Device control panel message fading

the menu on the device control panel of my HP 6500 all-in-one is disappearing. You can tell the selections are appearing, however, I just can't read them and I don't know all of the steps by heart. I've tried restarting, unplugging, everything. Nothing jogs it back to working order.

after researching numerous posts with this same problem and trying a couple of suggested corrective tips, an HP expert said the only thing left to do was to replace the printer. That sucks but I'm still using it anyway. It's just real inconvenient.

  • Printer prints but display says Communication lost (device - control panel); Turn off then on.

    HP Color LaserJet CM3530fs
The printer is printing when asked to do so by a computer but the display says:
    Error
Communication lost (device <->  control panel); Turn off then on.
The orange attention light is illuminated and the display is always lit and shows the statement above.
It does not improve when switched off and on or power disconnected for long periods or pushing reset button at rear of unit.
Embedded web server works normally and thinks that all is ok.
Buttons on control panel do nothing.  eg. I cannot photocopy or scan.
The printer is about 2 years old but gets very light use in a family home.
    Please help
    Thank you.

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!
You can find the Commercial Laserjet board here:

This should be your printers support page.   Please click on the links and follow what HP has set up for troubleshooting to see if we can't get it back up and running.  You may have to read most of the links and steps to see what works.  Let us know.

  • CS6 will not accept my condensed mic stating; 'the sampole rates of the audio input and output do not match.  Audio cannot be recorded until this is corrected.  Use the appropriate operating system or audio device control panel to adjust the sample rates

    !

The first things we need to know in order to be able to help are what are your operating system and audio device?
Also the FAQ Setting the Sample Rate in Windows Vista and 7 may help.

  • Dazzle Hollywood DV-Bridge/iMovie no device control

Does anyone know why iMovie gives a "no device control" error message while importing from the Dazzle AV/DV converter? It will import DV for about 1 minute then disconnect and flash "no device control" then reconnect and you can import for another 30 seconds or so......

I get the SAME error since I upgraded to Tiger. I loose device control of a datavideo DN-100. Once I loose device control, the device freezes and has to be rebooted. Disconnect times vary depending on what I am dooing in the computer. To temporarily "solve" the issues I am using two DAC-100 converters: one to convert to analog and the second to convert back to digital...since there is no "play" control in the converter it captures the clip but I have to operate the player manually and also loose DV break points etc.
I strongly suspect an issue with Tiger drivers since it affects Final Cut and iMovie. I had control with 10.3.9 HELP!

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Does it go through properly this time?

I downloaded the iCloud control panel on my PC but can't sign in - message says "This apple ID is valid but not an iCloud account. I've tried the account set up several times but it keeps just spinning me in circles, asking me to sign in and then I get the same message again. This is getting frustrating and I really don't seem to be able to get help. I can't contact customer support because I have a PC and there is a serial number of an apple device required. Can anyone help please?

You can't setup (create) an iCloud account using a PC. You must use an Apple device, a Mac or an iPhone etc. Once you have created an account you can sign in from your PC.

  • *FIXED* No sound and 'No Audio Device' in Control Panel. *FIX

I?m having a problem with my sound. Basically all I get is a system sound, which means no sounds from itunes but the error prompt sounds still play. I?m tempted to say that this is a detection issue because of several things:
-First, when looking in the ?sounds and audio devices? in the control panel I get grayed out selections and a ?no audio device?.
-Secondly, when running the directX diagnostic tool (typing ?dxdiag? in the ?run? window) I get several troubling indications. First under device I have no manufacturer or product ID. Second under drivers I have (copied from dxdiag text file):
    Driver Name: ctaud2k.sys
    Driver Version: 5.2.000.96 (English)
    Driver Attributes: Final Retail
    WHQL Logo'd: Yes
    Date and Size: 8//2006 4:45:38, 499584 bytes
    Other Files:
Seems hunky-doorey but then I have a note at the bottom that reads:
Sound Test Result: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x88780078 (No driver)
I have seen another similar post that seemed to have the same problem, but they didn?t provide much information and the fix was to pull out the audio card, run start up, turn it off, and then put it back in and run start up. If this is what needs to be done, could I have a picture or something of what the sound card looks like?
This problem started when I tried to update my sound card and since then my sound has been? possessed? or prone to working at sometimes and then (most of the time)failing at others.
Here is the dxdiag.txt file without the lengthy directShow filters and directx components:

I found that once you reinstall your sound card you need to make sure you hook everything back up correctly.
basically all you need to do is run a start up with your sound card out ofyou computer and then re-run start up with the card back in.

  • I have an Apple ID and downloaded Icloud control panel for PC.  EVERYTIME I try to sign in, I get message that says "Cannot Sign Up. This Apple ID is valid but is not an icloud account."  Help!!!!

How the heck to I establish an ICloud account?  I've downloaded the Control Panel twice and still cannot get past sign-in.  I get a message that says that my Apple ID is valid but is not an ICloud account.  I thought my Apple ID was supposed to get me into Icloud to share streamed photos... doesn't it?   What do I do now?

To use iCloud, you must first set it up on an iOS device or a Mac.

  • Audio device not detected in control panels

+Audio device not detected in control panelsa I've been using my X-Fi Platinum with Windows 7 64-bit fine for around a month now. Recently I encountered a problem where I couldn't record any sound including talking on Teamspeak. I decided to reinstall the drivers, so I cleaned them out with a driver cleaner tool, and reinstalled. Everything works fine again, but none of the applications will work anymore. They all give an error message about not being able to detect the device. This includes AutoUpdate, Creative Audio Control Panel, and Creative Console Launcher. The card appears to be working correctly everywhere else: Device manager, teamspeak works fine now, windows recorder, guitar rig (guitar amp emulator), dx diag, all working well.
I also tried installing Daniel_K's driver pack to no avail.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Glorfindel

    /Hi Glorfindel,
Did?you?reinstall the applications from the installation cd?
Download and install the latest applications from our support site to see if it helps, click on the link and select your product. Note that some of the applications are not available on Windows 7.

No error message, the option of uninstall does not come up when I choose MobileMe Control Panel in the Control Panel
If you have a Change option that may lead to Uninstall as one of the choices. See also note 2 of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

  • TS3988 When setting up the icloud control panel. I get a message saying unexpected error.

When I try to set up the control panel on my windows vista computer, I get a message saying there was an unexpected error when I try and sync my mail.

You must create an iCloud account using a Mac, or an IOS device. Once you have done that your PC can sign in and use it.

  • Audio device not detected by Creative Audio Control Panel

I cannot get creative audio control panel to work, I keep getting an error message saying the audio device supported by this application is not detected. I have had this problem using xp, vista and now windows 7. It seems to work after a reformat and clean install but will eventuslly stop working again for some reason.
I have read a few posts with people having the same problem but cannot find a solution.
It is getting quite annoying having to reformat all the time just to temporarily?fix this so if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

I also looked at the details of the driver and it shows a whole buch of driver, even two unsigned. Are all these neccesary? Maybe I have to many old drivers conflicting?

Also the volume mixer seems empty, although it shows the playback device when pointing over the square, I can't select it.

  • I can't find biometric device in device manager OR control panel

I recently got a HP Probook 450 G2 running Windows 7 x64, and it came with a built-in fingerprint scanner. HP Client Manager was also pre-installed, and what really caught my attention was its fingerprint function. Although, every time I opened the function, a message saying "The fingerprint reader is not connected. Connect the reader" popped up at the bottom. After doing a bit of research on why it wouldn't work, I found out that it had something to do with biometric systems, which I attempted to locate on device manager AND control panel, but no luck. Did I do something wrong?

So, I can't do much with the little fingerprint window? (Sorry for the bad english.)
    Hi,
You need a sensor, otherwise window is just a hole. Please try Finger orint software:
        ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48509.exe
    then
       ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61001-61500/sp61498.exe
    Good luck.
