Developer program - individual vs. company

I signed up for the Dev Program a few weeks ago as a company and I'm still waiting for a response from Apple. I've read posts saying that individuals were able to get all signed up within days. Is it true that registering as a company takes much longer? For those of you who are approved as a company, how long did it take? What should I expect in terms of emails? I have an app completed and I'm frustrated/excited to get it in the store.

Verifying the existence of a company is a much more involved process than verifying the existence of an individual since all state and local governments have differing requirements as to what exactly comprises a "company." If you have a FEIN then it shouldn't be too difficult. If you're a sole-proprietorship or other Federally disregarded entity then most institutions will request some sort of documentation in the form of a fictitious name filing or business license, and these have to be looked over by an actual person who knows what they should look like, so it will obviously take some time.

  • Register Developer Program as a company

    Hi, I need to transfer my developer program from individual developer to a company. I understand I need to show Apple that I does have a company. What kind of documents Apple is asking for? I got a business license from my city. Is this enough?
    Thanks,
    fireman

    Everything is online.
    The Dev Center is your first stop via http://developer.apple.com/
    Installing Xcode, as an example, means documentation is available as a followon/download with NDAs easier to enforce.
    The idea is to keep a main source that the dev understand represents latest version, rather than uncontrolled documentation such as print would represent,. etc.

  • IPhone Developer program Individual vs Enterprise

    Hello everybody,
    my company is looking for the certificate for the developer program, but we haven't understood some points.
    For individual : is the license right for a company?
    For Enterprise : it says that we can distribute it by email, does it mean that the end user can download the application through the iPhone or he/she has to download it on the computer first and install it through iTunes?
    Thank you for your help

    The Deskjet series printers connect to wireless networks with what is called USB to Wireless.
    You will need a supported operating system to connect a Deskjet to a wireless network.  Supported operating systems to connect the printer to a wireless network are Windows 7 (32bit and 64bit), Windows Vista (32bit and 64bit), and Mac OS X (10.5, 10.6, and 10.7).
    While there is a software download option for Linux distributions, this is not the full featured software that is capable of adding the printer to a wireless network.  Most printers have a wireless setup wizard to accomplish this task, but the Deskjet series printers connect in a different way.
    Once the printer is connected to a wireless network,  HPLIP 3.12.4 drivers should be able to locate the printer.
    Click on Installing the Product Software for a Wireless Network Connection to receive instructions to connect to a wireless network using Windows and Mac operating systems.
    Click on Software & Driver Downloads - HP Deskjet 3070A e-All-in-One Printer - B611a to download the appropriate software for a supported operating system to connect to a wireless network.

  • What email to use for iOS developer program for company

    Hi, I'm planning to register to iOS developer program as a company. My question is, should I use my company email to create the Apple ID? If sometime in the future I leave the company, can the Apple ID email be changed ?

    I would recommend you to use Blowfish, but if you think you dont need a very strong algorithm and prefer to focus on performance(speed),then a 56-bit DES would be adequate.
    You need the javax.crypto.* and javax.crypto.spec.* packages.
    If you will store the information in a file, after you encrypt the data, base64 encode it.
    (there are base64 encode/decode classes in sun.misc package)
    I show u a method implementing that:
    public String encryptTxt(String txt,String key){
       try{
          SecretKeySpec specKey=new SecretKeySpec(key, "Blowfish");
          Cipher cipher=Cipher.getInstance("Blowfish"););
          cipher.init( Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, specKey);
          return new String(  new BASE64Encoder().encodeBuffer( cipher.doFinal(txt.getBytes())) );
       }catch(Exception e){return txt;}
      }HTH

  • If I register as individual for Developer Program, can I change to company at later date?

    If I register as individual for Developer Program, can I change to company at later date?

    I've done that.
    You have to fax Apple the documents of incorporation (the stuff you get from the state government in the US) that show you are a real business (or at least hoping to be).
    They guide you through the process.
    It took 2 or 3 days to complete.
    Pretty simple.

  • Switching Apple ID of a individual Developer Program acct due to new italian Business Apple Store registration

    Hello all. I have a individual iOS Developer Program Membership with Apple ID.
    Until last year my membership payment invoice was missing my VAT ID, meaning it was useless for my country fiscal law (I live in Italy).
    Now there is the new italian Apple Store for Business that's supposed to produce correct invoices for my country, but still I have no means to add my VAT ID to my Apple ID account.
    I contacted the phone support, they told me I need to register to the Business Store with a *new* Apple ID.
    So, supposing I create a new Apple ID, how do I switch my Developer Program membership to the new ID, provided it's an individual one with no multiple person/roles support?
    Is really impossible to add my VAT number to my Apple ID?
    Any help appreciated

    Who do you want to be in email for support, etc.? Do you want to be kwarp on the internet and on a resume? What image do you want to project? Individual or business or phantom or...? How good are you at juggling both references? Which would you want on a business card?
    I wouldn't want to strictly maintain two IDs (nick versus real), especially for the long term.
    Pick one and stick with it. Let the other be incidental.
    I also believe these are detailed when doing the contracts, with at least partial explanations of how they will be used, so you can ponder your way during the application process.
    Developer ID/Name (as registered by you) shows up as 'seller' as I recall - different from the name version attached to the copyright tag. You could use 'kwarp' as seller with 'greg lieberman' after the copyright and at least for this example, use both.

  • Deaf Company applying for Developer Program hitting a snag

    A month ago I applied for the Apple Developer Program.
    I and my partner, we are Deaf, and founded a company. We are developing a visual communication system for sign language users. We, the founders, and the customers are Deaf. We released our visual communication service about three weeks ago. In our multi-language country the sign language community is very excited about our service, because it overcomes language barriers. We also got a note from European Deaf communities because a Deaf in a country might not be able to write the language of another Deaf's country, but they are able to send messages to each other in International Sign Language.
    Of course we want to develop an app for our service on iOS. Therefore we applied for the Apple Developer Program. However we were hit by a snag. It seems to be required that Apple calls back for verification.
    How can you phone a Deaf person?
    I offered alternative communication. Short message service, Skype, Whatsapp, old reliable email, whatever.
    We got an email after a week that our case has been escalated. After another week an email pleading for patience. This has been two weeks ago. Four weeks have passed since the application. And now nobody answers anymore when I send emails or support forms requesting a status update.
    It's like Apple died.
    We want to be treated as everyone else. If phoning is not possible because of a handicap there are other solutions to contact us. It's the same as providing accessibility to buildings and websites. The Apple Developer Program has to provide accessibility like everyone else.
    My partner is very disappointed in Apple. He said, Apple believes that Deaf people are dumb and not able to develop software.
    Apple, what are you up to? How can we register for the Apple Developer Program?

    A sure-fire way to get one's thread deleted here in Apple Support Communities is to leave the technical discussions behind and start attacking people personally. I'm not one to report posts like that when directed at me. I prefer a more orthoganal engagement.
    Do you know how essential phoning is today? Delivery people phone ahead to check if anybody is home. Many forms have phone numbers required. Customs try to phone me to find out what to do with the package. Apple tried to phone us. The CA tried to phone us.
    Actually, no. I haven't had a single business-related phone call in two years at least. Nobody phones anymore. People send e-mails and the luddites still send faxes. Curiously, the vast majority of complaints from non-US developers trying to get business developer accounts stems from Apple's reliance of faxes for international business. They ask "Seriously Apple? Who has a fax machine anymore?" Why didn't you mention anything about a fax? This is the very first time I have heard of a phone call in this context.
    But please imagine: You order a thingamajig on a foreign website. They ask for your tax number. You don't have the right one because you live in a different country. You get a few mails that they escalate and reassign your case. After two weeks this stops. No replies, no mails, nothing.
    After four weeks, boom, you have your thingamajig delivered.
    A developer account is a far cry from a "thingamajig" you order over the internet. It is a financial service where Apple pays you money. And yes. Taxes are involved. You don't live in a different country. Your product will be sold from the United States so you and Apple are responsible for complying with US and international trade, financial, and tax law. It gets complicated real fast. You are doing international business deals and those things simply take a long time.
    And for the record, Apple's support number for people needing accessiblity services is:
    1-877-204-3930
    It works fine when I called it. Please use the correct number. When dealing with things like software development, taxes, money, and the law, details are important.

    I'm not able to enrol in a iOS developer program as individual. My browser says too many redirects. I'm using the Safari Browser. Please let me know how to solve this issue.

    Further to my earlier post, I have just read an entry noting that if you already own a domain name, and ask your hosting service to forward and mask your iWeb '08 created, web.mac.com site to your personal domain, chances are that due to the masking of the site on web.mac.com, Safari browsers interpret the masking as being the end of the site, and as such, just return a blank page?
    This may explain the problem. However, call me old fashioned, and possibly a little naive, but surely this cannot be the problem?? It's OK in Firefox!

  • My company's iOS Developer Program membership expired on Friday.   We renewed that day.   But our app cannot now be downloaded.   Do we need to resubmit?

    If my company's iOS Developer Program membership expired and was renewed on Friday (Nov 1st), do we need to resubmit to Apple.   My customers now cannot download our app.

    You may have waited too long....your apps should resurface once everything is completed on the backend. Could be soon or could be as long as a week, I think. Longer if you are outside the US.
    Next time, renew 2 ~ 4 weeks ahead of expiration

  • Ios Developer Program

    Tried to join IOS Developer program as individual, decided before payment want to change to do as company but now cant go back to change to this option. Even refreshing and relogging in brings me back to payment part of individual program. Please advise how I can rectify this

    One last question!
    If I still go ahead and purchase the iOS Developer program now...can I setup all my details (banking information etc) on a PC?
    I have a mate with a mac so I'll login to his mac but he's away for a few weeks.  Would rather purchase this now on my PC and setup all my details so it's ready to go.
    Is this possible?

  • Individual versus Company listing for Apps

    I noticed that some apps have the developer's actual name and other apps have the company's name listed.  What is the benefit to listing as an individual as opposed to listing as a company?

    When you apply to the Individual Developer Program, you can sign up as a person or as a company - LLC, as an example.
    Not sure it's a 'benefit' based decision so much as a business decision/requirement.
    One of the technical aspects is that a 'person' (single entity, no company) can't assign Team Members in iTunes Connect.
    As for business reasons, those are best put to legal counsel, I believe

  • ANNOUNCEMENT: Adobe Enterprise Developer Program is LIVE!

    I'm happy to announce a brand new developer program targetting individual developers. Benefits include:
    - Developer licenses of all Adobe enterprise software, including Adobe LiveCycle & Adobe Acrobat
    - Unlimited e-mail and web based support for 1 year
    - Access to pre-release software, SDKs and other tools to help make development easier
    - Monthly e-mail newsletter sent out to all members highlighting new content and resources
    Cost: $1495 per year, per developer (not per company)
    This is a different approach than ASN (Adobe Solutions Network) Developer Program, which targets an organization (vs. individual developer)

    I think you misunderstood me. I was not asking where to find it. I was remarking on its magnitude.
    ADEP is essentially what would have been LiveCycle ES 3. Considering we
    have 70+ forums for the current and previous versions of LiveCycle and
    there are new components due to the integration of Day Software it isn't
    really all that much.
    I just hope that dismantling the old LiveCycle forums is going to be
    done a bit more aggressively because there are quite a few LC forums
    that are already attracting more spam than posters.

  • Enterprise developer program

    Hi,
    My boss asked me to locate information on the enterprise developer program, I know that it's a yearly subscription of $299, but does this mean that it's $299 per developer? or can you create a team and it's just subscription per company at $299? This information is not available on the site, or I've been just unable to find it.
    Thanks

    It's one 'account' either way, run by a 'team'.
    A team is one or more users acting in one or more roles.
    From the 'Manage Your Users' FAQ in ITC.
    -=-=-
    *What privileges does each user role have?*
    There are four distinct user roles:
    Admin: This role gives the user access to all iTunes Connect modules. Admin users have the ability to create, delete or modify existing iTunes Connect users. The initial iTunes Connect user is granted both the Admin and Legal roles by default.
    Legal: This role is only available to the initial iTunes Connect user. This role allows the individual to enter into agreements with iTunes via iTunes Connect. The user with this role will be the only user allowed to generate promotional codes.
    Finance: This role gives the user access to Financial Reports and Contracts, Tax and Banking Information, and Sales/Trend Reports modules. This user will also be able to view the Manage Users module, but will only be able to edit their own personal user information.
    Technical: This role gives the user access to Manage your Applications, Manage Your In App Purchases and Manage Users modules. As with the Finance user role, Technical users have limited access to the Manage Users module. They have the ability to view other usersʼ profiles, but will only be able to edit their own personal user information.
