DEVICE IS LOCKED DURING WRONG ATTEMPTS

HAI..
MY BLACKBERRY DEVICE Z3 IS LOCKED DURING WRONG ENTERD THE PASSWORD... ATTEMPTS ALSO COMPLETED.. IS ANY CHANCE TO UNLOCK MY DEVICE

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
First:
http://kathrynvercillo.hubpages.com/hub/What-People-Think-When-You-Type-in-All-Caps
Second, please clarify exactly which credentials you have failed to correctly enter.
The user-created device lock password? If so, then failing too many times will WIPE the device clean, and there is no way to stop it.
Your BBID credentials? If so, then failing too many times will lock your BBID account for some period of time, but it will automatically unlock once that time passes.
The carrier unlock MEP code? If so, then there is nothing to be done...failing too many times locks the device to it's original carrier, and only the factory can reverse that.
Good luck and let us know!

    my ipod touch locked after several attempts with the wrong password. how do i reset the password.

    If it's showing the disabled screen due to too many incorrect passcode attempts then you will need to connect it to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPod and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPod into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
    If you do it via a different computer then :
    If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

    attempting to update iphone software via pc. itunes engaged. back up does not appear to have occurred.  device now locked. requesting restore action.  anyway to save photos in this status? or restore after?

    it was just the biggest mistake of today, not my life :P
    restoration steps i took were:
    1. connect the dead phone to another pc with itunes turned on
    2. follow the notifications on that itunes
    3. restore the phone
    4. disconnect the phone after the restoration without clicking any buttons of that itunes
    5. connect the phone to my own pc
    6. my own pc can recognize the phone and itunes will try to restore the backup of my phone
    7. restore from the backup on my pc
    8. sync everything (tick all the apps in itunes manually since there is no such button to select all) and reorganize all the apps
    9. after ca. 25 min, the phone is back to the previous sw version

    You can only add music to iTunes Match from your iTunes library on your computer, not from your iOS device.  If you have music on your iPad that is not on your computer, you'll have to import it to your iTunes library on your computer to add it to iTunes Match.
    Music purchased from the iTunes store can be imported directly to your iTunes library by authorizing your computer for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase the music (in Store>Authorize This Computer), then connecting the iPad to your computer, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  Music from other sources will require using 3rd party software to transfer to your computer, such as Touch Copy.

  • Device locking during live calls (speaker phone or handfree)

    Is there a way to prevent the device from locking while on a call?
    I don't think talking on the phone should be considered as "inactivity". Especially on a device mainly dedicated to this function.

    Hey 10_de_engineered,
    The BlackBerry Q10 smartphone currently does not have an option to disable this feature,  one option would be to extend the password lookout time.
    Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Thanks.

  • DEVICE IS LOCKED SCREEN HAS MOVED

    Really minor point, but it is bugging me...I recently updated the software on my blackberry 9780 after being instructed to do so when i connected it to desktop manager.
    Now when my phone times out and requires a password, I need to scroll down to unlock to access the input bar.
    Previously if i pressed enter it would automatically get me there.
    I know this is minor, but appears to be because when i password lock my screent eh homescreen grows a little and the Device is Locked display has a tiny arrow indicatng there is more info below(which there is not).
    I have tried changing the home screen page...restored my berry to its pre-update mode and still nothing...grrr
    Not the biggest problem anyone has had but i would appreciate some help anyway!

    hi, i have just bought a blackberry bold 9780 secondhand on ebay, it has been fully refurbished, i set a password on it and have unlocked it since but then this morning i tried and it is not letting me in. i am on attempt 6 of 10 and have heared it will wipe all my data, i don't mind if it does because i haven't put much on it but will i be able to start a fresh and use it again if i use the rest up, i don't intend on spending any money having it specially unlocked
    If you fail 10 times, it is exactly intended to return the device to "out of the box" condition. Refer:
    Article ID: KB16307 Actions performed by the BlackBerry smartphone during the removal of stored user and application data
    Article ID: KB10385 Multiple attempts to type in a password prompts a warning that data will be wiped from the BlackBerry smartphone
    However, since this is 2nd hand, also refer:
    Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
    If all Seller steps were not conducted by the actual owner of record with their previous carrier, then you may be unable to fully use the device with your carrier.
    Good luck!

  • Excel SSAS Tabular error: An error occurred during an attempt to establish a connection to the external data source

    Hello there,
    I have an Excel report I created which works perfectly fine on my dev environment, but fails on my test environment when I try to do a data refresh.
    The key difference between both dev and test environments is that in dev, everything is installed in one server:
    SharePoint 2013
    SQL 2012: Database Instance, SSAS Instance, SSRS for SharePoint, SSAS POWERPIVOT instance (Powerpivot for SharePoint).
    In my test and production environments, the architecture is different:
    SQL DB Servers in High Availability (irrelevant for this report since it is connecting to the tabular model, just FYI)
    SQL SSAS Tabular server (contains a tabular model that processes data from the SQL DBs).
    2x SharePoint Application Servers (we installed both SSRS and PowerPivot for SharePoint on these servers)
    2x SharePoint FrontEnd Servers (contain the SSRS and PowerPivot add-ins).
    Now in dev, test and production, I can run PowerPivot reports that have been created in SharePoint without any issues. Those reports can access the SSAS Tabular model without any issues, and perform data refresh and OLAP functions (slicing, dicing, etc).
    The problem is with Excel reports (i.e. .xlsx files) uploaded to SharePoint. While I can open them, I am having a hard time performing a data refresh. The error I get is:
    "An error occurred during an attempt to establish a connection to the external data source [...]"
    I ran SQL Profiler on my SSAS Server where the Tabular instance is and I noticed that every time I try to perform a data refresh, I get the following entries:
    Every time I try to perform a data refresh, two entries under the user name ANONYMOUS LOGON.
    Since things work without any issues on my single-server dev environment, I tried running SQL Server Profiler there as well to see what I get.
    As you can see from the above, in the dev environment the query runs without any issues and the user name logged is in fact my username from the dev environment domain. I also have a separated user for the test domain, and another for the production domain.
    Now upon some preliminary investigation I believe this has something to do with the data connection settings in Excel and the usage (or no usage) of secure store. This is what I can vouch for so far:
    Library containing reports is configured as trusted in SharePoint Central Admin.
    Library containing data connections is configured as trusted in SharePoint Central Admin.
    The Data Provider referenced in the Excel report (MSOLAP.5) is configured as trusted in SharePoint Central Admin.
    In the Excel report, the Excel Services authentication settings is set as "use authenticated user's account". This wortks fine in the DEV environment.
    Concerning SecureStore, PowerPivot Configurator has configured it the PowerPivotUnnattendedAccount application ID in all the environments. There is
    NO configuration of an Application ID for Excel Services in any of the environments (Dev, test or production). Altough I reckon this is where the solution lies, I am not 100% sure as to why it fails in test and prod. But as I read what I am
    writing, I reckon this is because of the authentication "hops" through servers. Am I right in my assumption?
    Could someone please advise what am I doing wrong in this case? If it is the fact that I am missing an Secure Store entry for Excel Services, I am wondering if someone could advise me on how to set ip up? My confusion is around the "Target Application
    Type" setting.
    Thank you for your time.
    Regards,
    P.

    Hi Rameshwar,
    PowerPivot workbooks contain embedded data connections. To support workbook interaction through slicers and filters, Excel Services must be configured to allow external data access through embedded connection information. External data access is required
    for retrieving PowerPivot data that is loaded on PowerPivot servers in the farm. Please refer to the steps below to solve this issue:
    In Central Administration, in Application Management, click Manage service applications.
    Click Excel Services Application.
    Click Trusted File Location.
    Click http:// or the location you want to configure.
    In External Data, in Allow External Data, click Trusted data connection libraries and embedded.
    Click OK.
    For more information, please see:
    Create a trusted location for PowerPivot sites in Central Administration:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee637428.aspx
    Another reason is Excel Services returns this error when you query PowerPivot data in an Excel workbook that is published to SharePoint, and the SharePoint environment does not have a PowerPivot for SharePoint server, or the SQL Server Analysis
    Services (PowerPivot) service is stopped. Please check this document:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff487858(v=sql.110).aspx
    Finally, here is a good article regarding how to troubleshoot PowerPivot data refresh for your reference. Please see:

  • How to disable the message that pops up every time i connect my iphone "photos in the camera roll of iphone cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode"?

    Wrongly posted in iPhoto forum, should probably be posted here instead.
    I want to remove the message that pops up every time i connect my IPhone that says: "Photos in the Camera Roll of "Name" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.".
    This computer is not one that I want to import photos to (or sync with the iPhone), so this message is just very annoying, and it pops up all the time. I cannot find a way to disable this message. It is constantly appearing. No application is launching, I have turned off the iPhoto launch in the Image Capture app as well as in iPhoto. Thanks in advance if anyone has any information about this.

    Because your computer sees your phone, as it would see any digital camera, as long as you have photos in your camera role. Since you state you don't sync with this computer & have a passcode on your phone, that's why you get that message. The only way to prevent that message is either start syncing with this computer; remove the photos from your camera roll prior to connecting; or first turn off your passcode before you connect. Either that, or you live with it.
    You shouldn't be storing photos in your camera roll anyway. iPhone camera roll is not designed for photo storage. You should be regularly importing them.

  • IPhoto won't import photos because the "device is locked"

    I recently plugged my iPhone into my computer and attempted to import my pictures into iPhoto. Up until now I've been able to import photos just fine. This time, iPhoto gave me the message "Photos in the Camera Roll of "(your) iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.  You must unlock the device to import them." I found this strange because 1) my phone was already unlocked and 2) iPhoto gave me this message BEFORE I plugged in my phone. I quit iPhoto, plugged in my phone and tried opening the program again. Still the same message appeared.
    I tried turning off my passcode, quitting and restarting iPhoto (multiple times), Googling the problem, and reading THIS community post (which doesn't entirely help because I've already 'trusted' the computer). Even with my phone disconnected, iPhoto still gives me the message that I need to enter a passcode to unlock the device.
    What next?

    As a Test:
    Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
    Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • 'An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation.'

    Hi,
    since a while (as far as i am able to roll back system log in event viewer) I am having strange issues in the sys log, as in the subject. It is a warning of disk event 51: 'An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation.'
    I have freed up 1/3 of each partition on the harddrive. Any idea where can i keep going to investigate?
    thx

    pogacsa,
    I have searched a bit about you issue in microsoft technet,and here's what they have got to say
    "An event ID 51 entry is a generic error entry for any type of error that occurs when Windows is paging information to input/output (I/O).
     A paging operation occurs when Windows either swaps a page of memory from memory to disk, or when Windows retrieves a page of memory from disk to memory."
    In this event, D, DR and FT, they all stand for a certain disk partition number. You can use the Registry or Disk Management to locate the certain disk.
    For further information, please refer to the following KBs:
    159865 How to distinguish a physical disk device from an event message

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244780/en-us
    you may also want to check out this link from microsoft technet community as well.
    some of the resolutions mentioned there require you to modify your registry.Please DONOT attempt to modify the registry if you dont have enough prior knowledge about it
    Also try defragmenting your HDD once.
    hope this info helps you

    my gf's blackberry has been locked.. how? I don't know.
    Her young cousin (13) was playing doodle jump and says he just exited back to the wallpaper but when she went to use it, it says thie device is locked, unlock, emergency call or cancel.
    He says hes definately not set any passwords etc.
    She is gutted as we know if you put in the wrong password 10 times it wipes everything and we've tried 8 passwords.
    She has first pics of our baby son being born and the last few pics of her dad on it before he died so hoping someone somewhere can tell us what to do.
    She has never set any passwords herself so is there any default passwords etc?
    I was able to get the IMEI off the original box because we cannot get into any settings on the phone etc. and tried getting an unlocking code from a website but even then cant enter it because it tells you to use it go into options...
    Please someone help

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    Someone set a password. There is no "default" password. There is no "back door" password. Only the password that someone programmed can unlock the BB. Nothing else.
    Good luck!

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school enviroment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Reset Admin password after wrong attempts

    Hello,
    I wanted to expose my intranet site collection for anonymous users. Before that i wanted to know that by any method could a anonymous access the admin section(site section) of the site? How secure it is?
    Plus if any user trying to access admin section, is there a way to reset the admin's password after 3 wrong attempts?
    Any help would be really appreciated.

    Hi Rizwan,
    The "admin" pages are secured just like any other page on a non-anonymous site collection. For instance, the _layouts/settings.aspx page (the site settings page), will require authentication. So to answer your question:
    Could an anonymous user access the admin section in any way? Not as far as I know, because it requires authentication.
    Your second question, regarding resetting the admin password is a little harder.
    What do you mean by "admin" password. Do you have only 1 user that is authorized to the site settings page?
    You can use Group Policies to lock users if they enter a wrong password.
