Device is not being displayed in itunes and restore is not proceeding
I was upgrading my Ipod software but after few minutes it turned off automatically i tried to turn it on but it doesn't work so i thought i should try the restore and than my ipod showed the restore sign 'cable pointing itunes' but when i connected it to my windows>itunes and opened devices it didn't detect my ipod...... after a few minutes restore sign turned off and apple sign showed and disappeared.....i even followed theses procedureshttp://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 but none of these worked the apple sing is still showing and disappearing and when i try to restore itunes donot detect the ipod.
Try the remaining items of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

i can not open my i pad-1 and the device gave me message connect to iTunes and when connect the computer give me message type the password firstly i do not know what can i do ?
Is it disabled due to too many incorrect passcode attempts ? If it is then you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync your content to it.

Preventing Podcasts from being displayed as Music and\or songs.
How can I prevent Podcasts from being displayed as Music and\or songs?
Welcome Mr. Lutz,
Note: This is for Windows version of iTunes because this is the OS I'm running. Even with diferent OSes, the process should be similar enough.
1.Open iTunes
2.Connect your iPod
3.Highlight it in the source list
4.Go to Edit, then Preferences
5.Click on the iPod tab
6.Click on Automatically update selected playlists only
7.Click which playlists you want on your iPod
8.Switch to the Podcast tab
9.Select automatically update all podcasts
10.Click OK
11.Disconnect your iPod
12.Now, follow steps 1-7 with one of your daughter's iPods.
13.Now, switch to the Podcast tab
and select Do not update podcasts
14.Click OK
15.Disconnect the iPod.(Repeat Steps 12-15 with the other mini.
This should allow your iPod to update your songs and podcasts, and allow your daughters to update their songs and no podcasts.

I need help. My ipad 2 was stuck in recovery mode. i tried to connect it to itunes and restore but after downloading the file and extracting the software there is a pop up message that says "the device is full. Deleting files and emptying your recycle been will help you restore." how am i going to erase files if i can't open my ipad. i dont know what to do. Its been 2 days now. please help. thanks.
yes i am sure. This are the exact words... "The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to use is full. (Removing files and emptying the recycle bin will free up additional space". i tried some options, hard reset, redsnow, tinyumbrella but still it's stuck.

Hello - I connected my iPhone earlier since a pop-up message showed up saying that I needed to back up my information in iCloud, once I connected it to my iTunes, it was taking more than 2 hours to complete, I decided to disconnected in the middle of the process, and I was not able to use it anymore, and it only displays: Use iTunes to restore. I connected it again, but it does not do anything. Another message comes up in the iTunes screen saying that in order to use the iPhone in iTunes it needs to be restored. That is not my intention, but it does not let me do anything else. Does anybody know what to do please?
Thank you a million!Hello there, ksknoxie.
The following iPod classic Troubleshooting Assistant offers a great guide to follow for troubleshooting:
Apple - Support - iPod - iPod classic Troubleshooting Assistant

Although following each step in order is recommended, many who have reported your symptoms have seen the Restore step resolve their issue.

Display on screen OFF but ipod touch is being displayed in itunes
If i press wake/sleep button, nothing is shown on screen. its dark only
But if i connect to laptop iPod touch is being recognized by iTunes and i am able to change the stored songs. Still i could not able to see any thing on screen
How to set brightness off screen as I could not able to see (its dark) any thing on the screen.
I already tried restore but still no displaySrikanth:
It appears that you have tried RESTORING your iPod Touch. That alone should have put the iPod Touch to original factory settings. I recommend that you take your iPod Touch to your nearest Apple Store for evaluation and possible service. This is because I think your video card is failing.

My Ipad display is stuck on portrait mode. I tried the toggle switch, turning off and restart and just now backed up into Itunes and restored and still is stuck on portrait mode and it won't flip to landscape mode. Is this a hardware problem?
Has lock rotation been accidentally enabled within the control centre? If you swipe up the screen is there a circle with a lock symbol & if so is is greyed out or white - if white it is enabled.

What should I do short of restoring my phone to factory settings?
Nothing. The message means you MUST restore your phone to factory settings. There's no way around this . Your phone is in recovery mode. That's the only way to get it out. -
i don't have access to a computer and so,without physically attaching my iPod touch to PC devices, can you manually restore an apple iPod touch, restrictions passcode online to iTunes and restore it to store purchased factory settings?
Sorry but no. The only way to restore an iPod to factory settings is through iTunes on a computer. You will need to get access to a computer somehow. If you can get to an Apple Store, they can probably help you.
