Device Preview on Android

We are unable (v26 on Mac and PC, InDesign CC/CS6) to use the direct Device Preview via USB on Android. The Debugger Mode is active. We tested with Nexus 7, Galaxy, Asus Phonepad.

Do the following to make sure that your Android device can communicate properly with your computer.
Turn on USB Debugging. The location of the USB Debugging option varies depending on your Android device. For some devices, it’s located in Settings > Applications > Development.
(Windows only) Install the necessary device drivers to allow your Android device to communicate with your computer. The Flash Builder help includes useful information at Debug an application on a Google Android device andInstall USB device drivers for Android devices (Windows) .
Connect your Android device to your computer.
Start Adobe Content Viewer.
In the Folio Builder panel in InDesign, select the folio you want to preview, and then choose the device name from the Preview menu at the bottom of the panel.The folio is copied from your computer to your Android device.

Save for web/devices preview looks different

As you can see from the image below, the color is drastically different between the document (left) and the save for web and devices preview (right). Does anyone know why this would happen? When I publish the file from the save for web and devices menu, the color is correct, it's only the preview that is busted. So while it isn't a huge problem, it's definitely an annoyance. Thanks.

Thanks for that information. So what would be the best way to proceed such that there is no discrepancy between how the file looks while I'm working on it and after I export? As you can see from the pic above, the difference is substantial. Should I just use Save As instead of SFW? Thanks.

ActiveSync not working for Apple Devices - Windows and android devices not having issue

Recently we have had reports of users not being able to send or sync emails to / from Apple iOS devices. When we look at the ActiveSync logs, we see the affected people getting HTTP 503 errors. Yet if this person works on a Windows Mobile device or an android
Mobile device - they do not have the problem. Similarly, if the person uses the new "Outlook" app on an Apple iOS device, they don't have the problem. It only occurs with the native mail app on iOS devices.
We have Exchange 2013 CU5 - 4 x CAS Servers on Windows 2012, and 6 x Mailbox servers on Windows Server 2008 R2 (hardware doesn't support WS2012).
We have logged a call with MS Support and they are looking into it, but was just wondering whether anyone else has seen this issue.
PS - Before anyone suggests it - we have new servers on the way for the mailbox servers, and will install WS2012R2 and CU8 on it when they arrive. But because our executive is being affected now, we need to look at this now.

I did inital think it might be a widows phone issue but there are no other settings for me to use. I have also tested using a windows 8 surface and I get the same issue.
I have raised the event log level on the exchange server to expert and I have seen 2 messages when I try to connect.
I get Event ID 1100: Exhcnage ActiveSync device requests for your uses are being blocked. This problme frequently occurs when HTTP OPTIONS method is not allowed.
I know it is allowed as the test exchange connectivity worked and passed that test.
The other error Event ID 1309 ASP.NET warning. Part of the exception messge is DeviceTypeMissingOrInvalid
I have come across a comment that says for certificates to work you need to use windows intune or SCCM which we don't have. Do we know if this is true?

Device switch from Android 2.2 to BB10

Hi There, I seek some advice how to switch from a Android 2.2 to BB10. I already searched for some information, and most pages advise, that I should download the device switch app to both devices and the app will perform all steps required. Unfortunately, my Android device has the version 2.2.1. and the device switch app required 2.3 and my device can't be upgraded. Is there any way to transfer data from the android device to the BB10? When I started to use the Android device, it had an app called Transfer Data and it automatically pulled the contactsetc. from my previous device. Is there anything similar for BB10? Thanks, preizer

hi, normally you can sync your contacts on your bb 10 device with your email accounts. for transferring your contacts to a bb 10 device, sync your android phone with your gmail account first and then sync your bb 10 device with your gmail account. for transferring other stuff like pics, music etc. i think you need to use a pc/mac for bridging. you won't regret switching i used android for a long time and also use ios at the moment. in my opinion, bb 10 is the most advanced mobile os together with sailfish os on the market. but people do not see that and just go for specs of the devices, not performance and security. regards

I have both Apple and Android devices. My Android devices will not stay connected to wireless . I have the Airport Express. The Android devices are a Galaxy S4 and Tab 3. These both worked perfectly on my ancient Linksys WRT 120 N wireless router.

I have called Apple support twice and no one can confrm or deny as to whether Android devices can connect with the Airport Express. I have had the it configured 3 times so far and my Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 are useless with the Airport Express.

BTW what did you mean by using my old wireless router as a AP?
Every Wireless router ever made is actually made of two components..
A router and a wireless AP. (AP = Access Point).
To use any wireless router as a AP you simply bypass or turn off the router..
In an Apple router this is called Bridge mode..
In many routers it is known as AP or WAP mode.
But often they do not have the option..
Set it up manually.. we call this WAN bypass as it will bypass the router.
So what you do is open your wireless router setup page in your browser.. go to the LAN setup page.
You need to do two things.
1. Turn off the dhcp server.
2. Set the LAN IP to match the main router..
For instance if your plug it into your apple router and it is at the default IP.. 10.0.1.1 then set the Linksys to 10.0.1.254
The Linksys is then updated.. Plug the ethernet cable from LAN port apple router to LAN port WRT120 (not WAN)
Now with a computer plugged into the apple router or into the Linksys .. by ethernet.. open the IP address you just set.. go to the wireless tab in the setup and give the wireless SSID a suitable name for your other (non-apple) products.. voila.. you have now turned a wireless router into an AP.

Custom Field When Mobile Devices Search GAL (Android / iPhone / BBerry)

We are running Exchange 2010 SP2. In the details templates editor we renamed the pager field to "Direct Dial" to easily allow our users to see the direct dial numbers for the employees.
In the past when we searched the GAL from Android or iOS devices, we were able to see the pager field even though it was not named "Direct Dial" like it was in outlook.
I dont know when this feature stopped working (my guess is SP2??) but we can no longer see the pager field on our mobile GAL searches.
How can I restore or customize this functionality?

Try re-apply the settings and check if the issue persists.

OWA for Devices (iphone,ipad,android)

I'm wondering what are the requirements for Owa for devices. Unfortunately I can't find any specification especially concerning the on-premises Scenario.
- is the Exchange on-premises Scenario supported or do I need Exchange Online (off365)?
- do I Need Exchange 2013 Sp1 or can I run the owa for devices also with Exchange 2010?

Save / Load Image on device storage (iOS & Android)

Has anyone used application storage on iOS / Android ?
I need to be able to take a photo with the device and save that photo to the application rather than the device camera roll. When my app is opened I need to read these images and load them.
Any help with how to tackle this would be highly appreciated.

So I'm able to get the camera to take the photo or choose from library and get the image added to the stage. Once I get the image added to the stage.. how do I save that image?     and then when my app is opened .. how do I check if that image exists and then load it up?
Ideally .. I would like to check if 1.png exists .. if it does.. add it to the stage in a predefined space. Hopefully that makes some sense

VS2015 Preview - building android app with assets

I have successfully built and deployed a native android application using visual studio 2015 preview however I can't figure out how to include the assets into the apk. I've tried adding a custom build step to copy them into $(OutDir)\Package\res\assets after
Build and ant does indeed 'crunch' them. But it fails with this message: [aapt] invalid resource directory name: C:\xxxxx\ARM\Debug\Package\res assets. It looks like it's not adding the assets folder correctly to the path? Or is there another way to add
the assets to the apk?

Had the same issue here. Here is the best solution I have found so far:
Hotspot + Pepwave Max On-The-Go (w/ Load Balancing) + Airport Extreme
I have a VZW MiFi, but I believe this set-up will work with other hotspot devices. I actually have 2 MiFi Hotspots with a monthly allowance of 20G each. They are plugged directly into the Pepwave router (aka, tethered). (Note: you have to have the right cable to do this. The one that came with my Hotspot was only for charging.) If, for some reason, you cannot tether with your Hotspot device, you want a router that offers WiFi as WAN. The Pepwave will do this. The Pepwave is connected to my Airport Extreme via ethernet cable. I have the WiFi on the MiFis and the Pepwave turned off. So the only visible network is my Airport Extreme. The Pepwave is essentially just functioning as a modem.
I used to have a Cradlepoint, but I did not find it very user friendly--too complex for home use. The Pepwave Max OTG is awesome. I got the one with Load Balancing so it allows you to connect up to 4 cellular devices. If you only need the one Hotspot, you can just get the cheaper Pepwave Max OTG. The Pepwave allows me to run off one of the MiFis until I hit my 20G/month allowance, then it automatically switches to the other one. That way I never max-out on my monthly data allowance. Additionally, it gives you a real-time, hourly, daily and monthly running tally on data usage.
The guys at the 3Gstore are excellent and can help you figure out the best solution for your situation.

AEM 5.6 - Responsive Web Design Device Preview option

How to make a dynamic textbox scroll down/up for devices like iPhone/Android/iPad etc?

Problem: When doing anAPP to test it out in my smartphone devices. I tested it on my computer and it works fine. But in devices, im not able to scroll the textbox down/up because my devices dont have a scroll wheel to scroll up/down.
Assuming that im looking for something like this:
When I use my fingers to touch on the textbox and slide it upwards, the textbox will scroll down..
