Developer Studio 7.2 in CE 7.2 Trial -- Java Web dynpro screens very differ

Hi there
Anybody got a good tutorial on creating a simple Java Web dynpro using the supplied rel 7.2 (note please NOT 7.1)  release of the Developer studio that comes with CE 7.2 trial.
Even following the supplied tutorial the screens are DIFFERENT - the tutorial seems to be more like the screens from the 7.1 Version.
For instabce you don't get any Root UIElement container(transparent container) witha default Textview and the WINDOWS seem to be inconsistent with what the tutorial says -- the screens have a lot more functionality -- which might be good but doesn't help when trying to follow the tutorial from the WELCOME home page.
I suspect that the tutorial was developed on the earlier release and hasn't been fully tested on rel 7.2
Cheers
jimbo

  • Help With Netweaver Developer Studio Version

    Hi everyone I have a problem, I am doing some examples to programmer Web dynpro using netweaver developer studio, How can I know what is my Netweaver Developer Studio version? Because I have a trial version and I dont know if my version is compatible to doing some examples, for example I found this link
    Web Dynpro Java Tutorials and Samples NW 2004
    and I wanna doing the example "Using EJBs in Web Dynpro" and when I open this document it starts with SAP netweaver 04 and I don't know if my trial version is compatible with this example.
    Thanks

    Israel,
    Open your NWDS, go to Help/About.
    Most likely you will see something like:
    Version: 7.0.11
    If version is 7.0.X, your NWDS is NetWeaver 7.0, formerly known as NetWeaver 2004s.
    Most likely there will be no problem running examples from NW 2004, earlier version.
    Just make sure your JDK you have on your dev computer has similar version as JDK on the target server, if you are building locally and deploying your application to another server.
    Post if you have a different version.
    We will guess what NW version it belongs to.

  • Netweave Developer Studio 7.0 Vs Netweaver Developer studio 7.1

    Hi all
    Can anyone tell me the difference between Netweave Developer Studio 7.0 and Netweaver Developer studio 7.1?
    are there any documents for the same?
    Regards,
    Sheetal

    Hi,
    Three main parts are added to NW 7.1 surrounded business process platform: Composition Environment (CE), Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) and NetWeaver Process Integration (PI).
    Composite applications (composites) are functioning service-enabled interfaces to existing backend systems. NW 7.1 is coming with tools to develop, run, and manage composite applications using SAP's enterprise SOA. This is based on enhanced technologies like:
    SAP NetWeaver Application Server for Java
    Web Dynpro
    SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio for service creation and provisioning
    Service Registry and repository for service management
    Guided Procedures for process modeling
    SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer for UI modeling
    SAP Composite Application Framework for Java business object modeling and service abstraction
    Enterprise Services Repository is SAPu2019s web services repository.
    NetWeaver Process Integration (NWPI) is next generation of SAP Exchange infrastructure (XI) kind of integration hub; handling integration between SAP/non-SAP applications

  • Generate web service with complexType +sequence with NW Developer Studio

    Hello Sap guru
    I have the following problem with NW04s/SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0.14
    I wish to create a web service from an existing EJB (stateless session)
    If I send a list of String, everything is OK
    If I wish to return a List of classes instead of strings (same function in the Bean, just a small refinement), I get an empty answer from the deployed web service
    After looking in the forum, it seems that I should not send a List but a class that encapsulate the list in my EJB.
    Even if I make the classes serializable, it does not works (i.e. I get an empty answer when I call the service).
    The VI wizard finds my function but I did not found any way to tell the IDE how is made my objects inserted in the list.
    1)     Have I forgotten something in the building of the VI (or somewhere else)
    2)     Am I using the right way to build a web service? Should I make a WSDL and XSD and creating the required java classes. In this case how can I import the wsdl/xsd in developer studio ? Can I generate a VI form these files ??
    3)     Is there an example that shows what I am trying to do. There must be one but I could not find any

    It is now working
    Regenerating everything form scratch made the stuff working
    From my experience:
    - the function you call in the web service should be available in remote and local interface
    - ArrayList or [] both works. The classes returned inside the List should implement Serializable
    - you do not have anything to change in the VI or any SAP file

    I read this:

    Hi Tilo,
    I am glad that your question was answered. Unfortunately this is not the right forum to ask those kinds of questions.
    take a look at the description of this forum:
    <u><b>This forum is for the exchange of suggestions and improvement ideas regarding the SAP Developer Network. If it is an SDN system bug please report it by selecting Contribute -> Feedback in the top right navigation.</b></u>
    Please post questions like yours in one of the sap netweaver forums, thanks.
    If you have a suggestion instead of question post it here.

  • Issue about SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio download!

    Hi, all
    as mentioned in the topic , where can i get the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio installer  package.
    coz currently, i am studying Adobe interactive form.
    thanks very much!

    David,
    You will need a Markeplace id to access the downloads section as mentioned by Arafat.
    Ask your Basis guy to create one for you and then goto following path to download the NWDS:-
    http://service.sap.com/swdc
    --> Click on downloads
    --> Support Packages and Patches
    --> SAP NetWeaver
    --> SAP NETWEAVER
    --> SAP NETWEAVER 7.0
    --> Entry by Component
    -->  Developer Studio
    As far as I know there is no trial version NWDS but you can download complete NetWeaver 7.0 release from [here |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60d6c8b7-5d8f-2910-31bf-ebdf74fefd8b] which contains the NWDS.

  • Web dynpro developement works with SAPGUI?

    Hi,
    I am a developer working most of my time in 4.6C. Recently i started to upgrade myself. I have studied about web dynpro and came to know that All of business suite developement is done in Web dynpro, be it java or abap.
    My question here is once a web dynpro is developed independent of whether it is developed in ABAP or JAVA, will work in all defferent forms of ui : sapgui, webgui, etc?
    Put in other words, does business suite developed in web dynpro be accessable via a normal SAPgui?

    This is where the NetWeaver Business Client has its best use case - when combining legacy SAPGUI transactions with newer Web Dynrpo ones.  Like the portal, the two types of transactions are ran within the same navigation frame.  However because the NWBC is a desktop application, the technical integration of the SAPGUI is much more efficient.  You get easy navigation between SAPGUI and Web Dynpro screens.

  • Error deploying PAR file from Developer Studio (NW04)

    Hello,
    i've got a problem while trying to deploy a PAR file from NW Developer Studio.
    The PAR Export function says
    "Unable to connect to the Portal",
    the portal itself gives the following response:
    "ERROR: Upload failed - exception caught: com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Invalid content type submitted - no multipart data"
    Deploying the PAR file manually using the Administration Console (system administration tab) of the portal works fine, but why doesn't the PAR Export function of NWDS?
    Thanks in advance for any help!
    Regards,
    Jörg

    Hi Jörg,
    as a general advise, use the NWDS version corresponding to the Servers version, so in this case, upgrade (or better: install new) NWDS 2.0.14. The main reason is WebDynpro compatibility, but the deploy mechanism may need this too.
    At least, give it a try and report if you have success (or not).
    Hope it helps

    Hi,
    you could change the connection settings to the server in the preference page in the Developer Studio. Check <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/0cf28fb4d01f23e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm">this</a> page in the documentation for details.
    In your case, you can also use the host name of your laptop, or even just localhost, in the Message Server Host field in the preferences page. This should overcome the problem with dynamic IPs.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi
    If you have zip file of the project then unzip it into your project  location where all projects are there .then in NWDS go to file->import->multiple existing project into workspace->browse the file where you have saved it and select the comp folder inside the project folder->click finish.Now you are able to see the webdynpro project in the webdynpro explorer.If its not appearing then go to Navigatore and right click on project and click on open project, it will open the project in webDynpro explorer.
