Hi,
this document you use seems to be wrong.
You need to enter configuration details like system, ID, Port, client. Once done, you need to create a device in MI7.1 admin portal. In there you define the device by name and add a user to the device. You need to enable the device.
Once you have done this, you can sync your device and it will get the name of he device from MI Server. The default mapping between MI Server and device is done by username, not by devicename. So even if you would ener a device name on your device, it would be overwritten by middleware at first sync.
Also: be aware, you need to have a deic ein state Initial/enabled for this user before you snyc a device first time.
Hope this helps!

Oliver

  • Device name missing for windows computer

    Hi,
    I am following the article http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2013/11/08/scom-2012-override-free-space-monitoring-for-page-file-drive/ and at the stage of creating dynamic members for a group, in Windows Computer, I do not see a "device name"
    field for Windows Computer?
    I am on SCOM 2012 R2 UR3. When doing this from the console, it's not the console on the management server (if this matters).

    Hi,
    How about doing this from your management server?
    Have you import Windows operating system management packs to your management group? If not, please first download the management pack from the below link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9296
    And import it to your management group.

  • No Device Name and Port in UserTracking Report for Ipphones

    Hello,
    I'm having problems with Usertracking to IpPhones. The report provides information of usertracking IPPhone number, CCM Address, MAC, etc.. But the information in "Device Name" and "Port" (which would be connected) do not appear.
    The CCM normally appear in Topology Services, and reports Usertracking EndHosts to operate normally, even in the same switches that the phones are connected.
    Thanks

    What version of Campus Manager are you running ?
    What version of the Call Manager do you have ?
    What kind of IP Phone is this ?
    Post screenshot of the problem re-run data collection and UT .  Ensure that you don't have any filters in place and all subnets are included.
    Do an snmpwalk from the CiscoWorks LMS server to the Cisco Call Manager and see if you can poll those values from the cli and let us know the results using the "ccmPhoneTable"  ?
    Get the ut.log and ani.log with neccesary debugs enabled for phones.

  • Can you retrieve a task list for a user without specifying that user's connection settings?

    Hi
    I would like to know if it is possible to obtain a list of workspace tasks for a user of my choice. In the following code, taken from the relevant quickstart, I am able to retrieve a list of tasks for "administrator" because it is the "administrator" settings specified in the connection properties when obtaining an instance of ServiceClientFactory. If I wanted to obtain a list of tasks for user "greg", for example, is there a way I can do this without having to specify the settings for "greg" in the connection properties? I tried to invoke the setUserId() method of the TaskFilter interface but no tasks are returned for user "greg" in that scenario. The aforesaid user has 3 tasks assigned to him. If I specify the user name and password for "greg" in connection settings, I am able to retrieve his list of tasks successfully. However, this is undesirable because I want to be able to retrieve a list of tasks for any user of my choice, by passing a parameter. Is that possible? Code follows:
    //Start of code
    import com.adobe.idp.dsc.clientsdk.ServiceClientFactory;
    import com.adobe.idp.dsc.clientsdk.ServiceClientFactoryProperties;
    import com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.TaskManagerClientFactory;

                e.printStackTrace();
    //End of code
    Thanks
    Darren

    Paul,
    Thanks very much, I never tried just asking for the parameter I was looking at the entire list coming back from a query with no filters. Using the DBMS_LDAP package you can in fact get their GUID.
    I understand your concern for the use of the field and for other reasons have moved to a different identifier to tie OID accounts to our internal application user accounts.
    Thanks very much, I'm still glad to know how to do get at the info.

  • Bluetooth connection to multiple devices with the same device name

    I just got a new iPhone 4 and am having trouble connecting it to my car's bluetooth. We have two GM vehicles which both have bluetooth. I can connect to one vehicle with no problems, but when I try to connect to the other, the phone tries to connect to the first car since both have the device name of "General Motors". With my old phone, I could change the name of the connection in the phone so that each car had a different name. How do I do this on my iPhone?
    Thanks for the help?

    No. It's a limitation of the BlueTooth protocol.

  • Getting "There are no speakers connected to the AirPlay device " device-name "

    For the past several years, I have had a stereo receiver hooked up to and airport express to stream music wirelessly from my iMac to stereo speakers.  All of a sudden, I started getting the message "There are no speakers connected to the AirPlay device "<device-name>".  So, what changed, we recently changed ISP from Verizon DSL to RCN cable, I changed my Apple ID (due to the ISP change), I upgraded all computers to OS X Lion, and I have a new iPhone5.  I can't tell you exactly when during the process things went bad, but I can tell you what I have done to solve the problem:
    I checked that my devices are configured correctly. The network layout is as follows: I have an Airport Express on the 3rd floor of my house, along with the iMac containing the iTunes library, I have an Airport Express on the 2nd floor acting as a repeater, I have an Airport Express on the 1st floor acting as a repeater and connected to my stereo receiver and 4 speakers.  I control which set of speakers is "on" via the receiver.
    I checked that I can get sound out of the speakers via the receiver by selecting FM and got radio to play, so I believe the receiver is ok.
    I swapped this receiver with another receiver and got no sound and still the message "there are no speakers connected..."
    I moved the Airport Express from the AUX port to the TAPE2 port to check the port.  Still no sound.
    I checked the cable with a Bose box and got sound, so I believe the cable is ok.
    I plugged a headset directly into the Airport Express and got no sound.
    I swapped the 2nd floor and 1st floor Airport Express units, reconfigured the new 1st floor unit to turn on Air Play and still get no sound and the error message.
    I am controlling the music using the Remote app on my iPhone.  I have configured the new device to use this library.
    I am tired, confused and at a loss.  What can be going on here?

    All that I can suggest is that you perform a Factory Default Reset on the Express to wipe the current settings and set it up again.
    If you are still having problems after that, you need to take the Express to an Apple Store or Apple Servicer near you to let them have a look at what I suspect is a defective AirPort Express.

  • How do I change device name after connecting to old machine?

    That's right, I've gone ahead and connected my new power book to my old dual G5 in order to get the information onto the new machine.
    Now, my new machine has my Dual G5 name as it's device name.
    How can I change this so my power book has the correct name?

    I wish that was it, but that only changes the name of the "Hard Drive", not the actual device name.
    In other words, when browsing the network there's 2 computers with same name.
    Any other suggestions?

  • An error occurred while reconnecting...The local device name is already in use. The connection has not been restored.

    Hi,
    So I have 2 PC's and I sign with the same credentials. I have a hard drive which I decided to share. In the setting I created permissions for the user credentials of both vcomputers and have full control access.
    Basically, everytime I open my laptop after and it wakes up and try to connect to the network drive, I get the error
    An error occurred while reconnecting...The local device name is already in use. The connection has not been restored.
    I need to stay disconnecting all drives and reconnecting them. WHen I restart my PC the network drives restore perfectly. I don't understand why it doesnt work on wake.
    Any ideas?

    It seems that when a machine goes into sleep, the network connection is disconnected, naturally, but the  machine still has the connection mapped. If  you run the 'net use' you will see the connection. When you try to reconnect it, it sees the
    connection and gives you the error.
    I do not know if you can directly modify this behavior. However, as a work around, you could build a simple script like:
    net use 'connection' /delete ( write it into a text file and save it has a .bat file.)
    Use scheduled tasks to have the script run right before the machine goes into sleep. You can do so by setting the task to RUN ON Event: event 42 for the KERNEL_POWER source.
    You can see http://superuser.com/questions/679195/run-a-script-when-hibernating-windows-8 for more info .

    Good morning
    Thanks for using our forum
    Hi Louis, my name is Johnnatan and I am part of the Small business Support community. You can´t block any device by the name, however you can block devices using it mac-address. Go Firewall> Access Control>Mac Filtering in this section you can specify the mac address of  the devices and block them.
    I hope you find this answer useful,

    Please see that you following these steps:
    a ) On a fresh installed client, create user same to DOE user
    b) Login, goto to ManageDevice-> Settings->Connection Settings from the main menu "System". Enter the system details (host,port etx).
    c) AT DOE, while creation of DOE the DEVICE_NAME needs to set as a mandatory parameter.
    d) Perform first sync, this will fail and the all mandatory parameters req info will flow down.
    e) Go to screen in step b) all the mandatory parameters required iff includin device name will have to be provided now.

    When installing my new nano, it took on the same device name as my wife's. How can I change the device name so that the computer recognizes it as a different ipod and will therefore only sync with the playlists I want on mine, as well as when she syncs?

    When only one iPod is connected, select it in the iTunes source list, click on its name, and type a new name. You may then need to follow the instructions in this article.
