Device removal message keeps appearing

Hi, I have a 20" iMac, OSX 10.5.8, 2.33 GHz intel core 2 duo, 4gb Ram machine.
When I recently started up my machine , I started to get the "device removal notification" window popping up(the one that says a hardware device wasn't removed correctly and there may be damage, etc).
It keeps appearing about once every ten minutes or so, even though I have neither plugged in or removed any devices. I tried restarting the machine, but it still continues to appear every once in a while.
Any ideas?
thanks
Scott

  • Enternal server error 500, message keeps appearing on home page bar where we use to have Fox news.

What can I do, a message keeps appearing saying enternal server error 500, on the home page on top bar.  That was where we had the tab for Foxnews.  But this problem is intermittent.  Sometimes Fox news comes up where we use to get it.

The 500 Internal Server Error is a very general HTTP status code that means something has gone wrong on the web site's server but the server could not be more specific on what the exact problem is.
Below are few troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Reload the web page. You can do that by clicking the refresh/reload button, pressing F5, or trying the URL again from the address bar.
    2. Clear your browser's cache.
    3. Delete your browser's cookies.

  • Device Removal message for internal hard drive after coming out of sleep

    Hi,
I have search the forums and all the info I can find seems to just refer to external hard drives, how ever the problem I am having is with the internal drive.
When my G5 comes out of sleep mode, shortly after, I get a Device Removal error message then I loose my second drives and have to reboot for them to return. The drive is a 500 GB divided in two partitions, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), in slot B.
I have used Disk Utility and Tech Tools to check the drive, and the drive passes with no errors. I can't check file permissions as the drive is not a start-up drive.
This problem just started not long after using a USB thumb drive in the front, maybe just a coincidence or something went haywire after ejecting the USB drive?
    Thanks,
    Bill...

Do you have a USB hub to try?
Have you checked the disk manufacturer's website to see if there are any updated drivers or firmware available and/or needed?

I have two Western Digital drives in the computer, both partitioned into two drives. One is a 1 TB the other a 500 GB. The 1 TB drive is the boot drive and I installed it about 2 months ago. The 500 GB drive, the one that is disappearing, I installed it about 6 months ago. Both drives pass Disk Utility, and TechTools testing (that is before the one disappears).
I do not have a USB hub, I have a DVD/RW connected via Firewire, and I have a USB external 320 GB to use for whatever.
No, I didn't think to check the manufacturer's web site for updates as the drives work fine, just the one 500 MB drive out of the blue I get the Device Removal message. And I am using the G5 at this moment replying here, and so far today I have connected my camera via usb with out issues.

  • Continuous USB Device Removal Messages on certain Flash Sticks since 10.5.2

I have run into a problem with both my MacBook Air and Mac Pro since running 10.5.2, and this was not fixed in 10.5.3:
Most Flashsticks appear to be continuously removed and replugged over 5 sec intervals. I continuously get the "Device Removal Warning." These worked before, and do not have the problem running under BootCamp on the same machine, or being assigned to VMWare. An example is an Emprex 4GB stick, which was not cheap, when bought. They also do not have issues on Dells, or Macs running tiger!
These are plugged directly into the system, no hubs or cables in between.
There are other brands that do not have the issue.
Has anybody run into this? This is very annoying.

I'm seeing that issue with an Adata 8GB stick (www.adata.com.tw).
That same stick works fine on my MacMini (ppc), Dell 700m, and Lenovo T60p.
In all cases, I'm always connecting the stick directly to the systems.
The failure happens at various times after insertion. Sometimes Finder doesn't event display the contents, sometimes I'm able to copy 20MB before the copy hangs. In all cases (dozen times) on the MacBook Air, it never worked reliably.
The MacBook Air USB port is not (completely?) busted, as it works fine with my Maxtor OneTouch USB2.0 external disk.
Applications -> Console shows the following messages, starting from device insertion to "Device removal" error message:

  • Error message keeps appearing when opening iTunes

I keep trying to open iTunes and the error message -45075 keeps appearing. I have just reinstalled the programme like I was prompted to and it is now coming up with this new error code. What does this mean and what do I do to fix it?

Just in case the component being referenced is not part of iTunes but is rather part of one of the other related programs, it might be worth trying a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related componentry, as per the following troubleshooting document:

  • ITunes deleted apps - still a warning message keeps appearing:  'iTunes has found purchased items on the iPhone..."

    Hi
I'm trying to delete apps in iTunes Library and from the iPhone.
    1.  Goto Library > Apps then I deleted the apps I dont use.
    2.  Goto the iPhone, select Apps then deleted apps from there that I'm no longer using.
    3.  Click Sync.  Then I get the following warning:
iTunes has found purchased items on the iPhone “4S 16GB iPhone” that are not present in your iTunes library. Do you want to transfer these items from this iPhone back to your iTunes library? If you do not transfer these purchased items to your iTunes library, they will be removed from the iPhone.
    4.  I clicked 'Dont Transfer'.  This is fine as I dont want the apps on the iPhone anymore.
    5.  I ejected the iPhone.
    6.  Later, I reconnect the iPhone again to iTunes.   The warning appears again:
iTunes has found purchased items on the iPhone “4S 16GB iPhone” that are not present in your iTunes library. Do you want to transfer these items from this iPhone back to your iTunes library? If you do not transfer these purchased items to your iTunes library, they will be removed from the iPhone.
    7.  Clicked 'Dont Transfer'.
    8.  Then I tried 'Transfer'. This transfered "something" .. I dont know what transferred as I had deleted a few apps.
Why does this warning keep appearing everytime I reconnect?  I'm not sure what it means or what it's meant to do.
Please can you advise me?  I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

Don't transfer, right click the device in iTunes and select Back Up.
Though, the iTunes interface is designed to be computer - phone and not the other way around, you may need to use something else to preserve your data.

  • An iCloud error message keeps appearing since I upgraded to OS X 10.10

Ever since I changed from Mavericks to Yosemite the error message below keeps appearing on my MBP.
It appears three or four times each day, but when I do the only thing there is an option for, all my iCloud Preferences seem to be correct.
Is the problem likely to be with my MBP, my iCloud account itself or my broadband connection? The crossed out details on the error message of course refer to my email address. This is also my Apple ID, so am I correct in assuming that it isn't likely to be a problem with that email account?
If I do nothing and dismiss the error message it doesn't seem as if iCloud has a problem at all, and it appears to work okay.
The error message is getting a bit annoying now.

  • TS3899 Message keeps appearing " cannot get mail, ID or password incorrect" but getting email just fine

I recently upgraded to IOS 5, as well as connected to a cable network instead of dsl, updated iTunes and sync'd my iPad to my Windows XL and got on board with iCloud. Now I keep getting a message that says, " cannot get mail, user ID or password incorrect" with options of choosing OK or going to settings. If I choose the settings, it brings me to account info with my email address and password ( dots) Then if I erase the password and put it back in, it says it's incorrect and if I save it, I may not receive or send mail. If I go directly to my account from the settings icon, and erase my password there instead, and then re- enter it, then it verifies it. Regardless of anything I do, the same message keeps popping up and is very annoying, as well as interrupting. What's wrong, please?

Thanks for answering, but I should've clarified... The message keeps popping up every couple of minutes. Sometimes as soon as I click OK, it comes back again. I tried deleting the account and re-entering it again, but that didn't work. I tried resetting my iPad by holding both the on and the off switch down until the apple appears...still no help. I went to my PC, and logged into my account and viewed my email without any problem. Is this a problem with my iPad or Yahoo? I called a Yahoo line, and was told I had reached the wrong extension, since it was a line for technical assistance only, and then he hung up. What can I do next?
