Developer Studio Service Pack 11

I will need to upgrade the Developers Studio and I see 2 different files; support pack 11 and the patch for support pack 11.  Each of these files are 550MB.  Do each of these files contain the whole installation program?  Meaning, I only have to download the patch file as opposed to SP11 and the associated patch file.  This would entail downloading a total of 1.1GB worth of data.  Seeing as service.sap.com does not have fast download speed, this could take a week.

HI,
You can very well down load NWDS directly from http://service.sap.com/downloads ,in case if you have NWDS versiom 2.0.9 no problem once if you stall 2.0.11 version automatically your studio will upgrade, downloading NWDS 2.0.11 won't take much time, make sure you have User ID and Password to loginto http://service.sap.com/downloads.
Hope this solves your Problem!

  • Crystal Reports for Visual Studio Service Pack 1 didn't fix my issue

I have been working for some time on a web application project which is using Crystal Reports for some of its reporting features. I installed Service Pack 1 on the server but it failed to resolve the following issue:
    ADAPT00638965
Description: Using the Crystal Report Webform Viewer to search for a string that exists on the current page of a report does not return the correct result.
I installed the same service pack on my development machine and it DID fix the problem. I cannot understand the reason why. I was oping someone may have had experience with this and may know why it isn't working or, more importantly, how to fix it. Please help!

Not a problem. Essentially, we have two choices since it looks like the SP you ran on the server did not update the runtime. So, we can determine the dlls that are different by using the modules utility and replace the old dlls (not my prefered way) or create a new deployment project using the patched merge modules (way prefered). Since you are using CR 9.1(?) that bundles with .NET 2003, the application was deployed to the server. Somehow, the correct CR runtime had to also have been deployed. Since CR 9.1 does not have an MSI file, you have to create your own deployment project (either an setup.exe or an MSI) using the CR 9.1 merge modules. All of this assumes that your development computer and the web server do indeed have the same application (version and all. e.g.; if the app on the server uses CR 10, the patch for CR 9.1 will do nothing for you). The merge modules for CR 9.1 can be downloaded from here:

  • XI, Service Packs and Visual Studio 2008

    Hi
Sorry if these questions have already been answered but I have tried to search and get the answers myself with lots of link following and frustration.
We are developing a Windows forms application using Visual Studio 2008.
We need a good solid report tool for both designing and viewing reports based on SQL data.
Due to past exposure to Crystal, we have decided to use a Developer Edition of Crystal Reports XI we have had for a long time (think it was a promotional offering when XI was first released).
    The Help-About version is 11.0.0.1282
I have a couple of questions:
    1. What service packs can I apply to this build ? Looking on the download section of this web site, there are no updates available for XI (there are plenty for XI R1 and XI R2). Can I apply the R1/R2 updates to this build, if not can I upgrade to any of these builds ?
    2. I have noticed that even when installed after VS2008, the Crystal Version of the Viewer is still 10.5.0.0
I can created reports in XI and use them with this viewer but can I get a XI build of the viewer and other .NET objects. If not what are the options (apart from upgrading to 2008, this is price restrictive).
If there are already answers or knowledge-base articles containing the answers to these questions please just post the links, if not then some help would be appreciated as this whole thing is really confusing and I really don't want to go back to trying to use the Microsoft Reports package shipping with VS2008.
    Many thanks

    HI,
    First of all:
If you are planning to use VS2008 then you need to use CR 2008 SP0 or above to make it compatible.
    1. What service packs can I apply to this build ? Looking on the download section of this web site, there are no updates available for XI (there are plenty for XI R1 and XI R2). Can I apply the R1/R2 updates to this build, if not can I upgrade to any of these builds ?
Officially CRXI has reached the end of life cycle.
Upgrade from CRXI R1 to R2 is free. You need to download the CRXIR2 sp2 setup and install the complete product alogn with SP2 using the CRXIR1 keycode.
As stated you need to either use CR that comes with VS2008 or use CR2008 with SP0 or above. That is why you are unable to see the upgraded viewer. The other options would be to use VS2003 with CRXI and above or use VS2005 and CRXIR2 sp2 and above.

  • Generate web service with complexType +sequence with NW Developer Studio

    Hello Sap guru
I have the following problem with NW04s/SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0.14
I wish to create a web service from an existing EJB (stateless session)
If I send a list of String, everything is OK
If I wish to return a List of classes instead of strings (same function in the Bean, just a small refinement), I get an empty answer from the deployed web service
After looking in the forum, it seems that I should not send a List but a class that encapsulate the list in my EJB.
Even if I make the classes serializable, it does not works (i.e. I get an empty answer when I call the service).
The VI wizard finds my function but I did not found any way to tell the IDE how is made my objects inserted in the list.
    1)     Have I forgotten something in the building of the VI (or somewhere else)
    2)     Am I using the right way to build a web service? Should I make a WSDL and XSD and creating the required java classes. In this case how can I import the wsdl/xsd in developer studio ? Can I generate a VI form these files ??
    3)     Is there an example that shows what I am trying to do. There must be one but I could not find any

    It is now working
Regenerating everything form scratch made the stuff working
    From my experience:
    - the function you call in the web service should be available in remote and local interface
    - ArrayList or [] both works. The classes returned inside the List should implement Serializable
    - you do not have anything to change in the VI or any SAP file

  • Standalone Proxies for Web Services : Developer Studio 7.0.12 & SAP PI7.1

    Dear Experts,
We are trying to consume SAP PI 7.1 WebServices using an EAR deployed on SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
Unfortunately, we face the following issue using the WebService plugin of Developer Studio (based on SP12).
The idea consists of generating a standalone proxy we can reuse as library in our EAR (we haven't tried the deployed proxy yet) but the generated code looks wrong. No issue neither during build nor during deployment but an HTTP 500 during the execution of the proxy. Actually, the stub inherits from the JAXR stub trying to execute an _init method which doesn't exist (according to the error message).
It looks like having a generated code which doesn't fit with the NetWeaver Developer Studio librairies. Did someone face this issue in the past? How can we solve it or could someone tell me the version of the JAXR library we must use with the standalone proxy generated with this NetWeaver Studio version? Are my assumptions wrong?
Thanks for your help and Best Regards,

  • Error opening JSP files in Netweaver Developer Studio

    Hello,
When I try to open a *.jsp file in the Netweaver Developer Studio, I get the following error:
The ordinal 233 could not be located in the dynamic link library SHDOCVW.dll
When I click on OK for a couple of times (same message), I get the option to open the file.
    Then this message:
Invalid or corrup jar file (with a reference to the jsp).
I can however open files with java extensions. It is also not project related, all jsp files react in the same way.
I am currently investigating what MS Windows service packs have been installed recently.
Does anyone know what it means or how this can be solved?

  • Merge modules for Business Objects XI service pack 4

I am in the process of developing a deployment package in Installshield 2009 - Basic MSI Project.  I tried adding the merge modules I downloaded earlier from the web page, http://support.businessobjects.com/downloads/runtime.asp
Currently I do not see this web page.  It would be nice if you could tell me whether do we have a merge module for Crystal Reports XI service pack 4.  If we have where from i can download them.  Thank you

Thanks a lot for the immediate response.  However, I am not using the crystal reports Version, R2 release.
I had actually installed Business Object XI and applied service pack 4 on it.  I checked the version in Help->About. It is 11.0.0.
Also my environment is XP Sp2, Visual studio 2003 and Visual studio 6.0.  I understand that R2 release is needed if the environment is Visual Studio 2005.
I would like to give a clear picture of the issue I work through.
After deploying the software in the client machine, I came to know that  when client tried to print the embedded crystal report (.dsr file) from CrViewer,
    1. Page set-up dialog bog gets displayed.
    2. After clicking 'OK' button in the page set-up dialog box, nothing happens.  It is suppose to bring print dialog.
I simulated this in my development machine (confirmed that Print dialog is is not getting displayed when 'OK' button is clicked from 'Page setup' dialog)
I researched and found out from some web page that if Business Objects XI is updated to Service pack 4, this issue gets resolved
So i applied service pack 4 in my dev. machine and tested the functionality by clicking 'OK' button.  This issue is no more.
Next logical step is to propagate the sp4 changes to the installer.  I searched for the merge modules corresponding to Business Objects XI - service pack 4.  I could not locate it now.
I searched my backup folder,  I located some previously downloaded merge modules downloaded from  the web page, http://support.businessobjects.com/downloads/runtime.asp
I tried to include these merge modules and received an error message "Internal build error" .  My research revealed that inclusion of the merge module,  CrystalReports11_RDC_Reportengine.msm  (43,306 Kb, 7/4/2007) throws "Internal build error"  during compilation of MSI project in Installshield 2009.
Any idea, tips and help to resolve the issue would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Download of SAP Netweaver Developer studio

    Hi,
I want to download SAP Netweaver developer studio.
I searched on service.sap.com where I could find some support packages but not any installable.
Where will I find the full installable(exe)
Can I install SAP netweaver developer studio using these support packages. How do I install using the support packages.
We have SAP MI 2.5 SP09 installed on our system. Which service pack of SAP Netweaver developer studio should I install.
    Regards
    Raja Sekhar

    hi Raja,
There are already some posts in WebAS general on how to upgrade your WebAS. kindly search for them. As far as i know there are no documentation available for upgradation.
At the max, it should take only 10-14 hours to upgrade.
The upgradation goes like this :-
    *. Stop the server
    1. Kernal Patch - after this start the server.
    2. SPAM Patch - Transaction code SPAM in client 000 user DDIC.
    3. ABAP Patch - Transaction code SAPM in client 000 user DDIC.
    4. J2EE Patch - A Installable like SAPinst.exe file
You can jump from sp09 to sp14 for J2EE stack right away.
But for ABAP patches, you should go step by step. ie. you have to add patches 09,10,11,12,13,14 - all of it can be found from Service.sap.com/swdc. you may do it at one go - by putting them in a queue in SAPM and let the system do it one by one. The same procedure for SPAM Patches (level 19) - yours will be in level 17.
Kernel patch is just copy pasting the files into its directory. it will get over in no time.
    Regards
    Arun.
