Developer 6i Patch 17; WHEN???

This patch has been promised for several months and- as terminal patch for this version, it is vital to know when it will be available. Got a dozen or so site installs coming up and want to know if it will be ready in time.
Also, will the Red Hat 3.0 'Patch for the Patch' (re: Patch 3851446 for Dev6i Patch 16) be ready for 17 at the same time?

Patch Set 17 on Solaris is already out since Feb.14 - I believe. It's on our internal release system. Maybe there's a small delay to when you can see it externally.
On Linux and HP - sometime this week. AIX and Tru64 will be two weeks later.
Windows is having some problem but I know it is being worked on as a top priority. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

It looks like that fix will be in patch, yes. Bug 3827988 is the tracking bug, in case you're interested. (But most of the text is hidden so you won't be able to see much if you look at it externally.)

Not Able To Open Forms Session After Developer 6i patch

Our enviroment is
Db version --> 9.2.0.6
EBS version --> 11.5.10.2
We are upgrading our db to 10gr2.As a prerequisite developer 6i patch (patch 19) has been applied.
After this patch, some forms could not be opened .No error or anything observed in logs.
After some investigation, when the responsibility key updated into new value the forms have been opened succesfully.
Update -->
update fnd_responsibility set responsibility_key='SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR_N'
where responsibility_key='SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR';
But this update caused concurrent managers not open.Because of this error -->
Routine AFPCSQ cannot set profile option value for USER_ID. ORACLE
error 1403 in get_responsibility_data
Cause: get_responsibility_data
failed due to ORA-01403: no data found.
error.
select application_id,responsibility_id,responsibility_key, end_date
from fnd_responsibility
where responsibility_key like 'SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR'
returned no data.
SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR responsibility may be special case.By applying this update
to other responsibility solves the problem.But this behaviour is true or not ?
We couldn't find any solution.

Hi,
I believe this approach is not correct since you should not update this table manually. For the CM error, it is expected to get this error as the select statement no longer returns "SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR" after the update.
I suggest you obtain the FRD log file and see if errors are logged there when trying to reproduce the issue.

I would also suggest you enable debug on Jinitiator and see if it generates any errors.

Developer 6i Patch 5a for OA 11.5.3 -- unable to login

Has anybody successfully applied the Developer6i Patch 5a? I went through the document that details the steps and verified all. Applied the Developer 6i Patch 5a, applied the 3 required Apps patches and the IOP. I am able to get the login screen with Jinit 1.1.8.7. When I try to login, the for does not echo what is typed in until the second character is typed in and is very slow (2+seconds) between keystrokes and echo. Also the Java console shows:

You can believe what you like, but it won't change the truth.
CS6 is a Cocoa application, and Retina support requires Carbon (or the other way around, I'm a Windows user). It's not a matter of adding a few lines of code to make the change, it required rewriting the entire program from the ground up.

One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).

Relatively simple package to get OLE-DB connection to MS FoxPro 9.0 DB
The failure in the job log states that the path is invalid its a network path (\\192.168.1.xxx\foldername) this has been run several ways with the remote computer being mapped as a network drive and through the \\ notation described above.
Thinking it was a security issue between the SQL agent account and my account I tested by subsitution myself as a proxy account for the agent when running this job, again same result failed on network path.
One issue I see is that the remote computer is running Server 2000 (legacy software incompatable with newer versions)
Is it possible that this is a security issue, since if i understand correctly the current MS domain security model didn't exist until Server 2003.

Have you got the issue resolved? Based on your description, please make sure the target folder is shared properly. If the computer on which the SQL Server Agent job runs doesn’t join the domain as the server that hosts the shared folder, you have to share
the folder with everyone by adding “Everyone” to the people list on the File Sharing page of the folder and assign "Read/Write" permission to it.

You are probably looking in the wrong place - all photos in Photo view and in event too unless you have a corrupted library
most common cause of your not finding them is bad sort - view menu ==> sort events
Nest most common cause is a bad data/time on the camera - this can be corrected using a smart album to find the photos from that camera and then using using the adjust time/date command to fix the bad ones
YOu can alwasy find the event a Photo is in by selecting it and selecting show event

When will this Patch be released? We are at a critical stage of development and all our other environments (HP-UX, Linux) can be patched to 17 (which is the terminal patch). We need to know ASAP what the timeframe is for this

10.1.2.3 Developer Suite patch problem

I've successfully updated our server with patch 10.1.2.3. I'm now trying to update my windows xp workstation that has Developer Suite Version 10.1.2.0.2. Every time I try to install the patch an error displays telling me the following: "The following running services need to be shut down before continuing". The thing is it is listing about 40 items and some of them don't make sense. The following is just a few from the list:
COM+ Event System
Remote Registry
PmI Driver HPZ12
Themes
Windows Audio
Windows Time
These are just a few of about 40. Any suggestions?

I've come across this problem a number of times when using Oracle's universal installer on a machine that already had an old Oracle install. I always got around it by finding the file oci.dll in the old Oracle install and renaming it to e.g. oci.dll_old, and restarting the PC. The new install would then work fine, without any complaint about services.
I'm not sure if this is appropriate in this case, though, as you're patching rather than replacing an existing install.

SQL Developer on Linux hangs when disconnecting after VPN reconnect

Hello,
I have a problem with using connections after general link failure (Cisco VPN disconnect in my case, lost of route to Oracle DB).
When I reconnect to a VPN and I'll try to disconnect from a previously opened (before general link failure) connection, I need
to wait more than 10 minutes to complete this process. SQL Developer is completely unusable during this time.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Connect to VPN
2. Open connection in SQL Developer to host accessible only by this VPN
3. Restart VPN
4. Try to do anything with this connection (disconnect, execute sql in opened SQL Worksheet, view tables, etc.)
This bug is not new in recent versions, I'm using SQL Developer from over 2 years and this bug was always with me. But if I remember correctly in earlier versions (<3.0) I couldn't reuse the connection to execute sql (hanging SQL Developer for more than 10 minutes) but disconnecting would succeed without a problem.
Maybe SQL Developer should move connection management to separate thread to resolve this issue... or is there another solution?

For VPN connectivity I use vpnc
When I restart VPN connection I'm loosing TUN interface and all routes.
I have tested this issue on a few versions of SQL Developer on Windows XP, including 3.1.07. There is no problem with disconnecting after vpn failure on Windows.
Maybe I should fill some bug report? When I can do such thing? Metalink?

Possibly you can resolve this issue by altering the type of the connection that becomes non-responsive upon a VPN reconnect. What type are you currently using: Basic, TNS, etc?
In this forum thread (for Windows, unfortunately, not Linux), although different from your case, the solution used Thick/OCI driver, not Thin/Basic:
Windows 7 VPN
I have no VPN client on Linux (much less vpnc), only Cisco AnyConnect on Win XP, so I cannot test your scenario.
