Developing Photoshop Plug In Using Flash and Pixel Bender

Hello.
Is there a way to build a Plug In for Photoshop using the Flash (GUI) + Action Script (Auxiliary Functions) + Photoshop Script (Photoshop Built In Capabilities) + Pixel Bender?
Are there tutorials I can start from?

Developing ios/android game using flash and action script

I'm completely new to this, I have done a bit of research about using flash to create ios/android apps, but one thing really confuses me is,
should I create my game in flash lite or in air? I know swf format will not be supported, so i will leave that one out...
If using air format you need to install the air application in your iphone or andriod devices before the game can be played?
Is it possible not to use air for apps development using flash?
Since it is somehow non-user friendly as users were prompt to download and extra application before any game can be played...

You want to use AIR not FlashLite - for iOS the end user doesn't need to install the AIR runtime, on Android they will however. But it's painless...
You don't need AIR for apps in Flash, but you do need to publish using AIR if going to iOS or Android.
Be sure to get AIR 2.7 and copy it over 2.6 - CS 5.5 installs with 2.6 which runs much slower on iOS, than does 2.7

When we double click on the index.app file, the application is working perfectly in Mac 10.6.7 at our office. But if the same index.app file is double clicked in Mac 10.6.7 at out clients location, its not opening. For your information the client is able to open this same application by double clicking on index.swf file. The main problem is that client is not able to open the application using index.app file at their office whereas we are able to do so at our office. Can anyone give some suggestions to sort this problem?

The most common reason is different versions of Flash, or different versions of web browsers used. Some users may elect to not have Flash installed at all because of the processor overhead of Flash. If you are going to make an application for a client, check what operating system and browser versions they are using first. Then determine if a stand alone application is required, or if they have the necessary plugins to run specific browser enhanced code.
P.S. MAC is an acronym for Media Access Control. Mac is the shorthand for Macintosh, the operating system and computers made by Apple Inc.

Where is the Apple problem? I have CS4 and CS5 running perfectly fine on my Macbook Pro. Installed 5 after Lion upgrade. Worth every cent. Adobe did have some catching up to do with Lion but with the CS5.5 update all runs fine. But not yours. So it is a problem with the Lion OS? You say you have been with Adobe since 2005. So you would be aware of all the other issues that Adobe had catching up with past Oss in Mac and Windows then. They get it right, but it is up to them. It is not up to Apple, nor Microsoft for that matter, to run around and check that every software developer in the world is running their business properly.
And what has politics got to do with anything. Some people just have to blame Software for their poor Hardware maintainence of failure of the same.

Using Flash and HTML with Sound

Hi All,
I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to Flash and want to
start using it a bit more but I'm in 2 minds as to which way to
build my site.
I would love to have the functionality still of html and
place the odd bits of Flash in on the site or just create a flash
site but place each page into a seperate html page but there are
issues with the sound. I want ongoing music to be playing but the
tutorials I have looked at seem to lead to a stop start problem
when the visitor clicks from page to page. I want to make it a
search engine friendly as possible which is why one of my options
is to put build seperate html pages for my Flash instead of having
just one.
There may be some coding issues with a couple of pages that
link into databases and I would have to link these pages to pure
html pages for functionality purposes but this would need to be
done either way.
Can anyone advise which way I should go with this and if
there is a solution to the stop, start sound issues with loading
individual pages.
Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated.

Capture image with webcam using flash and sending it to the server

I have a need to use flash to capture an image and have that image uploaded to the server. I have seen some examples of code that uses flash to capture an image but it saves the file locally. We need that file to be sent to the server. We are using CF9.0 and I figure that once we are able to capture the image we could hand it off to ColdFusion to send to the server.
Has anyone done anything like that or know if it's possible?
Any help is apprecaited.

It's not that hard...after you capture the image in Flash encode just send it via Remoting to a cfc as a bytearray or a bytearray encoded as Base64 string (and then decode it to binary in the CFC). I have had better luck with the latter way. You could also post the bytearray encoded as a Base64 string to a .cfm page as a form field.
For example in Action Script 3 you do something like this (assuming "frameBMD" is the BitmapData drawn from the video source):

I'm a bit of a newbie with flash and Actionscript. I have been programming for a number of years now, but I have only been messing around with flash since CS4. I have CS5 now, and need a bit of help. I have a wireless device that I have made, I wish to make a flash program (potentially adapted to iPhone or Android) that sends and receives data (in the form of Word or Byte sized variables) from an IP address assigned to the device. Is this achievable?

What you should do is search Google for things like "Flash slideshow tutorial" or if you know what version of actionscript you want to use, try using that in place of "Flash" in the search terms.

Unpredicted image distortion and Pixel Bender support

Hi!
I'm running my very simple Pixel Bender filter that replaces colors around the image (inverts pixels). Running on various graphic cards I got sometimes unpredictable results (FP10, Flash), when running this filter on a big number of images (image sizes are 1000x200 pixels).
Images got distorted - the example is included.
I can't find the exact case when it happens, but I think it may somehow connected with GPU drivers. Sometimes I got a correct image, and sometimes not on the same graphic card.
Is there a way to force a filter to use CPU instead of GPU? And is there a function in Flex to detect if the Pixel Bender is supported on a current graphic card and turn it off?

Sorry, I was a bit wrong describing what's happening. I'm running an AIR application (on Windows).
I'm running a filter on BitmapData with applyFilter (checking if it is not null, before the run). The image size is about 1000x200 or 2000x200. There are about 300 images which are processed in a loop. Here's a piece of my code:

Some times people running my application experience the unpredicted images distortions I have shown above. The configurations range from desktop computers to notebooks , and the above behaviour is random, still cannot find the exact case.
Is there a way in AIR to find if Pixel Bender uses GPU or CPU and force it to switch?

Layering and Pixel Bending

I would love some help on picking the photoshop that has the easiest layering process. Also, I was very excited to see Pixel Bending on the internet, but discovered it is no longer available. Is there anything remotely like that available to Photoshop users now?

That's way too generic a question. I strongly suggest you watch a few tutorials on specific techniques relevant to you and then make up your mind. Pixel Bender was a GPU accelerated processing architecture, whose bits and pieces exist natively these days in many Adobe applications.

When i create my new flex project in flash builder 4 i am getting this error

Need to use a scrollable resultset and depending on the need to have a stateful connection or a stateless connection you may need to query the table for every request(for stateless connection) and use the same result set for(stateful connection). and depending on the no of records in a page and the page no do some simple arithmetic and move the resultset. Hope this helps.
