Device Central CS3 NOT compatible with Leopard

I just upgraded to OS X Leopard and Device Central CS3 is no
longer usable. OS X says it is "not supported on this
architecture," as if the machine was PowerPC (it is an Intel
MacBook Pro). All the Adobe support docs says DC is compatible so I
don't know how to resolve this situation.

CS3 device central is fully compatible with Leopard ...for me its running fine

    Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6.
    Firefox 16 is the last version that runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5.
    You would have to update to OS X 10.6 to be able to use current Firefox releases.

  • Illustrator CS3 not compatible with Vista

    I downloaded the trial version of Illustrator CS3 because my previous program - Freehand, is not compatible with Vista. The Adobe site stated that Illustrator was capable of importing and editing Freehand files so I gave it a try.
    Well, it does import the files with only a few minor font issues. BUT, when you try to SAVE or EXPORT it returns the error message: "can't save illustration". In other words, you can import, work, design, etc. but when it comes time to save or export your work, you can't. So the program is completely worthless.
    Adobe should have made this bug or conflict clear before releasing the product with Vista compatibility and stating that it could import Freehand 9 files. What good is importing the files if you can't save them after making the changes?
    I would caution anybody to wait until there is a patch or at least try the trial version before spending a lot of time and money on a program, only to find you can not save or export your work!

    >I finished editing a project in 2.0 and installed CS3 to finish. Now when I try to render the project it crashes and then I when I restart all of my media is unlinked so I relink save, crash, repeat forever. I guess I need to reinstll 2.0 this CS crap isn't working for me.
    I had a similar problem. I started a 60-minute documentary under Premiere 6.5 and finished it in Pro 2.0. Nightmares!
    I thus recommend starting and finishing each project in one version. I also recommend that when you get a version of Premiere running well on a particular system and you want to upgrade, you build an entirely new system and upgrade on THAT sys. Keep the old system because you have possibly scores or hundreds of hours into getting it to work perfectly. Sell these old systems off as turn-key systems to editors that are less experienced and don't need the power (yet). I have been doing this and it works out well. I am also developing a chain of trainees who will someday be able to COMPLETELY TAKE OVER MY EDITING POST AND THUS RELEASE ME FROM THIS HELL (so I can go back to producing and directing).

  • Disk Utility not compatible with Leopard

    Disk Utility does not work.
    When I run "Repair Permissions", all errors are unable to be fixed.
    The same error messages appear when starting up with the Leopard DVD (pressing "C" during start) via the Disk Utility from the menu.
    Now, I am stuck because iTunes will not import anything.
    Please help!

    Alright, then that's okay.
    I managed to solve the mystery of the iTunes files.
    It turns out that although the file extensions were the same (.AIFF), I had inadvertently selected Apple/SGI 32 bit (float) = not compatible.
    The solution was to select Apple/SGI16 bit (PCM) = compatible with iTunes.
    Now how will we be able to rely on Disk Utilities when it reports false information?

  • Contribute CS3 not working with Leopard

    Hi,
    Ever since I loaded Lopard onto my Mac - Contribute won't
    connect to any of my websites.
    Says it can't connect 'because the server is down or not
    accepting connections.'
    Is anyone else having this issue - and does anyone know the
    cure?
    I've re-installed - but still won't work.
    Thanks,
    - Greg

    This issue has been reported couple of time in this thread, i
    was able to get the site info twice from the users and for one site
    it was not connecting from the Tiger itself because of the site
    issue and for the next one it was working from the 3 leopard test
    machines we tried.
    We have tested Contribute CS3 on Leopard and it works fine.
    In case if the user is hitting any issue then it is important to
    reproduce it then only we nail it down.
    I do understand that you may not like to give the information
    and for that only the second option is:
    1. One test folder inside the site
    2. One test role and a test user under the same role
    3. Provide the access to the user only to that folder by
    administering the site -> Select the role->Edit Role
    settings->Folder File Access->Only allow editing within these
    folders -> Add the test folder in the list
    In this case i will be having the access to only one
    particular folder which you can very well delete later on.

  • Can't open Itunes. Update states system not compatible with leopard 10.5.8

    I was trying to sync music to my Iphone through my Computer, Mac 0S X Leopard version 10.5.8.  Couldn't open iTunes.  There was a update for iTunes and I downloaded it but before it could be loaded to my computer, it said my operating system needed to be 10.6.8.   Where and what should I be looking for to update iTunes on my computer?
      Greg

    Greg,
    If you can update your computer to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 that would be the smartest thing to do. Otherwise you can restore an earlier version of iTunes from your Time Machine backup. You can purchase Snow Leopard from Apple's online store for $20 and then use the 10.6.8 Combo Update to get the most up-to-date version of SL. You can find that download at:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
    Before doing ANY update make sure you have have backed up your system using Time Machine or create a bootable clone onto an external HD using SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner.

  • MSN mail not compatible with Leopard?

    Is it true that I can't retrieve or send any mail through the Leopard e-mail from my MSN mail account? I just bought the iPhone and I can't do it from there either. I have the accounts set up but it always gives me an error message "pop3.email.msn.com server connection failed". Do I really need to change my e-mail in order to use this feature?
    brtallent

    POP access to your hotmail (or windows live mail) is only a very recent happening that microsoft let out. Follow the instructions [here|http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=157589] to access it through mail. Or you can you a plugin for mail called [HTTPMail|http://www.automagic-software.com/downloads.php] which will let you access it as well.

  • The AirPlay device is not compatible with this version of iTunes.

    I can no longer connect one of my Air Port devices. I continually get the same error message.
    "The AirPlay device “Bedroom” is not compatible with this version of iTunes."
    Bedroom is the name I gave the device. I just updated my Itunes, and it shows "bedroom" as a multi speaker option, but wont connect. I'm not tech savy at all, just frustrated. Please help.
    Brian.

    Restarted everything twice. Now it works. Don't know how or why, but at least it's on now.

  • Seagate/Maxtor not compatible with TimeMachine

    The Seagate/Maxtor OneTouch III hard drives are not compatible with Leopard's TimeMachine. The drives have a built-in sleep timer that puts them into a non-recoverable sleep after a certain amount of time. I was told by the Seagate/Maxtor Customer support that this setting could be changed with provided SW but only on non-Leopard machines. Otherwise, their only solution is to keep Mac from ever going to sleep or to disconnect all cables from the drive before the Mac is put to sleep or turned off.
    If the drive goest to sleep (Mac will pop a warning that a "device was unmounted improperly) the only way to start it is to turn off the drive, pull the DC connector out, unplug the firewire connector (a must!) and then reconnect everything and turn on the power switch.
    They refuse to warn the buyers through a sticker on a box, etc. They also refuse to fix their product or refund the money.
    Other Seagate/Maxtor drives may have similar problems.

    Yep! I own the OneTouch III Turbo. It has two 500Gb drives inside and a hardware RAID controller to select between RAID-0 striped drives vs. RAID-1 mirrored drives. I've noticed that the utility to control the drive's RAID configuration (among other things) will launch, but not work correctly, under Leopard.
    I phoned them waaaay back when and they didn't know what the problem was. Now they've figured out that their software doesn't work under Leopard, posted a message to their support forums to the effect, and claim their "working on it". It's been 3 months.... not a peep out of them.
    They act as though Leopard just came out so they couldn't possibly be expected to have this working. Apparently they are unaware of the Apple Developer Connection which anyone can join and allows early access to software... even Leopard. ADC members had Leopard builds ages ago. Apparently Seagate/Maxtor chose not to take advantage.
    It is not ok for a backup solution vendor to not support major OS upgrades that we all saw coming more than a year back. Nor respond to it when it arrives, nor post any information for customers who only just bought the drive and don't know why it wont work. We're all in the dark.
    I've learned through this experience and realize now that Seagate/Maxtor cannot be relied upon. I'll be buying my drives from someone else from now on.

  • Tiger AB Archive not importing with Leopard AB.

    I have my address book backed up as an archive under Tiger, now I am on Leopard and I want to import my contacts, I use the import Address Book Archive from the Menu Bar, it asks if it is OK to replace all my current contacts, I click Yes, and... nothing happens!
    Anyone have any idea what the problem may be? I am using a totally clean install of Leopard, hence the need to import an Archive.
    Thanks,
    Anil.

    I have the same problem, the import of my Tiger Address Book file won't work.
    I initially started out from an Archive & Install of Leopard, and dragged the /Application Support/Address Book/ folder from the archive to the correct location on the new install.
    Nothing showed up in Address Book. I then grabbed an AB export/backup I had from Tiger and tried to import that - again nothing worked.
    Here's what Console tells me:
    *05/11/07 13.25.06 Address Book[8769] The NSManagedObject with ID:0x3d9a80 <x-coredata://6F0B0E0D-CF51-4D98-A5FB-CAB9A9BD67B6/ABCDCustomProperty/p1> has been invalidated.*
    *05/11/07 13.25.15 AddressBookManager[8808] Records in database: 2*
    *05/11/07 13.25.15 AddressBookManager[8808] Records in metadata: 1*
    *05/11/07 13.25.15 AddressBookManager[8808] Records without metadata: {(*
    "A2C25347-DAA6-4465-90CF-506AAA4B3E98:ABPerson"
    Is this an indicator that a record or entry in my old Address Book is not compatible with Leopard perhaps?
    I've heard many others have the same problem, has anyone found a fix for this? I did of course try to restart AB, even restarted my MacBook Pro but nothing.

  • I was using OS Snow Leopard and on 8/1/13 I downloaded Mountain Lion and found out it was not compatible with my HP printer (HP photosmart C5580) so I called Apple and asked how to get Mountain Lion off and Snow Leopard back on.  The Tech told me to

    I was using OS Snow Leopard and on 8/1/13 I downloaded Mountain Lion.  Then I found out it was not compatible with my HP Printer (HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one) so I called Apple support and the tech told me to erase the hard drive instead of going in the time machine.  Well I did that and then it took about three hours three days a week for about three weeks on the phone with an apple tech to get all my stuff back on my computer.  I have had trouble with my printer (won't do the scan anymore and wasn't printing on my DVDs.  Also the computer keeps freezing up when it is in the sleep mode, etc.
    When I tried to list my problem on this forum it lists your OS at the bottom and mine had Mountain Lion listed as what I was using so apparently it didn't erase it.  Want to know how to get Mountain Lion off and put my Snow Leopard on so things start working right.

    Go to the  menu/About This Mac - what OS version shows there?
    Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
    Revert to a Previous OS X
    Revert to Snow Leopard
    If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

    Hello:
    You need to contact "epost."  The issue is not an Apple issue....the epost software needs, I assume, to be updated.

  • This application is not compatible with your device and cannot be loaded

    Hi,
    I have been trying to load an application to my BB 9000 since a monday and getting this error "This application is not compatible with your device and cannot be loaded".
    As evident, I am new to BlackBerry development and got to port an existing J2ME project on BB 9000.
    To load application I am using
    - BB Dektop software 5 (latest)
    - BB Device Software 4.6 is installed (which is the version of BB 9000 as well)
    I am able to load sample JDE 4.6 applications but I build my project through same JDE and through eclipse (JDE compoment 4.6.0.19) as well but couldn't load it,
    I even signed my app since I am using net.rim.device.api.servicebook api which requries signing.
    Can someone please explain me
    1) why this error occurs in first place
    2) how to setup right envioroment to load an application on a given BB handset (BB 9000 vodafon India to be specific)
    3) How would manage this process on a single machine if I have 4-5 different BB handsets.
    I shall be thanful for any logical pointer to solution to these problems.

    Hi,
    The main problem with your genrated ALX file. I think in your ALX file contains <fileset Java="1.49" _blackberryVersion="[5.0.0)"> TAG  and remove the  _blackberryVersion attribute. Then it will work.
    So your final ALX file contains
    <loader version="1.0">
        <application id="App">
            <name >
                App1
            </name>
            <description >
            </description>
            <version >
                1.0.0
            </version>
            <vendor >
                Vim
            </vendor>
            <copyright >
                Copyright (c) 2010
            </copyright>
            <fileset Java="1.49">
                <directory >
                    5.0.0
                </directory>
                <files >
                    App.cod
                </files>
            </fileset>
        </application>
    </loader>
    Even thought it is not installed then make sure that your application may not delete from your device. Select the application and click on delete button in Desktop manager.
    Still u didnt slove the problem  then insted of
     <directory >
                    5.0.0
        </directory>
    replace as
     <directory >
      </directory>

    i have a htc wildfire, and if i try to install firefox from android market place it says that my device is not compatible with firefox. how can i install it ?

    According to a random website... the HTC Wildfire S uses a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor. This processor unfortunately does not support the full ARM version 7 instruction set, so Firefox cannot run on it.
