device not authrized keeps coming up

As long as the app is authorized with the same Adobe ID that was in use by whatever device/app was cative when the book was first accessed,
you can install multiple ereader apps and read books on any/all of them.
If you can't get Aldiko to authorize properly you may be stuck for reading the books on it.
The important thing is not to create two different Adobe IDs,
with some apps/devices and some books books under one ID and other books under the other ID.
Quite a few Adobe DRM apps (including ADE on PC/Mac) have problems with passwords that include characters other than non-accented letters and numerals.
If you have such a stronger password, log into the Adobe website using it, and change it to a weaker one (isn't Adobe security wonderful?)

    Hi,
    When I try to play a movie I have rented from iTunes on my iPad, I get device not authorized when using Airplay to my Apple TV. Signed in to iTunes with same account on iPad and Apple TV.
    Worked fine for another movie yesterday.
    The only differece I can see is that the download is still pending for the movie I have problem with. Is that the reason? Don't think so!

    I authorized my Kobo in ADE and can transfer the book to my kobo but when I try to open the book, it tells me my device is not authorized so I can't open it. I tried reseting to factory settings and set it up on someone else's account and it works. I reseted to factory settings and tried again and I always get the same error message. For some reason, even when ADE confirms the device has been authorized it doesn't work. Whit all the tests I did, I know the issue is with my ADE account and not my device. Can anyone help?

    Did your KOBO also authorized with the same Adobe ID? If not, please authorize KOBO with the same Adobe ID and try opening the book.

      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
    You may only do this once per year.

    We have SCCM 2012 R2 inegrated with intune via an intune subscription. When I enroll a device with my admin account there are no problems, but when I want to add it with another user account which is a member of the Intune users collection, it can't be enrolled.
    When I tested on https://portal.manage.microsoft.com with the credentials of the user I couldn't connect and received the following error: This user account is not authorized to use Windows Intune.
    Do I have to do anything in the https://accounts.manage.microsoft.com as there is a checkbox saying Windows Intune. this is unchecked now for all the users even my own account on which I'm able to enroll a device.
    Or is this a license problem? I know configuration Manager uses licenses for Intune but where can we track how many licenses are used and how many available? Is there some kind of report available?

    I added them yesterday and this morning I was still not able to enroll a device with the added user his credentials.
    The UPN is correct. Maybe I need to force the DirSync then? Or will one day of waiting be enough normally?
    I can see the user in the intune management portal. Does this means it has been synced?
    Another thing I noticed is the cloudusersync.log doesn't show them being added? What I was thinking is I first used the all Users collection in the subscription and afterwards I changed it to a specific collection with only the test users. Could it be that
    they all synced already and the log doesn't show them anymore?

  • About the error: "The account is not authorized to login from this station" when you access NAS devices from Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926)

    Scenario:
    With the release of Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926), some users may encounter an error message of “The account is not authorized to login from this station” when trying to access remote files saved in NAS storage. In
    addition, the following error log may also be found via Event Viewer:
    Rejected an insecure guest logon.
    This event indicates that the server attempted to log the user on as an unauthenticated guest but was denied by the client. Guest logons do not support standard security features such as signing and encryption. As a result,
    guest logons are vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks that can expose sensitive data on the network. Windows disables insecure guest logons by default. Microsoft does not recommend enabling insecure guest logons.
    Background:
    The error message is due to a change we made in Windows 10 Technical Preview (build 9926) which is related to security and remote file access that may affect you.
    Previously, remote file access includes a way of connecting to a file server without a username and password, which was termed as “guest access”.
    With guest access authentication, the user does not need to send a user name or password.
    The security change is intended to address a weakness when using guest access.  While the server may be fine not distinguishing among clients for files (and, you can imagine in the home scenario that it doesn’t
    matter to you which of your family members is looking at the shared folder of pictures from your last vacation), this can actually put you at risk elsewhere.  Without an account and password, the client doesn’t end up with a secure connection to the server. 
    A malicious server can put itself in the middle (also known as the Man-In-The-Middle attack), and trick the client into sending files or accepting malicious data.  This is not necessarily a big concern in your home, but can be an issue when you take your
    laptop to your local coffee shop and someone there is lurking, ready to compromise your automatic connections to a server that you can’t verify.  Or when your child goes back to the dorm at the university. The change we made removes the ability to connect
    to NAS devices with guest access, but the error message which is shown in build 9926 does not clearly explain what happened. We are working on a better experience for the final product which will help people who are in this situation. 
    As a Windows Insider you’re seeing our work in progress; we’re sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.
    Suggestion:
    You may see some workarounds (eg. making a registry change restores your ability to connect with guest access).
    We do NOT recommend making that change as it leaves you vulnerable to the kinds of attacks this change was meant to protect you from.
    The recommended solution is to add an explicit account and password on your NAS device, and use that for the connections.  It is a one-time inconvenience,
    but the long term benefits are worthwhile.  If you are having trouble configuring your system, send us your feedback via the Feedback App and post your information here so we can document additional affected scenarios.

  • IPad 2 to Apple TV: Cannot Play Movie - The Connected Device is not authorized to play protected movies.

    I am getting the 'Connected Device is not authorized to play protected movies' message.
    Here is my setup:
    From the iPad 2 I used iTunes to Rent a movie - Safe House in SD.
    I then used Airplay Mirroring to send the movie to my Apple TV.
    The Apple TV is connected to a Vizio V0370M HDTV.
    According to Vizio all of the HDMI ports have HDCP.
    When the movie starts I get this error message on the iPad.
    I have used this approach in the past with success.
    I rented a couple of episodes of HBO's True Blood and they played just fine on the Vizio through Apple TV.
    I believe some were in HD and some SD.
    Using the iPad with Airplay Mirroring is a very nice way to send content to the HDTV.
    I was hoping I'd be able to do this for anything that is on the iPad.
    Is there something wrong with my configuration? Or what I'm trying to do?

    I had exact same problem and I have found a way to get round out!!!! Easy!
    So the reason it doesn't allow it to play is for security to stop piracy etc.
    Plug in the cable and VGA and aux cable and get everything set up so you are looking at the home screen.
    1) select Videos
    2) selected the film you want to watch
    3) click the little play button
    4) it will then come up with the message saying it can't play protected films blah blah blah
    5) WITHOUT clicking ok double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar and swipe left to reveal the control panel
    6) hold fast forward for a second or two and the movie with continue to play!
    Stay in the multi tasking bar with the control panel, The message will stay there but don't worry. Kick back and enjoy your iPad movie on the big screen:)

    Did you check Walmart's terms for video/movie downloads? Do they allow transfers/copying of a movie to another device?

    In iTunes, I just rented Life of PI using Mac Pro Mt. Lion, then tried to play it in Mac Pro Windows 8 Bootcamp iTunes and message says that it is "not authorized to play on another computer or device". A complication here is that the only Windows OS that Mt. Lion sees is Windows 7. I installed Windows 8 to a "shrink" of the drive.
    I'm fairly sure I've been able to do this previously but maybe only with purchased movies. But this was done from iTunes that Mt. Lion (or previous) saw in Boot Camp space.

    I had, before trying it in Windows 8, synced/dragged it to iPad 3 from iTunes in Mt. Lion. 
    Then after the Windows 8 attempt, (but wait - it gets better) when I went back into Mt. Lion it was no longer in iTunes. I guess copy pasting it from Mt. Lion disk to Windows 8 \MyMusic\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music raised some infringment?
    Though I still have it on the iPad, I wanted to see it on my Mac Pro which has Windows 7, Windows 8 and Mt. Lion on it. I tried dragging it from iPad to Mt. Lion iTunes but that proved to be impossible.
    I do not have iTunes in Windows 7, so I rented it again, this time in Windows 8.

  • App Not Authorized on 2/16 devices

    Ok so I have AC 1.2.1 in a school context, 16 iPad mini's 14 of which have all successfully become managed devices.
    I have two iPad minis that continually get stuck during the app syncing process with the "App not Authorized" message. 
    There are at least 7 codes free for each of the apps. There are no Apple ID issues on the Mac that is managing the devices, as we have successfully supervised 14/16 of the minis.
    The profile is the same profile for each
    Any ideas as to how resolve this?

    The only time I've ever come across this error message was when the Apple ID used to download the app (.ipa file) in iTunes on the provisioning computer was different from the Apple ID entered into Apple Configurator. As to why its working on all but 2 of your iPad minis is strange.
    First thing I would try is to associate the Apple ID with the iPad mini. On the mini, go to Settings -> iTunes and App Stores and enter the Apple ID and password that you used on your OS X Mac to download the app. Then plug back into Apple Configurator and try adding the apps again.
    If that doesn't work (and if there isn't any data or apps you need to back up on the mini), I would wipe the iPad clean (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Conteent and Settings) and restore a new backup...then try again.
    Below are steps that I have suggested to many users on this forum who have come across this error message (and it has helped many of them). I know your circumstances are different because its working on 14 of your 16 iPads but I thought I'd share it in case something in there helps you.

    First, go into iTunes and authorize with an Apple ID (iTunes -> Store -> Authroize this computer). It doesn't have to be a VPP Apple ID…just an ordinary Apple ID used to associate with the app. Then download the app(s). They will go to ~/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications. These apps will be linked to the Apple ID you authorized in iTunes. Next go into Apple Configurator and add the apps on the Prepare -> Apps screen. When you try to add the app in AC (clicking on the "+" at the bottom of the screen), you should be prompted to enter an Apple ID and password (see screenshot below).
    It will say that "This Apple ID will be used to redeem VPP codes…" It is NOT the Apple ID used to purchase the VPP codes… The VPP codes can be redeemed by any Apple ID.
    You must enter the same Apple ID and password that you used to download the app in iTunes, and you should be good to go.
