  • Oracle Developer Suite 11g support 64bit development?

Is Oracle Developer Suite 11g going to support 64bit development? I have read the Statement of Direction and do not see any mention of supporting 64bit development. I can only find that the Oracle Database 11g will have a 64bit edition/version.

Can you confirm this? I'm running 32-bit DevSuite with Form Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on Windows 64 bit and, while it works for most things, trying to open the layout editor seems to crash the application 50% of the time. Is there any special configuration required, or could this be a problem with running on a dual-core processor?

    Hi,
Developer Suite 11g does not exist as it was for 10gR2/10gR1 but you can create your own Report Developer 11g environment.
There are some good notes about this.

    Forms/Reports Builders in Version 11g - Release 1 and 2 (Doc ID 1067763.1)
Availability of Oracle Forms/Reports Builders Version 11g R1 (11.1.1.x) on 64 bit Platforms. (Doc ID 1108940.1)
The new 11gR2 supports Builders on 64 bits OS and you can download it from the following link.

Its sounds like a mismatch of software. Is it possible you are using a version that is different even by one number?
The document I provided was one I wrote so I could do it again.
Any chance you used the wrong WebLogic ? Needs to be wls1032_generic
    Did the Weblogic install work?
Is it possible the path to the JAVA_HOME is incorrect?
I know it worked for me is a bad answer. But you can see at the end I was able to start the forms devs.
Can you tell me anything about the hardware OS and memory?
I can compare against me test workstation.
Also consider marking this closed if you will.

  • Running programs made with Developer Suite 10g or 11g

    Hi everyone,
I have created a few programs with Forms Developer Suite 10g, but I don't know how to make the users run the application so they can start using the programs. Can anyone please help me on this?
I have always use Forms 6i which is completely different, but I don't know how to make this version work.

I have always use Forms 6i which is completely different, but I don't know how to make this version work. Oracle Forms 6i was the last version of Forms to run in Client/Server mode. Forms 9i and newer are "Web" only, meaning, you must have a web server configured to serve your Forms web application to client computers. Your web server must have Oracle Application Server 10g installed and configured correctly for your Forms application.
I recommend you take a look at the <a href ="http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B14099_11/index.htm">Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 Documentation Library</a>. Start with the Server Concepts document.
    Hope this helps,

  • SOA Suite 11g Coding Best Practice Document

    Hello,
I am looking for coding best practice dosument for SOA suite 11g. I have seen one document for "soa_best_practices_1013x_drop3" but this was for SOA 10g. I could not find any such document for SOA 11g. Please let me know if some one has document for best practice, coding standard, naming convention for BPEL,OSB,B2B etc.

Now we need to publish our services on the internet. I am looking for the security mechanism that I should apply in order to make the services secure. I may even like to verify that the request invoking service A is only coming from specified context. One approach we followed at a customer :
    - SOA was installed within internal firewall zone
    - A F5 BigIP Load Balancer was setup in DMZ. This load balancer terminated one way SSL connections coming from service consumers over internet. The load balancer forwaded the request to a pool of apache of web servers within DMZ
    - The Apache web servers had a redirection rule which forwarded the request to the soa server ports within the internal firwall zone. The internal firewall was opened to allow connections between apache web servers and soa server ports.
    - WS Security Username token/plain text password was used for message level security at the soa services layer.
Some alterations you can do :
    1. enforce 2 way ssl and make load balancer to validate the CN of the client certificate. This can make sure only authorized clients are to make calls to the service
    2. OR setup some sort of IP filtering at DMZ firewall i.e. allow traffic only from authorized clients IP addresses to the load balancers virtual address for this specific service.

  • What is the right tools to migrate from developer suite 10g to 11g?

    Hi all..
Im kinda new here and hope pro can help me in the right direction. I've been developing forms and reports in 10g which is using the developer suite. My company would like to migrate to 11g. However, i see that there are no 11g developer suite. it must have rename it something else or provided to developer in a different name or so.
Could someone clarify this and give me a link to what i need to develop forms and reports in 11g. Im sure im going to need the weblogic as well.
I did find a post where user states that there is no more developer suite in 11g but i find his answer a bit unclear. So i was hoping someone can give a link to what i really need in order to continue with 11g.
    Thanks

In brief a migration from 10g to 11g is just a recompile, nothing more. There were some built-ins removed in 11g which were deprecated in 10g (like run_product for example) so if you have some dead code containing this built-ins you will get compile errors. But as those built-ins didn't do anything in 10g you should be able to remove them without a second thought.
As for developer suite: there is no developer suite anymore like there was in 10g; There is only one complete bundle containing the development as well as the deployment components, and you can choose at installation time which components you want to install. You can install the IDEs and omit some of the components you won't need in 11gR1 or install the development version in 11gR2.
You can find the install bundles here.
Before you start installing it is a good idea to review the certified system configurations.
    cheers

  • OSB Development in 11g 11.1.1.3 / Oracle SOA Suite Installation (11.1.1.3)

    Hello,
Is the latest OSB available as SCA Component in Jdeveloper ? If we want to develop services in OSB, should we use the browser or we have eclipse support for the latest release.
Looks like now we can use the same version of weblogic server 10.3.3 to host both SOA suite 11g 11.1.1.3 and Oracle Service Bus 11.1.1.3. I believe we need two different domains (1 for SOA Suite and another for Oracle Service Bus).
    Kindly confirm.

    Hello Kalyan,
    A couple questions:
    1. Once you installed the 11G database, you did start the database services, yes?
    2. Do you have a properly configured TNSNAMES.ORA file that points to your database?
    3. You created a database that you are using and can access the database via SQLPlus?
    Don.
