Device always asking for apple password b4 downloading apps

my device is always asking for apple store password even though I'm supposedly signed on. Is that normal?

That is normal, because it doesn't want somebody that may have stolen your device to go using your money on apps you don't want.

  • Mail always asks for accounts' passwords when external app passes file

Hi - although password handling by Mail in Lion seems to be problematic at times, after a quick stroll through the support forum, I have not been able to find this specific problem. It's not a massive issue but a bit of a pain...
I have three POP email accounts. When Mail is not running but opened by an external application using "Send File as Email" (e.g., sending a pdf  from Preview), when Mail opens I have to put the passwords in for all accounts.
I simply close email, open it again from the dock and everything works fine.
Not a major issue but a hassle since Lion is a bit sluggish on my machine anyway (it's a Macbook Pro early 2008 but with a RAM upgrade), especially Mail.
Has anyone experienced this problem or even a solution?
    Thanks...

    PS: it is same when
you slide a file from desktop / finder window onto the Mail icon to open mail and create the new email at the same time, and, I think,
when Mail is opened normally via the dock shortcut but opens very slowly because of Lion slowness (e.g. opening three programs at the same time and time machine preparing for backup)...

  • Why does Intel version always ask for my password when adding loops?

When I add loops to the PPC version, it never asks for my password. I want this behavior on the Intel version. Always asking for my password’s really annoying. Thanks very much. Peace.

Being able to to access, install and change anything on your computer with a simple keystroke is just not a good thing security wise. Maybe you don't download from unknown sources, use a wifi network, use public or work networks, IM, let others use your computer or let OS and software get out of date. But people reading this may not be in your situation. Most password hacking tools will start with single keystrokes and no password will gain access in a fraction of a second.

  • Repeatedly asking for apple password when adding security questions

when trying to download apps on ipod touch it asks me to choose 3 security questions (which i did 2 days ago when i first set it up )but when continuing to try and answer questions its repeatedly asks for apple password which i am entering correctly and doesnt seem to get any further and therefore i cant download apps.
    Can anyone help?

I encountered this on my son's iPod Touch. I tried an 'Update All', but since he has one or two apps from his sister's Apple ID and she wasn't here to enter her password (which stopped the whole process!) I wanted to just update the other apps (purchased on my Apple ID). However, since there wasn't an option to skip an app, it seemed the only way to update the others (around 50 apps) was to click on all the update buttons individually. That would have been annoying enough, but fancy being asked to type in my password for every… single… app!
Absolute madness. Does Apple not think through these things anymore? They used to pay such careful attention to little details of the user experience. Very frustrating.

  • I always have trouble with my mailbox. It is always asking for my passwords but everything has been verified. How can I get it to stop doing it and start working????

I always have trouble with my mailbox. It is always asking for my passwords but everything has been verified. How can I get it to stop doing it and start working????

There is only one thing that happens -- the Server does not respond.
Your mac concludes that you must have entered the wrong password. That may happen once, but then other issues become more likely, and it keeps asking for a new password.
Sometimes the Server is down for maintenance. Sometimes something is configured wrong. Some services do this on purpose to get you to use WebMail (pick up your Mail with your Browser) so they can show you some ads.

I am no longer being asked for a password when downloading an app or music in iTunes, big problem with kids. How do I enable

To elaborate further, in those restrictions you can specify exactly what types of actions you would like to restrict.
I think you'll find this accomplishes your objective.

  • When I synced my iphone to our computer, it took on my husbands apple id account and now it asks for his password to update apps.  How do I get mine back?

When I synced my iphone to our computer, it took on my husbands apple id account and now it asks for his password to update apps.  How do I get mine back?

Yes, you can delete them from your phone by tapping the icon until it jiggles, then tap the black x.  You can verify that your Apple ID is still correct for future purchased by going to Settings>Store>Apple ID (at the bottom).  If it's wrong, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using your ID.  Then you should be good to go.

  • HT1349 Why does iPhone ask for apple password after rebooting?

Why does iPhone ask for apple password after rebooting? It just started to do that recently. I've had iPhone5 for several months now and it just started to do that.
Before I could reboot without having to type apple ID password to start using my phone.

Could be part of Apple's new security procedures that were implemented this past week.

  • Somehow my husbands apple id "jumped" to my phone.  Now I'm always asked for his password and it's not even the ID he is using.  How do I get my phone back?

Somehow my husbands Apple ID "jumped" to my phone, or at least I'm asked for his password (and not for the ID he uses).  How do I get my phone back to my ID?

I believe that he must have at some point logged in to your phone and installed an app that he downloaded on his account and installed that app onto your phone. When your phone attempts to update that app, it will ask for his ID.
    OR
He might have just decided to log you out of your account and log himself in.
    Try - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311
It might help if you described when you're getting password (for his ID) prompts.

  • TS3276 When sending, Mail always ask for my password....why?

Mail asks for my password when I send an e-mail. Sometimes it take a few minutes before asking. How do I resolve this issue?

Does the same occur when setting Mail to check for new mail every 5 or 15 minutes?
If there are a number of messages to download and/or a message or messages contain attachments and the download process is not completed and the communication with the server closed before the next automatic check for new mail, the prompt to manually enter the account's password will be provided instead of an error message indicating there was a problem communicating with the server or the account will be taken offline.
The same can occur if there is heavy network traffic at the incoming mail server for the account when the Mail.app checks for new mail.
I have the Mail.app set to check for new mail every 15 minutes and if I am prompted to manually enter an account's password, this indicates there is a temporary problem at the incoming mail server for the account.
I have provided feedback to Apple requesting the Mail.app provide a communication with the server error message instead of a request to manually enter the account's password.
Try changing it to every 5 minutes as a test.

  • Always always always asking for wifi password!

  • Always asking for iTunes password

I have a new 3GS and often when I wake it up it will ask me for my iTunes password. I have entered it several times but it seems to keep happening.
Anyone else seeing this? Any possible fixes?
    Thanks

My iPhone (O2,3G) also asks for iTunes passwords when it should not, but only when accessing the App store. It did not initially do this under 2.2.1 but developed the habit when an app update on the phone failed during installation. Installing 3.0 removed the problem but this morning I tried to update an app and although the install seemed to work (the app is now the newest version) there were errors during the install warning me that the installation could not be completed and I would have to download it via iTunes. Following that, the phone is back to asking me for my password every time I open the App store app.
Presumably there's a file somewhere on the phone that is created or touched when doing updates and not cleaned up when they are successful. If so, would there be any way to delete it without losing data?

  • What do I do to stop my emails always asking for the password?

I have just had my iPhone5 replaced with a new one, and after getting synched with iCloud my email addresses are asking for the password.  have never had a password on emails...how do I stop this occuring?  many thx

Yes, but for that you'll need a cellular modem and a data plan to go with it. Or you may be able to use a cellular phone in tethered mode. I have no experience with either method, so I'll leave the explaining to someone who knows about them. Or if you already have a cell phone and plan, consult your phone service provider.
