Device Disconnect Sound Plays Sporadically

Hello my Toshiba Satellite L675-57115, Windows 7 (browser Internet explorer 9.0.8112.16421) plays the device disconnect sound randomly while I'm surfing the Internet, with no seemly pattern that I am able to discern. At times the sound will play several times back to back and then it will be a few minutes before it plays again.
I'm not sure if this is related but when insert addresses (in yahoo mail) is clicked it does nothing. It will not go to the addresses. It also will not go to some sites that have addresses within a site when addresses are clicked on. When the address is clicked on it does nothing, but "open in a new tab" will work.
I would appreciate any help/advice from the knowledgeable Toshiba Forum posters.

I have no idea what could cause that, Doc, but if it were me and no problem was being caused, I would right click the speaker icon in the System Tray (AKA Notification Area), click Sounds, select Device Disconnect, click on the down arrow and select None, click Apply and OK out.

Laptop keeps making device connect and Device disconnect sound.

My windows 8 laptop(IdeaPad U310) keeps making this device connect and disconnect noises.
I have hooked my laptop to a external display. These noises start when the display turns off after being idle for sometime.
My Event log is filled with even IDs 9020 and 9009 alternating every minute. I couldn't find any information online.

Welcome to the Forums.
The Desktop Window Manager is a part of Windows 8 that manages the aero effects (i.e. Aero Peek, Window Coloration, etc.). From the screenshots that you posted, it looks like a problem with DWM itself as discussed in this microsoft article.
Can you try to:
1. Run Windows Updates to get the latest patch and bug fixes for your OS.
2. Update your display driver (if you have Intel HD 4000 Graphics, get it here)
3. Disable visual effects and reboot.

HT5517 When im doing an airplay how come only audio no video on the TV? and its showing to my iphone this device can only play sounds to airplay!

When i'm doing airplay ther is no video only audio! and from my iphone its say this device can only play sound to airplay!!!

what video are you trying to stream via airplay?
currently only video from youtube app or ipod app is supported.
any other app will only stream the audio.

When i login to my account and it takes me to the desktop, the error sound plays, then the rainbow wheel appears, and finder immediately stops responding

It started yesterday when i was listening to itunes when all of a sudden the music stopped playing and i had to hold down the power button to shut it down and reboot, and then, when i logged back in, the error sound played, and then finder opened up, but the window was grayed out like i had another app selected, bu i didn't, so i tried to open up itunes and the icon started bouncing and then it stopped midbounce and i had to reboot again because finder wasnt responding. now when i log in, the error sound plays, and finder immediately stops working and then i have to reboot again because i cant click anything and i cant properly relaunch finder. please help

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Closed-lid mode USB devices disconnect randomly

I just recently connected my MacBook Pro to my Samsung DLP HDTV and started running it in closed-lid mode so my TV is the primary/only display. I also have an external hard drive (USB), external mouse (wireless with USB toggle) and the new Apple bluetooth keyboard.
The problem I have isn't entering the closed-lid mode. But once in closed-lid mode (after a short period of time) all of my USB devices disconnect and then reconnect. I know this because I get an error saying that my hard drive was removed improperly (please eject before disconnecting, etc) and I also get a message from my mouse software saying that my mouse has been disconnected. But then they reconnect themselves (hard drive shows up again on desktop and mouse software informs me that the mouse is present again).
Has anyone had this problem before where USB devices disconnect in the closed-lid mode? I just upgraded to Leopard (formatted the drive and started from scratch). I never tried this within Tiger so I don't have that for a reference. This is really annoying because I have my entire music collection on the external hard drive and it just stops playing when this happens and I have to restore the path to my music collection within iTunes' preferences (it defaults back to ~/Music/iTunes/ when it figures out that the hard drive is no longer there).
The strange thing about this is that when I don't run in closed-lid mode this never happens. I'll be more than happy to provide more details if needed. I greatly appreciate your help.

i appear to have the same problem under Vista (via Bootcamp) on MBP (2007). i close the lid, and 5-20min later i hear the sound a USB device makes when it disconnects, and a minute or 5 later it reconnects. i don't actually have any USB devices plugged in, but there are several components in the MBP that are connected internally via USB (DVD drive, etc).
what's almost as annoying is that the LCD backlight will come back on of its own accord, even though the MBP's been idle for more than the LCD/backlight time-out period. after the next idle timeout it turns off, only to turn back on againa while later. i see this under OSX & Vista.

Disconnect air play?

I've got a macbook pro 2012. Just got a new Sony receiver with air play. My son tried connecting my macbook to air play. He says blue tooth was not showing the receiver. He tried turning the receiver on/off, pairing, but said it didn't seem to work, never entered a code at all, says he just gave up. However, later on my other kid was watching Youtube on tv and my son was going to watch Youtube on the macbook. It automatically connected the mac to the receiver via air play and started playing. Since then, my problem is that air play keeps automatically connecting and at near full volume. Anything with audio on the mac will automatically BLAST through the home stereo if the receiver is on. We have gone into sound settings and checked "Mute" for air play, but somehow, it keeps ending up back at full volume which is really getting annoying. Also, in order to do much of anything lately on the mac, we have to turn the receiver off. If we forget, we get a loud blasting reminder! We haven't been able to watch something on tv and the mac simultaneously. I'd really appreciate any help with how to disconnect air play or how to have it work better! Thanks in advance!

On your iPad if you swipe up from the bottom to reveal the Control Centre there should be an icon here which represents AirPlay, but if you do not have an Airplay device this icon will not be visible.

I don't know if this will work but it's worth a try. I wonder if somehow you ended up with a short inside of your iPad. Give the things below are trying to see if that helps. Good luck.
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Sound play during keypress

Hi all,
I have a sound loaded that I would like to have smoothly play
while a key is held down.
So I have...

This is part of a game loop, and I have tried a number of
things with the eSoundComplete function too (re-checking status of
the up arrow and re-launching the play() if it's still down, etc.).
The idea is that while the player holds down the up arrow,
the engine sound will play. The engine sound is only about .5
seconds long and is loopable.
Currently if the player holds down the arrow key the sound
will play, stop, play, stop, etc. So there is a little delay
between each...like it's making a skipping sound.
Does anyone know how I can have the sound play as a seemless
loop *only* while a key is held down?

make sure you have the recording input set correctly in your settings (look under Device options)
however your tv tuner is connected to your soundcard (eg Line-IN) then this should be set accordingly

Headphones usage on Satellite A660-BT2G22 -sound plays out of the speakers

When I plug headphones into my Satellite A660-BT2G22 Laptop the sound plays out of the speakers and the headphones.
There has to be a way for me to make the sound play only through the headphones and I would really love that because I am going off to college soon and will have a roommate and I will want to listen to my own music and stuff and not force him to hear my stuff all the time.

This notebook model is not known to me but check control panel and option for some audio manager there. On notebooks with Realtek sound card there is Realtek HD Audio manager.
Check all options there, especially small folder symbol placed at the right top side. When you click on it connector settings window will be open. Enable auto popup dialog.
Now, every time when headphones will be connected you can choose headphone as only device you want to use.
Please check it out.

Flash in AW sound plays but no picture

I've googled for this but haven't found any definitive
answer.
I have a subroutine which plays flash files through the flash
xtra. It works fine but for the 3 files in which there has been an
mp3 embedded (to time the animation to the sound) - the sound plays
fine but i get one line of the picture only near the bottom and it
doesn't play the anim.
I have tried the same procedure with a fresh file - just
having the flash xtra and loading the anim into it directly with
"browse..." but with the same result. The anims play fine from the
media folder tey are located in, playing in Firefox or IE.
Any suggestions? Using Flash MX, AW 6.5 and Mp3s.

When you view the Flash file as standalone ... outside a
browser, then
right-click and Show All, what do you see?
Wild guess ... maybe you have something off at the top of the
Flash movie
that's pushing it down the screen???

Hi,
I have completed a new game that runs great on Android - created using Flash Builder 4.5 and Flash Professional. I got all our Apple stuff out of the way and then also compiled for iOS. Then I deployed to my son's iPod Touch 5 via TestFlightApp.com. He installed and ran and we get the sound but no screen. I'd really like to finish debugging and then deploy this app for both droid and iOS at the same time (in the next few days). Can someone tell me why the SWF's that are the UI of the app are playing sound but not showing up on screen? How can I fix this problem?
BTW, please forgive the fact that the site is under dev (will be completed and polished before go live), but you can get some idea of what the game is about at our web site: headshotgame.com.

Ooops, spoke too soon...
After we recompiled all our FLA's to SWF's and added them as assets to our Flash Builder project, it did not work again (SWF sound plays but no graphics display). So, we went back to the earlier test solution and it did not work either?!?
Finally, we compiled using the quick compile selection of Flash Builder. The intro screen showed up all the sudden! But, none of the buttons work and you can't navigate to any other of the screens. Sadly, this is not answered and I don't know whether this belongs in the Flash Builder or the Flex forum as I don't know what is causing the problem.
All of this works perfectly on Android. Same code on iOS does not work. Perhaps it's the fact that I'm testing on an iPod touch with iOS5?
I have people waiting to test this app and help me get it live but I can't seem to get it to run on iOS. Please let me know if I can provide any other info to help you help me.

A summary of our problem:
We have multiple SWF's that are compiled in Flash Pro that make up a larger mobile app that we built in Flash Builder.
We add the Flash Pro SWF's to Flash Builder as assets of the project and use the Navigator to move between them with event listeners bubbling up from the buttons that are in the SWF's.
There are many SWF's - most screens have multiple SWF's on them.
All of this works very well on Android.
The same project compiled for iOS creates an IPA file but when the IPA file is deployed to the device, none of the screens show up but the sound plays.
There is only one way to get a (the first) screen to show on the device which is to set Flash Builder packaging method to "fast". Yet, getting the screen to show is useless as it won't allow you to navigate (and the SWF behaves differently in other ways compared to Android).
I am testing on iPod and will recruit other iOS device users to test as well. The iPod I am testing on is an iPod touch with iOS 5.

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to 12.1 yet? If not, please do so by using an opened project's Help Menu/Update.

1. Properties of source media (including file extension and brand/model/settings of camera that recorded the video).
2. Is problem restricted to one particular file in one particular project? What happens if you start a new project? What is the
duration and size of the project when performance is slow and freezing sets in? What are you doing in the program when this happens?
3. Using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
4. Does problem exist if antivirus and firewall(s) are disabled?
5. Please describe computer environment, including dating on video card/graphics card driver version. Did you install the program to the
default Local Disk C? Where are the Scratch Disks directed and how much free space there?
Lots more questions, but let us start here and then decide what next based on your reply.

On AIR 3.9 the background task execution issue has been solved but when we click the power button on ios devices the background sound play goes stop until we unlock the device.
So Dear Adobe Please fix this issue .

Answers can only be as helpful as the details provided. And none were given here. It is likely an issue with the device settings, and or a conflict with the type of audio encoding used in the video and the device(s) [tv, stero, amp, etc.] actually playing the audio.
