Device locked on 'Enter Security Code'

I have a nokia n9. After a "backup" then "restore" setting procedure, the phone is locked with an "Enter security code" interface. But I have never ever set such a security code. Then the phone stucked at this state no mather what possiable code I had tried, even reflashing the Firmware did no use.
This is a serious OS bug, raised & comformerd by others n9 users on official nokia support website.

Hi Kiiwii,
Welcome to the Nokia forum,
Have you tried 12345 as the security code? as it is the default security code for the device if you have not set your own personal security code.

  • Keypad Lock without enter Security Code

    Dear all,
Is there anyway to lock the phone keypad without having to enter Security Code?
    Thanks,
    Arie Sasongko

Or leftmost navigation key + '*' (depending on which phone is in question).
However, if the question was about automatic/timed locking of the keypad, then some phones (in particular the S60 based phones), only have built-in support for so that the security code needs to be entered.
For those phones a workaround is installing utilities like these:

  • N8 - Can't enter security code when trying to unlo...

I can enter my PIN and security code just fine when I turn on the phone and when changing settings. But, when my phone is locked and I have to type security code in to unlock the phone, I can press buttons just fine, complete with haptic feedback and all, but nothing is actually entered into the security code field, rendering my phone useless even for emergency calls until I reboot it.
However, if I disable security code check when unlocking the phone (which means I don't have to enter the security code to unlock the phone), the home screen freezes when I unlock the phone. The screen changes the orientation correctly and I can use the hardware button to call up the task manager, but I cannot press any widgets or buttons on the home screen. If I press the hardware button, the menu won't appear, but I can still use the task manager to open up the menu to select applications and such. At this point the phone unfortunately pretty much craps up. The interface glitches out and the phone becomes unusable until rebooted.
This has actually happened before. The firmware had somehow managed to "downgrade" itself to an older version, so I managed to fix the problem by updating to the newest firmware again. It seems the same trick is not usable this time. The firmware version I have installed is 025.007.
    Solved!

I've managed to fix the problem.
I tried downloading an app from Nokia Store. The app happened to be a Qt application, which requested me to download and install one item with the actual application. After I installed the application the problem was fixed, although I doubt that was the reason it was fixed.

  • Trying change my credit card info from previously lost credit card but can't since it says I'm accessing from new device and asks for security code for a card i no longer have. What can I do?

I've recently gotten a new laptop and replaced my damaged iphone. Apparently these 2 scenarios qualify as "new devices". This is fine but I also had lost my credit card previously that was connected to my iTunes account, and got a new one with all different numbers. When I try to change my billing information to this new card it won't let me because it says
"Your account has been accessed from a new device, and you must verify your payment information before you can make purchases."
and it asks for the security code of the card I had lost and replaced! I am not able to change my billing info to my new card thus because I can't get past this.
    Can anyone please help?

We can't provide the unlock code .. If the phone is locked by a Security Code entered by you and you can't remember the code, the ONLY solution is the one provided above in Message 2. If the phone is locked to a Network, the unlock code can be provided ONLY by the Operator with which its locked ..

  • How to get Security Code in Payment Card

Every time i used to enter security code, but it says invalid, please help me in this.

    Hi ankurverma,
It seems you are unable to enter the security code for the credit card associated with your Apple ID. You may want to consider reviewing the following article. It may help you find a solution:
iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records - Apple Support
When there is a mismatch between the iTunes Store's records and your credit card company's records, you will receive an error message stating that your credit card's security code isn't valid or that your zip code does not match your bank's records.
In most cases, this issue is caused by a formatting error in the billing address that you have provided. You can correct the issue by verifying that the information you have provided is correct, or by changing the format of your address to match the format that your credit card company has on file.
You can verify and/or modify your billing address by following these instructions:
Open iTunes.  If you are signed in to iTunes, skip to step 4.
Note: Verify that you are signed in to the correct iTunes account. If you are unsure which account you're signed into, choose Store > Sign Out and proceed to step 2.
    Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your account name and password, then click the Sign In button.
Choose Store > View My Account.
Click the Edit Payment Information button.
In the Payment Method section, choose None.
Click the Done button at the bottom of the page.
Click the Edit Payment Information button again.
Enter your billing address exactly as it appears on your credit card statement.
Select your credit card type in the Payment Method section.
Enter your credit card information, your card's security code, and the expiration date.
Click the Done button at the bottom of the page.
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorizations have the correct information on file.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

  • Safari Update required security code for validation

I have an I Phone 5 & 6.  Received a request for a Safari update.  First asked for phone number.  None entered were accepted.  Then asked to enter security code sent to you in order to complete validation.  Did not receive a security code.  Don't know what this is asking for.  Any suggestions?

I had this problem this morning on my iPhone 5. I went into Settings>>Safari>>Clear History and Website Data and clicked that. Unfortunately you'll lose any pages you had open as well as browsing history. However, this solved the problem immediately.

  • Hi, I recently got an iPad. I want to purchase software but I was prompted for a security code due to the fact that I am purchasing on a new device. I entered all my credit card details but can't even recall having a security code.

Please help. Because I wanted to purchase apps on my iPad after I have only used my credit card detail on my iPhone, I was requested to also enter some security code. I cannot recall what it is and now I cannot purchase any apps. I entered anything in the hope that some assistance to choose a new one will pop up but nothing. What can I do?

  • I recently got a new card but billing won't let me enter it in, it says I must verify my old card security code because I use more than one device. What do I do? Its cut up somewhere.

I looked up how to change it and in both my home settings, and regular account store settings it says I must verify my old card's security code which I do not have. This is really ******* me off. I haven't had a problem before, do I need to create a whole other apple ID and try that way?
Please any body with any knowledge I would really appreciate the help,
    Thanks

I have switched credit cards in the past and haven't run into anything like this before. It's been a while but I've never seen this message.
Did you try removing the old credit card by selecting the "none" option and then go back in and try to add the card again?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
