Developer downloads: data sent = data received / 2

Having celebrated a couple of birthdays waiting for an OS X download to complete over DSL, I looked at Activity Monitor and noticed that the data received rate is 339 K / sec, while the data sent is 175 K / sec. What protocol sends that much data as part of the process of receiving data? TCP is minimal - just ACKs for the received packets. I looked at the netstat output and do not see anything suggestive of a file transfer protocol.

Update: the Comcast van is in the neighborhood. Maybe that had something to do with the lights going when not downloading anything.

I had this same issue. I downloaded APN Settings Shortcut from the play store and it worked for a day then it stopped again. The solution is easier than that... download the Verizon Messages app... bingo - NO more issues...

Data received/sent

So I just got my new 2.0Ghz Aluminium Macbook yesterday. I've been checking the Activity Monitor to see what's running and the Data received is about 500bites and data sent is around 0. Is this normal?
And I had a window pop up yesterday that said something like "Your computer is acting like it has a virus and that it is returning back to normal security settings". Is there anyway I can check to see if it's really a virus without downloading a virus protection program? Everything seems to be running fine. I hope the "data sent" isn't because of a virus.

You can ignore the pop-up. Those are generally generated by websites that try to trick you into either downloading mal-ware or purchasing their utilities to "clean" your machine. It's almost guaranteed that any company that uses these techniques is not offering anything you would want to install.
So far as your network activity... that totally depends on what you happen to be doing. It's not likely that it's a virus. There are no virus' currently in the wild for the Macs. You would need to specifically download and give your permission to install an application with any sort of potential virus in it.

It's a catch 22. I think Adobe still had my old email address, which I have deleted with Comcast.
Therefore, Adobe cannot send me a change of password form, nor can I update my email.
I think Chat is my best bet, but cannot find link.
Note, I may not be able to receive forum responses, if Adobe notifies my old email address.
If I need to sign in to get responses, I cannot do that either. Adobe reports an error if I use my old address.

I was able to download the Lightroom 5.6 update without any errors. If you continue to face difficulties you may want to try a different Internet connection or download the update onto a USB drive on a different computer.

Each message shows same date and time for sent and received.

Each of the thousands of messages in Mail shows that the message was sent and received at the same time. Somehow, Mail is displaying incorrect information. In other words, the "date sent" and "date received" columns are identical. What can I do to Mail to get it to put the correct "sent" time in the column?

Are you asking a question or making a suggestion? If you're asking if you can change Messages to show the time stamp for every message, no, you can't. If you are trying to make a suggestion to Apple, the appropriate place to do that is here:

How do I show "year" in date received or sent columns?

+My constant struggle with Mail goes on but I am not giving up yet.+
Mail shows me month, day, hour and minute. But not the year of messages received or sent.
When I upgraded to Snow Leopard and switched from using Entourage to Mail, I imported all my mail and folders. That part worked ok. However, none of those messages - or current new ones, show the year of the message. Since I have a lot of messages stored in folders that span a few years this is very confusing.
I have searched Mail Help; I tried every Preference option I thought made any sense, but I cannot find anything that allows me to show Year in the Date Received or Sent columns.
Please, can anyone point me in the right direction?

What do you mean "see if it is displaying the date?"
That pull down menu offers four options: none, default, all or custom. There's nothing there pertaining to date.
In any case, I have tried all four and, of course, none make the date appear in Received or Sent columns. I say, of course, because this drop down is about Headers. I don't want to and shouldn't have to look into each message to see the date. The date - the year as well as month, day, etc., should show in the inbox columns.
This is seriously nuts that it doesn't and that I cannot find a way to make it do so.

HT1725 I purchased an episode of the tv show Hannibal. Attempted download. Said download was completed yet received only a 30 second trailer of the episode. Tried 4 times, used 5GB data and still don't have the episode on my iPad.

That's very scary. They might do it, but I personally have never had Apple contact me re id's except on their site when signing in. I suggest you DO NOT respond until you have a phone conversation with Apple security. They can verify if they sent you the e-mail and why.
While it's very possible it's true,again, I suggest you not respond until you speak to someone at Apple. I've often read here that when people sign in they are not allowed to because "someone else has used the id" type of statement.
Also, you should be able to go to the app store and see what apps you have downloaded.
Though it could have been a free app, have you checked to see if any were bought with your id account?
I've gotten these types of e-mails from places like USPS and FedEx which look amazingly authentic and were from their website. I also received an odd e-mail from my cousin in Ireland last year that clearly was not from him. It was also sent to others in his family in Ireland. I e-mailed him that I only opened it because it had a .ie, but suggested he change... Days later I received mail from 'him' - same name, but at yahoo.com.
Again, I would call Apple. You can also report it at [email protected], but I would not settle for that given your situation. If nothing else, call Apple sales (sales depts. anywhere answer fast) and ask them to transfer you to security. Apple will not want anybody accessing their name, and while it's unlikely, it's not impossible that it is someone phishing.

will anyone show me the possible solution to rectify this error

Here is a small sample program to convert data in an internal table into XML format and display it.
DATA: itab TYPE TABLE OF spfli,
      l_xml TYPE REF TO cl_xml_document.
* Read data into a ITAB
SELECT * FROM spfli INTO TABLE itab.
* Create the XML Object
CREATE OBJECT l_xml.
* Convert data in ITAB to XML
CALL METHOD l_xml->create_with_data( name = 'Test1'
                                     dataobject = t_goal[] ).
* Display XML Document
CALL METHOD l_xml->display.
Here are some other sample SAP programs to handle XML in ABAP:
BCCIIXMLT1, BCCIIXMLT2, and BCCIIXMLT3.

Download data entered via web to a text file.

I'm developing a very simple BSP aplication in which the user enters via web some data in some fields. This data is store in an internal table. This table is an attribute in the application class. In this class there is a method to save the data to a file in presentation server. I've tried using WS_DOWNLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD but these function modules don't work. I would like to know if there some function modules or methods to download data to a file and that can be used in a BSP aplication.

Welcome to the forum. As with all things new in life, one does not know where to start immediately. I would like to recommend the <a href="/people/brian.mckellar/blog/2004/06/11/bsp-trouble-shooting-getting-help">Getting Help</a> guide as first interesting article to read.
Specifically you are interested in the section for searching this forum. Use keywords such as download or GUI_DOWNLOAD. Also consider to look at keyword Excel. Although not exactly on topic, the Excel discussions does address this partly. All of this has been discussed many time before.
Finally, consider to read <a href="/people/mark.finnern/blog/2003/09/23/bsp-programming-handling-of-non-html-documents">BSP Programming: Handling Of Non-HTML Documents</a>. This will really show you some different techniques to download files onto the computer.

Retreiving/Downloading Data

Hello,
I'm looking into downloading data from an internal table into my .NET application. I have done a bit of research and discovered WS_DOWNLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD but both of these seem to require the SAPGUI to be installed. (I get the error: "Screen output without connection to user")
Currently the system only requires:
SAP.Connector.dll
SAP.Connector.Rfc.dll
Librfc32.dll
Is there another way of getting data back with only these DLLs?

Thanks for the reply however the information you sent only contains basic information on how to use the .NET Connector. I already know how to call RFC's and BAPI's and get the results but I'm looking for a way to download data from an internal table. I know I should be able to run ABAP that calls GUI_DOWNLOAD but this requires the SAP GUI installed and on a web application I'm not really sure that this is the best method.
I suppose I could also write abap to fill the WRITES table which is returned but this just seems like a bad idea, especially if I'm downloading large amounts of data.
Just wondering if i'm on the right track with this or whether there is a better way.

2. Oracle external tables.
3. Data Pump
4. SQL Loader.
5. PL/SQL => utl_file package.
6. Oracle SQL developer tool - it was a nice surprise this morning to know that this tool can be used to import data into Oracle database.
