Development N Deployment CoNcEpT?

i have forms, reports and discoverer developer topology (Single Machine topology)
if there are multiple developer's who wants to develop and deploy thier applications simultaneously in OAS.
Then How These developers will use or access the 10gDS and where they have to save their files(OAS host or any other machine) and where they have to save the FMX files for deployments.
Plese clarify this one
Thanks
Regards
Rana Adnan

Hi, Adnan
The first thing is development of application , i dont know your senerio but there should be an database server with with all the computer of developers should be connect , 10G ODS will be install on every machine becoz developers has to work on forms , and 10G ODS will be connected to a Database Server,
Now if u are using Application Server for deployment then u have to reside your forms on it , otherwise u can share a Drive of a machine and put all .Fmx there , from where user can access them ,
I hope this will help you understaning the concepts,
Take Care,

  • Develop and deploy in 11gR2

    Hello to all
    In 11gR2
What is the differences installing the 11gR2 of choose : Develop or deploy? and
Choosing develop, can I test FMB (locally on my develop pc) like I was doing in 10g?
    Thanks

Just for the sake of clarification:
There are a variety of difference between the Deployment and Development installation types. Below I will list just a few of the key factors:
    Deployment:
This installation type offers the option of choosing exactly which components you want to install or not install. This includes an option to install the Builders or not. This is the required installation type for multi-user access from remote clients. In other words this is intended for multi-user "deployment" purposes. This installation type offers the ability to manage your Forms/Reports environment through the EM and/or WLS Console environment. This option also offers the ability to use external authentication like Oracle Access Manager or Oracle Single Signon. In this installation you will find that the WLS domain is configured with an Admin, WLS_FORMS, and WLS_REPORTS managed servers. This allows for independant managent of each area.
    Development
This installation type is intended mostly for single user, local access as a "design time" environment. It is not intended for multi-user deployment or even access via a remote machine although it is possible. One of the main objectives with offering this installation type was to achieve a smaller footprint for design time user. The memory and disk space requirements for this type are much smaller than the Deployment option. This installation type will not include EM, however the WLS console will be available. Forms/Reports configurations are managed manually in this install type. In this installation type, the Forms and Reports serves are deployed into the Admin server (managed server). You will not find WLS_FORMS or WLS_REPORTS in this installation type. All java processes are installed and managed in "Admin" server. External authentication like OAM or SSO is not supported with this installation type. Also, other obvious feature and functions are not supported with this install type. For example, attempting to load balance this installation type is not supported since it is intended for single user use only. Of course, the Builders and other tools are included with this option.
Again, the above is not a complete list of differences. It is just a high level view of what to expect with each.

  • Development and Deployment of BPEL processes in ALBPM 6.0

    All,
I tried to develop a simple BPEL 2.0 process in ALBPM 6.0 and noticed that the tool does not generate an endpoint automatically to expose the BPEL as a web service. I had to create my own bidning and the service interface to get rid of a bunch of compile errors. I typed my address for the BPEL manually as 'http://localhost:9000/bpel'. I reloaded the server, but could not find a service at this address.
What are the correct steps of creating a BPEL process so that it deploys correctly and can be called externally as a web service?
Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Ok. The WSDL actually published, but when I tried to invoke it from ALBPM process on another engine I got this error:
Caused by: java.lang.AssertionError: Could not retrieve name
    at fuego.soaptype.SoapCall.initCallArguments(SoapCall.java:172)
    at fuego.soaptype.SoapCall.<init>(SoapCall.java:94)
    etc...
What is the correct process for generating WSDLs for BPEL processes with ALBPM 6.0? Can WSDL location address be generated automatically? What does "Could not retrieve name" error relate to?

    I'd greatly appreciate an answer.

    Hi,
I can tell you some strange thing that happens everytime I am deploying with Developer Studio:
1.) I deploy locally. My password is xxx. Everything is fine.
2.) I deploy on the productive system. My password is yyy. Everything is fine.
3.) I change the settings to the integration system. Refresh the view. I can see the correct integration engine. I deploy. My password is yyy. The files are deployed on the productive system, not the integration system. Bad Luck.
If I change the password for the productive system to zzz, I get the same error message as you got when I try to deploy with zzz to the productive system. That is because Developer Studio connects to the wrong system.
This error happens every single time. Therefore I stopped deploying via Developer Studio for other engines but my own localhost. Deplyoing with SDM gui works just fine.
May be, you have a similar situation ?

  • SQL Developer Cart Deployment Losing Time on Date Columns

I tried using the SQL Developer cart feature to migrate from AWS to Oracle Cloud and I found that the time element of any date attributes is not migrated. I checked the deployment file contents and found that both the SQL*Loader control file and the data file (ldr) do not account for any time information in a date table attribute.
Any one run into this issue and know how to get SQL Developer to pick up the time when it pulls date attribute values?

    Hi,
There is no special preference controlling the date format in Database | Utilities | Cart, so the behavior either must be automatic or dependent on the NLS setting.
You might check if Tools | Preferences | Database | NLS | Date Format already contains a time format component. If the Cart deploy of dates does not work even with the correct NLS format, then this may need to be bugged. Perhaps an improvement has already been made for the next release. Please let us know. I will ping the developer on this.

  • Development or Deployment Configuration Management

    Forte Users:
I have been using Forte for awhile and have experienced various levels
of pleasure and pain with regard to configuration management. I have
been witness to various strategies for keeping things clean and smooth.
I was at Forte Forum to hear talk and witness some products to help
address issue, but still have only a foggy notion about how to do things
    in the here and now.
My request is to gather from some outside chatter and see what other
people are doing. How are people safely managing repositories and
classes in the development environment? Once deployed? Is there a daily
or weekly practice or checklist that addesses configuration issues? Are
    people putting together automated processes?
We are actually working to integrate with PVCS today to take care of
some things, but I am really interested in knowing what is working out
there without special tools. Please reply with any insight that may be
    shared.
    Thanks in advance.

**Any opinions you might see up above are surely mine and USAA has
    nothing to do with them.**

don't underestimate the need for cm. someone should find the time to
set the ground rules now. otherwise it's going to be a huge mess later
on. here are some things to consider:
o determine your application's package structure.
o determine your development environment's directory structure (e.g.
    classes in ~/apps/classes, source in ~/apps/src ...).
o take the time to stub-out the interfaces between the different
layers of the application and your ejbs. this is really important if
you've vertically separated programming tasks and will allow each team
to write their stuff without regard to other teams. as each team
completes their slice they should fit together seamlessly as long as
the interface hasn't changed. this will take some time up-front, but
    it's definitely worth it.
o if you really need to share files (veps...) setup a shared dir or
something. if you're going to share these types of files, the second
    point is critical.

5 developers and we need to setup the directories and files to be able to
share EJB jar file and simple java classes (helper classes) through

  • How to develop and deploy multiple worker roles in single azure cloud services?

    I am Manikandan, From Myeasydocs.com.
We have developed our application as web projects.  Now we are going to move to azure cloud services, i have successfully migrated our application in cloud services and it worked fine. I am having difficulties with back ground task. i have nearly 12
schedule tasks in our applications. I need assist on creating multiple worker role creation and deployment.
Is there is any site on explaining the worker role process in details?
    Thanks in advance .. !!

    Hi,
In Worker role, Applications hosted within worker roles can run asynchronous, long-running or perpetual tasks independent of user interaction or input. It is a service component that is useful for generalized development, and may perform background processing
for a web role. A worker role is frequently used for long-running tasks that are non-interactive, but you can host any type of workload.
I suggest you to follow the below article which explains about Creating and Deploying of Web Roles and Worker Roles in Azure Cloud Service using Visual Studio.

Yes, you should be able to do it. Once you create the web service you can attach ws-policy file to enable ws-security

  • Collaborative Development / Hot Deployment?

We are a small development team (5-7 people) and have a need to develop collaboratively because each of us is working on small parts of a large application, and we have code dependencies upon eachother. We are looking for suggestions on how to develop collaboratively.
We have attempted to use 9iAS to develop on - but every time we change any class files, we have to restart the OC4J container for them to be recognized error free. JDeveloper is out of the question because our current PC's cannot handle it (PII ~ 350mhz, 256RAM) and we cannot get new PC's for another year. We have attempted to run a standalone instance of OC4J on the server, but that still requires restarting the instance anytime classes are changed.
Does anyone have any suggestions for collaborative development? Does anyone know of an environment that has a working hot deployment feature? We are not developing any EJB's, it is strictly a JSP/Servlet solution with Data Access classes for database interaction.

    Semi-speculation on my part follows:
My understanding of "hot deployment" is that if a new ear file was placed in
the applications directory it wouldn't supercede the old ear file until it
was manually deployed. It may however get staged to managed servers but not
actually deployed. i.e moved but not available.

Pretty standard for AS8 to deploy Spring. The only thing to watch for is the security manager, which you'll probably want to turn off.

    Hi,
the message server port is given in the profile file for the Central Services instance of the J2EE Engine. Here's the path to this file: \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile directory. The file name is formed using the following scheme: <SID>_<Central_instance_name>_<hostname>.
Open it with a text editor and have a look at the value of the rdisp/msserv property (this is the port of the message server you need to use).
