Developer Server 6.0 avail for Digital (Compaq) Unix?

Is Developer Server 6.0 available for Compaq's Tru64 Unix
(formerly known as Digital Unix)? General Availability was
announced for April 12, 1999, but so far we've heard nothing
about this port. If not available, any ideas when?? Also need
to know whether OAS 4.0.7 or 4.0.8 is available for this
platform. Please advise.

Hello,
ODSM has the following dependencies apart from ADF (both components depend also on ADF):
- UIShell (oracle.idm.uishell.war)
- Webcenter Composer (oracle.webcenter.composer.war).
Apparently the composer is missing.
Important points to check when using ODSM with WAS:
- To install and configure Oracle Fusion Middleware with IBM WebSphere, you must first install (but not configure) IBM WebSphere
- You must install the Oracle Application Development Framework as the same user who installed Oracle Unified Directory.
- appdev must be installed under the same ORACLE_HOME as OUD

Terms of use for development server

We produce animated content and would like to use Flash media server for our internal media delivery. I have gone through the TOU document for flash media development server and understood that it is allowed to utilize it in production. So is it allowed to use it for commercial purposes(upto 10 streams) and if so should we worry about the warranty and bugs etc. ?

The Flash media server development server is fully functional (except for the quantitative restrictions like max limit of number of connections to 10 etc), and is equivalent in quality to all other flavors.
The developement server is generally meant for developmental and testing purposes though i think within the limit of connections etc, there should not be any problem with its usage. you can cross check/confirm from the EULA always, when in doubt.

Can't change sample rate for digital input on Mac Pro

Hello all,
on my Mac Pro with 10.4.10 I can't change the sample rate for the digital input. Whenever I choose 48000 or 96000 Hz it returns to 44100 Hz after a few seconds. Feeding a 24 bit/96000 Hz signal from an external ADC into the optical input doesn't help. No input signal is available for digital recording software such as Sound Studio or Cubase. After changing the sample rate in audio midi configuration to 96000 Hz the sound can be heard for a few seconds but when the setup returns to 44100 automatically the signal is, of course, lost.
I've deleted all relevant preferences and restarted with resetting paramter RAM. Still the same. With external hardware such as M-Audio Firewire equipment setting the sample rates works properly.

when E&M signaling is configured on digital interface like the VWIC is, 2 or 4 wires operation is not applicable because there are no wires at all, and reported only for compatibility with the analog E&M card.
Consequently, you cannot configure that and it will not make any difference to effect of the connection.

Developer Server and Oracle 7.3

Need to know if an Oracle 7.3, Developer 2.1 and Developer
Server configuration is reasonable for putting forms/reports on
the web, or if we should go to Oracle 8i. Are there any unusual

We have developed several form apps using the products in
question. We have experianced minor GUI problems but many of
these had patches. You can check by going to: ftp://oracle-
ftp.oracle.com/dev_tools/patchsets/dev2k/Win95NT/2.1/
I never experianced the scroll-bar problem the first response
talks about, not saying it isn't possible. Possibly a different
database platform.
All in all we have had good luck with the applications, little
bit of a setup learning curve, but once we were up and running
we produced some very effective web applications.

Transportation error in BW Development Server

HI BW Experts,
 We have created one Infocube in BW Development server which is customized and we used PC Files (FLAT FILE) as Source System.
 While we are trying to transport the Infocube from Development Server to BW Production Server the data source is not there in OBJECT TYPE.
 I searched in 3x Data sources in Transport connection but i did not find my data source which i created in Development Server.
 So i found only Infocube and Infosource. I didnot find Data source and Transfer rules in the Transport Connection which i have created.
 And i checked in Production Server , we have source system mapping is there but names are different( I think its not a problem).
 I got only Infocube and Infosource in Production Server but did not get Data source and Transfer Structure in the Production Server.
 The main problem is , in development server we dont find the Particular data source and Transfer structure which i have created in Development Server.
 Kindly help for the further process.

I checked in Source system. But there is no FLAT FILES. In place of FLAT FILES iam getting CRDCLNT300 ( This is our CRM Development Server Source System).
The both statements are mutually different to each other. If you have Flat file source system and if you have Transferrules from flat file to your cube, then create one more transport request by taking tick mark for Flat file source system in transport connector tool. And take TRules with data flow before in that request.

Bottom line is 'yes'.
If you go to http://otn.oracle.com and click on the Download link/tab at the top of the page, you will find links to nearly all of Oracle software.
The software you can download is exactly the same as used by Oracle customers in production. No limitations or time bombs. There are 2 catches:
1) You do not get patches unless you have a support agreement, since Oracle normally does not upload newer or patched versions onto their download site;
2) You agree to a specific license just before the download, and Oracle provides about 5 different licenses.
Most of the download licenses state that you agree not to use the software in production, but you can use it as long as you want for evaluation - and I consider learning as part of evaluation.
Oracle's objective with the license seems to be:
"Take the software for free, but if you earn or save money from the software, share that money (up front) with Oracle."

It shoud not took 3 hours. Normally, you expect wait for 1 -2 minutes.
For your case, I suggest to
(1)run the cleanWF.cmd script then shutdown the server
(2)restart the server
(3) run cleanWF again
(4) run the sample.

My question was meant to determine whether you had any CPU licenses. In retrospect, it doesn't matter.
You cannot use your Production licenses on your Dev system without violating your contractual obligations with SAP. i.e. both system cannot run in parallel using the same license keys.
You might be able to use the quarterly Test licenses that SAP makes available without violating your contract. I am uncertain of the terms of the test licenses.
You should probably talk to your Account Manager on this.

Is it possible to retrieve the existing transport request in development which is not moved to quality ?
Like how we retrieving the programs using versions in development server, In the same way I want to retrieve the sapscript layout in development server ?

Hi,
There is no version management for SapScript or Smartforms .
When you write "transport request in development which is not moved to quality" - was the transport ever released and exported from the development system? If yes, and if the "Transport files" are still available in "Transport directory" (or if the transport files were backed up and could be retrieved), the transport could be imported again. If the TR was not exported, you are out of luck, I believe...
I would not recommend you do it on your own even if you happen to have enough authorizations (consult with Basis and/or Transport Admin, if you have one in your organization). I would not recommend that it's imported on a development system or QA system, even if the transport contains no other objects - only the SapScript form in question. Import it on a "sand-box" that gets overwritten by system copy from time to time... Once the transport is imported, you should have the old version of SapScript in that system and could analyse the changes and perform manual merge.

License for BOE XI R2 development server

We have a BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R2 RTM server in production and want to upgrade the hardware. As a part of this project, we will also update the software to SP4.
As we intend to fully test the new installation, we want to run a production server in parallel with a development server for a period of a month or two. How should this solution be licensed? Do we need to request a development license on the SAP Support Portal or can we use the production license on both servers?
N.B. We would not be prepared to pay for a development license.
Any help you are able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

jTurbo provides jdbc driver for MS SQL Server (www.jTurbo.com).
Merant technologies also provides jdbc driver for MS SQL Server. Find more details at http://www.microsoft.com/sql/downloads/2000/jdbc.asp.Microsoft licenses MERANT's JDBC driver for SQL Server 2000.
I cannot comment which one is the best driver. It depends on your project requirements and the buget alloted.
