Developer 6i / Developer 2000 ?

I have a project with Oracle 8i with Developer 6i. I am not sure
if Developer 6i is same as Developer 2000. Any pointers will be
helpful.

Developer 6i is the release after Developer 6 which came after
Developer/2000 release 2.1
Developer 6i is Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports and Oracle Graphics.
These are distinct from the Designer product which allows you to
model an application and generate Oracle Forms and Reports.

  • Is Developer 6 or 2000 available on Linux?

    Hi There,
    I already installed Oracle 8 in my RedHat Linux and Developer 6
    in my NT BOX. The Developer 6 is very good, but too slow on NT. I
    am wandering if any version of Developer 6 or Developer 2000 is
    available on Linux, or not. If yes, where or when I can find it?
    Any information will be appreciated.

  • Installing Oracle9i  Developer in win 2000 profes..win system file  error

    Hello all,
    I am trying to install oracle9i developer. I am getting error "90201iDS_win32.exe is not a valid win32 application". Oracle installation guide mension to run wsf.exe file.. Could you please tell me the procedure. I could not find the wsf.exe file......Please help me..My hair is getting dry...
    Thanks

    Hi,
    the 90201iDS_win32.exe file is a self extractor file. It will unzip alone and create 2 folders disk1 and disk2 that are the installation disks.
    But, if this file make an error, maybe you have to delete it and start again the batch file (file10).
    The .brk files are not zipped. It's only file divion. The batch file concatenate the 9 .brk file to obtain the .exe file wchich is devided on 9 files.
    One question, do you have enough disk space? and which file system areyou using (NTFS ou FAT32)?
    I hope that can help you.

  • Help required in developing SQL developer extension

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to develop an extension for Sql Developer. The requirement matches the Reports framework in Sql Developer.
    We need to have a separate dock as in reports where we can navigate through the tree and execute some predefined queries.
    I implemented this using the Docking Sample of Sql Developer extensions. I am able to show a separate dock with the tree hieararchy of the nodes and adding context menus to the nodes.
    But , the problem is how do we integrate this UI with the queries and how do we prompt the user to select the connections and other bind variables.
    We can do this by using an XML file and importing it in the reports. But, we need a separate dock for our functionality.
    I tried modifying the reports API by obtaining the code from the oracle.sqldeveloper.report.jar . But , facing problems while compiling the modified code to a jar.
    Any help in this regard is appreciated.

    Restrict 2nd sel from Variable – Dec

  • Access applications developed in Developer suite 10g by Internet.

    I have a small intranet setup where we have developed applications using Oracle 10g, Developer suite10g
    using windows server OS 2003 and for application server in windows xp.
    This works fine locally.
    Now the client wants to access this application from another location through internet.
    They do not have any domain name registered or website .
    Please tell me how to go about this and access the application from another location through
    internet just by giving the URL.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. You need to install Oracle Appln server forms and reports services.
    2 To enable this for web/internet ask the network administrator to open this for internet.
    3 If security is an issue over internet use SSL.
    4 Do not expose to internet and use tools such as remotelogin/virtual desktop and acess the appln server from internet

    In you post on the other forum include your 4 digit Oracle version and the version of SQL Developer that you are using.
    Also provide the step by step details of how you are trying to create the new connection.
    The error message is telling you that you are using a server or host name that does not exist.

  • Word document, developer and developer server

    I must develop a form that can handle word document, it must read/write/update a DOCUMENT that must be stored in database for example in a BLOB field.
    Can someone tell me how i can do it?
    Thanks

    You can define MS Word as your system_editor for the form. For details refer to 'Editor Property' topic in the Oracle Dev. Help.

  • White balance selections, Quick Develop and Develop...let's talk

    One thing that isn't well-known is that the adjustments in Quick Develop and the adjustments in Develop are *fundamentally different* from each other.
    Develop is basically designed to provide *absolute* adjustments to RAW images. It can be used for JPEGs too, but in that case, the white balance setting is not absolute as it's already been corrected in-camera. So the WB settings are meaningless since you don't know where to begin and the temperatures are removed for the same reason. You just start where you are and get warmer or cooler.
    Quick Develop is designed to provide *relative* adjustments to all images. What this means is, if you have many images selected and hit the right exposure arrow ">" you'll increase the effective exposure of all of those images from wherever they are now to that plus 1/3 stop. If you hit the ">>" you'll get 1 stop increments.
    Since QD is always making *relative* adjustments, it may be reasonable to assume that you have a known, corrected starting point from which to make relative adjustments. That may be why the daylight and other options are available in QD. I personally think this is a bad assumption as you don't know what corrections have been applied in-camera. Thus, I think those options shouldn't appear in QD just like they don't in Develop.
    Comments?

    The relative vs. absolute of the QD vs. Dev modules is something I'm not familiar with LR enough to dispute. However isn't the point of LR's non-destructive nature, that all actions on an image are relative to the initial baseline, whether it is a RAW or JPG (or Other).
    Granted applying a preset WB set of values against a JPG does not make a lot of sense in the development of a repeatable workflow, but if a set of WB values improves a JPG image, who cares. Its all non-destructive and I can reset at any time.
    I tend to not like operating in applications that are too stringent in keeping me walled into the "right" way of doing things. Particularly based on the super intelligent decision of the software developer because they know how it is supposed to work. (I have license to berate this group because it is my vocation) Changing the user interface from one module to another (if they both do the same thing) or from one file type to another is not a good thing. Consistency is paramount to user freindliness. If indeed the QD and the Dev modules work differently then it is expected that the controls be labeled differently to express this difference. If a selection is detrimental to the image or will cause application issues it is better to leave the selection visible (for consistency) and disable it (gray out) to keep it from being selected.
    The abreviation of White Balance: to WB: in the application is also bad form. It is jargony and does not assist new users to understanding. Screen real estate is scarce and I understand the inclination to do this, but there is a cost.

  • Reg: Mobile Development Workstation - Developer/license Keys

    Hi,
    I have installed Mobile Development Workstation for CRM release 5.0 on my machine.
    Now do I require any Developer license/keys for using this application,as we do for Developer/object keys?
    If yes,how to get it from OSS?
    I am confused,please help.
    Rgs
    Ipsita.

    So in case of using ADF, we should license Jdeveloper for each developer that uses it ?
    Let's say we have 2 projects at different clients both being developed with ADF and 4 developers working for them in a central location, all of them developing the application with the Jdeveloper embedded OC4J.
    Then for production we would have $5k per processor for each client + maintenance fees.
    And for development the minimum is to pay $1000 in this case ?
    So far I understood that while in development (and evaluation) we were able to use Jdeveloper and ADF for free, and when going into production then was where we need to pay the license.
    Indeed in http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/jdevpricefaq.html#14 it says: "Developers will continue to be able to run Oracle ADF applications on the OC4J instance included with JDeveloper for testing and debugging."
    Anyone at Oracle that can clarify on this ?
    Thanks again,
    Claudio.

  • Error in jsp prg developed in Developer Studio

    Hi,
    I developed a JSP program with MS ACCESS as back end using SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio. It was successfully deployed to SAP J2EE Engine. But while executing the program, I m getting the following error:
    "reference to Statement is ambiguous, both class java.sql.Statement in java.sql and class java.beans.Statement in java.beans match
         Statement stat = conn.createStatement();
            ^
    1 error "
    Here is my JSP code:
    <%@ page language="java" import = "java.sql.*" %>
    <html>
         <head>
              <title>
                   Title
              </title>
         </head>
         <body>
              <h1>
                   Sample JDBC Programm
              </h1>
    <table border=1>
    <tr>
         <td>Name of the Student</td><td>Course</td>
    </tr>
    <%
        Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
         Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:data");
         Statement stat = conn.createStatement();
         ResultSet rs = stat.executeQuery("select * from stu");
         if (rs != null)
                   while (rs.next())
                             String na = rs.getString("name");
                             String cna=rs.getString("cname");
    %>
    <tr>
         <td> <%= na%> </td>
         <td> <%= cna%></td>
    </tr>
    <%
    rs.close();
    stat.close();
    conn.close();
    %>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>

    Hi Ravindra,
    by default when a JSP is converted into a Servlet it imports the java.beans.* package.
    All you need to do is in your linke of code:
    Statement stat = conn.createStatement();
    Change it to:
    java.sql.Statement stat = conn.createStatement();
    I think this will fix your problem.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

  • I wanna know  how the support issues come to a development/support develope

    Hi Guys,
    I want to know that how the support issues comes to development system from client? what is the flow of opening a ticket in the system which is sent by client ?
    Its very urgent, please reply for this post.

    Hi,
    That will be taken care by your Project Manager or Team Leader.  Your Project Manager will receive the issue, discuss with functional consultants and will come to you with the functional spec if it is a straight development.  Otherwise, if the issue is a functional issue and a work around to be developed through ABAP they will come to you asking the fesibility or suggestion how it can be solved.

    Dear Friend

    Dear Frank
    How can I handle that in the registry editor , because after I install Developer 2000 in C:\ORAWIN95
    So then I want to install form and reports 60 into D:\ORAWIN95 ,but during the installation of 6I the location takes C:\ORAWIN95 as the default , so what is the necessary change that I have to do , in Registry Editor , so that I can use both the version for developing and running the programs .

  • Implementation of multiple versions of Developer/2000

    I have not been able to locate any information that discusses
    the supported manner that multiple applications are implemented
    when multiple applications are using various versions of Oracle
    Developer. The only bulletin discusses implementing a single
    version from a network drive.
    Our 32-bit Enterprise or corporate environment consists of many
    client/server applications most of which only make use of the
    SQLNET to attach to Oracle ver 7 & 8 databases.
    Currently there is only one application (DMIS) that is running
    Forms 4.5.7.15.3 and Reports 2.5.5.19.0 from Developer 2000 v
    1.3.2 in the enterprise but other Oracle Developer appls are
    positioning themselves for rollout.
    The current operating environment looks like this:
    Application Server - contains the application's runtimes on a
    network drive (L:)
    L:\DMIS\RUNTIMES (.fmx, .rdf, .mmx, .pll...)
    Middleware Server - contains the current Oracle home dir
    V:\APPS\ORANT (v1.3.2) that this application uses
    NT 4.0 client -
    > The Icon properties are:
    >
    > Path: V:\APPS\ORANT\BIN\F45RUN32.EXE
    > MODULE=L:\DMIS\RUNTIMES\DMISMAIN
    > Working dir: L:\DMIS\RUNTIMES
    >
    > Oracle Registry: Points to Oracle runtimes on V:
    Now there are two other applications that are scheduled to
    rollout into production from two different organizations. One is
    developed using Developer 5.x and the other Developer 6.x Forms
    and Reports.
    >
    My main question revolves around how do I approach this:
    1) Do I create 2 other directories on the Middleware Server
    /orant5x and /orant6x and perform the Oracle Developer 5.x
    and 6.x installs from the same NT workstation?
    2) If so, will there be key conflicts created as a result of
    having 3 separate Oracle Home references? What would my Oracle
    registry look like?
    3) What about the System Environment Path for ORANTxx\BIN?
    4) What about the System Support Files that are copied into
    C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32?
    Will there be any conflicts on the NT client with the different
    .DLLs that need to be installed in \WINNT|SYSTEM32?
    Also:
    5) What about Forms and Reports backward compatibility between
    these versions?
    Would I be able to run a 4.5 Form and 2.5 Report with 5.x or 6.x
    Form and Report runtimes?
    Please help!!!

    Aren't you supposed to study for your stats testtonight? Hm? ;-)
    No, mom, I've been studying all week and have
    prepared to the level I feel is necessary to perform
    satisfactorily on the test (despite the ill-wishes of
    certain unnamed troll-kin lurking about in the
    shadows). I have budgeted an appropriate amount of
    time to participate in the flinging of silly
    particles (an activity in which you seem particularly
    engaged in today, I might add). ;o)How many times have I told you: never mind that troll-kin, it's not even properly
    potty trained; no go clean up your room; chop-chop on the double and don't
    you dare criticising your old Mom like that. I'm telling your Father about you
    when he comes home from the pub tonight.
    Now, what was I fixin' again? Ah, yes, rats au bain marie.
    kind regards,
    Jos (with a high squeaky voice ;-)
