Device driver ref cd will not install on win xp

I am trying to install Labview 8.0 device drive reference cd on my win xp computer.  Labview 8.0 installed fine.  The device driver reference cd starts up, says it is looking for win explorer 4.0 or newer, then gives a message to go to microsoft to install win explorer and stops the installation.  I have version 6.0.2900 of explorer installed.  Any suggestions on how to get around this issue?
Please email response to [email protected]  Thanks.

Hi jworkley-
Have you had success in installing the same device driver CD on other machines?  There is the possibility that your installer CD is corrupt, but all of the drivers are available for download from ni.com.  Which drivers do you need specifically?  For example, NI-DAQmx 8.0 and NI-VISA 3.4.1 are available for seperate download and installation.  This method will be quicker and will help you avoid installing software you wouldn't otherwise need.
Hopefully this helps-

  • What can I do about driver updates that will not install because of an "unknown error".

I have an HP p6530 Pavilion that is taking a while to startup. Not real long but longer then it should. I tried to install driver updates from Intel for the Chipset and RAID but when I download and install it will not finish the install because of an "unknown error" and then setup exits. I could really use advice from anyone that can help.

Have you tried to disable your virus protection and any running programs in the system tray? Turn off any programs that are not necessary before you run the updates.  Make sure you run the updates as administrator (right click on the driver install program and click on run as administrator).

  • Itunes 12.1.0.71 will not install on win 7 error 1053

I have a BIG problem...cannot install 12.1.0.71...The install gets about 90% thru and then I get the error....Windows could NOT start Apple Mobile Device Services error 1053...The Service did not respond......after trying all the solutions I found online I called Apple support and paid 99$(which was not refunded) and two of their techs...the supposed top level Cathy...was unable to help....after two hours of work....they can remotely see and guide me as to what to try and it was mostly what was published online at apple support re how to really uninstall Itunes properly which we did about 6 times...and still it would not get past the "windows could not startt AMDS and errors 1053 and service did not respond and error 7 win error 193 and itunes helper not installed correctly....those later errors occur when you ignore that AMDS did not start...etc....
So I am kind of stuck....
Other things we tried....Disable Norton....Clean the registry using Norton Utilities....No other hidden Viruses around all clear on that....Win 7 totally updated....used the windows service that checks just about every kind of possible bug in system from the MS site...no help there...
In the whole process I lost the ability to restore to an earlier version that worked that disappeared off the restore calendar.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • LabVIEW 2010 will not install on Win XP SP3

I have made several attempts to install LabVIEW 2010 on Win XP SP3. I already have LabVIEW 2009 installed and working.
For each attempt I accept the default install options and do not put in a serial number. The first attempt got stuck at 2% complete and did not change for 30 minutes. No error messages. I cancelled the install and tried the install again from setup.exe.
The next two attempts stall at 0% blinking forever. The 4th attempt made it to 18% before it stalled for more than 30 minutes. The next two attempts stalled at 0% repeating and would not cancel. I had to terminate them with Task Manager.
Why won't LabVIEW 2010 install without stalling before than 30 minutes? Why does it not spit out an error message instead of just stalling? How do I know why it won't install?  How do I fix it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had the same problem. The 2010 install was very slow on my XP SP3  PC. I do not why, but it took very very long time to get past 2% of the setup. But then the install process speeded up. So just let the computer take the time that is needed. It will eventually install. I used the trail version download from NI
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • Mac Audio Driver (for Screenflow) will not install

I have downloaded a program called Screenflow, which records video and audio of my desktop. It used to work fine with my MacBook Pro but it doesn't work with my new iMac (Lion). The program is supposed to record the computer audio, and when I try to enable it, it asks me to accept it installing the audio driver for it. However, when I click install and enter the passport, it says it is unable to install it. What can I do?
    Thank you very much.

Thank you. By realizing I was able to install the updates individually from the apple website, I discovered that one of the updates apple was trying to install was Airport Utility 6.1, even though I am running Snow Leopard. It apparenly requires 10.7.3 and up. The software update console doesn't seem to recognize this in its search for updates. Thanks again.  -ss

  • Lightroom 4.3 Will not install on Win 7 64 bit (As previously with 4.2, 4.1 etc!!)

I am unable to install the 4.3 update. The installer runs, extracts ("Extracting: Adobe_Lightroom_64.msi...") and then when the bar is complete the popup closes and nothing else happens. I can't beleive Adobe PERSISTS in sending out this BROKEN installer!!
This has happened in each of the 4.x updates. I was able to solve it previously with some helpful post about opening some folder in AppData I think and immediately clicking on a file for the fraction of a second when it appears in order to open it and finish the installation. However having scoured the posts I am no longer able to find that helpful post. It is particularly difficult becasue there are SO MANY posts abut this problem! Why doesn't Adobe fix it? I have a lot of software on this machine and LR is the ONLY one which has an installation problem.
Can anybody please direct me to the post which has the steps to fix this problem?
And can ADOBE PLEASE FIX THE INSTALLER!!?

I don't know how to answer that question, Rob, or why I would be able to. Obviously people will have different configutrations. It really just points to the question I am asking. I can only assume Adobe hasn't tested it thoroighly enough and is not making any effort to find out why, which suggests to me they don't really care enough about their users to bother. This issue has been raised often enough and nothing has been done.

  • Print driver will not install

I am hoping someone can help me (new to these discussions)
I have a mac pro and I accidentally deleted my printer. I downloaded a new driver however it will not install. It unstuffed... I get the install screen but when I click on it, it does not run. It actually asked me what app I would like to choose to run it.
I have no clue what to do now. I have never had this happen Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

I am having similar problems. After years of successful use, about a year ago, my printer (Epson stylus Photo R300) stopped working. After much investigation, it appears my computer no longer recognizes my printer. I've followed resets, safe boots, uninstalls, reinstalls, etc. This happened so long ago, I don't recall what I was doing when it happened. I'm figuring it happened shortly after a Software Update... So far none of the fixes recommended to me have solved the problem. I've been using Epson customer support, but they've stopped responding. None of their suggestions have seemed to work either.

  • Java x64 will not install...

    Greetings,
I had JRE 6.0 Update 17 installed in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The operating system is Windows 7 64-bit. I was attempting to uninstall Update 17 and then install Update 18 (as I do with every new Java release). While uninstalling, I got an error message saying that it could not be uninstalled (this happened on the 32-bit and 64-bit versions). I saw on the Java website where they recommended using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to uninstall them, which I did. I was then able to install Update 18 32-bit without any problems and it works fine. However, I can't get Update 18 64-bit to install. When I double-click the installer, I get an hour glass for about 2 seconds, then nothing happens. i have tried redownloading and running the file 4 additional times. I even downloaded it on another PC and transferred it to my PC via a flash drive. It will not install. It's like it 'attempts' to do something, then sees the "requirements" are correct and stops. I have even tried to reinstall Update 17 64-bit, which won't install either. I have used CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller, and JavaRa. I have even manually removed registry entries and files/folders. I still can't get Java 64-bit installed?!?! Does anyone have any ideas?
    -Thanks

    More of a Unix way
But I don't think the repair permissions process is of much help on this occasion (except possibly for the original post?) I did it and got the usual long list of permission problems (see thread 1965105) which have nothing to do with anything in this case.
This Java update seems to be causing problems for many people. There are at least three threads on it now. One of the answers says it's a defective download and the correct approach (as we've found) is to update manually.

  • Driver for Mobile device will not install with installer

Uninstalled EVERYTHING to do with iTunes/Apple/updater. Reinstalled several times and the mobile device will not install.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK. I HAVE NO PHONE SERVICE.

Hi jngs & amyjo - have u sorted problem? I'm having exactly the same problem with my nano.During first installation of software, would not recognise new hardware when connecting ipod to the pc for formatting. I've uninstalled and reinstalled using both CD that come with nano and also latest software update available on itunes...but still will not recognise hardware when nano connected to pc. Have tried with several 2.0 ports - these r all ok cause i've connected other devices to them and they work fine. I've tried connecting nano to a friend's pc - he all ready uses a ipod (not nano) - same problem "does not recognise new hardware". The usb lead is fine as the nano charges when connected to port. Am planning to take nano back to Apple store in Blue Water (outside London) nxt wk. Why is it that things don't work even when you follow instructions to the letter!!!

  • HT204095 Apple Mobile Device USB Driver will not install

I've followed the steps to stop and restart Apple Mobile Device Service.  I've deleted 3rd party software I thought would conflict.  I uninstalled/reinstalled ITunes several times, but it will not recognize my iPod.

The section Install missing components may help if a particular component will not install when using the main iTunes setup program.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version, or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Itunes will not install. I get the error message "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\com.apple.IE.client_main.dll     Verify that you have access to that directory."

Itunes will not install. I get the error message "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\com.apple.IE.client_main.dll     Verify that you have access to that directory."

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • 10.6 Will not install from disc to a S.M.A.R.T. verified, zero-wiped, manufacturer's original, internal hard-drive.

I recently wiped my main drive using zero-data process.  It seems to be "okay" when verifying its integrity.  It is also "verified" according to S.M.A.R.T.
10.6 from Apple's Installation Disc will not install.  It makes 20 estimated minutes remaining, then tells me it cannot copy necessary files.  Is my superdrive defective out-of-box and also a year later or is my installation disc a defect?  Online communities fail to provide any other causes.
By the way, using Recovery HD to download and install Lion is a failure.  It tried three times, each ending in failure, unable to verify said package.  Apple, try harder.
    [email protected]

I think my superdrive might be defective.  It ratchets an awful lot while trying to copy necessary files for installing Snow Leopard.  I am taking to a Genius Bar, running a hardware test consistently gets locked up.  Here is more on that!:
Inserted retail Hardware Test disc, booted holding D.
Probing took 12 hours and counting, I hard reset my computer.
(Suggested by others) I unplugged my Logitech mouse and, wow!, probing completed.
During pass one of mem test, it locked up showing no progress for an hour-- hard reset!
Apple's Hardware Test was a total failure on my end.  An ethernet connection to a router and my Apple keyboard were the only things connected to my 2011 iMac while booting to this hardware test!  Bummer!  I trust my Apple team will have better diagnostic equipment.
Can Apple Hardware Test even determine if an iMac's superdrive is bad?
