Device not ready for access

Hello
With my new PT880 board and the also new harddrives and the new installed winxp I've this problem: Device\Harddisk1\D is not yet ready for access. Error 15
this message is in the systems protocol from win xp.
i've looked for a new driver for the via chipset but ther in only the one from 31.10.03. is it a driver problem?

affirm both HD's are formated and partitionated. i thik it's a trouble with the via s-ata/raid driver (or maybe chipset) because there is not realy a problem. i can use the pc normaly, but i wondered about all these entrys in the windows systems log file.  and there are realy a lot of it.

  • Firefox beta 35 not ready for prime time.

I have spent the entire weekend trying to get the Firefox beta 35 to work. What I have found is that *all* extensions fail to work with the exception of Places Maintenance. I can not download any extension Firefox is so famous for. The error is something like "cannot install 'plugin-name' in it's current state." Enabling any extension require a FF restart, even Places Maintenance. Trying to remove an extension fails and must be done manually.
I am on Windows 7 Premium desktop Firefox, 32 bit. I "committed" myself to FF 35 last night (which meant clearing history and cache on exit because the extension "Expire History by Days" was no longer working), when I discovered that 35 was not playing nice with some sites using Flash. It was a capricious thing. Many sites worked as normal but some would not render at all. Examples:
    http://www.wunderground.com/US/WI/La_Crosse.html
    http://www.weather.com/weather/5day/l/Hustler+WI+54637:4:US
First time I have has a problem with a Firefox beta, but it is definitely not ready for prime time. I realize FF is attempting to get away from what we are calling "Proprietary add-ons" but FF 35 in its present state will just fill the Moz Support forums with millions of complaints (guess I am one of the first). I have at present 1 extension (the only one that works on 35), the above mentioned "Places Maintenance."
I thought you might like this report as "user input." God knows I have tried...I must have downloaded 35 at least a dozen times and then been forced back to 34.0.5. So I am back on 34.0.5
I have submitted a bug report here:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1108196
Let me know if anyone else is having these problems or anyone needs more information. I'd love to help fix this. I know some of you good support people have probably tried 35. Are you having the same difficulties?
Below is my (34.0.5 but the same as I had on 35 last night with the exception of "Version") trouble shooting information minus a million entries for my printer:

  • "This drive is not ready for use; it's door may be open ..."

    Hi.
I recently updated to itunes 7, and then had an issue with a corrupt file on the i-pod (which resulted in chkdsk hanging itself at 27%, always). So I restored the i-pod and that took care of that - chkdsk now says it's fine.
However - it is also empty. My machine and i-tunes recognize it fine upon start-up; however, a short while into a full synch to get my library back on the i-pod, I invariably get the following error message:
"The drive is not ready for use; it's door may be open. Please check drive \Device\Harddisk\DR 3 and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive door is closed." The message comes with the options "cancel, ignore and continue", yet the latter two don't make a difference, and even if I choose cancel, itunes keeps trying until it eventually crashes.
This always happens after itunes has synchronized about 1.13 GB (out of 18.55 available).
As far as I can tell, both my system and the iPod are up to date (itunes and windows update say so, anyway). E: is unequivocally and exclusively allocated to the i-pod; changing the settings from "optimize for quick removal" to "optimize for performance" has made no discernible difference.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hullo ...
let me follow up on this again. I've followed your advice, de-installed spybot, no change. I looked through the windows support help base, nothing. While trying out different things, I started getting a "delayed write failed" message, and I did some things they suggested (including adjusting the registry - me, adjusting the registry!)and it went away, and now all I get is the "open door" message again.
That is: everything works absolutely fine, I plug in the i-pod (latest version i-tunes and i-pod is up to date), it's recognized instantly by the explorer as well as i-tunes. I've run all scans you can possibly run on it, and it is fine (no corrupt files, nothing). I've restored it twice through i-tunes, twice through the explorer. I've changed the drive letter.
It starts the synch fine (it's still almost empty after the last restore), but at some point, I get the error message. Interestingly enough, *up to* that point, it'll synch fine - I can disconnect it and play on it whatever's been synched thus far. I can also modify my i-tunes settings and preferences, all of which i-tunes will recognize and adhere to. It is just unwilling to put more than 1GB of stuff onto my 20GB i-pod.
Something I've noticed is that it is sometimes indicating apparently faulty charges in the beginning (though that is quickly corrected once the synch starts), as in, it'll recognize a certain amount of audio files, but also claim a random amount of "other" files, which should not be there (apart from the 30MB or so of genuine i-pod software).
Anyhow. I haven't seen any solutions to this on the forums or in the apple help files, but people appear to be having this problem still. Any ideas or input would be very much appreciated ...
    Thanks.

3G IPOD problems which are driving me mad and i can see others have had the same problem but i can't find any solution written down.
Basically my IPOD either freezes after a couple of songs or it downloads about 6Gb (of 40) and the freezes with the following message:
"The drive is not ready for use; its door may be open. Please check drive \Device\Harddisk2\DR6 and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive door is closed"
I've tried re-setting, installing etc but no luck. Any suggestions/solutions?

Hmmmm. I'm not sure how to explain this.
You need to change the Drive Letter for your iPod.
You should be able to connect your iPod then open Windows Explorer and right click on your iPod(which seems to be Drive E:) and change it to a different letter (like H).
If you haven't enabled disk use for your iPod it probably won't appear in Windows Explorer.
To enable disk use: connect iPod, open iTunes. Open Preferences and select the iPod tab. Choose "enable disk use."
Once you've done all that, try resyncing.

  • HP Officejet Pro L7590 &/or HP Slimline computer NOT ready for market

I purchased the Officejet last August and used in through December with a Dell with no problems whatsoever. When I bought an HP Slimline with Vista 64 the printer started spitting out a dozen pages with a few lines of garbage characters for each document including the Test Page, and did not completely print the documents. I spoke with three technicians who were all given remote access. We each spent about 3 hours per session. They were unable to make ANY progress in solving the problem. HP provided a VISTA 64 installation disk. It should not have done so. HP has taken no responsibility for releasing a product to market that is not ready for use but will not accept it back and will not give credit for the expensive paper weight that it has become. Moral of story: stick with Dell, don't buy anything from HP.

I was originally not in the network and networkmanager group but tried adding myself in the course of reading your post, because I thought maybe that could be the reason, but it didn't change anything
I had to create the networkmanager group because it was not existent but https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Groups#Groups says this group should exist.

  • Drive not ready for use

when i go to update my ipod, i get this error: "the drive is not ready for use; it's door may be open. Please check drive\device\harddisk2\DR4 and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the driver door is closed." then it proceedes to freeze up itunes and then the computer. So when i get this, i have to format my ipod so that i will be able to put music on it again. then after 3 or 4 updates the same thing happens. but never right after i format it. anyone have this happen before or know why this would happen? it is an older ipod, with the click wheel. and it does have the most recent update.

  • When burning to blu-ray gets 99% done then error "device not ready"

I have Elements 11 and an ASUS Combo burner.  I can burn to DVDs but when I try to burn to blu-ray it gets done encoding and compiling then at 99% switchs message to "device not ready".  The computer sees the drive and the disc is formatted.  Any thoughts on why Elements stops right when at end before actually burning to the disc?

I don't know the answer but I suspect Blu-Ray disks are not supported in PSE.  I haven't tried it personally but I will have to try it one of these days when my computer is repaired to my satisfaction.  I was without a machine for nearly two weeks and now I am using a borrowed one from a friend.

  • Adobe Encore Problem: 'Device Not Ready' when burning to BluRay

Hi Im using Encore cs6 to burn to BluRay.  The programme runs for about 20 mins or so then suddenly stops and the message 'device not ready' comes up.
I downloaded and tried ImgBurn to make sure my BluRay drive was working properly and it had no problems, the problem is just with Encore.  I saved my Encore project as an image in order to burn with Imgburn but it did not take across the menu I had designed.
Im under a deadline to get this dvd finished, does anyone have any ideas?
Im using an Alienware computer on Windows 8.
    thanks!
    Tony

I don't recall this occurring with imgBurn or Encore doing the burning. I can only imagine that your project is corrupt.
I would create a new, test project, to see if the menus "behave."
Create a new Encore project, new name, in the new project settings make it Bluray.
Add menus from the library: Crib Menu HD and City Lights HD. On Crib, in properties, motion tab, click on the video option and hit delete (this will remove the motion from the menu).
On that same menu, delete the bottom two buttons. On the city lights menu, delete all buttons but the top.
Select the m2v file (from the Crib motion menu) and select new timeline. Select that timeline and set the end action as "Last menu."
On the Crib menu, link the top button to the City menu. Link the second button to the timeline.
On the city menu, link the button to the Crib menu.
Build to a BD image. Burn with ImgBurn. Are the menus the same?

  • Linux is not ready for the desktop - Mandriva devs

I just read this in the latest DistroWatch Weekly:
You wouldn't expect something like this to happen at any time, let alone on the eve of Mandriva Linux 2007 release. Last week, two Mandriva developers went on record saying that "Linux is not ready for the desktop". In a web log post entitled Why I'll never use Linux for my main desktop, Vincent Danen concluded: "This kind of thing is precisely why, for me, Linux belongs on the server. Now if those kernel-developing idiots would get their act together and give us a 2.6 kernel that was a) stable and b) supported for more than a week, then I'd really be pleased." Another Mandriva developer, Fabrice Facorat, agreed. In a post called Linux ready for Desktop? Of course not!, he had this to say: "For me when you have control over the environment and the hardware, Linux is ready: think servers, workstations, thin clients, kiosks. However when you have no control on the hardware, Linux is not ready because it somewhat lacks flexibility."
There you have it, right from the horse's mouth! From two guys who have been working for a Linux company, developing a popular desktop Linux distribution, for years! Yes, that's right, Mandriva Linux is not ready for your desktop! Don't waste your money buying it!
One really has to wonder about the future of a company which happily asks Gaël Duval to leave, yet is quite pleased to keep developers who publicly hint that they consider Linus Torvalds, Alan Cox and other kernel developers "idiots"! A perfect pre-release PR, non?
No comments... I just cannot find any words.    :?

ughhhh. Mandrake have always sucked at marketing, they do themselves no favours. IMHO, they're becoming more and more irrelevant with each release. Once upon a time I might have reccomended mandrake to a newbie, but certainly not now. They've got great assets and a good base. The *potential* to become a good distro. But each release, stupid bugs make it through, and the improvements seem negligable.
Once of their better features is their huge repository of packages -- which is horrendously poorly advertised. You'll find nowhere in the GUI's or desktop a place to access their 'contrib' repo which is the equivalent of our extra, and contains a huge amount of packages. Also an important point for mandriva has been mandrakeusers.org/mandrivausers.org, which has been a huge community offering great support for newbies to mandrake, rather than directing them into the expensive mess that is known as the mandriva club. Mandriva have totally ignored this resource, and have made no attempt to support this board, upon which you'll find, I have quite a reasonable post count from back in my early days of Linux (mandriva 8.2 was first distro), and continuing on to now. It also exemplifies their (lack of) decent customer support.
The distro has had countless irritating bugs which pervaded through releases, and all sorts of utterly stupid ones that should never have made it through the testing process. They do little to help themselves with this. I've reported countless bugs, and all of them have been ignored for months. On their last release, they included the old rt2500 module, which at the time, hard locked SMP machines, and made my mandriva unbootable as it was loaded on boot. I filed a bug, marked it as high priority and it was utterly ignored for more than 6 months, so much so I had forgotten about it. Other bugs and emails have suffered a similar fate.
It's GUI tools, have become a complete mess, for example wireless, in 2006 release, was absolutely horrendous to configure, and had no support for WPA -- wpa_supplicant wasnt even on the CD's so people could configure it manually.
It's good to see they're finally ditching their old desktop theme, which they dragged on for far too long. It's always been absolutely hideous.
Their business model emphasises the 'club' far too much, making it difficult to even find a download on their site for the standard version, which has "Free" tacked all over it, as if to try and make you feel like a cheapskate. Doesnt help how they change their release cycle frequently either.
The stupidity of Mandriva just confounds me. PR like this does nothing to help them. They criticise the developers for not providing a 2.6 kernel that is stable. Maybe mandriva should look in their own backyard, and offer a distro that's remotely stable. Last time I used it, it had a horrendously old udev, hotplug, and a very slow hardware detection system. It still used bootsplash, which has been unmaintained for over two years, and included supermount, which Con Kolivas has disowned and again, has abandoned for years. They're hardly doing themselves favours patching their kernels with this out of date crap. Nor do they update them, I dont see mandriva offering updates to newer ones, which would no doubt fix many of the reported issues.
Alternatively they could do what other distros do and pitch in and help. Many of the kernel developers are also employees of other vendors, or have an important part in other distros, such as Daniel Drake and Robert Love. It'd be great for mandrake if they employed a kernel developer, because it's clear THEY are the ones who are the idiots.
I have no idea how they made it out of their bankrupcy, with the lacklustre state of their miserable distro, I think their days are numbered, unless they do something to change around their image and fix their product.
    ok, im done.

tried automatic upgrade from within 3.6.. did not work..crashed upon re-start. tried remove program completely for a fresh install..same thing crash upon V4.0 start up....
    Reinstalled 3.6.15...
4.0 is NOT READY for general release. Tried the fixes as suggested here, but they were useless and no help what-so-ever.
Very dissapointing, as I've been using Firefox as my only browser since it was introduced years ago.. this may be the end of the line....VERY DISSAPOINTED

  • BADI Error: Field GOITEM-ACCT is not ready for input ? HELP!

I get this error message when testing my BADI in the MIGO Transaction.  The BADI is the MB_MIGO_BADI.  It is from the Line_modify method.  Here is the entrie message:
BAdI: Field GOITEM-ZZREG_ACCT is not ready for input. (Change is not copied over)
    Message no. MIGO050
    Diagnosis
The contents of field GOITEM-ZZREG_ACCT have been changed in BAdI MB_MIGO_BADI (method LINE_MODIFY). The field, however, is not ready for input, so the change cannot be copied.
In method LINE_MODIFY, only the contents of fields that are ready for input can be changed.
The field is defined correctly in the screen as an input/output field - so it does not relate to that.
    HELP!!!!!

Yes - I have reviewed all of the code and I never do any modify to the screen attributes of a field - although it sure acts like it.  The screen lets me put in data and it stays there up until it finishes the method line_modify.  The error is when i press return after i enter the field- it completes the BADI method and then goes to the main program and does field validation and always comes back with some internal table field called "work" with a value of 0 and it should be a value of 6.
    Thanks!

  • Migo: field not ready for input

    hello  ,
i am stuck with an issue , which is ---
I have to add two fields in migo tablecontrol with dyndr- 200, for overdelivery tolerance and under delivery tolerance.
I am able to add them with my custom fields (ZZUEBTO,ZZUNTTO). and now fields are their in table control .
But now the issue , when i am initializing values to these fields using badi MB_MIGO_BADI ,and method LINE_MODIFY,
    its showing warning that --
BAdI: Field GOITEM-ZZUEBTO not ready to accept input (Change will not be adopted)
    Message no. MIGO050
    Diagnosis
The contents of field GOITEM-ZZUEBTO have been changed in BAdI MB_MIGO_BADI (method LINE_MODIFY). The field, however, is not ready for input, so the change cannot be copied.
In method  LINE_MODIFY, only the contents of fields that are ready for input can be changed.
if any one , please revert me back .
    Thanx,

    Hi
If I understand you, you are modifing the standard dynpro SAPLMIGO 0200 (ie: the table control TV_GOITEM). I suggest you to avoid it and mantain these fields in a new tab with this BADI and methods PBO_DETAIL and PAI_DETAIL.
    Regards
