Developer Day Hands-on Lab VM and Warehouse Builder 11.2

Hi,
I was going to try to use Warehouse Builder in the Developer Days VM environment, but I see that the directories for it are missing in the Oracle database 11.2 home. Were they removed? (know of any reason I can't just install an OWB standalone in the environment alongside the DB?)
thanks

  • Still can't download Developer Day Hands-On Lab Manual Database Development

I am trying to download the hands-on lab manual for Database Development and XML. I have tried right-click save and receive an error stating the file(s) cannot be read. Where can I retrieve these files?

    Hey Rahul,
The iTunes app is asking / telling something before the download hangs?
What you can do to check if it's a server, ISP or iTunes problem, is to make a direct download from Redmond Pie or OSXDaily just iOS not the firmware (unless you don't want to go back to a previous iOS version). Then do a manual update through iTunes, option + click Restore, choose the IPSW file and done.
    Hope this helps.

  • Instant Client 10.2.0.4 and Warehouse Builder 11.2 on Same Machine

Previously we used instant client 10.2.0.4 on our development box to connect to 8.1.7.4 and 10.2.0.4 databases. After installing warehouse builder 11.2 we could no longer connect to 8.1.7.4 since the environment was updated to use the 11.2.0.2 client from warehouse builder.
Attempting to fix that, i changed the PATH setting in Windows to put the instantclient directory ahead of the OWB path. Even after restarting, connections to 8.1.7.4 fail with ORA-03134.
How can I get instantclient 10.2.0.4 working without uninstalling OWB?

Client 11g can only connect to 9iR2 onwards only.
You also have to look for ORACLE_HOME environment/registry variable and remove the 11.2 directories from the PATH.
If possible use a batch script specific to the versions you want to use and set the PATH/ORACLE_HOME appropriately.

  • Connecting to oracle DB in Oracle developer day OVA image.

    Hello,
i downloaded the Oracle developer day image and the corresponding software. Started the VM. everything seems fine.
However i am not able to connect. Also, the requried oracle credentials are no where provided. I think as per standards, it should be scott/tiger. but what is the database name ?

See Re: Developer Days VM - Logins for Schemas
The SID name is orcl, and all passwords are "oracle" unless otherwise indicated - this is documented in the first line of the terminal session that opens when you start up the VM and log in as oracle/oracle.

    Hi friends,
i have installed oracle db using Oracle Developer Day.ova for practicing on my lappie.
I want to connect to that DB which is inside oracle vm virtual box manager using PUTTY ( which is on my desktop). I dont want to use the in-built workspace or Terminal(whatever is its name).
Can you guys please suggest what should i do so that i can login to the DB using the PUTTY only (i love it )? i am not able to login to the host "localhost" using the putty.
Few years back when i had installed vmware(linux installed in it and db installed on linux) i could connect through putty.
I am using below entry in the hosts file.
    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
        127.0.0.1       localhost
    #    ::1             localhost
'localhost' and its ip address of 127.0.0.1 are non-routeable.  Any request to send a network message to localhost will never leave the machine from which the request originates.  And for all intents and purposes, your virtual machine is a different machine.

  • Installed Oracle Warehouse Builder which broke SQL Developer

    Version 1.5.4 build MAIN-5940
SQL Developer worked fine. I installed Oracle Warehouse Builder and now SQL Developer cannot make a connection when I click on a connetion in the connectons window. When I look at the properties of the connection they look fine and when I click the "test" button I get a success message. When I click the "connect" button it appears to connect. However, When I click a connection on the navigator window I get this error message
    Invalid connection information specified.
Verify the URL format for the speicified driver.
    Vendor Code 0
I reinstalled SQL Developer but no help.

Don't know OWB, but I asume it installs some version of client, which could be picked up by sqldev.
If the problem really is that client, here's something that usually does it: trick sqldev by changing your ORACLE_HOME within a batch file inside sqldev's folder. This would force using the supplied thin driver:
    set ORACLE_HOME=%CD%
    start sqldeveloper.exeHope that helps,

  • BPEL + Warehouse Builder

    Hi,
I am working on a project where complex files (CSV, XML, Swift ...) need to be read peridocally from a directory and the data they contain must be transforned in order to be stored in Oracle Database 10g Tables.
I am planning to use Oracle BPEL Process Manager for its capability to read heterogenous data sources (CSV, XML, Swift, etc ...). The data it reads would be inserted in a "temporary" table and Warehouse Builder would transform the data of the "temporary" table and insert it in the "final destination" table.
    - Does this structure make sense ?
    - How do I trigger the OWB data transformation after BPEL has finished to insert all the data in the "temporary" table ?
    Thanks

Just in case someone is interested, I have developped a file (of a complex format)import process using BPEL and OWB with the following algorithm (everything is controlled from BPEL):
    - Read file (file polling) and get the data
    - Transform data to map DB schema
    - Insert data in temporary Table
    - Call dynamically a OWB mapping that transforms the data
    - Delete data in temporary Table (using the same variable as insert)
    - Log result
There is also some error management by testing the output results.

  • Problem getting DB Link to work with Warehouse Builder ...

Warehouse builder has a new Module wizard that attempts
to create a database link to a source Metadata Data Dictionary.
When I enter the DB link parameters after selecting 'New DB
    Link'
I get a successful confirmation however when I try to click
on the 'Next' button on the wizard window I get 'Connection
Validation failed - the database link is incorrect'.
How is it that I success in creating a link then it fails
when I try to move to the next step in the wizard?
I tried many different ways of creating db links that I have
tested successfully but don't work within Warehouse Builder.
My environment is simple, both my Oracle 8i and Warehouse
    Builder
are on the same machine and installed in the same home
    directory.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi max7539! I recommend that you try setting up a new Wi-Fi connection to your phone on your camera from scratch, then see if the new app does not recognize the camera. After setting this up from scratch, does the Camera Connect app still not see the camera? If this is a time sensitive-matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.

  • Target Schema creation with Warehouse Builder

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle Enterprise 9.2.0.1.0 and Warehouse Builder 9.2.0.2.8.
The repository, the runtime and the target schema have been created without problem.
I also have created some test jobs and everything run fine.
    My question is:
Can we create a target schema without those tables
    CREATE$JAVA$LOB$TABLE,
    JAVA$CLASS$MD5$TABLE,
    WB_RT_EXCEPTIONS,
    WB_RT_PARAMETERS,
    WB_RT_PLATFORM_CONFIG,
    WB_RT_PLATFORM_PROPERTIES,
    WB_RT_POSTLOAD_EXCEPTIONS,
    WB_RT_SEEDED_STRINGS,
    WB_RT_TIME_SRC.
    Thanks for your answers.

Theoretically you can, but you need these objects accessible from the mapping code, as they log information in these tables.
So you can create synonyms into the target schema, just make sure you have the correct privileges (complete read/write).

  • ERRORS in the Lab - Developer Day: Oracle ADF and Fusion Middleware Dev

I atteneded the Developer Day on Oracler ADF and Fusion Middleware Development on 11/19. I did the lab (following step by step instructions) and encountered the following errors:
    1) Export to Excel (Step 4, actions 5-9) - Got run-time 500 error when run app. I had to skip these steps to be able to continue with the lab.
    2) Click on Printable Page (Step 4, action 16) - I looks like it works, but nothing shown up on the browser or printing actually happened.
    3) Click on Create Insert (Step 4, action 26) - Got Java.Lang.NumberFormatException
    4) There is no lab for mobile application development. Where should I start? [getting mobile plug-in software, lab tutorials]
The instructor said that I could post any questions on the Forum. I hope that this is the correct Forum to post these types of questions. Thanks much in advance for your responses.

  • Hands on Lab JD Edwards Enterprise One Business Service Development

    Hi,
I completed the "Oracle Open World 2008 - Hands on Lab JD Edwards Enterprise One Business Service Development" PDF at [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/fmw4apps/jde/pdf/openworld08_businessservicedevelopment.pdf].
I ran the business service at the end of the lab to get the following error:
Internal Server Error (Caught exception while handing request: oracle.e1.bssvfoundation.exception.E1AuthorizationException: User is not authorized to invoke this published business service)
    How can this be resolved?
We are on 8.12 and 8.97.1.2 tools
    Cheers,
    Steve.

    Hi,
I am having problems at step 5 in your last post.
" 5) Check your Published BSSv is set to published or not in OMW. If not go to security workbench and select the option publish BSSV from Form Exit and Add Custom Published Business service created, make it Executable."
    - The business function is not published. I try to in Security workbench (P00950) and publish BSSV row exit not to find my newly created business service object (JP55HOL). I can see all the standard ones but not mine. I open the P00950 application to know what the underlying tables are in the Business Views the grids source the data from, to find that JP55HOL exists in the Object Librarian table F9860 but not in the Business Service Published Methods P98630. For the business function to be published, the record needs to exist in this table. How could this record not be written and how can it be corrected through the Application?
    - I don't understand what "or not in OMW" means?
Please understand that I have followed the hands on lab with no other BSS setup on 8.12/8.97
    Thanks,
    Steve

You need to find out who the carrier was in Switzerland and see if they will unlock the device. The carrier with the lock is the only one that can authorize the unlock. You may need to check with the original owner and see if they can get it unlocked by the carrier if you do not qualify.
