Hi,
I have Configured some settings,Integrated R/3 System and developed some portal components in the Development SAP EP Server.
Now i want to know shud i do all these things once gain in the Production Server.....Not Obviously right
Then what is the procedure and how actually i can acieve my goal

Hi!
Welcome on SDN.
There might be a problem with the spooler configuration, or the spooler capacity is too small. Check it out in SPAD transaction or ask someone from the basis.
You might check the user name as well. If the job is scheduled by user XY, then the spool request will be uner XY's name.

I want to know the role of ESR in development, test, and production system. Do I have to install ESR in every seprate installated SAP CE machine??? or should It be centrally and development., test and production systems can use it?? Does software release process effects in the whole landscape??
does Test and Production system requires ESR??? or all used services are embed into released software SCA files to test and production system???

Hey,
as far as I understood the ESR is a design time tool, i think you don't need to have a productive instance.
I think it should be installed on your PI systems. And I would prefer to have at least a devel and a test installation, to
separate services on test machines from those who are running on productive systems.
as you can't differentiate the services by their name but just by their systems, you should have separate ESR Instances.
Nevertheless I think it could be possible to run only one ESR....

License for testing and production systems

Hi Experts
Can any one help me out on implementing license in my B1 System.
According to our contract we have licensed following user types:
User Type
Licensed
AddOn Access License 25
Professional User 5
Software Development Kit - Development Version 20
We have Test/development system in one hardware and Production system on different hardware. Please advice me how to request/allocate license for my test/development system and production system.
We tried creating a Test System in SAP Market place and requested license for test system. While requesting license for production system, it is found that the license is exceeded. In other words, developent system license also counted.
Please advice me on the best practices of B1 license implementation.

Hi,
Our customer wants to Keep the production data secure. Developers and consultants should not have the access to it.
Then you have only two options:
1.Either you should maintain a standalone b1 server for the developers and consultants to test their solutions and scenarios.
2.Otherwise you can create users in sql studio for accessing only the test database.
So that as per your requirement
All configurations and sample data will be kept in a test environment where developers and consultants can do their work.Once everything is correct Admin will do the transfer to production.
Note:New users can be created in the sql studio under Databases-><Company Db>->Security->Users, Rt.click new user

How to populate SNDPRN with different values in Development and Production?

Hello experts,
I have to fill the field SNDPRN in the message mapping with a different value in Development and in Production. As I am new to PI, I used a simple solution - but it is rather ugly: I set a constant value in the mapping in development and a different one in Production. However, I would like to know if there is any solution to have a condition in the mapping like:
IF system is Development, set SNDPRN as Constant1.
IF system is Production, set SNDPRN as Constant2.
(And eventually IF system is Test, set SNDPRN as Constant3)

Hi Luis,
      You can go with the parameterized mapping , where you can provide different values for SNDPRN in interface determination for development and production.
      At point of time if you want to change the values it requires only a change in the configuration.

Transport ALE Configuration from Development to Production System

Hello All,
We have created ALE-IDOC scenario in the development system and its working fine. Now we want to transport it to the Production / Quality system. How can we transport the settings like logical systems, port definition, partner profiles, distribution model , RFC destinations from one system to another system??
Because the client numbers are different for development , quality and production systems.. Do we need to transport the logical system and client assignment using STMS or create directly in the target system??

The issue with transporting the ALE distribution model is that the source and target logical system names change between the dev, test and prod environments.
Assume an ECC6 and PI landscape with dev/test/prod called E6D/E6T/E6P and PID/PIT/PIP with all systems using client 100. By default (SAP recommendation) the logical system name for E6D client 100 is E6DCLNT100 and its PI partner in the dev landscape will be PID client 100 with logical system name PIDCLNT100. In test the logical system names will be E6TCLNT100 and PITCLNT100 and in prod E6PCLNT100/PIPCLNT100.
So, when a distribution model is set up in dev with a source system of E6DCLNT100 sending messages to a target system PIDCLNT100 everything works nicely. This assumes that the PIDCLNT100 logical system partner in WE20/WE21 is mapped to a port which maps to an RFC destination pointing to client 100 of PID.
When this model is transported to the test system it won't work because the logical system names are wrong.
It is possible to create a logical system name called PISERVER in SALE and then map that, via WE20/WE21 to point to the corresponding PI instance. Thus in E6D, WE21 would map logical system PISERVER to the RFC destination for PIDCLNT100 but in E6T the mapping would link to RFC destination PITCLNT100 and in E6P to PIPCLNT100. In this way any ABAP programming trying to use the ALE distribution model would send messages to PISERVER and would be transportable.
However, setting up the source system in the same way appears to be impossible. When attempting to generate partner profiles, transaction BD82 stubbornly insists that the source system for which it will build profiles MUST be the logical system name defined for the execution client in SCC4. Theoretically, mapping similar to that for PISERVER could be performed for ECC6SERVER and the ALE distribution model could be built to send messages from ECC6SERVER to PISERVER but BD82 won't honour this source system.
This appears to make it impossible to transport an ALE Distribution Model. Can anybody provide a process to overcome this apparent architectural limitation?

Program to Auto Import transports to quality and production systems

Hi Experts
Do anyone have a program that imports transport requests automatically into quality and production systems from development? I know there is a procedure to import all into QA that can be set in TMS.
But I am looking for a program instead that could auto import into quality and subsequently to production.

You need to set the autoimport job in Q whichh will bring all the transport from Dev when they are released. For autoimport go to STMS --> import queue of your Q system -->Start import with the small truck sign and it will ask you to select the time (run it every 15 mins or so) --> start the job
Production you never setup an autoimport, there might be some transports which you may not want to send to prod, only the approved transport will go to prod. Hope this helps

Development and Production Requirements for a Forms/Report application

Dear all,
We have an application witch run in client/Server mode using Forms/Reports 6i For 300 users.We want to migrate it on Forms/Reports 9I using Oracle 9IAS and Oracle 9IDB.
I would like to have advises about material requirements of both development and production environment((developer deskop, development appServer and databaseServer, end user desktop,production databaseServer and production AppServer).

I have my dev and production on 2 different databases/instances, and the workspaces have a different name aswell (think 'dev' and 'prod').
I do reuse my application ids, which makes the whole process a lot more manageable: easier for me to identify and replacing a whole application.
However, when i want to replace only 1 page, apex stumbles over the workspace. Bummer.
So i took an export of a page on both workspaces, and opened the files.

I took both workspace IDs and keep them in a simple txt in my installation-files folder. Each time i need to import a page from dev->prod i go in the exported file from dev and change the workspace id to the id of my production workspace id. Everything works magically after that.
If your application ids also differ, you can try changing the id in the exported file aswell, but i can't tell if it works or not since i've not done that yet.

URL Link Difference in development and Production

in the above URL is available in Dev server. we are passing the GUI here , so in program we are concatenating the GUID with the URL.
But in production , when you concatenate this , its not coming ...becuase when u see the URL for message,refer below

Crystal Develop and Production Guidelines in SQL Server (Crystal 9)

We have development and production environment on 2 different machines.
It seems when we want to migrate a report from dev to prod, we need to reset the DSN or connection and crystal then forces us to respecify all field names in a report.
It is a big pain. Has anyone seen this?

When you migrate a report, you need to
- Create a DSN with same name on Production as it was on Test.
- Do a set Datasource location.
- Verify database to ensure all changes made in the database are reflected.
- If you have used stored procedure with parameter in your report, then uncheck the above option and then refresh the report.

Process chain (RSPC) modifcation in Quality and production system

In our landscape quality and production system is set as non modifiable. But we want to modify the process chain (RSPC) in Quality and production system.
As per the thread Need input: do process chain/InfoPackages changeable on PROD in your compa? in RSA1 -> Transport connection we made RSPC ( Process Chain) , RSPT (process chain starter) and RSPV (process variants) are changeable.
With this setting we are able to create/ edit new process chain in Quality and Production system. But we canu2019t edit the transported Process chain. i.e. process chain transported from Dev to Quality system.
We donu2019t want to open Business Information Warehouse: Customer Namespace (/BIC/ ) in Quality and production system (Se06). Please let me know is there any other settings needs to be.
We are on BI 7.0

Development and Production SLDs

We have completed Development and testing of XI objects and are at a stage to transport the objects to Production. We have two SLDs for XI, one for Non-productive systems and another for the Prod system. As regards to SLD entries for transport to Production, I though the following is the process
1. Create Production Business systems in DEV-SLD putting them in the right Business group
2. Export DEV-SLD entries
3. Import the file into PROD-SLD
4. After go-live only delta SLD entries would be exported and imported into PROD-SLD
In the following Weblog, /people/sap.india5/blog/2005/11/03/xi-software-logistics-1-sld-preparation, Yuvaraj talked about SLD data supplier bridge from Dev SLD to Production SLD. Is this absolutely necessary? With the bridge operating, what happens if somebody deletes a business system by mistake in Dev SLD?

My reason for not having prod entries on Dev SLD is that if Prod Entries are going to be on dev SLD, then why have a separate SLD for Prod itself?
My logic for this would be during development, create all the Production Business Systems in DEV-SLD and transport them to PROD-SLD. At runtime system uses Prodcution-SLD. I guess the differernce is design time vs Runtime.
But once again, SAP recommends a single SLD and so when the landscape contains multiple SLD's there are no rules on how to go about this and so either way things will work fine :-)
SAP's recommendations seem to have changed off late. Though in online help they have again and again mentioned that one SLD is recommended, I do know that some internal SAP Consultants recommending separate SLDs for non-productive and productive purposes. There are also documents on Service market place providing information on how to set-up two SLDs for productive and non-productive purposes.

Process Order tables and Production System Performance

Hi All,
What are the different tables of Process order? Also how do i know which table affects the system performance of Production system and to what extent if Change Logging is made active ?
The issue is in our clients place we would like to set the Change Logging ( Records changes made for any transaction ) for Process orders and we would like to know to which tables change logging should be made active so that Production system performance is not affected.
Please help me regarding this.

All the changes done in any transaction are saved in CDPOS table.
when there is any report developed based on this table then the performance will be very slow.
Tables used for process orders are
AFKO            Order header data PP orders
AFPO            Order item
AFRU            Order Confirmations
AFRUHR        Order Confirmations for HR
AFRV             Confirmation pool
AFVC             Operation within an order

Business Content -is needed for QA and Production System

I am working in BW3.5 system.
BI content 3.5.3 is installed in BW Development system.
Is it necessary BI content needs to be installed all the system like BW QA and BW production system.
I am going to activate necessary objects only in BW Development environment. I am not going to activate anything in( Business content )QA /Production.
I am going to move all the objects through Transports.
Now our basis team saying that we have to install BI content in QA and Production.
Please advise on this.

Its customary to install the bussiness content first & start working wwith it . As far as qa,prod & Dev are concerned ,remember that though you transport from prod to qa & dev if they have to be available for use then they have to be activated . So activation of at least the necessary objects is a must in qa & dev as well .

WebService in Adobe Forms in Test and Production Systems

Hello Friends,
I am facing a peculiar problem with the webservice. I have created one Adobe Form in Development system and in that Adobe Form I used one WebService to get the User's Complete Name. Its working fine in Development System. And all the WebDynpro Component's and Applications, RFC Function Module(for WebService), WebService Name were placed in same Request ID and this request is being moved from Development System to Quality system, here all the objects were present except WebService Name i.e. this service can be seen only from SOAMANAGER Transaction but not from SICF Transaction(As given in SAP Note: 1318499). And I came to know that we need to use only SOAMANAGER transaction ONLY in Quality or Production systems.
But while creating Data Connection in Adobe Form I used SOAMANAGER's generated URL and it got created successfully and while triggering the WebService at Runtime based on some event I am writing JavaScript Code and here I am using the URL where it is generated from SICF Transaction.
Friends please help me in solving the issue as which URL I need to use in Adobe Form at runtime(i.e. triggering webservice from JavaScript, the URL from SOAMANAGER is not working in JavaScript).
