Developer key issue

all please let me know it is possible we use one developer key two system.we have same sid and same host name and it is install same solman key.and same user name.

Hi,
By registering a developer in service market place we will get a developer key. So it is depends on the customer number in SAP and the SID you are using when you are applying for the license in Market place.
If you use same SID with the same customer number you can use the same developer key for two different installations.

Tecra M10 - Stuck CTRL key issue -- perhaps to do with BIOS?

I recently switched my Tecra M10 to Windows 7 (from XP) and it soon developed the dreaded "stuck CTRL key" issue. This causes the keyboard to behave as if the CTRL key is permanently depressed. Sometimes hitting a combination of keys, or bringing up the onscreen keyboard, temporarily solves the issue, but then it returns.
It seems to be an issue many people have, with no simple solution. I've looked at every thread about it I can find, and tried many things to do with drivers etc. without any success.
So firstly, if anyone knows a remedy that works for this particular machine, I would be very grateful to learn it!
Then, there are two things I've not yet done: update BIOS and disable pinch zoom.
I was looking at the following BIOS update:

... which is version 3.00 and seems to be most recent. My own version is 1.90.
However version 3.00 is labelled "For PTMB0* ONLY". I don't know what this means or whether it applies to me. Can anyone help? Should I install this BIOS?
For the pinch zoom, I've been told that disabling it does sometimes cure the CTRL problem -- but I can't find any pinch zoom facility on the M10. I suspect it simply doesn't have one. Is that right?

There are different Tecra M10 models on the market.
Check the labels at the bottom of the unit. There you should find some numbers like for example PTMB0E-01K00LGR
The first 6 characters are important: for example PTMB0E
I assume your notebook belongs to European series.
In such case you should check the Toshiba EU driver page for possible BIOS update.

However, on Toshiba EU driver page you will find also the BIOS v3.0 for all European Tecra M10 units.
Anyway, back to the CTRL button issue: guess what, you should connect an external USB keyboard and should check how the CTRL button acts.
In case the USB keyboard would work properly, the CTRL button of internal keyboard is affected and you will need to replace the internal keyboard.
PS: it could be possible that the option "sticky keys" has been enabled. To disable this function, you have to press SHIFT button 5 times in the row.

Developer Key Authentication

The develoepr key for a developer is cretaed in the Service Market Place.Once the key is given for creation/change of a program, the developer key entry is updated in the DEVACCESS table of the corresponding development environment.
But how the key created at the market place is authenticated in the Development environement.
Is there any communication between the Market Place and the SAP Development environment after the developer key is created?

I am not sure whether it realy is implemented as a one way hash function like the password hashes are.
The kernel function imports only the key and sets sy-subrc. Whether it uses the hash to verify the user and correct licensing data, or whether it computes the expected hash and compares them is debatable.
As there are different types of developer licenses, and this is attached to the key AFAIK, I suspect that it is not a one way hash. A one way hash could also call the kernel function with user name as import parameter or no impprt parameters at all to verify what is in DEVACCESS.
Anyway, IMO the key mechanism is an organizational and licensing issue based on a certain degree of trust in the customer implementation and not really a security mechanism to rely on. Enough S_DEVELOP (or z-programs, or program errors) is sufficient to create your own program (you can create your own SE38 in the debugger in about 2 lines of changed variables).
Using the application authorizations to determine access is a safer bet in this case.

Sneak preview ABAP - Developer Key too long.

I installed Sneak preview ABAP edition and I requested the developer key, the key I have received is of 24 digits where as the size of the screen field is 20 digits. I don't know how I can get the correct key.

OSS Id and Developer key info needed

Hi Experts,
We raised a request to create a OSS Id for our server to SAP BASIS team. They created a OSS Id, but we couldn't see our system's IP address in marketplace site with the Admin person's( The person who created our OSS Id) userId. So, they couldn't create developer key for our server. I think that the Admin person had done some mistakes.
The OSS Id what they have created is not for our server, this we came to know from his Service marketplace userId. We don't have proper OSS Id, so that they couldn't create developer key. What is use of developer key? If we don't have proper OSS Id and no developer key then, what all problem we have to face for PI 7.0 and ECC 6.0 access.
The PI server was working fine for sometime, but now we are getting cache issues and BPM scenarios are not reflecting in the SXI_CACHE. Is these issues because of the OSS Id and developer key or some Post-installation steps are missed out?
We are going to install PI 7.0 and ECC6.0 and we need a proper OSS Id this time. Do we need to mention our server IP address while raising the OSS Id request to SAP marketplace?

OSS id is just a sapservice logon and is related to you companny agreement wih SAP and with assigned to your company installation numbers.
With this OSS id you can then :
-Create SAP systems under selected installation numbers - this allows you to request licenses and
upgrade keys for the system
-Register developers for this sap systems ( developer key)

Tool to generate SAP Developer key (exists)

Dear Experts,
I have incident here from our consultant who got a proper SAP Developer key. After few questions, we found out he got it via a tool which can generate a proper SAP developer key. I have checked in Marketplace SCCR, there was no record for his user ID's.
Anyone ever encountered this incident? I still don't believed people can generate exact SAP Developer key (I registered his ID's from SAP Marketplace and more surprising got the same number). I just curious how this possible.

I am agree with you and raised complain to the consultant. I know there are some way to hack requirement for developer key but my current issue is he got the proper (exact) SAP developer key without generated via Marketplace. How that is possible?
My opinion, only person who got in touch with SAP kernel developer (or hacker of SAP kernel) you know exactly how to generate SAP developer key.
I just curious because this is the first time I got this incident from my 15 years SAP life. hacking ABAP program to avoid developer key are one thing, but generating proper and exact SAP developer key without marketplace is totally differently level of hacker.

What would a license (customer no) change do to a developer key?

We have an ECC6 installation which was set up with a license key from the wrong customer number. It is only a demo IDES system but really we want to tidy this up - we have a new license key with the correct customer number now and are ready to install...
HOWEVER: we have previously given an ABAPER a development key obtained using the first customer number. If we now change the license (and therefore the customer number), could this cause any issues with developments he has done? Or will we simply have to provide a new development key?

Windows 8 Key Issue

Here's my problem. Windows 8 came preinstalled on my computer; however, I accidently deleted the Windows 8 key from the bios and now Windows keeps asking me to enter the correct key. Since there is no longer a sticker with the key included with the computer I have no way of finding the key. Does HP keep a record of the keys tagged to the serial number? Or am I just out of luck?
I called HP Support about this and they told me to get the key off the CDs which were included with the computer. When I told him there were no CDs, he said I had bought a used computer mascarading as new because all of their computers ship with Windows CDs. When I disputed this he said that Microsoft could solve the issue for me. Microsoft said that HP could solve it. Can anyone help me? I'd rather not spend money on buying Windows 8

HP does not retain records of the keys issued . HP also does not ship Windows CD's with the computers unless they were specifically ordered. If you have somehow deleted the key then you are out of luck, sorry.
Please mark my post as SOLVED if it has resolved your problem. It helps others with similar situations.

T400 stuck key issue

I bought my T400 2764-CTO in last December, and started using it on mini dock without any problem. Until recently, it starts to show stuck key issue randomly (not always failure) both at boot up or under Windows Vista.

0210 Stuck Key FF
Press <F1> to SetUp
Note: the stuck key keeps changing, sometimes 13, sometimes 1F, sometimes other key.
I opened the laptop, and checked the connection of the keyboard but couldn't locate any problem there. Can this be a keyboard issue? Or even a motherboard issue?
Can Lenovo swap a new keyboard for me? If so, what do I need to do then?

You can call Lenovo service, and log a service call, they will make the necessary arrangements. If you are not confident with bios update then please don't do it youself, and let the warranty department do it for you, as any mistakes can make your laptop useless and you will be paying couple hundreds of euros to get the motherboard replaced.

Developer Key for MiniSAP

Gurus:
Does anyone know how to get a Developer Key for MiniSAP?
I had successfully installed MiniSAP and have been coding ABAP for a month...now I had to update the License for MiniSAP and since I have successfully installed the new license (good for 90 days), now when I enter SE38 to modify or create my code it asks for a Developer's Key (also called a License Key).
If I go to OSS with my S-User that doesn't work either, as DEMOSYSTEM is not a registered system to ask for a key.
I'm stumped....any guidance would be deeply appreciated, as at the moment...no coding possible.
(I could reinstall MiniSAP, but then I lose all my code) eh?

Removal of Developer Key entry from DEVACCESS Table.

On table DEVACCESS, in QTY/DEV/Prod there is one person with Developer Key listed that I would like to remove, User is no more working and now we want to delete the entry from this table which has the User name followed by the Developer key assigned.
Could any one guide me in deleting the Developer Key access from the DEVACCESS table.

Another alternative is to use SE11 to create a maintenance view (ex: ZV_DEVACCESS). Secure the maintenance view with a custom authorization group. With the maintenance view you have the ability to use SM30 to maintain the DEVACCESS data.
That keeps the DEVACCESS table from changing and thus no need to register the change with SAP.

that link is working for me. there might have been a transient problem (or perhaps a maintenance window) with the web site when you tried it earlier.
the codename Cirrus service remains a free, unsupported, beta, "as-is" service, as it has been from its first day. it is still alive and functioning normally, with plenty of activity. i answer questions in this forum when i can and when doing so is appropriate.
for more information about the terms of service, please read the Terms of Use in the developer key sign-up page (which, as i said above, does appear to be working right now).
