Device authorising failure

I connected my device and digital editions asked if I wanted to authorise the device. After several minutes my server went down. When I restarted, the device wasn't authorised but Digital Editions no longer recognised it as a new device. What do I need to do  to get the device auhtorised?
Thanks

The device is a Binatone KidzStar ereader. It doesn't a[[ear in the supported ist, but as ADE tried to athorise it whr=en I first plugged it in, I think it must be possible to authorise the device aqnd this would have been done if my server hadn't gone down.
The authorising screen was displayed and the green profress bar had moved about a quater f of the way across the screen when the sever went down. There was no error message but when I plug the device in , it doesn't appear on the left side opf the ADE screen,. and ADE deoes not offer to authorise it., I have tried deleting the Digital editions fiolder as you suggest, but this hasn't wo9rked ADE simply recreates the folder.Looks like I'm stuffed>

  • My Blackberry Curve 8520 get authorisation failure when i call people

I bought a Blackberry Curve 8520 yesterday on pay as you go on virgin. I got my £10 top-up that came with it this morning and so i thought would call a friend. when i do it says 'authorisation failure'. This is quite annoying as i only bought it yesterday and yet i cant even call anyone, already!
Ive looked all over the internet and havent come to a clear solution, this sort of problem seems common with second-hand phones, not phone that are brought brand new. cheers for the help, would be welcome.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
There is definitely something not correct, but it is at the voice-level functionality, not the data level. So, you need to talk to Virgin about it...it is their network, after all, through which your BB is unable to communicate.
    Good luck!
PS -- you did not say clearly...but is your BB new or used? If new, did you also buy it from Virgin? If so, then they are 100% responsible for all of your services as well as 100% responsible for all of your formal support...which only bolsters the "ring them up" path to seek resolution.

  • This device cannot start. (Code 10) Status Device Power Failure for Intel (R) Audio Display

Hi I just bought HP Envy M7 Sleekbook last week and upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1 for Windows 8.
Now I have no sound and this is the error message I get:
This device cannot start. (Code 10) Status Device Power Failure  (for  Intel (R) Audio Display)
under Sound, Vieo and Game Controllers in the Device Manager.
Anyone else having this issue after upgrading?
Getting a new lappy is stressful enough but to alreay have issues is ridiculous
If the upgrade is not the issue could something have happened in transit? (I have an issue with the way Best Buy packed it for shipment and wonder if it could have been compromised)
Any help is appreciated. Or should Ibe taing this back to best buy and have them address it?
    Thanks
    Pam

Ahmed, if your HP Envy has an Intel processor chances are it will be necessary to download new drivers for both sound and chipset due to compatibility issues with Windows 8.1. After 4-1/2 hours on the phone with various technical agents and a lot of frustration I finally got one who had the knowledge and training to resolve my issue. I believe he downloaded the new drivers from the HP support site. Good luck!!

  • Device Descriptor Failure 8.1 and 8.0 reverted USB error

    Hello,
After windows 8.1 update through windows update service Iam experiencing unrcognized usb device ERROR for all brands and devices of usb thumb drives and  dynex and microsoft wireless mouse , dynex plug in mouse.  Error defined as  Device Descriptor Failure.
After looking the issue up Im told windows 8.1 has issues with usb devices that are 3.0 ready. I have tried 3 different brands  of thumb drives and two brands of wireless mouses and my usb drive will not recognize anything the same error.
I  tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling this did not work. I reverted back to windows 8 from 8.1 and the issue did not change,   all devices worked properly before windows 8.1 upgrade. Several other similar reports all over the web.
    please help
    Lap Top Satelite C885D
recent updated operating system to 8.1 through windows update,

I think I solved this, at least for my machine. Lone_Wolf's suggestion about the fast boot possibly being an issue got me to poking around my bios a bit more. Under "Advanced CPU" I found another boot setting called "Boot performance mode" that was set to "Turbo" - what exactly that means I don't know. The little info box says that "Boot Performance Mode" is used to "Select the performance state that the BIOS will set before OS handoff" - again, not really clear what that means.
However, switching it from "Turbo" to "Max Non-Turbo Performance" has (so far) solved this problem. Not sure if it's just a coincidence and this will crop up again, but so far after several reboots I haven't had the described issue occur again. It's still not clear to me why this issue started all of the sudden, as I haven't made any changes to my bios settings in many months.
If anyone has any insight to what these settings are actually doing I'd be interested to know (brief googling hasn't turned up much). Asus Z87 Pro mobo, if that's relevant.
Marking as solved for now, thanks for the help.

  • "Unable to open device (read failure)!" message with Samsung

I have a Samsung ML-2510 (fairly new printer) plugged into my Airport Extreme (the latest -g version before the new -n version) and seem to be having problems with printing. After powering up the Airport, the computer will allow one job to print. After that, the print status window gets to "processing job, 7%" then shows "Unable to open device (read failure)!". The only solution to get it printing again is to reset the Airport.
I've tried reinstalling the driver from Samsung.com, changing some wireless settings on the airport, restarting the computer (and printer), and even changing the USB cable. None of the above has worked.
    Any solutions?

I had a similar issue with a ML-2010 after upgrading from 10.4 to 10.5 but using a Linksys wireless router rather than Airports. The steps below worked for me so I hope these are of some help to you as well. I stumbled across these in the Airport for Windows forum.
    1. Opened print/fax pref
    2. Went to + (add printer)
    3. Went to IP and selected HP Jetdirect (not IPP, not LDP)
    4. Determined the IP address for my Belkin wired print server (I determined this from looking in the Windows printer setup on my Windows laptop that printed through the print server to the ML-2010 with no problems. Initially I wasn't sure if the problem was with the print server, the printer or OS 10.5)
    5. Typed the IP address in "Address" back in Fax/print.
    6. Left the "Name" as it appeared.
    7. Print Driver I used was ML-2010 (look in M's), not any Samsung listed driver (in the S's).
    8. I didn't have to reboot anything but I've seen reports that some people had to power cycle their print server and sometimes the printer as well.
    I hope this helps.

  • Error target device access failure

After my return from a week vacation I have not been able to get my MAC Mini server (late2009) to start up. Now I'm able to run a test, which is running right now, but have received error "target device access failure".
Any help or how I can start up my MAC mini will be greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Hector

You're not really working with a 10-hour timeline, are you? You can only fit about 60-70 minutes of video on a standard DVD -- maybe twice that on a dual layer disc.
In any event, the best way to find out what's going wrong and when is to use the troubleshooting steps in the FAQs to the right of the forum.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415318?tstart=0
If you'll post the results for each step in as much detail as possible, we can help you figure out what's going wrong and how to fix it.
BTW, you're not combining MPEGs and AVIs in the same project, are you?
You definitely want to convert those MPEGs first to AVIs so that only DV-AVIs are going into a project and that project. It will certainly save you a lot of heartache (as well as having to deal with strange interlacing issues) later.

  • Authorisation failure with 9300

    Hi
I have a BB Curve 9300 on pay as you go with Virgin sim card and it was working fine but now everytime I use it to make any calls it comes up with Authorisation Failure.
I don't know what this means or what to do..  Can someone please help me?
    Thanks

I found a simple solution was, turn off PC, turn off modem, disconnect PC from modem, turn on modem, wait till its lights are happy, connect pc to modem then turn on, an Windows should say found new hardware, click yes, the Authorization Required, should be in manual supplied, ie: Basic Mobile 0000, then you can change it, unless somone has set a code to its hardware, if so there should be a reset code in the manual.
PS: it is not FireFox, it is the modem itself, if you have done a software update, with Win7 a lot of settings go to God, trust me it happened with mine..

  • 2 devices authorised but 'can't authorise more than 5' message appears

I need to authorise a replacement computer - de-authorised and re-authorised 2 devices but the computer tells me 5 are authorised and you can't de-authorise more than once a year - any ideas?

One computer using multiple iTunes Store authorizations - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1206 - "If the number there is higher than the number of computers that you have authorized, it is possible that one or more of your computers is using multiple authorizations."
If the above doesn't work because you are up against a deauthorization limit you will have to contact Apple.

  • ACS + Device Authorization Failure

    Good Afternoon:
I hoping someone can help me out... I have an ACS configured with a group that is setup for admins. This group is mapped to an AD group. This is setup correctly. On each network device are the commands:
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ if-authenticated
I can create a local user and place them into the aformentioned group and the TACACs authentication and authorization work fine. However, I cannot use that same local group mapped to a AD group and a user in that group. It passes authentication but I get an authorization failure in my logs (ACS) and a authorization failed message on the device.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

ACS has extensive logging capabilities that allow an administrator to troubleshoot any issue pertaining to the ACS server itself (for example, replication) or an AAA request problem (for example, an authentication problem) from NAS.
Refer the following url for more info on troubleshooting ACS:

  • ITunes 9.1: Apple Mobile Device Support failure

iTunes was working fine for my on my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit laptop since I got my iPhone in November, including though all updates until 9.1. Using the standard Apple Update program, I chose to update iTunes and Quicktime. It downloaded the files and started the installation process. I initially did not watch all the process of the installation, but I was not given any errors upon completion. I then plugged in my iPhone and a message popped up that "Apple Mobile Device Support" was outdated and I needed to uninstall both Apple Mobile Device Support (I'll refer to it as AMDS for short) and iTunes and then re-install iTunes. I attempted to uninstall AMDS and it failed to uninstall. iTunes uninstalled without an issue. I finally used a program called "Perfect Uninstaller" to uninstall AMDS and clean the registry of its presence. It was finally gone. After a reboot, I tried to install iTunes again. This time, I watched the installation process. At one point, the progress bar went backwards as it "rolled back changes". It then proceeded to install other stuff. I again got no errors or notifications that there was any failure in installation, yet AMDS did not install... apparently the process that rolled backwards. I saw some support give an order of uninstall, so I uninstalled iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Bonjour and then Apple Application Support. I again rebooted and attempted re-install of iTunes. Still no AMDS. I found the location Apple Software Update had stored files and attempted to run AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi. This went through the installation process and ended up failing... not giving a reason for failure, just that it failed. I then cleared as much as I could find other than my music and applications library of all Apple software. I still get failure after failure... but only AMDS is failing to install. Any ideas?

I realize I've not gotten a response, but in case someone is silently observing the issues I've been facing, I was looking through my log file more (thousands of lines) and think that giving a larger view of the log may help...

  • Bluetooth Peripheral Device driver failure in Windows Vista

I've linked my computer and my Palm Centro using a Bluetooth connection and now I keep getting an error message that says...
"Device driver was not successfully installed...Bluetooth Peripheral Device - Failed"
It tries to search the computer to find the driver and when it can't it asks me to put in the CD that came with the phone.  I do that and it still can't find the driver.
Does anyone know where I can find this mystery driver???   Please help!!  Thanks

I am having the same problem with a new RocketFish Bluetooth adapter.  I did NOT have this problem when I was using a Kensington USB Bluetooth adapter.  One big difference that I notice between the two adapters is that the Kensington adapter came with an updated version of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack software which contained its own DUN drivers.  However, the new RocketFish Bluetooth 2.0 EDR USB adapter does not seem to work with the Toshibal BT Stack.
Maybe this helps.  Maybe it doesn't.  Either way, I don't care.  It's how I roll.  I'm a smart ass.

  • Bluetooth Peripheral Device driver failure in Windows Vista and Windows 7 (solved)

I had problems setting up Bluetooth HotSync.  Following the directions for pairing the device resulted in a "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" missing driver in Device Manager.  I finally figured out how to setup HotSync and am able to sync over Bluetooth to Windows 7 64-bit.
    On the PC
Right-click on the Bluetooth icon and select Show Bluetooth Devices
    Delete the Palm Phone
Right-click on the Bluetooth icon again and select Bluetooth settings
Turn Discovery on for the PC
    On the Palm Device
    Select Bluetooth
    Turn Bluetooth On
Set Visibility to Hidden (if desired)
Select Setup Devices on the Bluetooth screen
    Select HotSync Setup
    Click Next
    Select your PC
This is the important part:  Click Next 3 times (don't do what the screens tell you -- just click Next, Next, Next)
    Click Launch HotSync
    Viola!
    On the PC
Right-click on the Bluetooth icon again and select Bluetooth settings
Turn Discovery off for the PC (if desired)
