Device Central CS5.0.1 - Update Failed

Hi
Over the last week or so there has been an update for Device Central CS5.0.1 but when I run Application Manager to updateDevice Central CS5.0.1 it fails.
There are no clues as to why it has failed, other recent updates for Photoshop, Illustrator etc where successfulI.
I am running Windows 7 and CS5
Any help in sorting this out would be appreciated and BTW how do I contact Adobe Support?

I am also having the same problem using Win 7 and Photoshop Extended CS5.
I continued to get the 'no issues found' when running the Adobe Support Advisor, until I went into preferences of ASA and changed the option under the second section called "Hide Inspecting Option Dialog" from the default 7-days to "All Logs".  Once I did that, it indicated that it had found issues and the issues log would be sent to Adobe.  Some progress, at least.
But what really irks me is the fact that the Adobe Updater continues to show I need the update!  I don't use Device Central but I can't get rid of the reminder to install the update.  I guess it is payback for using the default installation process when I installed CS5!
I also read the message thread in the link above, but like another user, I didn't understand what the fix was (without reinstalling the whole product, that is).

    Hi Eric,
    CS5 Help is usually located at /usr/<username>/Library/Preferenecs/chc.487...../Local Store/Help folder.
    CS6 help is usually downloaded to the shared location, unless it is restricted. In that case the above folder may be used for downloading help.
    Yes, the offline content setting in Adobe Help Manager, will work for both CS5 and CS6 help and help clients.
    'Expired Status' usually refers to the state when local content goes stale, and there is new offline content available on Adobe.com servers. Yes, a user may click on Download/Update button to update the expired content from Adobe Help Manager.
    Regarding the CS5 product help launch, I will need some more information to provide a reply.
    1. Which product and version of CS5 is the customer facing problem with.
    2. What is the status of help downloaded for the same product (CS5 or CS6 in Adobe Help Manager)
    3. Is the user able to see downloaded help in the above mentioned folders

  • Adobe device central cs5 has stopped working

    I am using cs5 on windows 7. When I tried to browse for new devices using Browse Devices, the progress window
    displayed "processing 0 from 587" and then the window with the above title popped up and just prompted me to
    close the program.
    I noticed that the Devices options were all greyed out and not selectable.
    I tried reinstalling the whole CS5 suite but the problem still exist.
    Anybody can help me with this?

    you could try deleting the cache in your user folder ( .... AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Device Central CS5 ) by deleting (or renaming) the whole "Adobe Device Central CS5" folder and then restarting Device Central.
    If you are interested (we definitely are ), we wouldn't mind having a look at your user folder to be able to investigate what caused the problem, that is if our suggestion does solve your problem.

    If you are using Help 》updates, it is outdated. You can however go to Product Updates on the Adobe.com website and download your updates there. I am not at my desk b<t when I get back, I'll get the links unless someone else can do that sooner.

  • Adobe Device Central CS5.5

    Hi everybody,
    I installed Adobe Master Collection suite on to my Mac OS 10.6.8. When I click on the Device Central icon I get the following error message: "The localized resource files for this application could not be loaded. Please reinstall or repair the application and try." Can anybody help me out as I'm puzzled, everything else such as Dreamweaver etc works no problem, so I'm puzzled as to know why this doesn't work?

    I don't know if you answered this for yourself by now but the answer is yes, you do have phone profile available in CS5. Just click on the Browse workspace or go to Window > Device Library.

  • Uninstalling Device central cs5

    Okay I just installed a couple of trials of the new adobe dreamweaver/flash/after effects cs5.5 programs and i still have old support software (extension manager cs5, device central cs5 and extended script cs5, media encoder cs5). So basically i have cs5 and cs5.5 versions of those, which is doing nothing but wasting disk space. I uninstalled the old cs5 versions already, why aren't those going with them?

    Have you tried the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool ?

    Hi guys,
    I have so many problems - while trying to develop an iphone app.
    I do not have a license at this moment so i m stuck in Device Central CS5.
    It is behaving strange, two problems below -
    1) Listen to touch event... only TOUCH_BEGIN fires!
    TOUCH_MOVE, TOUCH_END, doesnt fires at all - in Device Central CS5, regardless of how i tap on the screen like crazy.
    Only TOUCH_BEGIN fires. why?
    2) GESTURE_SWIPE event not firing.
    I can listen to GESTURE_ZOOM and GESTURE_ROTATE successfully (again, in device central), but GESTURE_SWIPE is not firing...
    why?
    p/s:Is there any other better/more responsive forum to discuss flash+cs5+iphone developement?

    It has been my experience that these items are very difficult to test in Device Central due to the simulation aspect. I have been doing my own tests where I write something and test it on my device to see if it really works or not, which I realize is not an answer. If you want me to look over your code, you can contact me.
    I think this forum is pretty good with answering questions. The knowledge level of many of the participants here is quite high, and the advice is correct.
    There are other Adobe forums that deal specifically with code, which might be another source for you.

  • Device Central CS5 proxy

    Are there any future plans or current workarounds for Device Central CS5 to use my computer's proxy settings to access the online deveice library? I am interested in the phone skins, the one thing the download does not include.
    I have read the support article about allowing direct internet traffic to the library, are there any other solutions?

    I just had a discussion in a pevious thread, there it appeared to be some firewall settings blocking the download of online devices. If it is a similar situation, then the workaround would be to connect to another network and download the online device library.

  • Problems with Flash Professional CS5 and Device Central CS5

    I have Adobe CS5 Web premium, Windows 7 64-bit.  (All updates on both)
    My problem is that when I press create on Device Central it doesn't set up the flash document specs for the particular device I am trying to build an app for.  It does the same thing when I try to create a new Adobe Device Central document in flash.  However when I try and create mobile documents for photoshop, illustrator or fireworks it works fine.  It is just when I try and create one for flash.
    Any suggestions?

    I realize this is an old thread, but I am having the same problem. In Device Central CS 5.5, I first selected Browse and dragged the HTC Droid Incredible, Motorola Droid 2, and Motorola Droid X to the Test Devices pane. Then I selected Motorola Droid 2 and clicked the Create button. At this point, the three devices that I added are grayed out, and the New Document pane says "To start, please select device(s) in the 'Test Devices' panel." The Motorola Droid 2 is still selected in the Test Devices panel, but as I said, it is grayed out.
    What am I msising?

    I have a CS5 Master Collection Student Teacher Edition installed on a Mac Pro, which is licensed, registered, and works perfectly. I recently purchased a Mac Book Pro running OS 10.9.2 which I installed the entire Master Suite Collection on with no issues during the install. I use Photoshop mostly and have not had any issues using it over the past week since the installation. I noticed that the Adobe Application Manager Icon had 11 updates which I have tried to install multiple times over the past week and receive the below.     I found this in another thread. I think it will help you. You have to download the updates manually, but it works for me.

    1. CS5is very old. There have been three new versions since then.
    2. CS5 is finished. You cannot buy it. So to download it now as a new customer is useless.
    3. That is an update, for existing customers with the software already, not the hole thing. So the message is right.

    That is correct Dancingjewel.  Migrating/transferring/copying Adobe applications is not supported and often leads to unexpected behavior.  To resolve this you will want to attempt to completely remove the current installations utilizing the CC Cleaner Tool and then reinstall.  If you need a fresh copy of the installation files they are available at Other downloads.

    I've been attempting to install Adobe CS5.5 Web Premium on Lion over the past few days with no success.
    When the installer reaches "Adobe Device Central CS5.5" (Approx 15%), the total time remaining shoots up to 2 hours and eventually just freezes.

    I do not know if this will fix the installer issue you are having with CS5 Web Premium, but it worked for a freezing CS5 InDesign install.
    Reboot into safe mode (hold the shift key down till the grey bar shows up at the bottom of the display) then try the install.
