensure the following before you install.
    - Have a fully qualified domainname which is mandatory. But for testing
purpose you can have DHCP running usually not recomended for production
    environment.
    - Installation platform for iWS 6.0 is Windows 2000 Server or Advanced
    server recomended.
    - If uninstallation hangs remove the entries from the services and remove
the associated folders and then go for reninstalling iWS 6.0
    - If the problem still persists, the only way to get rid is to clean the
registry of Windows and make a reinstallation.

how come you have the cds and no access to sapnet? strange....
    basically these are the steps:
    -> install win 2k server
-> check for all hardware and software requirements (needed for sap installation)
-> install oracle server 9.2 and the appropriate patchset (being 9.2.0.8 at the time) and the interim patches (opatch)
-> install sap central instance using sapinst (you will be asked for the different cds such as java, kernel etc.)
-> install sap database instnace using sapinst (you will be asked for the different cds such as java, kernel etc.)
    -> apply post-installation steps
but: without the installation guide and the relevant sapnotes it will be difficult to succeed....get access to sapnet asap!
