Device Profile Default Problems
I am trying to create a default device profile for extension mobility for a 7961 phone. It is not in there. I see 7960s and 40s but I dont see any 41s or 61s. Any body run into this?
Hi Justin,
You should be able to create "default device profiles" for 7941's and 7961's, have a look;
With Cisco CallManager 4.0 or later, you configure a clusterwide device profile default for each model of Cisco IP Phone that you want to support Cisco CallManager Extension Mobility. The phone takes on the device profile default whenever a user logs in to a phone model for which the user has no user device profile.
To add a device profile default for a phone model, perform the following procedure.
Procedure
Step 1 From Cisco CallManager Administration, choose Device > Device Settings > Device Profile Default.
The Device Profile Default Configuration window displays.
Step 2 Click the Add a New Device Profile Default link. From the Device Type drop-down list box, choose the device (such as a Cisco IP Phone) to which a profile gets created.
Step 3 From the User Hold Audio Source field, choose from the drop-down list box to specify the audio source that plays when a user initiates a hold action.
If you do not choose an audio source, Cisco CallManager uses the audio source that is defined in the device pool or, if the device pool does not specify an audio source ID, the system default.
Tip You define audio sources in the Music On Hold Audio Source Configuration window. For access, choose Service > Music On Hold.
Step 4 At the User Locale drop-down list box, choose the locale that is associated with the phone user interface.
The user locale identifies a set of detailed information, including language and font, to support users. Cisco CallManager makes this field available only for phone models that support localization.
Note If no user locale is specified, Cisco CallManager uses the user locale that is associated with the device pool.
Step 5 At the Phone Button Template field, choose the appropriate phone button template. The phone button template determines the configuration of the softkeys on Cisco IP Phones. Leave this field blank if the device pool contains the assigned softkey template.
Step 6 If the phone model supports the Cisco IP Phone Expansion Module 7914, Cisco CallManager displays the expansion module field.
a. At the Module 1 drop-down list box choose one or zero 7914 14-button expansion module.
b. At the Module 2 drop-down list box, choose one or zero 7914 14-button expansion module.
Step 7 To configure Multilevel Precedence and Preemption (MLPP) information:
Step 8 Click Insert.
The device profile displays in the Device Profile Default pane.
Step 9 Click the Subscribe/Unsubscribe Services link to add the Cisco Extension Mobility service to this profile.
The Subscribe Cisco IP Phone services window displays.
Step 10 From the Select a Service drop-down list box, choose the service that you added in the "Adding the Cisco Extension Mobility Service" section.
Step 11 Click Continue.
The window displays the service that you chose.
Step 12 Click Subscribe.
The service displays in the Subscribed Services list.

Changing phone button template on default device profile?
I have a default device profile for 7941 that is currently using a phone button template that is one line. What is the impact of changing that to two-line phone button template? Can this be done live, on the fly?
so if i change the default device profile for my 7941's, nothing will happen to the phones until they are reset?

Ethercat 3rd Party Device Profile XML File not complete
Hi all,
I'm trying to use a Schneider LXM32 servo drive coupled to a NI cRIO 9074 Ethercat master.
The problem is that my LabVIEW project is not showing me the full device profile.
There are 4 available PDO for this device :
1) Cyclic Synchronous Position
2) Cyclic Synchronous Velocity
3) Cyclic Synchronous Torque
4) Free switching beetween 1) 2) or 3)
BUT, I only see the firts PDO parameters after importing the xml file. If I open the xml file manually, I see that all the PDO are available.
The xml file is available in this post.
Of course, I need to operate in the 4) mode, not the 1)
Help me, please....

Schneider_Electric_LXM32M_V114.zip 18 KBHi,
Thank you for your answer.
I successfully modified the XML file of my Schneider drive :
Now I have a lot of others problems (I have made a request on NI France, I supposed you are the one who phoned me today).
1) The XML file of my LTi DRiVE (another drive of the test bench) is done like this (see attachment):
1) I can't move the Sm tag because it's already everywhere
2) I don't understand why 4 devices are exposed.
Additionnaly, see below the LabVIEW project with this device :
3) The I/O exposed for the 2 Devices (Schneider and Lti) are shared variables. But I want to poll these I/Os every 125µs. The scan engine can run at 1 ms. So, if a put a "percentage of each scan period" to 1% (the default value is 40%), will I be able to poll every 10 µs ?
In this example :
https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11191
The scan period is 4 ms at the best, so with 40% of each scan period, it represents 1.6 ms.... am I correct ?
4) Is it necessay to use NI SoftMotion (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11191) to get/set data to a motor drive ? Is it much more easy with NI SoftMotion ?
Thanks,
Sébastien MICHAUD

How to use Device Profiles and Viewing Conditions Profile in Photoshop Elements 11?
In trying to get to grips with the Colour management aspects of PSE11, I have encountered the following problems:
Having selected "Display" a sequence of clicks (Change display settings -> Advanced settings -> Colour Management -> Colour Management tab -> Colour Management)
gives a screen which includes the headings:
Device Profile and Viewing Conditions Profile.
1. Device Profile. Besides sRGB and ARGB, the profile list includes the profiles for all of the Epson papers. (I have an Epson Stylus Photo PX810FW).
I changed the Profile to an Epson Grayscale, this was accepted within the menu, but there are no changes from normal when I viewed the image on the Windows screen or within
PSE11. ("normal" is sRGB or ARGB).
I thought it worth a try to test that, if I wanted the display image to closely represent what I would get on a particular Epson paper, this may be a way to do it.(I suspected this approach because I have never
seen it in the literature!).
So what is the purpose of all of the paper Profiles appearing in the Display listing?
2. The Viewing Conditions Profile has also several options. I have tried to find the criteria for choosing one rather than the other, but failed to find any information. Can anyone help? I seek general guidance
rather than the details of the Profiles.
As a seperate question:
Selecting Image on the PSE11 menu across the top of the displayed image, and then Convert Colour Profile, I tried this process on an image, converting tiff to sRGB. When saved there was an extra asterisk in the saved title but in this case,
the file was still labelled tiff and there was no change in the number of Mbs. If a conversion has taken place, how is one to know? Does saving a tiff file as jpeg change its colour profile? When is it useful to use this feature?
Many thanks to all responders!Addressing your second question, you are confusing two different things.
tiff is an image file format, as is jpeg, as is psd, as is png, as are dozens (if not hundreds, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_file_formats) of other formats.
A colour profile represents the colour characteristics of devices so that, for example, displays know how to display the colours, printers know how to print them.
Image files MAY, but do not have to, contain colour profiles.

I cannot get lightroom to remember my lens profile default.
.I have created a custom develop profile with sharpening, clarity and vividness and so on selected and in the lense profiles. I made made sure I had selected Auto or Custom and the correct lens..then i updated my develop profile making sure I checked Lens Corrections and yet the profile does not remember the lens although it remembers everything else
..I also try setting the default with Alt/ Set default under lens ;profile corrections again trying both auto and custom and still I cannot get lightroom to consistantly apply the profile ,..,and I have just bought a second lens and so the problem is about to get worse and to make a bid situation worse I cant find either one of my lenses listed,,16-85 and 55-200 Nikors
I just want to have lightroom apply the appropriate profile to each file as a default..that is all I want but I just cannot get it done..
and i cant change the color proile either even with the Alt/Set default button but at this point that is a secondary issue..
I have windows 8 and lightroom 5
ThanksThe selection of lens profile against whatever image you use as template for your Develop preset, needs to show "Default" - not "Auto", or "Custom".
Then when the preset is applied to other images, LR knows to use whatever profile is currently assigned against their lens data, for that image type (raw / non-raw).
E.g. setting up a new profile assignment or installing a new profile will straight away, retrospectively activate that chosen profile against relevant images provided they already have "Default" selection in place. Or else setting them to Default, will achieve the same thing straight away.
"Custom" seeks to apply a particular, specific profile regardless - and sometimes a profile cannot be (mis)applied, e.g. if there is an image format mismatch.
"Auto" seems to disregard user-selected profile assignments ("set as default"), employing only built-in lens profile detection. -
Have now done 3 tv resets to try and get this to work whilst attempting to set up cloud. Agreed to terms and conditions etc but then the screen seems to freeze when it comes to "device profile settings" . Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
That's OK now... Day after I had pop up for software update and I update it and I adjusted profile settings. The number is OK, its produced for German market and it's the same as 50L4300U ( your model ). But still I have a flash player problem, kinda annoying.

Hi,
Just wondering if it is possible to get device profile given any device criteria. I have only found getDeviceProfile in AXL which requires a profile name. I have not found any table relations in the documentation, for the SQL route, either.
My scenario is I have a list of devices and I want to get a device profile for each device to determin who has logged in and what the current directory number for the device is (for hotdesking purposes)
Many thanks for your time,
BenDevice Profiles are stored in the device table. E.g. you have your autogenerated device profile (generated when you enable extension mobility and select "use current profile") - named ADP + MAC Address of the phone. The user device profiles are also in there, and named as they are in the appropriate ccmadmin pages (the same name you need to plug into getDeviceProfile).
However, if I understand what you want to do correctly, you're going the wrong route. The extension mobility API allows you to query who is currently logged into a phone. From that, you can get a list of deviceProfiles for the user (getUser command), and from that you can get getDeviceProfile. If the user has multiple profiles, you can then look at the directory numbers on the profile, and compare them with the directory numbers currently on the phone to pick the proper profile (or if all profiles have the same DNs, you need to find a uniquely distinguishable property between profiles... and search for it on the current phone (getPhone).
There's no record which device profile is currently applied on a certain phone.
CCM 5.0 and above have the notion of a default device profile - which you can extract via SQL, but there again, there's no direct way to identify which profile has been loaded onto a phone.
I suspect EM works as follows: once you log in, it saves the current phone settings in the ADP + MAC address device profile in the device table, then loads the selected device profile, and applies all the settings to the phone config (the SEPxxx entry in the device table), then the phone restarts, and voila, you're logged on. When you log out again, the settings from the ADPxxx profile are loaded and re-applied to the phone. That would also explain why it's not possible to make modifications while somebody is logged in (not that it's technically impossible.. it's just not as straightforward because a lot of parameters that will show up when you access the phone actually belong to the user's device profile, and not to the phone itself).
AXL also has two parameters, the loginUserId and ownerUserId parameters for getPhone.. the former is which user is currently logged in, so that's the alternative to using the EM service to query which user is logged into a specific phone.
Or, you do it via SQL, the query is as follows: select LoginUserid from device where name = '" + deviceName + "'" -

Generic Device Profile with TouchScreen Functionality
Will there be a generic profile for (multi) touchscreen
devices supporting FL3 in the near future?
Since there are already devices that are utilizing a
touchdisplay in combination with FL3, like the Chumby, wouldn't it
be nice to test the applications you develop for that device in
ADC?
After years without touchdisplays even Nokia is also
developing new devices (N98) with touchscreen-functionality to
fulfill customer needs that may have arised by the iPhone (that
probably also might incorporate a Flash Lite implementation), so
maybe a generic device profile might be useful to already start
developing and testing applications in that (future) field.
Do you know anything about that topic? Maybe a new Adobe
Device Profile Package Release?Same problem here. New shiny setup working just fine - until today. iMac G5 lost pairing with the keyboard. Now it's only visible as an "other device", and typing the passphrase into the keyboard achieves nothing. Search for keyboards and there's no sign of it.
I've seen other posts that relate, especially:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=293328
and tried turning things on/off in different orders, but no luck. -
Is it possible to separate call forward unregistered & busy on a device profile?
I've got the following situation cropping up a surprising amount at our site:
User has 2 jobs within our institution. Works 3 days a week on job 1, 2 days on job 2. Each job is billed to a different cost centre, and the user doesn't want to be getting calls for job 1 when they're supposed to be working on job 2, and vice versa.
As such, we've created them 2 device profiles. When they log into the phone at the desk of whichever job they're currently working, they get prompted for which profile they want to log in to. The other device profile (if still logged in to the phone on the desk of the other job) is then forcibly logged out.
When profile 1, for job 1, is logged in, but the user is already on a call, they want incoming calls to that extension to be directed to their voicemail (i.e. set Call Forward Busy [Internal|External] to send to voicemail). They can then check voicemail and follow up on the call as soon as they're off the current one.
When profile 1/job 1 is logged *out*, i.e. they're currently working job 2, they want incoming calls to job 1's extension to be immediately diverted to a colleage within the same job 1 team.
I thought I could do this by utilising Call Forward Unregistered [Internal|External], but this does not seem to be the case. When a device profile is not logged in to a device it seems like the busy trigger just gets treated as 0 so the value of Call Forward Busy is followed. I can't see any situation where Call Forward Unregistered is ever utilised if an extension is only associated with a device profile.
Is there any way to do what I want (without massively convoluted configuration on Call Manager)? If not, do people think this is worth raising as a feature request (or bug in expected behaviour) for later versions of Call Manager?
We're currently on CUCM 8.5, FYI, in case this is something that's already been updated in version 9 or later. Some progress on second idea. Saved a copy of universal access plist with cursor set to large then set the cursor to small again. Replacing the plist file had no effect until I went into the UA pane and changed a setting at which point it must rewrite the file and refresh because the cursor size also changed at this point.
Tried the same again and restarted Finder, no effect. Also tried altering another pref pane instead with no effect. Need a way to force the computer to look at the plist files, no idea how though. :-) -
I am installing itunes to a laptop and have not sync device to this lap. It is saying that it must first restore device. The problem is I have over 2000 pictures and don't want to lose them. Now my phone is in restore mode and I don't know what to do. I don't want to proceed and loose these very important photos of family. What do I do to get it out of restore mode? My phone will not allow me to do anything to it at this point. I have the itunes downloaded on the laptop now. When I push the button for the phone it just shows Itunes and plug. I can't even call or open phone up.
Unfortunately... Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...

I am using iphone 4..32 gb...i hav updated to ios6..i am experiencing serious lags...watever m doin d phone lags n goes to the home screen...frequency is much greater..please help me with it...i even replaced my device but same problem on new one..!!!!Restore the phone as a new device. There is probably something that was corrupted on your phone during the update and has been passed via the backup to the replacement phone. If the corruption/problem is contained in the backup, you'll need to re-sync your data, and re-install your apps manually. Restoring the backup again will only bring the problem back with it.
If restoring it as new does not fix it, then make an appointment at the genius bar. -
CUCM 9.1.1 ucmuser web sort order of controlled device profiles
Hi !
Anyone has an idea, how the web interface for the users (ucmuser) does sort the controlled em device profiles ?
Or even better how to change the displayed sort order ?
Changing the order of controlled device profiles in the user configuration in ccmadmin does not change anything in ucmuser.
And the controlled device profiles in ucmuser seem to have no recognizable order at all, but the order keeps being the same,
regardless any changes we make in ccmadmin.
Thanks
RalphHi.
You can export all UDP.
Edit it with Excel
filter only entries with empty user
Upload the modified file as UDP- UDP Delete Custom File
Select delete device profile from BAT menu

Hello,
Scenario,
7960 Phone:
extenion : 5555 it is on phone line
partition: internal
CSS: internal
User Device Profile created for user for EM by choosing 7960 device
extension : 5555 it is on user device profile line
partition: UDP
CSS: GSM
Question:
when a user is logged in 7911 phone and when a PSTN users call 5555 the phone rings to a Phone line on 7960 but not on the profile where is logged in i.e 7911
why like that???
ThanksPhone and DN CSS are concatenated when both are assigned, where the CSS applied to the DN on a phone has higher preference. The most typical case for applying both is "device/line approach" for building classes of restrictions where you assign routing CSS to the device (CSS with access to routing patterns) and then blocking CSS to the DN in order to block let's say international dialing. This approach allows you to considerebly reduce number of required paritions and CSSes in your deployment. For more details you can refer to UC SRND which describes it in great detail with examples and nice diagrams.
