Developer patchset
Hi,
I am just trying to figure out what is the current developer patchset my current instance is on (11.5.10 on windows)
From the help menu in forms, i figured out that the version is 6.0.8.24.1 ie on patchset 15.
According to the note Note:232313.1, the corresponding patch is 3935987
But i am not able to find this neither in ad_bugs or ad_applied_patches.
I am i missing something ?

You can also look at the Maintenance Pack instructions for your release (or rapid install version) to see what shipped with your release. For both 11.5.10 and 11.5.10.2 rapid install versions, it appears to be Developer 6i patchset 15 as you deduced.

Not sure why 3935987 doesn't appear in your ad_bugs. You probably should consider upgrading to Developer 6i patchset 18. It has been required since January 2007 CPU.

I have developed an application in Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.8.0 (Production).
I am facing the problem that Oracle Forms Runtime crashes when navigating the application most of the time when exiting the form using EXIT_FORM. In the dump file i check that following is the cause of this crash.
Client Status [ConnId=0, PID=3244]
ERROR: Abnormal termination, Error Code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATIONIn another forum i read that this is the known problem in this version and you have to install Oracle Developer patchset 4 to resolve it.
Where can i download this patch? URL?

The latest release which is certified against the 10g db rel. 1 is patch 17.
That's the last released forms 6i version. For newer databases you should migrate to forms 10g -

1. what is this Developer 6i,It is the 8.0.6 ORACLE_HOME, where the developer 6i is installed and you can find all executable files (forms, reports, ..etc) under this home. If you still need to have more details about this, refer to "Oracle Applications Concept" manual.

However, you can refer to the documents referenced in each task above and it should cover if any testing need to be done or not (for example, the Developer Patchset doc). For the rest of the docs you will have to do your regular testing (test the application/database and make sure it is working properly).
Also, make sure you review (Known issues on Top of 11i.ATG_PF.H. delta.6 (RUP6) - 5903765 [ID 459353.1]).
ATG RUP 7 is the latest 11i.ATG_PF patch.

Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Hi All,
The report builder in my system is behaving weirdly. If I open a report, which is having a normal browser output, it allowing me to see the data model, layout model and everything. And if I open a report, which is having a PDF output, it's not allowing me to open the Layout.
Here the output is in context of Oracle Applications front-end. And as I know it shouldn't be a problem with Report Builder.
It errors out with the following message.
Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
And the error report contains the following message.

I have tried reinstalling the software a minimum of 10 times, but no luck. At last I got my system formatted and tried. For the first time it worked for me, then I installed Forms Builder... then again I am getting the same problem even though I have different homes for Reports and Forms.
Is it problem with my system or the Operating System or the version of the Oracle Developer?
Can anyone please help me out?

To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
1. Download one-off Patch 5335195 for v. 10.1.2.0.2 to the XP/2003 box.
2. Back up existing uiw.dll for 10.1.2.3 880KB 10/10/2006 7:23PM --> uiw_orig_10.1.2.3.zip
3. In the %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory, replace uiw.dll (880KB) with the uiw.dll (1,316KB) from
Patch 5335195 --> 1,316KB 7/24/06 11:12PM
4. Re-launch Report Builder 10.1.2.3.0 on XP/2003.
5. Open the <large report>.rdf.
6. Double-click on the Paper Layout icon.
7. The result should be: Successfully open the Paper Layout for <large report>.rdf.

No, except you upgrade your developer patchset which should not be an issue for the customized forms you have.

As per above update the forms runaway process has opened two database sessions 428 and 445. And we should always ignore the SID which has prog_module column as FNDSCSGN (here 428). Look for other sessions which are having status as INACTIVE. If they are INACTIVE for more than 8hrs (time can be conifirmed from callet/3600 column). If session is inactive for more than 8hrs , then you can kill the both sessions and and f60webmx process.

We needs to check all form nodes for the following:
· Is Developer 6i at least Developer Patchset 16 (3596539)
· Set the forms applet heartBeat and FORMS60_TIMEOUT (Developer 6i) or FORMS90_TIMEOUT (Developer 9i) parameter:
1) Create an environment variable in $APPL_TOP/admin/adovars.env using autoconfig customization tags (see http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showNOT?p_id=182925.1#implement) called FORMS60_TIMEOUT (Forms 6i) or FORMS90_TIMEOUT (Forms 9i).
This parameter specifies the amount of time in elapsed minutes before the Forms Server process is terminated when there is no client communication with the Forms Server. The internal default value is 15, and valid values are integers between 1 - 1440 minutes.
Set FORMS60_TIMEOUT / FORMS90_TIMEOUT to a value of 5:
· FORMS60_TIMEOUT=5 (or FORMS90_TIMEOUT=5)
2) Set the forms applet heartBeat parameter:
In the base html file, insert a new parameter called heartBeat. This parameter sets the frequency at which a client sends a packet to the server to indicate that it is still running. The default value is two minutes. Set this parameter value to greater than the value specified for the FORMS60_TIMEOUT variable, in this case 7 minutes is recommended:

We are in the process of upgrading one of our 11.5.8 instances to 11.5.10.2. In this process we initially upgraded the database from 8.1.7.4 to 9.2.0.7 and applied all the pre-req patches required for applying the 11.5.10.2 maintenance pack as stated in the TUMS report. This also included upgrading Developer 6i patchset from patchset 18 to patchset 27. After we applied all the pre-req patches, we again ran the TUMS utility on DB and Apps. The DB report ran fine but the apps report is erroring out with the following error message:

Capture Design Forms in Designer 6i problem
I install Oracle 8.1.6 release 2 for Windows NT, I also install
Designer 6i.
Everything work well except when I try to capture design of form
(Generate -> Capture Design of -> Form...) I get the following error:
"CDD-23564: The file "XX:\ORANT\BIN\cfr61.dll" could not be loaded or
doeas not exist."
"The specified file or one its dependent files could not be loaded.
This may be because a file has not been installed, or is not
correctly defined in the system registry.
As an example dependency, the Forms Generator files require the
Form Builder files installed as part of Developer."
and action:
"Check the registry settings for the location of the required
file. Also check the product and any required dependencies
e.g.Developer have been installed correctly.
If necessary, try reinstalling."
I check the folder and the file is there. I re-installes alrready the designer and the error still there.

We have a situation,
We want to use RAID COntroller on Pseries Machine which requires that we must have AIX 5.3 TL 003
But if we install AIX 5.3 TL we get with it APAR IY68989 and APAR IY73497
After Cloning OR upgradation of OS mainentance level , user is getting " ORA-01402 : no data found "
ORA-01402 : no data found
OR
'FRM-40815:Variable GLOBAL.LLL(xx) does not exist'
Direct to the point, the issue is
1- After the installation and the post installation tasks went successfully I tried to create a user from sysadmin responsibility and I faced the following error when trying to display responsibilities to that user.
ORA-01403: no data foundFRM-40502: ORACLE error: unable to read list of values.
FRM-40815: Variable GLOBAL.LLL(xx) does not exist.
This problem seems to affect several different LOVs.
According to metalink note 338469.1 the problem is related to IBM OS security patches (APAR IY68989 and APAR IY73497) and there are 2 solutions for this problem
Solution
1. Please execute the following OS command to check if patches APAR IY68989 and APAR IY73497
# instfix -ik IY68989
# instfix -ik IY73497
2. Workaround:
Revert the patches (APAR IY68989 and APAR IY73497 ) applied in the system
Note :- If the status of the patch is "applied" , then it can be rolled back ,but if it is "committed" then it can not be rolled back
3. Permanent Solution:
If the above patches are present in your system , please do a Help / Info about in any form, you will get the Oracle Forms version like 6.0.8.x.x .
As per your forms version, please apply the appropriate patch from one listed below
For Release 11i
o Patch: 4689213 (forms version 6.0.8.24.x i.e Patch-set 15)
o Patch: 4670400 (forms version 6.0.8.25.x i.e Patch-set 16)
o Patch: 4689364 (forms version6.0.8.26.x i.e Patch-set 17)
o W.r.t internal Bug 4698290 , fix for this is included in Patch-set 18 (i.e 6.0.8.27.x ) and later
For R12
o Patch: 4698290 (Forms version 10.1.2.0.2)
o W.r.t internal Bug 4699197 , fix for this is included in forms version 10.1.2.2.0
However , the version of forms which we have is :
$ which f60gen
/oratec/prodora/8.0.6/bin/f60gen
$ f60gen |grep Forms|grep Version
Forms 6.0 (Form Compiler) Version 6.0.8.21.3 (Production)
So there is no patch for it from ORACLE or AIX
Upgrade of forms is not a possibility because we have too many customized forms.
Now,
1) Anyone has a solution for this problem ?
2) Will 11.5.9 work with AIX 6.1 or AIX 7.1 ?No, except you upgrade your developer patchset which should not be an issue for the customized forms you have.

Your custom reports should work find after this upgrade, and in case you have any issues you can try to compile those forms again -- How to Generate Form, Library and Menu for Oracle Applications (11i and R12) [ID 130686.1]
