Hi Experts
When i am trying to create a z programs it is asking Access key.
Can anybody please tell what is Developer key, Access key and OSS key and difference among them.

The developer key is a combination of you installation number, your license key (that you get from http://service.sap.com/licensekey) and the user name
Object Access key - This key will be available in service.sap.com and is for modifying the standard SAP Objects

Hi,
There is no need to pay for developer key or object access key. You can get them from service market place under Keys & Request tab and SSCR. You need to have a valid S-User with proper authorization to generate the keys. Below is the link for the same where select the Keys & Request and under that SSCR Keys. Then from there you can generate Developer and object access keys.

OSS Id and Developer key info needed

Hi Experts,
We raised a request to create a OSS Id for our server to SAP BASIS team. They created a OSS Id, but we couldn't see our system's IP address in marketplace site with the Admin person's( The person who created our OSS Id) userId. So, they couldn't create developer key for our server. I think that the Admin person had done some mistakes.
The OSS Id what they have created is not for our server, this we came to know from his Service marketplace userId. We don't have proper OSS Id, so that they couldn't create developer key. What is use of developer key? If we don't have proper OSS Id and no developer key then, what all problem we have to face for PI 7.0 and ECC 6.0 access.
The PI server was working fine for sometime, but now we are getting cache issues and BPM scenarios are not reflecting in the SXI_CACHE. Is these issues because of the OSS Id and developer key or some Post-installation steps are missed out?
We are going to install PI 7.0 and ECC6.0 and we need a proper OSS Id this time. Do we need to mention our server IP address while raising the OSS Id request to SAP marketplace?

OSS id is just a sapservice logon and is related to you companny agreement wih SAP and with assigned to your company installation numbers.
With this OSS id you can then :
-Create SAP systems under selected installation numbers - this allows you to request licenses and
upgrade keys for the system
-Register developers for this sap systems ( developer key)

Developer key is user-specific which gives a particular user the developer rights, such as program creation/modification. It is enough to enter the developer key only once for a user.
On the other hand VOFM/ Object key is object-specific which can be used to edit a SAP standard program Or create a new program in SAP name space(in case of routines).
Both keys can be registered and obtained from Service Market Place.

Hi Shaik,
You will not get developer key through OSS note. You can fetch developer key if you have adminsatration rights through Transaction Oss1> Then Enter userd ID/Password>Register> Define system --> type of access like Register Developer.

Developer Key for MiniSAP

Gurus:
Does anyone know how to get a Developer Key for MiniSAP?
I had successfully installed MiniSAP and have been coding ABAP for a month...now I had to update the License for MiniSAP and since I have successfully installed the new license (good for 90 days), now when I enter SE38 to modify or create my code it asks for a Developer's Key (also called a License Key).
If I go to OSS with my S-User that doesn't work either, as DEMOSYSTEM is not a registered system to ask for a key.
I'm stumped....any guidance would be deeply appreciated, as at the moment...no coding possible.
(I could reinstall MiniSAP, but then I lose all my code) eh?

P.S. I do see the key # in the table DEVACCESS, but when I type in that key for BCUSER...well...nothing....doesn't accept that key.

Removal of Developer Key entry from DEVACCESS Table.

On table DEVACCESS, in QTY/DEV/Prod there is one person with Developer Key listed that I would like to remove, User is no more working and now we want to delete the entry from this table which has the User name followed by the Developer key assigned.
Could any one guide me in deleting the Developer Key access from the DEVACCESS table.

Another alternative is to use SE11 to create a maintenance view (ex: ZV_DEVACCESS). Secure the maintenance view with a custom authorization group. With the maintenance view you have the ability to use SM30 to maintain the DEVACCESS data.
That keeps the DEVACCESS table from changing and thus no need to register the change with SAP.

List of Developer Keys in the production enviroment

Can anybody tell me how to obtain a correct list of users with developer keys. There are currently two ways of getting a list of users with developer Keys
(1)Generate a list through the SAP support portal.
(2)Obtain a list of names in the DEVACCESS table.
Which is the correct method to use? my understanding was that all developer keys are on the "SAP support portal", and once a user uses their developer key the entry is added to the DEVACCESS table, is this correct?

I do not think that there is one "correct" way on getting this, it depends on your requirement.
If you take it from the SAP support Portal, it will give you the users id's who potentially would have the possibility to do development in your system. But it will not tell you, if they have received it, or if they have access to your system at all.
If you take it from DEVACCESS, these developers have been doing some development in your system - "The Guilty ones ", (or at least has tried to enter a workbench object in create/change mode). But based on this list you can't be sure that new developers won't popup, but again this should be controlled by your security setup / the authorizations granted

Developer Key Authentication

The develoepr key for a developer is cretaed in the Service Market Place.Once the key is given for creation/change of a program, the developer key entry is updated in the DEVACCESS table of the corresponding development environment.
But how the key created at the market place is authenticated in the Development environement.
Is there any communication between the Market Place and the SAP Development environment after the developer key is created?

I am not sure whether it realy is implemented as a one way hash function like the password hashes are.
The kernel function imports only the key and sets sy-subrc. Whether it uses the hash to verify the user and correct licensing data, or whether it computes the expected hash and compares them is debatable.
As there are different types of developer licenses, and this is attached to the key AFAIK, I suspect that it is not a one way hash. A one way hash could also call the kernel function with user name as import parameter or no impprt parameters at all to verify what is in DEVACCESS.
Anyway, IMO the key mechanism is an organizational and licensing issue based on a certain degree of trust in the customer implementation and not really a security mechanism to rely on. Enough S_DEVELOP (or z-programs, or program errors) is sufficient to create your own program (you can create your own SE38 in the debugger in about 2 lines of changed variables).
Using the application authorizations to determine access is a safer bet in this case.

Is there any way to find out when the developer key was activated in the system? table DEVACCESS doesn't give the date on which it was applied.

I'm unsure of the table where it is stored, but if you have access to create the Developer Key (or if you can speak with the person at your site that does), all you have to do is try and re-create the developer key and you will receive a message giving the access key and saying something along the lines of "was already created on MM/DD/YYYY". I know it's not a table, but it is a method to derive the date you are looking for.

Abap proxy - developer key

When I log into XI ABAP stack and try to create a ABAP program in SE38, I able to do it with the given developer key.
But if I run SPROXY in XI and try to create a ABAP proxy system says my developer key is invalid.
What am I missing? Do I need to grant any privileges ?

For every sap system for development you need development key and you need enter this only first time for development / user id.
Now As you said you are able to generate ABAP program in XI ABAP stack..because development key was generated for that sap installation number.
Can you check if you have same installation number for your XI ABAP stack and R/3 system where you are generating proxy. ( Remember you are generating proxy's in different sap r/3 system...not in same) You can check your system installation number by system-->status after login into abap stack.
If you have different installation number then you need to generate new developer access key for your user id for r/3 system where you are generating proxys.

Installing any of the MI demo applications (without a developer key)

Hey guys,
I want to install any of the MI 2.5 demo applications that are part of the MDK documentation. I tried to install the Inventory app, which works for the client, but the backend components (really living on the middleware system) are not there. It needs a table MDK_INVENTORY and some BAPI wrappers to access the table.
Since I am running a test license and I am not a registered developer, I cannot create the table with SE11, which is asking me for the Developer Key and the Object Access Key.
Is there any package, that I can install?
Or maybe for one of the other applications?

in Ashima's suggestion there are BAPI wrappers MEREP_CONTACT_GETLIST and MEREP_CONTACT_GETDETAIL and the docs say
"To fill these tables with demo data, you can use the reports MEREP_SAP_EXM002_DATA_GEN1 and MEREP_SAP_EXM002_DATA_GEN2."
I tried to execute the reports with Transaction SC38, but they do not work because the SyncBO SAP_EXM002 does not exist and of course
I cannot create it, since it is in the SAP name space.
I cannot find any MEREP* or MI* table that I could add data manually.
Using MEREP_COUNTRY_GETLIST in a SyncBO returns an error when I click the "mapping" button:
"Deafult value for parameter SPRAS has no effect at runtime."

I installed a 6.40 SR1 (which is SP09) and upgraded
- BASIS to SP20
- ABA to SP20
- PI_BASIS to SP10 (2004_1_640)
I did not upgrade BW, which still is SP09
Any ideas how to get a basic tutorial app installed?

Developer's key is used to register the user with SAP, so that he can do the changes in the system .
Developer key is what you need to create objects in the system. Your OSS admin should be able to get you one from service.sap.com
You can generate it
Go to the: https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/support -> Keys & Requests - > SSCR Keys - > Register developer
As you said you are using IDES.
May be this key will work. Try it.
