  • Scanner error 22 with HP Laserjet M1210 MFP

Hello - I have an HP Laserjet M1210 MFP (fax, printer and scanner all in one) that has been working until yesterday.  Now I am getting an error message "Scanner Error 22".  I have tried to unpulg and replug the machine after a few minutues multiple time and restore factory default.  But it still show the same error.  I cannot make copies.  I am frustrated and not sure what else to do.  Please help!

The document scannere is having issues.  Could be the ribbon connection, the scanner motor or the scanner assembly is having a hard time moving along the rail.  If the unit is under warranty, bring in for service.  If out of warranty all I can suggest is do a google search for the service manual and look for instructions for removing the scanner bezel and remove it and see if you can slide the scanner assembly back and forth and make sure it is seated correctly on the rail.  I have had a couple of similar models where the scanner had sort of come off the track and removing the bezel and reseating solved the problem.  Hope that is your issue and not a defective part in the scanner assembly.

  • HP LJ M4555 MFP no Device Utilization Data Collection in Web Jetadmin 10.2.77156 (SR6)

Recently added three newer HP LaserJet M4555 MFPs to our Web Jetadmin Data Collection for reporting.  The Data Collection for Accessory Inventory, Supply Utilization, Device Inventory and Event Log History all worked - they return a Collection Status of Collection Succeeded.
However the Device Utilization returns a Collection Status of Device Error (not very helpful).
    We're using
    Web Jetadmin 10.2.77156 (SR6)

    http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01894187/c01894187.pdf
    All three MFPs are
    Firmware Datecode: 20121208
    Firmware Revision: 2201057_231936
I couldn't see anything flagged in this doco as to why it might not work:

We have several older M4555 MFPs that we are collecting this data from successfully - I've tried to compare settings and can't see anything different standing out.  They do have older firmware.
    Firmware Datecode: 20110225

    and
    Firmware Datecode: 20111217
    Firmware Revision: 2131305_192067
Any MFP with any of these firmware revisions report the data fine.
Does anyone know if there is a particular setting that is required to allow the Device Utilization Data Collection?
Or if there are any known incompatibilites with this firmware revision?

  • LaserJet M1319f MFP Installation issue on Windows 7

Dear HP support team and community members,
I'm currently trying to install HP LaserJet M1319f MFP connected by USB on Lenovo Q190 machine /Intel Core i3 processor/ running freshly installed Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit with Bulgarian language pack, all current updates, Microsoft Forefront Protection /I also tried to disable the Real-time protection/, UAC disabled, administrator account, IE 11, .NET Framework 4.5.1.
The priter was working correctly with Windows XP.
I downloaded the driver package from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=bg&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3547...
After the installation process reach the "Copying files to the hard drive" stage the installer return error Printer Software Installer stopped working.
I tried running with Administrator privileges and/or Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, but the same error occurs.
I tried Microsoft Fix It software for install/uninstall drivers too,but with no luck either.
I cleaned the cashe and temporary files around 10-15 times.
Windows update is not helping with the drivers too.
I tried to extract the files from the installer and manually add the printer and got error that the installation was not successful and below it says The file was not found /if I recall it correctly/
After that I tried HP Print and Scan Doctor software, but it displays that there is no driver installed and redirecting me to the driver download page.
I tried the Driver Wizard software too, but it returns that this model is no supported.
I tried to change the windows startup to "Selective startup" with "Load startup items" unchecked and all non-microsoft services disabled, but with no success.
Under Safe mode the install won't complete because of the Print Spooler service not running, which is running normally otherwise.
The "ntprint.inf" file is present in the "Windows\inf" folder, the registry HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Enviroments\Windows NT x86 has only Drivers and Print Processors subkeys and the registry HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors has only Local Port, Microsoft Shared Fax monitor, Standard TCP/IP Port, USB monitor and WSD port subkeys.
The folders Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and Windows\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86 are empty.
I ran sfc /scannow in cmd with administrator privileges, but there was no integrity violations.
I tried to disable the IE component, but no luck either.
So now I’m out of any ideas how to connect that **bleep** thing… I hope that someone can help me with this issue.
Currently the devices without installed driver in the Device Manager are "Hewlett-PackardHP LaserJet M1319f MFP" /Hardware IDs USBPRINT\Hewlett-PackardHP_La28A1 and Hewlett-PackardHP_La28A1/ and HP Scan /Hardware IDs USB\VID_03F0&PID_5817&REV_0100&MI_00 and USB\VID_03F0&PID_5817&MI_00/
I forgot to mention that I tried all kind of variations with these solutions with and without printer plugged in.
Thank you very much in advance for any kind of guidelines.
    Best regards,
    Ivan
P.S.: At least I think that I managed to gather all known related solutions in this topic…
    This question was solved.

    Hello Gemini02,
First thank you for your assistance!
I uninstalled the IE 11 and install IE 10, but with no success related to the driver issues. I just want to mention to those who are trying to do the same that IE 11 should be removed from Add/Remove Windows components and from Installed Updates.
As for the solutions from your post:
Solution 2: The build in troubleshooting is reporting that no driver is installed (obviously...), but is not helping much with the installation. Windows updates are not much of a help too... The device manager is finding the device, but can't install the driver. More detailed information about the devices in the Device manager you can find in the end of my first post.
I'm posting some screenshots of the issue so that you can get clearer picture of the situation.
So basically I'm downloading the official drivers from the link in my first post. I'm sure that the drivers are the correct one as I downloaded them several time to clear the possibility of technical mistake.
But when I try to install them I get the following error:

Solution 3 can't be applied to the current case as I can't install the software so I don't have what to uninstall/reinstall.
I cleared the cache and disabled all optionally installed software in msconfig as suggested, but the issue with the installer is still not resolved.
Solution 4 is not relevant as the device was working fine two days ago.
Solution 5 is difficult for implementation too as the location of the device is in some kind of rural area and it is vital for the implementation of the daily duties of the employee.
So after the failure with the solutions provided in the article I tried to extract the installer to use the drivers and manually install the printer using the file HP1319fp.ini  with the "... MFP" driver selected. I set it at new local port named USB. I'm posting the screenshot of the error i get in the end of installation:
After I press the OK button in gets in a loop by returning to the previous page.
I tried the same drivers with existing port USB001, but got the same result as with the new port.
Currently I will try to rename the SoftwareDistribution folder in case that this is kind of windows update cache issue, but don't think so... I begin to think that this device driver is somehow not compatible with the computer hardware...
Thank you and I apologize for taking your time with such issues!
    Best regards,
    Ivan

    Hello Rick,
Just as I mentioned above I'm using Microsoft Forefront Protection, but had no luck with disabling the Real-time protection - it is disabled,
    but that chanage nothing.
The downloaded driver is for Windows 7 64 bit.
I did write to HP but I still got no answer from them... I already checked that support page, but I didn't get any information corresponding
to my problem, not to mention that a lot of that page is just copy/paste from another product and it's not relevant to that model.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 - new - Device error and Cleaning cycle issues

HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 - this is a new printer a friend purchased at Staples. It connects WiFi okay and prints when prompted to but it then does a "Cleaning" cycle after every print job. It also displays "Device Error" at the same time. It has been powercycled as instructed and the error continues to reappear and the "Cleaning" cycle continues as well after each and every print job. My friend paid Staples to set up this printer to a new Acer Laptop and D-Link router he also purchased before he brought them home. He was told everything works fine .. they lied .. Laptop and router have no issues .. just the printer. The Laptop sees the printer okay and software is installed without issue. Any ideas why the "Device Error" and "Cleaning" cycle after every print job is happening? He is on the verge of taking the whole outfit back as Staples has not assisted him and instead directed him to download the manuals from HP. Any suggestions are appreciated

Have you tried a hard reset on it? I know you said you power cycled it, but a hard reset is sometimes different than what some people consider a power cycle.
Follow these steps to perform a hard reset on the printer.
    1. Press the Power button to turn on the product.
    2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
    3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    4. Wait at least 15 seconds.
    5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
    7. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the power button to turn it on.
Try that out and let me know if it helps.
    Best of luck,
    Kyle

  • HP Laserjet Pro MFP M125A " A Fatal Error Occured Preventing Product Use" on Window XP SP3

    Dear Friends,
I really need your help on this issues, recently company that i been working buy 19 Unit of HP Laserjet Pro MFP M125A printer to be install at our 19 branches. All of our branches is using Window XP SP3 and the spec is exceed the minimum requirement stated at the box of the HP Printers which means by rights, it should be no problems.
However, I sent and setup the printer at 4 branches only 1 is a success. others 3 centre is showing the same errors which is A Fatal Error Occured Preventing Product Use. I been trying to install using original CD provided by HP and driver provided at HP Support also given the same errors. The 1 Centre that OK PC spec is almost the same as the others 3 and all using default programs and software. So i dont knows what really is the problem.
This is the things i have done in hoping to successfully install the driver but WITH NO SUCCESS:
Clear temp file, disk cleanup, defragment disk and restart PC.
Reinstall Windows SP3 and restart PC.
Install basic driver only and using control panel > device and printer > add printer (Select Driver Manually). (See Pic Below)
Repair windows using original windows XP SP3 CD.
    Re-Check for USB.INF file.
    Repair Registry with reg cure.
Uninstall USB support and etc (Google), then re-install the printers.
Uninstall Antivirus, disable all startup and services.
Install using FULL DRIVER, BASIC DRIVER AND DRIVER MANUAL.
Sometime when running the installer, it will prompt the below error signature and HP installer will loading quite long and then crash, but others PC don't have this errors, it straight away to the installation menu until DETECTING PRINTER until 99% and shows errors "A Fatal Error Occured Preventing Product Use".
It seems that almost everythings i try cannot make the printer driver to be install. However, the SCAN driver is install successfully. Currently the printer only can PHOTOCOPY AND SCAN, without being able to print.
Please anyone which facing similiar issues to HELP ME. anythings i can do, to install the printer DRIVER.
    THANKS!

    Hi @gendit ,
I see that you are having issues installing several Laserjet Pro MFP M125A printers on several Windows XP computers. You are getting "A Fatal Error Occured Preventing Product Use". I can help you with this.
What version of .NetFrameworks do you have? Check Your DOTNET.
You might have to run the Windows Updates. I would update the .Netframeworks to 4.0.
I believe HP software piggy backs Internet Explorer. Should have at least Internet Explorer 6.0.
Please try these steps, most likely the wrong driver is getting installed, giving you the Fatal error.
    Disconnect the USB cable.
Uninstall the printer software from the CD.
Run the software again, immediately after connecting the USB cable, follow this document to update the driver before it errors out again. A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation.
If the issue persists, here is a document with some different steps to try.
A 'Fatal Error' (MSI error) Displays on the Computer During HP Software Installation in Windows.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a wonderful day!

  • HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP Installation Error

I have an HP Laserjet 1536dnf MFP printer which will not install.  I originally had Windows 7 OS and got the HP 1536dnf printer which installed fine.  However, I started getting the upgrade to Windows 8.1 pop-ups, which I avoided specifically.  However, I was typing on day when it poped-up to upgrade and didn't catch it in time and next thing I know we are upgrading to Windows 8.1 OS.  What I didn't notice immediately after the upgrade was that my printer began to have trouble.  So I uninstalled the printer and went to reinstall it from the disc and HP download, but it never re-installed. It always stopped at 99% and then gave a time error, something about to long to execute program timed out.  I went to HP support via chat and wasn't able to get it resovled.  However, I did somemore digging on the internt and found other people were having similar but different issue.  Long story short, the Event viewer stated faulting application is PrintIsolationHost.exe and the faulting module name is hppdcompio.dll.  What is this and is there anyway to get a newer version or replace the old dll with another one of the same vintage?  I would like to get my printer fully installed so I can use all the functions again.  I am currently using a default driver.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Everything other than HP laserJet  CM1017 MFP worked again without any problems.  I have  tried and tried again to install the full solution software without sucess.  I followed these instructions: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02047129  (I downloaded and attempted to install the full solution in vista compatibility mode)
I can only get as far as this:    I then tried the error solutions without sucess.  I have searched the interntet and there does not appear to be a solution.  I can downoad and install the universal printer so I can print but I would like the full solution to work.

  • HP ToolboxFX has encountered an error and cannot recover (HP Laserjet M1536dnf MFP)

We have an HP Laserjet M1536dnf MFP.  Just starting receiving an error with the HP ToolboxFx on Windows 7 32 bit start-up.  We can scan and the printer test prints, but it says the HP Toolbox has encountered an error and cannot recover.  Please restart the HP Toolbox FX...or...toolbox version 006.15.01163.  In toolbox screen, it says cannot connect to device.
I have tried a number of things and read posts, but still no luck.  I can still scan, though.  Help?

    Hi,
Try installing the latest firmware of the printer, reboot both the printer and the PC and check for any difference:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=Im-86043-11&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
If that doesn't help, go to C:\HP Laserjet M1530 Basic Software\Utilities and follow the Scrubber.exe to uninstall the software (it may vary and may be named similar as NTScrubber for example).
Reboot your PC, go to Drive C and remove the M1530 Basic Software folder, then download and install the latest software below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=Im-86005-3&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
    Hope that helps,
    Shlomi

  • Unable to upgrade firmware on LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw - HP Device Update cannot proceed

I just bought a new LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw and was trying to upgrade the firmware to the latest one posted on the support website of HP and the error I keep gettin is HP Device Update cannot proceed. Below is a screenshot
Everything is plugged in and I don't have any errors on the printer. Please help.

    Hi @EddieTr ,
I see you're experiencing issues updating the printer's firmware. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
    Power cycle the printer.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Print a Configuration Report to see which firmware version you have now. The latest Version is 20140129.
    Printing a Configuration Report.
Connect the USB cable from the printer directly to the computer and run the firmware update again, if your version is older. (don't use a USB hub or Dock)
Be sure to select the newly created print queue for the USB connection while using the tool.
