Device File Manager

I am new in 8820;
Usually phone has some file manager for it device; handset and memory external
Is there any file manager for the BB for the internal?
or may be the question is how can I play around in the internal memory?

The closest thing we get to a file manager is the Media application on the device. Nothing that is going to let you root around in the OS files like Windows Explorer does on your PC.

USB devices don't show up in File manager

I've tried many different package managers, but had no luck.
They mount perfectly fine, but they don't show up in the file manager.
They randomly quit showing up in file managers a few months ago.

Hello! As a result of testing Z10 10.1.0.2014, Blackberry Link wifi sync of files with my Windows PC, I have extra repositories listed in File Manager on the Z10. The list shows "Device", "Media Card", "Box", and also "LT2", "LT2-1 (offline)" and "LT2-2". The string LT2 represents the PC's hostname.
I would like to delete the "LT2" and "LT2-1" entries from File Manager's list, as the Link feature does not work for them (early tests). Also I would then like to rename "LT2-2" (which does work) to just "LT2".
How can I do that? If not presently possible, please consider this a feature request.
I think this is a File Manager feature request, not a Blackberry Link request.

Where is the file management utility on my HP Pavilion dv5-1150us Entertainment notebook pc?

I am trying to hookup a WD My Passport Ultra 2TB external drive for backup on my notebook. It tells me to check the file management utility to see if the WD File Setup is listed. How do I go to and find that utility?

Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete,download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the link below.

When the reinstallation has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

Can't see files on MAC from File Manager on Passport

Don't know if this is truly a Link issue, but in File Manager on the Passport (both in 10.3.0 and 10.3.1.1581) I have the option of selecting either of my Mac's (both Yosemite, both on the same network) in the device menu. However no amount of waiting ever shows files on the computer.
This is such a great feature it would be great if it worked.
If I create a folder in the Passport on the Mac, I can see that. If I add files to it on the Passport or the Mac I can see them.
I have removed all the folders in Link and re-added them. I initially started with having my Home open, but also tried just Documents folder, or Music. Same result. The only difference is where the test folder is created on the Mac when I add a folder on the Passport.
Are there settings on the Mac to allow this?

Both Macs on Yosemite. Have not been successful at loading on old XP computer as it creates a VPN connection which will not connect to the Internet.
I did notice on the Mac that I now have a new admin user - access-bpf. Don't know what this is I did not add it and I am the administrator. I added it to the file sharing user list with full access, but no difference. So I removed it from the access list - no difference. So I then removed the account - no difference.

File Manager HD see's images on PC, will not transfer them

All my pc specs are at my profile. With the Xoom Tablet and my old XP the tablet program File Manager HD works great. I had it working with my new HP Pavilion 23 desktop but then I had to do a REFRESH. Now I'm having trouble sharing. I have tried all sorts of easy permissions and file sharing just to get it to work. Within File Manager HD when I Click on MULTI and then select the 3 files, ( in this case several 3gp files and then CLICK on MOVE within FM HD it shows some weird files that I guess is supposed to be my desktop pc but strange folders. C, C$ but does not show my documents, pictures, video folders etc. I can't get to a personal space where the user would be my name. After I did the REFRESH on the new Windows8 I also chose to make the pc logon with an MS account. I don't know if that's where I screwed up or not. Everyone was saying I should use it with an MS Account to get all the benfits. If you have any help I'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks! jack
Bottom line the File Manager program still works great with the XP machine, all and any files will transfer back and forth.
Bottom line the File Manager program seems to hiccup with Windows 8. What have I not done to establish the network connection that usually works to transfer files? I appreciate any help! Thanks! jack

I understand you are wishing to transfer purchases from your iPhone 5 to an already-authorized computer. The following article outlines how to do so in iTunes 11:

After connecting your device to the computer and its icon appears in iTunes, go to the File menu, then Devices, and choose Transfer Purchases from "(Your device name)".
Or, you can Show Sidebar from the View menu, and then right-click (Windows or Mac) or Control-click (Mac only) your device in the iTunes Source list, then choose Transfer Purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library. Please see this article for more details.

File manager

nokia should provide file manager for lumia series.The containts downloaded within the apps. are only visible within the apps...they are not even visible with zune..this is the major disadvantage..

not sure that the file manager really matters in wp8.
if you want a standard office doc, you launch office and any documents that are compatible will show there and you search similar to a file manager
if it is a pdf/adobe file, then you just launch pdf reader and all pdf docs on your device are there.
wp8 is not compatible with zune, so just connect your device vi usb and you can see all the files on your device that are transferred or saved to the device.
just like iOS, you only have access to the main ram file system through developing applications. so at least, unlike iOS, you do not have to pay the 4.99 to get a application that "Acts" like a file manager.
I think that having to use zune is a disadvantage because if you are somewhere and want to share files, and they do not have zune, you are SOL, whereas, now you just have to have the usb cable and you can transfer anything from your device that has been saved to it.

File manager missing in Ovi suite

I just bought E7-00 after my E90 and I was really surprised that file manager was missing in Ovi suite. This means I cannot transfer single files between PC and mobile phone. Difficult to use backup copies are not enough. Fortunately file manager still exists in old familiar PC suite, which works with E7-00 in spite of that Nokia says it is not meant for this device. I consider it stupid that I have to jump between two suites. It takes much time in vain. I wait that the next version of Ovi suite works better. Please, don't say that file manager is not needed!

MISSING FILE MANAGER , CANNOT READ A FOLDER WHICH CONTAINS EXCEL SHEETS THROUGH ITS DEFAULT PROGRAM

You can if you connect via cable. But it makes not difference unlike the pictures folder. You still have to open the office app to find the files on your device.

File Manager Issue on Z10

Anyone else having this issue - my File Manager started appearing blank and I can not view any of the folder (files) and can't change between my SD card, Box accoutn and Device. It was working no problem up until a couple of days ago. I tried resetting my Z10 and still no luck.

It appears that my SD card is corrupt - it was causing the issues. I removed it and had no problems with it. So looks liek the OS is fine.

File Manager & Bluetooth?

Hallo.
I have searched for a File Manager and a Bluetooth app but cant find any good one.
When i hade a undroid phone, there was very good file managers who showed the root of the phone and the bluetooth was great. The only file managers i found for iphone 4, doesnt show all my files, doesnt show my pic folder, ipod (music app), videos from buzz player, just *****, file manager is about to se all files and folders u have in the phone and to organize ur pics, music, videos in 1 place, not to have a few pics here and some there.
And the bluetooth just ***, apple show do a file manager who show all files from the root, and would be great if they could combo it whit bluetooth or something, this just ***.
is there any forum or news about this? would be great if anyway could answer.

You cannot get access to the file structure of the iphone. It does not support disk mode and is not intended to be used as an external storage device. You cannot control the file structure of the iphone.
What bluetooth functions are you looking for?
Iphone supports stereo headsets/speakers, telephone headsets/handsfree device, come BT keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the apps store, and tethering ( where allowed by the carrier, you would need the plan from the carrier for this).

File manager on nokia lumia 920

I am WP8 Nokia user. I bought a nokia lumia 920 about month ago. I have problem with file manager. WP8 has no normal file manager. Will you make an update that will have file manager like WM6/6.5 had? And there is problem with file download. I found some apps but non of them works normal. Please tell me if there is some solutions about this problems. If not i have to change from my WP to android or symbian. Thanks in advance

As far as i know its OS specific. As for the app, i regret that i cant help in this regard as i do not know.
