Development- InfoCube on Attributes in Solution Manager

Hi everyone,
I am new to development in BI as a whole but I have a question...
I am trying to create an InfoCube (than query) that will generate a list of the attributes of documentation in Solution Manager.  Does anyone know if this is possible or not?
I already have Solution Manager set up as a source system in the Business Warehouse.  Any ideas of what I would need to do next?
Please help!

Hi,
Look for data sources already replicated from SMP system.
If you are not having then first you need to create Data Source in SMP or need to replicate any existing one.
Once data source is availbel in BW then look for fields and define the dimensions for that. If you would like to stage the data in DSO first then map the data source with DSO and then map the DSO with cube.
You need to have some master data objects as well, For example Approver/Payer etc as you need to load the text for all those. You may use the same objects in cube as well.
I hope it will help.
Thanks,
S

  • Support message not getting reflected in Solution manager system

    Hi,
    In satellite system support message is getting created, message number"...." successfully created in service desk.
    When i check in solution manager system in  crm_dno_monitor the message that i created in satellite system is not getting reflected in solution manager. I removed the varients and then executed . The result is still the same.
    Service desk was configured from our Development system (Client 320) to solution manager. I wanted the support desk to work from my another cleint in same system to Solution manager.
    What can be the possible problem.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Gurus,
    Issue got resolved, the problem was with the variant which was assigned as default for the tcode.

  • SAP Attributes of Service Desk in Solution Manager

    Dear all,
    We are using the Service Desk functionality of Solution Manager to create issues out of the satellite systems directly in SolMan.
    When opening a SolMan msg, navigating to 'Transaction Data > SAP Attributes', you have a field called 'System Type'.
    I'm trying to find out how this field is filled out. I suppose this is done by the satellite system at the moment the msg is send to SolMan.
    Already did some investigation:
         - in the satellite systems:
    t-code: USMM - System Type
    t-code: SCC4 - Client Role
         - in SolMan:
    t-code: IB52 - no system type attribute found in the IBase
    We have one system where none of the system type is set to 'Production', but when raising an issue in SolMan system type 'Production' is choosen.
    Anybody an idea where this info comes from?
    Thanks a lot!
    Roel

    Hi Roel,
    quick answer since I have been trying to find some answers about Service Desk myself.
    Anyway, I would double check again the satellite system and make sure that the client you have logged on is the same like in the service desk message. Usually, the IBase number the last 3 digits will tell you, which client it was created in. There might be one client configured in SCC4 as productive client even though it is not a production server. I have that kind of situation with one customer environment. Once the sap router is up and running for this customer system, then I will see, if this actually does happen.
    Otherwise, I would not have any ideas either.
    Your welcome,
    Markus

  • Developement overview / monitoring in Solution Manager

    Hello all,
    I'm novice in Solution Manager and I don't know if my requirements are feasible.
    I created a structure in SolMan, I found out how to uploaded "development specification" into Proj.documentation tab. Even the statuses for documents are OK.
    What I'd like to do now is to use SOLAR02->Development tab to create "one dummy line" exactly for one development specification.
    I don't want to use connection to ECC backend system so I need to define new "object type" and configured in different way (e.g. like the BMDD obj.type but with different behavior). In that line I'd like to keep the track about the development progress with using special statuses.
    Only thing is, where am I supposed to define new "object type" .. or if my idea is able to be done in Solution Manager at all.
    Thanks for any comments, reward points for everyone.

    Hi Kamal,
    The monitoring setup for non-SAP software is actually not done on the solution manager system itself. The solution manager gets its feed of alert information from the satellite systems... specifically from CCMS.
    For SAP systems, alerts from CCMS are activated and set up by default for the SAP environment. For third-party systems you have to be able to set up the interface to feed monitoring information from your non-SAP software to SAP's CCMS infrastructure.
    You can get some information on CCMS agents via the website at http:
    service.sap.com\monitoring. Go to 'System Monitoring and Alert Management' -> 'Monitoring in Detail'
    I hope this information helps.

  • Solution Manager Document attributes

    We are using solution manager for project documents. We want to add more custom attributes to the existing attributes like document type, status and the owner.
    Is this possible and if yes how to do it?
    Regards
    Ravi

    In Solution Manager project, business blueprint documents can be maintained. Like functional and technical spec documnets or configuration documents. There are attributes like document type, document status and document owner assigned to these docuents.
    I want to create more attributes like target date, effort..for a document and maintain the values for every
    document.

  • How to install both solution manager and ECC Development on same server

    Hi All,
    Can anyone help me how to install Solution Manager and ECC Development on same server and also whether SLD is required? if yes, then how to setup.
    Pls let me know.
    Regards,
    Karthik

    Hi Karthik,
    I try to answer you message, my answer may not be sufficient for you.
    Install SAP Solution Manager and ECC development as separate systems sharing the same server. So each system will get it's own system id and installation number.
    Verify sizing of both systems.
    SLD is not mandatory for a SAP Solution Manager. If a SLD already exist in your System Landscape, you can connect SMSY (System Landscape) in transaction SMSY_SETUP with a SLD. Information on System will then be retrieved from SLD, rather via an RFC.

  • Solution Manager : Development Tab in SOLAR02

    G'day Members,
    In Solution Manager T/Code SOLAR02 has a Tab called "Development"
    We are entering all Customised Development Object within the Development Tab
    These are aligned to the Business Scenarios/Processes defined in SOLAR01
    Question : What purpose or value does one get out of defining the Development Object within the Development Tab

    Hi
    It is very useful in terms of reporting because developer can set the status values for the object
    Further in solar_eval when we generate reports we can know this object status with person working on it and it corresponds to which scenario
    so you can track and monitor.
    hope it clarifies
    Regards

  • Managing the development within solution manager landscape

    Hi
    We have a development system (SMD) and a production system (SMP). SMP is the domain controller and manages the change requests of R/3 DEV, QAS and PRD. Now we want to start deploying enhancements to the functionality in the solution manager itself. I created a maintenance project in SMP and activated the change request management. The maintenance cycle is generated showing SMD as the Development track and SMP as the production track. The status is changed to development with release along with the normal activating and unlocking of the tracks. A change request is created in SMP with the component as SMP system. When I try to create a transport request or try log onto the system, the system is raising different types of error messages. Ideally, it should have created transport requests in SMD and should have navigated there for us to perform the required configuration/development. The error messages are System SMD, client 110 not found when trying to log onto the system and when trying to create a new transport request, it raises the exception with below detailed description.
    "A technical problem occurred when RFC function module /TMWFLOW/TASK_START was accessed
    Message no. SOCM_ACTION_LOG 025
    Diagnosis
    An exception was triggered when an RFC module was called.
    The module is /TMWFLOW/TASK_START
    System Response
    The system terminated processing. The transaction contains errors.
    Procedure
    Check RFC connection NONE to the Solution Manager.
    Procedure for System Administration
    To analyze the termination, you can activate the assertions in the socm_rfc checkpoint group.
    Additional Information:
    Exception CX_SOCM_RFC_SYSTEM_FAILURE occurred (program:
    CL_CHM1_INSTANCE==============CP, include:
    CL_CHM1_INSTANCE==============CM00C, line: 140).
    There is no RFC destination in the specified target"
    Our basis person is also unable to troubleshoot this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Srinivas,
    1.Check on the RFCs in SMSY for the SMD and SMP.
    2.In the SMSY logical component when you click on the transport route is it showing the proper Transport route as you intented?
    3.In the transport route is it client specific?
    Please checkon the above and revert back for any clarification.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Avinash.

  • Mass Delete of Solution Manager Documents

    Hi
    We have a requirement in our project to mass delete documents ( some 4000+ ) . Is it possible
    Ideally I would like to filter them with SOLAR_EVAL based on attributes and then do mass delete.
    Any pointers will really be appreciated and rewarded
    Regards
    Jag

    Hi Jagmohan,
    Sorry I dont have a direct answer myself.
    However, all I can say is there is no such direct facility available in SolMan.
    The procedure for mass document deletion should be much similar to the need for mass upload and perhaps met only by ABAP development.
    [This|Mass Upload documents to Solution Manager; thread could help you to some extent.

  • Logical systems while implementing charm in solution manager

    Hello Everybody,
    I just wanted to know how many logical systems we need while implementing charm in solution manager 7.0. I have 3 clients in development , 3 clients in Quality and 1 client in production.
    Thank you,
    vikram.

    Hi Vikram,
    Yes, i1n ChaRM we always work with logical systems, I mean clients.
    The standard is:
    DEV -> QAS -> PRD
    However, you can also use:
    - Minimum
    DEV -> PRD
    - Target groups
    DEV -> QAS -> PRD
             - > TST
    DEV -> QA1 -> QA2 -> PRD
    DEV -> QA1 -> PR1
             -> QA2 -> PR2
    There are a lot of combination possible.

  • Working on Solution Manager

    Hi Gurus,

    a) Is there any link that helps us understand the basics of working on solution manager.
    b) Also, i understand we need to give the transaction codes that we work on in solution manager. (But in HCM as we work in the IMG the transaction code is always seen as SPRO for most of the configuration)
    c) How do we set the T Codes for entire configuration?
    We have the sub modules
    a) Personnel Administration (Recruitment Included)
    b) Organisation Management
    c) Time Management
    d) Payroll
    e) Personnel Development (PMS- OSA)
    f) Training and event Management
